Julyan Stone has been granted his release from Italian club Reyer Venezia.
This means he's free to sign with the Hornets later this week. The deal is expected to be for two years at the veteran's minimum. Stone will be the third-string PG in Charlotte behind Kemba Walker and Michael Carter-Williams and probably won't be in the rotation on opening night, especially if Malik Monk proves he can play some PG. Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer confirmed that the Hornets intend to sign Julyan Stone.

Stone is still negotiating a release from his team in Italy, as his current deal doesn't have an NBA opt-out clause. The Hornets were in need of a third PG after waiving Briante Weber, but we're not expecting Stone to play much with Kemba Walker and Michael Carter-Williams ahead of him. Malik Monk may play some point as well.

Julyan Stone is reportedly expected to part ways with Italian club Reyer Venezia and sign a two-year contract with the Hornets.

Stone had signed a two-year deal with Reyer Venezia earlier this summer, which did not have an opt-out clause. However, Stone's father became seriously ill and, with the Hornets willing to sign him to a contract, Stone made an adamant push to stay in the States to be closer to his father. It now appears he has come to an agreement with Reyer Venezia. We should have a formal update shortly. Stone will likely only see limited minutes in Charlotte and is not on the fantasy radar.

Julyan Stone is attempting to secure a release from his contract with Reyer Venezia in Italy to sign a two-year deal with the Hornets.

Stone signed a new two-year contract with Reyer Venezia earlier this summer that does not include an opt-out allowing him to leave for the NBA. However, Stone's father is now battling serious health issues and is currently in a coronary care unit with severe lung, heart and kidney ailments. Stone wants to remain in America, as he believes it is in the best interest of his father. Stone says that signing with Charlotte "will allow my father to have the proper insurance that will give him the best chance to continue to fight for his life."

The Hornets have expressed interest in Julyan Stone.

According to a report by Sportando.com, the Hornets are willing to offer Stone a two-year deal. However, Stone recently inked a two-year extension with Italian club Reyer Venezia and the extension does not have an opt-out clause. Thus, it appears Stone will have to honor his contract with Reyer Venezia.

Pacers waive G Julyan Stone.

Stone will reportedly play for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the D-League, so there's a chance he'll catch the eye of another NBA franchise this season.

Pacers signed G Julyan Stone.

Stone should be in training camp, but it would be surprising if he survived final training camp cuts. It's more likely that he'll try to relaunch his career in the D-League.

OKC waived G Julyan Stone on Thursday.

The Thunder have more than enough depth at the guard positions, so Stone was never likely to make the team.

Free agent G Julyan Stone has agreed to a deal with the Thunder.

Terms of the deal haven't been disclosed but it's likely a non-guaranteed training camp invite for Stone, who would be battling for backup minutes in a relatively crowded backcourt. Stone has averaged 1.3 points in 7.0 minutes per game in three NBA seasons.

Julyan Stone will play in Italy with Reyer Venezia next season.

He was working out with the Cavs earlier this week, but he'll look to take on a bigger role overseas. Stone was a favorite of Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri and may end up back in the NBA at some point.

The Cavs are scheduled to work out Julyan Stone on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He's worked out for the Lakers a couple times, but the Cavs could sign him to compete with James Jones and Joe Harris at the end of their bench. Stone won't be in a rotation to start the year.

The Lakers will work out unrestricted free agent Julyan Stone for the second time, according to sources.

Stone reportedly also has workouts scheduled with the Cavs, Clippers, and Heat, but with a second workout scheduled with the Lakers, it would appear they certainly have interest in signing the 6'6 guard. Stone was waived by the Raptors in early July, and while he can't shoot, he is a solid defender. However, Stone is nothing more than an end-of-the-bench kind of guy, and owners can safely ignore him in any format.

The Raptors have waived guard Julyan Stone.

The move was expected as the Raptors had until midnight on Monday to waive Stone, or else his $948k salary would have become fully guaranteed. Through three season of NBA action Stone has scored a total of 61 points, clearly he is not a name that is on the fantasy landscape.

The Raptors have until midnight on Monday to waive backup PG Julyan Stone, or else his $948k salary will become fully guaranteed.

Stone's minimum-salary deal isn't unreasonable but Toronto may not need him with Kyle Lowry locked up and restricted FA Greivis Vasquez yet to present the Raptors with an offer sheet. If they do end up waiving him it may be to clear a spot on their active roster for a player more likely to crack the rotation.

Julyan Stone (hip) practiced on Sunday and expects to be healthy for the Raptors' season opener.

That's not to say that he expects to play, as he's fighting for backup PG minutes with Dwight Buycks and D.J. Augustin.
