Jon Leuer (knee) will be a game-time call for Wednesday's matchup with the Hawks.
Leuer did get in a full practice on Tuesday and participated during shootaround, and head coach Stan Van Gundy acknowledged that he could return to action tonight, so things are trending in a positive direction here. If Leuer does get back to the court, Tobias Harris will return to the bench and Stanley Johnson could lose some minutes. Check back closer to tip-off for an official update. Jan 18 - 12:32 PM

Jon Leuer (knee) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) are being listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.

Leuer was able to practice on Tuesday, while KCP was not, so Leuer likely has a much better chance of returning to the court on Wednesday. If he is able to get back out there it'll be interesting to see if he's immediately re-inserted back into the starting five, or if Stan Van Gundy eases him back into things after spending four games on the sidelines. Either way, Stanley Johnson's minutes will likely take a slight hit with Leuer back in the fold. Stay tuned.

Jon Leuer (bruised knee) practiced with the team on Tuesday.

Leuer has missed each of the Pistons last four games, but is obviously close to a return. He is expected to be listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Atlanta. With Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (shoulder) sidelined, Leuer may be in line to see additional minutes if he plays and is healthy enough to handle them when he returns.
Jan 17 - 1:06 PM

Jon Leuer (knee) won't play vs. the Lakers on Sunday.

Leuer was listed as doubtful and this shouldn't come as a surprise to any owners. Aron Baynes, Tobias Harris and Marcus Morris will continue to pick up the slack until Leuer gets back on the court. Consider him questionable to return vs. the Hawks on Wednesday.
Jan 15 - 8:21 PM

Jon Leuer (knee) is being listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Lakers.

Leuer was able a limited participant during shootaround, and while he's hopeful that he'll be able to give it a go, we're not all that optimistic. Stan Van Gundy said that Reggie Bullock will draw the start if Leuer can't give it a go, so it'll be interesting to see if Tobias Harris sticks in the starting five. For now, we're going to consider Leuer questionable for Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
Jan 15 - 2:23 PM

Jon Leuer (right knee) will miss the next four games for the Pistons.

He was diagnosed with a bone bruise, but the earliest we will see him back on the court is on Jan. 18 vs. the Hawks. Outside of deeper leagues, Leuer's owners should evaluate other options. Tobias Harris will likely stick in the starting lineup for at least the next week.
Jan 10 - 9:08 PM

Jon Leuer (right knee) will not suit up for Tuesday's game against the Kings.

We're still awaiting the results of Leuer's MRI, but he's still dealing with some fluid in his knee, so he could certainly spend a few more games on the sidelines. Tobias Harris should move back into the starting five tonight sans Leuer, with Stanley Johnson and Henry Ellenson having the opportunity for some extended run off the bench.

Jon Leuer has no ligament or cartilage damage to his right knee according to coach Stan Van Gundy.

That's all we know at this point, but it sounds like Leuer is simply dealing with some soreness. Leuer has actually slowed down since his move to the first unit, so he's a borderline hold in standard leagues if we learn that he will miss time. Tobias Harris would likely move back into the first unit if that's the case, even though SVG said he likes him coming off the bench.
Jan 9 - 12:52 PM

Jon Leuer (sore right knee) will miss the remainder of Sunday's game against Portland.

He finished the night with one assist in six minutes. If he misses Tuesday's game against the Kings, Tobias Harris (who started the second half tonight) will likely move into the starting lineup.
Jan 8 - 9:59 PM

Jon Leuer hit 3-of-6 shots for eight points, six rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes on Thursday against the Hornets.

Leuer picked up two quick fouls in this contest, which led to Tobias Harris and Boban Marjanovic to play more frontcourt minutes and they both played well. The 21 minutes marked Leuer's lowest since Dec. 19, but he should get back on track on Saturday against a Portland defense that is ranked 29th in defense efficiency.
Jan 5 - 10:46 PM

Jon Leuer hit 7-of-11 shots for 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a steal in 34 minutes on Tuesday.

He had just two points on Sunday but bounced back tonight. He's been hit-or-miss as a starter and is averaging 12 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 3-pointers on 49 percent shooting over his last five. And that means he's a borderline fantasy power forward to roster in 12-team leagues.
Jan 3 - 10:32 PM

Jon Leuer was quiet in 28 minutes vs. Miami, posting just two points, three rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes.

Leuer scored 22 points vs. Atlanta on Friday, but he didn't fare well tonight against a Heat team that went small early and often. He was better in reality than this line shows, so at least his starting role should be safe. Expect a better result vs. the visiting Pacers on Tuesday.
Jan 1 - 9:47 PM

Jon Leuer scored a season-high 22 points with six rebounds, one assist, two steals and two 3-pointers in 37 minutes against the Hawks on Friday.

He picked up most of the minutes left from Marcus Morris (knee) not playing in this game. Leuer looks like he will be in the starting lineup most nights while coach Stan Van Gundy plays the matchups at the small forward spot. In his previous three starts, he averaged 10.0 points, 6.3 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 treys. He should be owned in standard leagues.
Sat, Dec 31, 2016 12:29:00 AM

Jon Leuer scored nine points in a start against the Bucks on Wednesday with seven rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer.

Things haven't really gone too well for the Pistons since Leuer moved into the starting lineup. To be fair, they've had some tough opponents, so it might be tough to get a read on it. For whatever it's worth, the starting unit is still at +2.6 net rating in the last three. Leuer is a hold in standard leagues and already was before he started.
Wed, Dec 28, 2016 10:38:00 PM

Jon Leuer started again on Monday and hit 5-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 13 points, five rebounds and two steals in 28 minutes.

He was actually doing better off the bench than he has in his two recent starts, but is still a guy worth owning now that he's replaced Tobias Harris in the starting five for the Pistons.
