Jon Diebler is reportedly close to signing a contract in Europe.

Diebler was thrown into the Courtney Lee sign-and-trade deal where he wound up with the Rockets, but it's very plausible Houston could simply waive him, which would pave the way for him to spend another season abroad. Diebler spent the 2011-12 season playing in Greece.

Although not originally part of the deal, Jon Diebler was a late addition to the Courtney Lee sign-and-trade, with his rights going to the Rockets from the Blazers.

Blazers rookie Jon Diebler has signed with the Greek team Panionios ON Telecoms Athens.

Diebler is expected to start at SG for Athens, which is a perfect chance for him to gain valuable experience while taking home a paycheck. It isn't clear if the deal includes an NBA-out clause, but Diebler would be an afterthought in the Blazers' rotation.

Blazers draft pick Jon Diebler was recently seen wearing an immobilizing boot after twisting his ankle playing a pick up game.

Diebler wasn't concerned about the injury, saying, "It's not a big deal...everyone gets a sprain, I'll be fine in a week or two." The perimeter specialist isn't likely to be more than a marginal player in the NBA.

Jon Diebler was offered to Cimberio Varese of the Italian League, but the club turned down the offer.

Diebler was the no. 51 overall pick in the NBA draft. The former Ohio State forward projects as a sharpshooter off the bench stateside in the league, but he could garner a more prominent role overseas.

The Blazers selected Ohio State forward Jon Diebler with the No. 51 pick in Thursday's draft.

Diebler is something of a 3-point specialist who is weak defensively, which makes him sound like a very poor man's replacement for recently-traded Rudy Fernandez.
