Coach Alvin Gentry said E'Twaun Moore has won the starting shooting guard job over Buddy Hield.
This is a big surprise with Hield looking to be ahead for a couple months. Moore was fantastic before his heel injury, posting a 25-point game back on Oct. 9 while also making 61.5 percent from deep this month. Considering how the Pelicans will lean on 3-pointers a lot, Moore is someone to watch as a guy to create space for Tim Frazier and Anthony Davis. Oct 20 - 7:17 PM

E'Twaun Moore (foot) is probable to play against the Magic on Thursday.

He went through some practice work this week and should be close to 100 percent. Moore said he aggravated this injury and he was playing through it for most of last week. Nobody has really stepped up for the Pelicans at shooting guard while he was out, so Moore is looking at minutes in the 20s. He could start and be a sneaky 3-pointers specialist.
Oct 19 - 4:51 PM

E'Twaun Moore (heel) has been ruled out of Tuesday's game vs. the Hawks.

He suffered the injury about a week ago and aggravated it by playing through the pain. The Pelicans won't make the same mistake twice and will hold him out to be safe. The Pelicans said the injury is not a long-term concern, so we'd still expect him to be ready for the opener.
Oct 17 - 5:49 PM

E'Twaun Moore's heel injury is of no long-term concern.

Moore suffered the injury a few says before Wednesday's game vs. Houston and aggravated it during the action, but he participated in Friday's practice and could have returned to Wednesday's contest if it were the regular season. "It's feeling fine and getting better everyday," Moore said.
Oct 15 - 4:15 PM

E'Twaun Moore (right heel) got some shots up on Friday.

His heel contusion from Tuesday doesn't sound serious. In fact, coach Alvin Gentry said Moore would've played through the injury on Tuesday in a regular season game. Moore is splitting shooting guard minutes with guys like Buddy Hield and Langston Galloway right now. The former Bull is having a really nice preseason with a 67.3 true shooting percentage. He's on the radar as a deep-league specialist.
Oct 14 - 3:37 PM

E'Twaun Moore suffered a right heel contusion during Wednesday's preseason game against the Rockets, and he will not return.

Moore will end his evening with just two points on 1-of-4 shooting, although it's worth noting that he hasn't dealt with any heel issues in the past, and the injury didn't look like anything serious. The Pelicans don't play again until Tuesday vs. Atlanta, so chances are Moore will be back in action for that one. He could start the year with an expanded role sans Tyreke Evans (knee) and Jrue Holiday (personal), so Moore is someone to consider as a late-round flier in deep leagues.
Oct 12 - 9:21 AM

E'Twaun Moore scored 25 points with three assists, two rebounds, three steals and four treys in 29 minutes vs. the Rockets on Sunday.

Moore has been shooting the lights out with the Pelicans during the preseason and continued that trend on Sunday, hitting 10-of-14 shots from the field and connecting on all four of his 3-point attempts. Buddy Hield has also been awesome for the Pelicans, but the good news for Moore is that his versatility will allow him to play several positions this season. With Tyreke Evans (knee) and Jrue Holiday (personal) sidelined for the start of the season, Moore should be a key part of the offense and is shaping up to be a nice late-round flier.
Oct 9 - 10:01 AM

E'Twaun Moore got off to a great start as a Pelican on Saturday, scoring 19 points with four rebounds, two assists, one steal, one turnover and three 3-pointers in 23 minutes.

The Pelicans picked him up to help bolster their 3-point shooting after Moore lit it up for a 45.2 three-point percentage last season. The team is not going to have Tyreke Evans (knee) for the beginning of the season and odds are he'll be limited for most of the year. Moore could be a sneaky 3-pointers specialist in deeper leagues.
Oct 1 - 11:02 PM

E'Twaun Moore is working on becoming a better point guard.

"I’m working on my point guard skills – things like my decision-making and playing out of the pick-and-roll," he said. "Now-a-days, 80 percent of the game is out of the pick-and-roll, so I’m just [focused on] making better decisions and making plays. … I definitely think this will be a breakout season for me." Moore is expected to have a real role in New Orleans, but he's not much more than a late-round flier right now.
Sep 3 - 4:20 PM

E'Twaun Moore is expecting to have a breakout season in New Orleans.

Moore is expecting to see a bigger role with his new team and cited that as one of the reasons he signed with the Pelicans. "Oh yeah, I definitely think this will be a breakout season for me," Moore said. "I’m not a 100 percent sure how Coach Gentry wants to do it, whether he wants me to come off the bench as a sixth man or start, but it doesn’t matter to me." While Moore could have some fantasy value if the Pelicans suffer an injury or two, he isn't much more than a late-round flier in fantasy drafts at this point.
Aug 25 - 10:28 AM

E'Twaun Moore said that he chose the Pelicans because he was a little more comfortable with the coaching staff.

"I definitely had a lot more interest from New Orleans than the Bulls," Moore said. "I was in contact more with New Orleans. I just felt a little bit more comfortable with New Orleans’ organization and the coaching staff and everything, what they were trying to do with the future. Everything worked out." The four-year, $34 million contract probably made him feel comfortable too. Moore said he hasn't talked about his role for next season with the coaching staff, but he will likely be a key part of the second unit and could see minutes at both guard spots.

Pelicans sign G E'Twaun Moore.

Moore has officially signed his four-year, $34 million deal and will provide the Pelicans with guard depth off the bench. While the 27-year-old could see minutes if there are injuries in front of him, he won't have much fantasy value on the Pelicans second unit.
Jul 21 - 12:11 PM

The Pelicans have an agreement with E'Twaun Moore on a four-year, $34 million deal.

Moore had himself a really nice season as a combo guard and stepped up while the Bulls dealt with injuries. He had by far his best year from an efficiency standpoint, making career-highs 48.1 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from deep for his 7.5 points per game. The 27-year-old guard should provide some depth to the second unit, but doesn't have much fantasy value.
Jul 1 - 10:07 PM

The Wolves have reached out to free agent guard E'Twaun Moore.

He's drawing interest from several teams including the Bucks, but the Bulls will make it a priority to bring him back. The Bulls are still the favorites to re-sign him at this point, and that's probably the best thing for his fantasy value considering he would be competing for minutes with Jerian Grant, Jose Calderon and Spencer Dinwiddie.
Jul 1 - 10:44 AM

The Bulls view re-signing E'Twaun Moore as a priority in free agency.

The Bulls have Jerian Grant, Jose Calderon, Spencer Dinwiddie and not a whole lot else at the point guard position, and Moore is also attractive because he can play both backcourt spots. After enjoying some sustained success in Chicago last season, Moore seems likely to be back in the Windy City.
