Date:

Malcolm Thomas is expected to choose surgery on his knee which would keep him sidelined for around four weeks.

This would likely keep him out until at least the middle of December so this reiterates the fact that Thomas should not be owned in almost any league. Expect Brandon Davies and Henry Sims to pick up a few extra minutes in his absence, though neither Sims or Davies are consistent enough for standard leagues.
Nov 9 - 12:52 PM

Malcolm Thomas (knee) is out for Sunday's game and didn't even make the trip to Toronto.

He is currently deciding on whether or not to have surgery on his knee or to play through the pain. If he chooses to have surgery, he will be shelved for up to four weeks so we will monitor this situation closely. You can ignore Thomas in almost all leagues and in the meantime, expect Brandon Davies and Henry Sims to get all the minutes they can handle with Nerlens Noel (ankle) also out.
Nov 9 - 11:09 AM

Malcolm Thomas (knee) has to decide on whether or not to play through the pain, or have surgery and miss up to four weeks.

"I had it drained last week, Thomas said, "and it swelled back up on me . . .. [The knee] is just filled up. I got cartilage just floating around." This is a tricky situation for him and we will update you as soon as we know more. Thomas is only an asset in very deep leagues at the moment, and can safely be dropped if he opts for surgery. If he misses time, expect to see a lot of Henry Sims and Brandon Davies.

Malcolm Thomas (left knee) will not play against the Bulls on Friday.

The 76ers are really thin up front, so they'll have their starters, Brandon Davies and Henry Sims, get plenty of minutes. JaKarr Sampson may also get a handful of extra minutes.
Nov 7 - 5:10 PM

Malcolm Thomas scored eight points with nine rebounds in 19 minted against the Heat on Saturday.

The 76ers picked him up after he was waived and it looks pretty good. Thomas was actually really great at summer league for the Jazz, so it was surprising to see them let him go. Still, he'll need a couple things to go his way to be a fantasy asset in even 16-team leagues.
Nov 1 - 11:57 PM

76ers sign F Malcolm Thomas.

Thomas was traded a few times this past year before ultimately being waived by the Celtics in September. He finds new life with the Sixers, whose roster is as wide-open as any in the league, but he's still not worth picking up in fantasy leagues.

Oct 26 - 2:44 PM

Malcolm Thomas was officially waived by the Celtics.

He had almost no shot at making the team and Thomas is not worth drafting in any format.
Sep 28 - 5:23 PM

Malcom Thomas was traded to the Celtics on Thursday.

He was very good for the Jazz at summer league, averaging 11.8 points, 5.8 boards, 2.4 assists and 1.2 blocks in five games. However, the Jazz dealt him to the Cavs in July and his contract remains unguaranteed. He is unlikely to make the Celtics.
Sep 25 - 8:05 PM

Malcolm Thomas was traded to the Cavs on Tuesday.

He's almost a lock to be waived with a non-guaranteed contract or at least traded in another deal to help the money match up. Thomas looked great out there with the Jazz in Las Vegas and they may try to bring him back after he clears waivers. He should get a camp invite somewhere at the least.
Jul 22 - 7:03 PM

Assistant coach Brad Jones said Malcolm Thomas "had a really good week" at summer league.

Thomas ranked second on the Jazz in Vegas with his 11.8 points per game and started all five games. He has a very good chance to make the team and they could use his hustle off the bench. Of course, he's no lock to make the rotation despite his improvement.
Jul 21 - 11:44 AM

The Jazz claimed F Malcolm Thomas off waivers on Saturday.

Thomas was recently waived by the Spurs, who weren't using him anyway, but he stands a better chance to crack the rotation in Utah. He is not a fantasy option in any formats.

Spurs waive F Malcolm Thomas

The injury-depleted Spurs have been looking to add Othyus Jeffers on a 10-day contract and this seems to be the move that will give them the roster space to do so. Thomas had only played one game so far this season, so this news shouldn't exactly send shock waves throughout the fantasy basketball landscape.
Jan 23 - 1:58 PM

Malcolm Thomas and Nando De Colo have been re-assigned to the D-League.

The Spurs are making liberal use of the new D-League rules, which do not limit their ability to assign and re-call players from their single-affiliate team, the Austin Toros. It allows guys like Thomas and De Colo to get valuable experience they're otherwise missing as bench-warmers for the Spurs.
