Kyle Singler will draw the start against Sacramento on Saturday, sending Greg Monroe back to the bench.
This is likely a strategic move to compensate for a Kings team without their star center, Demarcus Cousins, so owners shouldn't do anything too drastic. Monroe has been able to hold his value off of the bench, but Singler has been inconsistent this season and is only an option in deeper leagues. Dec 13 - 8:52 PM

Date:

Kyle Singler scored 21 points in a start against the 76ers on Saturday with six rebounds, two assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

He started hot and didn't make many mistakes tonight. Singler did benefit from Andre Drummond being benched to indirectly open up some minutes at small forward. He's had big games before, but this still isn't enough to add him in standard leagues.
Dec 6 - 11:07 PM

Kyle Singler will start against the Sixers and Greg Monroe will come off the bench.

The Pistons have lost 10 in a row, so coach Stan Van Gundy is going to mix it up. Single is still not likely going to get a huge amount of shots tonight and is more of a deep-league play. Monroe should be fine.
Dec 6 - 7:17 PM

Kyle Singler moved into the Pistons' starting five on Sunday and played 28 minutes in a losing effort, scoring nine points with two 3-pointers, four rebounds and four assists.

He added two steals and one block to round out a solid line, but owners should view the defensive stats as a fluke -- if you're eyeing him as a waiver wire pickup, it should be purely as a 3-point specialist with a trickle of points, boards and steals.
Nov 30 - 7:50 PM

Kyle Singler scored a season-high 21 points against the Grizzlies on Saturday with four rebounds, two steals, one block and five 3-pointers.

He scored just 20 points combined in his previous four games, so it's hard to get too excited about this one. Singler can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Nov 16 - 12:15 AM

Kyle Singler will likely head to the bench as the Pistons take on the Knicks Wednesday night.

Stan Van Gundy has said that he plans on putting Greg Monroe into the starting lineup, in order to matchup Josh Smith with Carmelo Anthony, which would then send Singler to the bench. Over the first three games of the season Singler has averaged 6.0 points and 2.7 rebounds on 35.0 percent shooting from the field, in other words, he doesn’t belong on a roster in standard leagues.
Nov 4 - 4:48 PM

Kyle Singler played 24 minutes against the Wolves on Thursday with five points, three rebounds and one 3-pointer.

He took a backseat to Caron "Tuff Juice" Butler tonight and coach Stan Van Gundy will easily adjust his rotation if he can get some hot 3-point shooting. Singler has been on the fantasy radar in some spots for his career, but he doesn't do much on defense and really only get shots when he's wide open.
Oct 30 - 10:59 PM

Kyle Singler played 30 minutes in the starting lineup against the Nuggets on Wednesday with eight points, two rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers.

He should get some run in the starting lineup and should have another chance for a decent usage with Greg Monroe sidelined for another game. Singler is more of a low-upside, safe guy to use in deeper leagues.
Oct 30 - 2:34 AM

Kyle Singler will enter the 2014-15 season as the Pistons' starting small forward.

Singler will start, but he's not likely to get very many touches on offense, and doesn't look like someone worth owning in standard leagues. With Singler starting at small forward, Josh Smith will likely slide over to the four-spot, and Greg Monroe will head to the bench.
Oct 26 - 1:26 PM

Kyle Singler scored a game-high 19 points against the Sixers on Thursday with three rebounds, three steals and four 3-pointers.

Yes, this line comes with a grain of salt when "against the Sixers" is in the opening sentence, but Singler has made it clear he deserves minutes. If Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (knee) isn't healthy, the Duke product should be a factor in fantasy leagues. He's still not a terrific target in standard leagues at this time.
Oct 23 - 11:54 PM

Kyle Singler scored an efficient 15 points against the Hawks on Saturday to go with two boards, three assists, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers.

He was 4-of-8 from the field and 4-of-5 from the line. Singler is going to get minutes with the Pistons, but he's not going to be a major contributor while he's out there. He can be ignored in most fantasy leagues as long as there is no surprise bad news on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (knee).
Oct 18 - 11:16 PM

Kyle Singler has been told to be prepared to play the stretch four for the Pistons.

The Pistons are likely going to give an overwhelming amount of the power forward minutes to Josh Smith and Greg Monroe. Singler's fantasy value figures to take a hit from last season and he probably won't play as much on the wing with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jodie Meeks vying for minutes. He's not worth targeting in almost any league.

Sep 22 - 7:20 PM

Kyle Singler scored 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds and one block over 28 minutes on Monday against the Bucks.

Singler slowed down a bit a week or so ago but he's back to returning mid-round value over the past four games, averaging 13.3 points with 2.0 threes, 3.3 boards, 0.5 steals and 0.8 blocks while hitting 53 percent of his shots. Pick him up.
Apr 1 - 12:00 AM

Kyle Singler hit 7-of-11 shots and four 3-pointers for 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block in Wednesday's loss.

He had scored a total of 20 points in his previous three games, so this one sort of came out of nowhere. It's possible he just went through a slump and is ready to get hot again, and he's also hit a 3-pointer in six straight games. As long as he's starting, he's still worth a look in most leagues.
Mar 26 - 11:49 PM

Kyle Singler increased his workload to 28 minutes in Monday's win over the Jazz, scoring five points on 2-of-5 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and one block.

Singler is in a bit of a tumble but he's still managed to hold onto late-round value over the last two weeks, and over the last four games in which he's fallen to just 26.8 mpg he is still a 14-team value. Jonas Jerebko earned more minutes with a 22-point outing on Saturday but had just seven points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes tonight, so it's unclear if he will continue to take from Singler, who was humming along nicely before the timeshare was upon him.
