Jon Leuer scored 20 points on 5-of-7 shooting on Wednesday vs. Dallas.
He also set a career-high with 10 free throw attempts, making every single one of them. Leuer grabbed eight rebounds with one block, but didn't attempt a 3-pointer for the first time since Jan. 1. He's not loaded with upside and was averaging 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 0.8 triples in his previous eight games in February, so he's just a low-end asset who doesn't really hurt you anywhere. Jon Leuer hit 6-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for 15 points, 11 rebounds and a block in 36 minutes of Monday's 102-89 loss to the Bucks.

Leuer played just 17 minutes on Sunday, but if you throw that one out, he's scored very well since Feb. 3. He's hit double figures in six of his last seven games, but the rest of his stats have been lacking. Maybe tonight's game will get him kick started, but he'll need to do better than the 12 points and 3.6 rebounds he was averaging in February coming into this one in order to be worth owning in most leagues.
Feb 13 - 10:31 PM

Jon Leuer shot 1-of-5 from the field, scoring just two points in 17 minutes on Sunday against the Raptors.

Leuer was a non-factor tonight, but that was mainly due to Tobias Harris heating up early and getting the majority of the minutes. In the five games prior to tonight, Leuer was averaging 30.8 minutes, 16.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He has been producing low-end numbers for fantasy owners, and should get back on track in the Pistons next game vs. the Bucks on Monday.
Feb 12 - 9:01 PM

Jon Leuer scored 20 points against the Lakers on Wednesday with three rebounds, three assists, one steal and one turnover in 34 minutes.

It's nice to go up against the Lakers, but Leuer is making an impact in February. In his five games this month, Leuer averaged 14.4 points, 4.6 boards, 2.0 assists and 1.0 treys. He's a low-end guy to hold in standard leagues with his high percentages.
Feb 9 - 12:14 AM

Jon Leuer scored a season-high 24 points in 35 minutes against the Wolves on Friday, adding four rebounds, one assist and four 3-pointers.

He pulled a reverse Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. KCP was great on Wednesday and awful today while Leuer did the opposite. Leuer only scored eight points combined in his previous two games, but he's shown he can have value in standard leagues. Even with a slump and some rust from his injury, Leuer has flirted with top-100 value in his last six.
Feb 4 - 12:44 AM

Jon Leuer started Wednesday's game but picked up just two points, four boards and three assists in 17 minutes of action.

Leuer exited Monday's game after getting hit in the forehead, but his availability tonight confirms that he didn't suffer a concussion or any serious injury. He's usually better than this, but is still just a low-end guy in 12-team leagues.
Feb 2 - 12:07 AM

Jon Leuer hit just 1-of-5 shots for six points, six rebounds and two blocks in 26 minutes Monday before leaving the game with a bloody forehead, courtesy of a Jonas Jerebko elbow.

He was injured with just 33 seconds left in the game and had to go to the locker room for stitches, meaning he wasn't able to return. It sounds like he's fine so consider him probable for his next game. Leuer has scored just a total of 14 points in his last two games, but the minutes are there and he should get hot again soon. However, he's still a borderline player to own in 12-team leagues, especially since he's struggled to get back on track since returning from a knee injury four games ago.
Jan 30 - 11:17 PM

Jon Leuer was held to eight points on 4-of-5 shooting in Saturday's loss to the Heat.

The move into the starting lineup hasn't really helped Leuer's value, as he averages about one point more per game as a reserve in about the same amount of minutes. He added just one rebound and one assist in 24 minutes, but standard-league owners could do worse. After a total of four games played in the span of two weeks, the Pistons finally play four times each in the next couple weeks before the All-Star break.
Jan 28 - 10:44 PM

Jon Leuer returned to the starting lineup on Monday and hit 6-of-11 shots and three 3-pointers for 15 points, four rebounds and four assists in 28 minutes of a 109-104 loss to the Kings.

Leuer was quite efficient tonight and had 10 points, five boards, two steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer off the bench on Saturday. In his two games since returning from a knee injury he's averaging 12.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.0 3-pointers in 26.5 minutes. Now that he's starting (which sent Tobias Harris back to the bench), Leuer is at least worth a look in most leagues, although he tends to perform better off the bench then as a starter.
Jan 23 - 11:41 PM

Jon Leuer is starting on Monday vs. the Hornets, sending Tobias Harris back to the bench.

With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) healthy again, this will be the Pistons' preferred starting lineup going forward. Leuer's numbers in the first unit are actually worse than his numbers as a reserve, so he's just a low-end pickup. As for Harris, his value will be fine no matter what.
Jan 23 - 7:18 PM

Jon Leuer came off the bench against the Wizards on Saturday, finishing with 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes.

That's a pretty good game for Leuer after missing five. Coach Stan Van Gundy made it sound like Leuer would eventually be starting, but it actually doesn't really matter too much. The Pistons basically roll with a three-forward rotation, so the playing time will be there. Give Leuer a look if you need a big man. He has mid-round upside when he's rolling.
Jan 21 - 9:29 PM

Jon Leuer (knee) will come off the bench against the Wizards on Saturday.

The Pistons are making a change compared to when Leuer was healthy. Coach Stan Van Gundy said that Leuer missing five games is why he's going to bring him off the bench. In other words, a good game from Leuer could get him back in the starting lineup. He's worth a look now that he's back.
Jan 21 - 4:30 PM

Jon Leuer (knee) is listed as probable for Saturday's game vs. Washington, but will not be in the starting lineup.

It appears Leuer is ready to roll after missing each of the Pistons last five games. However, assuming he does play, coach Stan Van Gundy said that he will not start. Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris will start at the forward spots. With Leuer back in the mix, Stanley Johnson's minutes will take a hit. Prior to the injury, Leuer was enjoying his best season as a pro, averaging career-highs in minutes (26.8), points (10.9) rebounds (6.1), field goal percentage (.509) and free-throw percentage (.895)
Jan 21 - 10:42 AM

Jon Leuer (knee) was a full participant in Friday's practice.

Leuer has missed five straight games, but appears to be inching closer to a return and may have a shot at returning to the lineup for Saturday's game vs. Washington. Leuer was playing well before his injury. He averaged 12.9 points (on 54.2 percent shooting) and 5.6 rebounds over 14 games in December, retuning ninth-round value. When Leuer does return, Tobias Harris may get bumped back to the bench, and Stanley Johnson will see his minutes reduced.
Jan 20 - 1:10 PM

Jon Leuer (knee) will not play against the Hawks on Wednesday night.

The Pistons will hold him out for his fifth game. With Leuer and Kentavious-Caldwell Pope (shoulder) out, the Pistons will have to play Reggie Bullock, Stanley Johnson and Aron Baynes more than usual. Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris also slightly benefit.
