Jon Leuer (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves.
Leuer has spent the past seven games on the sidelines, and head coach Stan Van Gundy said that Leuer will have an MRI, so we'll be awaiting those results. Eric Moreland and Anthony Tolliver will be splitting Leuer's minutes, but that means very little in fantasy hoops. Nov 19 - 5:47 PM

Date:

Jon Leuer (ankle) is inactive for Friday against the Pacers.

He hasn't been expected to play all day. With Leuer out, it will likely be Eric Moreland getting the backup center minutes because Domantas Sabonis is active. If Sabonis is limited, maybe we get some Boban Marjanovic action.
Nov 17 - 6:35 PM

Coach Stan Van Gundy said Jon Leuer (ankle) didn't participate in the walkthrough and is doubtful for Friday's game vs. the Pacers.

This is not surprising after it was reported that Leuer had a "flare up" on Thursday. Leuer has missed six straight games due to the ankle issue. Eric Moreland will continue to serve as Andre Drummond's primary backup at center.
Nov 17 - 12:25 PM

Jon Leuer (ankle) felt tight on Wednesday on and had a "flare up" on Thursday.

He did not practice today after he did not play on Wednesday. Leuer was available to play, but the tightness kept him out. If he's out again, Eric Moreland could get minutes in the upper teens like his 19 on Wednesday.
Nov 16 - 4:20 PM

Jon Leuer (sprained left ankle) was available to play on Wednesday but he didn't leave Detroit's bench.

Leuer is part of a big-man committee for the Pistons, but tonight it was Eric Moreland playing 19 minutes to finish scoreless with nine boards and two blocks. Neither guy is a fantasy asset while Andre Drummond, Tobias Harris and Anthony Tolliver (nine points in 31 minutes) are healthy.
Nov 16 - 12:06 AM

Jon Leuer (ankle) will be available to play Wednesday against Milwaukee.

He's spent the past five games on the sidelines, so the Pistons may want to ease him back into things with limited minutes. Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland might not play as much tonight, but none of these guys can be considered viable targets in most settings.
Nov 15 - 12:36 PM

Stan Van Gundy said Jon Leuer (ankle) participated fully in practice on Tuesday and is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Milwaukee.

Leuer has missed five consecutive contests since spraining his ankle back on Halloween. If Leuer is out again on Wednesday, Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland will again soak up most of his minutes.
Nov 14 - 1:58 PM

Jon Leuer (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Heat.

This will be No. 5 on the sidelines for Leuer, and there haven't been many reports of him making much progress, so he should be considered questionable at best for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee. Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland will continue to see an uptick in minutes sans Leuer, but that doesn't mean much in fantasy hoops.

Coach Stan Van Gundy said Jon Leuer (ankle) was "questionable at best" for Sunday's game vs. the Heat.

Leuer has missed four straight games and hasn't suited up since badly spraining his ankle on Halloween. Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland have seen more consistent playing time with Leuer out of action.
Nov 11 - 12:36 PM

Jon Leuer (ankle) will not play against the Hawks on Friday.

He hasn't been expected to play all day. The Pistons are likely going to use Eric Moreland as a backup five, but maybe we see Boban Marjanovic for a second game in a row. Tobias Harris should see more power forward minutes, which should allow Langston Galloway and Reggie Bullock to get more burn on the wing.
Nov 10 - 5:33 PM

Stan Van Gundy told reporters that he doesn't anticipate Jon Leuer (ankle) playing Friday vs. Atlanta.

Friday would mark the fourth consecutive game Leuer has missed due to the sprained ankle. Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland had been splitting Leuer's minutes over the first two games he missed. However, Boban Marjanovic cracked the rotation and logged nine minutes on Wednesday.
Nov 10 - 11:40 AM

Jon Leuer (ankle) is questionable to doubtful to play against the Hawks on Friday.

The Pistons didn't miss Leuer too much on offense with Boban Marjanovic actually getting minutes while the Pistons went smaller more often against the up-tempo Pacers. If Leuer is out, it's probably unlikely we see Boban again because the Hawks won't use a big man like Al Jefferson. We hope this is wrong. Free Boban.
Nov 9 - 2:17 PM

Jon Leuer (left ankle) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.

This will be Leuer's third straight game on the shelf, and it sounds like he'll be doubtful for Friday's game against the Hawks as well. Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland will continue to split Leuer's reserve minutes, but that means very little in fantasy hoops.

Jon Leuer (left ankle) was unable to practice on Tuesday and is unlikely to play Wednesday vs. the Pacers or Friday vs. the Hawks.

Leuer has missed each of Detroit's last two games and will likely miss at least two more. Coach Stan Van Gundy told reporters that there is only a "slim chance" Leuer plays on Friday. SVG said there is a "better chance" he suits up on Sunday. However, the team feels "really good about next Wednesday." Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland will continue to see additional playing time in Leuer's absence.
Nov 7 - 1:44 PM

Jon Leuer (left ankle) did not participate during Monday's practice.

Leuer has spent the past two games on the sidelines, and him sitting out practice isn't really a great sign regarding his availability for Wednesday's game against the Pacers. If he's out again, Anthony Tolliver and Eric Moreland will split his minutes, but that doesn't mean much in fantasy hoops.
