The Hornets recalled Julyan Stone on Saturday.
They could need him with Nicolas Batum (elbow) and Jeremy Lamb (shin) doubtful fo play. Stone was been more of a backup point guard in the preseason, but he has the size to play on the wing. To be clear, Stone is not a lock to play. Dec 9 - 4:29 PM

Date:

Julyan Stone (hamstring) didn't leave Charlotte's bench on Wednesday.

Stone was listed as 'probable' for this game, so it's possible he picked up a DNP-CD despite the absence of Kemba Walker (shoulder). Michael Carter-Williams and Malik Monk handled the PG duties tonight, and both Nic Batum and Jeremy Lamb can handle the ball, so we're not expecting to see Stone even if he's healthy on Thursday.
Nov 30 - 12:26 AM

Julyan Stone (hamstring) is being listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Raptors.

Stone has been rehabbing a badly sprained left hamstring since October, so if he is able to get out there tonight, it'll likely only be for limited minutes. Leave him on the wire.
Nov 29 - 11:45 AM

Julyan Stone will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain.

He's had some terrible luck with injuries so far after missing most of the preseason with a groin injury. With Michael Carter-Williams (knee) still without a timetable, this probably explains why the Hornets were linked to Jameer Nelson. Until the Hornets find some help, Malik Monk may get some run behind Kemba Walker.
Oct 23 - 10:01 AM

Julyan Stone (groin) didn't appear limited in 13 minutes on Wednesday, posting six points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, two steals and one assist.

Michael Carter-Williams (knee) was held out of a scrimmage on Monday, and Charlotte hasn't given a clear return date, so Stone should earn backup PG minutes for at least a few more games.
Oct 18 - 10:36 PM

Julyan Stone (groin) and Treveon Graham (hamstring) are expected to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Pistons.

Both Stone and Graham were full participants during Tuesday's practice, and they were not limited during shootaround, so things are trending in a positive direction here. With Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (personal), Nicolas Batum (elbow) and Michael Carter-Williams (knees) all unavailable, both Stone and Graham could get into the rotation, but neither guy has much fantasy appeal.
Oct 18 - 12:42 PM

Julyan Stone (groin) went through a full practice on Tuesday.

This is the first time we've seen Stone get through a full practice since suffering the groin injury, so perhaps he'll be able to take the floor in Wednesday's season opener against Detroit. If cleared to play, he'd likely split the backup point guard minutes with Malik Monk, but it's unlikely he'd be able to churn out much fantasy value in that role.
Oct 17 - 3:48 PM

Julyan Stone (groin) won't play against the Mavs on Friday.

That means we may get a heavy dose of Malik Monk vs. Dennis Smith Jr. tonight. While DSJ figures to have a minutes limit, Monk may get some good run.
Oct 13 - 4:45 PM

Julyan Stone (groin) did not play in Wednesday's exhibition vs. Boston.

Steve Clifford said there's no way Michael Carter-Williams (knee) will be ready for opening night, so Stone has a slim chance to earn backup minutes out of the gate. Even so, he's a non-factor in fantasy leagues while Kemba Walker is healthy, especially if Malik Monk continues to show promise as a backup PG.
Oct 11 - 10:02 PM

Julyan Stone (hamstring) will not play against the Celtics on Wednesday.

The Hornets are going to give Malik Monk a longer look at point guard tonight, which could be an option for them during the season.
Oct 11 - 6:35 PM

Julyan Stone (hamstring) won't play on Monday vs. Miami.

This is a new injury after Stone had an issue with his groin early on in camp. He's just battling soreness, so there's a good chance he's ready for the opener. Michael Carter-Williams (knee) and Marcus Paige (ankle) are both out as well, so Malik Monk could run some point tonight.
Oct 9 - 7:19 PM

Julyan Stone (groin) was held out of Sunday's practice.

It sounds like a maintenance day as he's expected to play on Monday vs. Miami. Stone is third on the point guard depth chart and isn't close to being on the fantasy radar.
Oct 8 - 1:07 PM

Julyan Stone (groin) was scoreless (0-of-2 FGs) in 16 minutes vs. the Celtics on Monday, adding two rebounds, two assists and two steals.

He operated as the backup PG with Michael Carter-Williams (knee) still on the shelf, but he showed very little tonight. If anything, Stone's quiet performance might prompt the Hornets to give Malik Monk a look at PG quicker than expected.
Oct 2 - 10:25 PM

Julyan Stone is dealing with a groin injury with training camp opening on Tuesday.

Michael Carter-Williams (knee) also isn't healthy, but this will give the Hornets a chance to give Malik Monk a look at the point. Stone isn't on the fantasy radar as long as Kemba Walker is healthy.
Sep 25 - 1:25 PM

Hornets G Julyan Stone said he's ready to accept any role asked of him by coach Steve Clifford this season, particularly as a defensive specialist.

Based on his comments, Stone realizes it will be hard to find minutes behind Kemba Walker and Michael Carter-Williams this season. "You want me to guard somebody the last 20 seconds of a game, I’ll do that well," Stone said. "I’m able to adjust." It would likely take an injury for his fantasy prospects to improve.
