The Lakers have informed Dwight Buycks of their interest in him for next season, a source told David Pick of Basketball Insiders.
It's not clear if it would be a summer league deal, a non-guaranteed deal or something greater, but the Lakers have bigger fish to fry than Buycks unless it's a training camp invite with little to no guarantees. Jun 22 - 1:08 PM

Lakers G Dwight Buycks fractured the third metacarpal on his right hand during Sunday's game and he won't play in L.A.'s final two games.

It's unclear whether Buycks will require surgery, but either way he should be ready to go for Summer League and training camp as he strives to land a guaranteed deal for the 2015-16 season. His absence leaves L.A. desperately short-handed in the backcourt -- with Jeremy Lin, Wayne Ellington, Kobe Bryant and Nick Young all on the sidelines, they'll have to rely on Jordan Clarkson, Jabari Brown and whomever else they might call up from the D-League.
Apr 13 - 12:34 AM

Dwight Buycks racked up multiple career-highs on Wednesday with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists and four turnovers in 33 minutes of action.

Anything is possible with the Lakers these days, but Buycks' career-night came courtesy of Jeremy Lin's unexpected absence with a knee injury. There's no word on the severity of Lin's injury, so for now Buycks is nothing more than a curiosity in standard-depth leagues.
Apr 9 - 12:35 AM

Dwight Buycks made his season debut on Friday with eight points, one rebound, one assist and two 3-pointers.

Two summers ago, Buycks tore up the summer league and the Raptors signed him to a deal, but nothing came to fruition. He might get some minutes, but you'd have to be in a very deep league to even given Excite Buycks a look.

Lakers sign G Dwight Buycks.

Buycks will join the Lakers on a 10-day contract after last playing with the Oklahoma City Blue of the D-League. The 26-year-old will mainly serve as bench depth for the Lakers, so he can be left on waivers in all but the deepest fantasy leagues for now.
Apr 2 - 12:22 PM

Dwight Buycks has reportedly signed with the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA D-League.

He might be able to land a 10-day contract with an NBA team if he impresses in the D-League, but Buycks is well off the fantasy radar in almost all leagues for the time being.
Mar 4 - 11:29 AM

Dwight Buycks has reportedly signed a deal to play in China this season.

He flirted with a couple of teams recently, but he'll head overseas for a bigger payday instead.

Dwight Buycks will workout for the Lakers on Thursday.

He left his team in Spain to pursue a contract in the NBA and there has been some interest around the league. We last saw Buycks with the Raptors and he provided them with some solid depth, but didn't do enough to warrant any fantasy attention. If he does make the Lakers, he will be competing with the likes of Jeremy Lin, Ronnie, Price, and Jordan Clarkson, so he definitely will have a chance to compete for minutes. However, you can safely leave him on the waiver wire for now.

Dwight Buycks reportedly tried to get out of his contract with Spain last week in order to join either the Thunder or Pacers.

The Thunder and Pacers have been truly devastated by injuries, so it makes sense for them to be in contact with Buycks. Buycks showed flashes of potential during the Las Vegas Summer League, leading all players in points, and assists, but he wasn't able to land an NBA contract. He might have some opportunity if he can sign with one of the aforementioned teams, but until we get more news on the matter, he can safely be left on the wire in all formats.

Dwight Buycks will play for Valencia in Spain next season.

He was getting some interest from NBA teams, but it makes some sense for Buycks to go overseas. He's a high-usage rate guy, ranking first in the 2013 Las Vegas Summer League in 2013 and in the top five in 2014.

Raptors waive G Dwight Buycks.

His contract would have been guaranteed in a couple days and there was really no way they'd be bringing him back after picking up Lou Williams from the Hawks. Buycks was a terrific guard in summer league last year, but just couldn't get anything going in the past calendar year. He's almost certainly going overseas next year.

The Raptors called up Dwight Buycks for Monday's game vs. Milwaukee.

He was marvelous in Las Vegas Summer League and led all players in points and assists per game, but it hasn't quite translated to playing in the big leagues yet. Buycks can be left on the wire in every league.
Mon, Jan 13, 2014 04:49:00 PM

Dwight Buycks has been assigned to the D-League by the Raptors.

The Raptors are suddenly playoff contenders and they might not be so willing to deal Kyle Lowry for a draft pick. Buycks was a superstar in Las Vegas Summer League as the top scorer, but it hasn't translated to a high level of play in the NBA. He will likely put up some big numbers with the Bakersfield Jam.
Fri, Jan 3, 2014 04:33:00 PM

Dwight Buycks returned to the lineup on Tuesday and had three points, one rebound, one assist and one turnover in six minutes.

He was away from the team for personal reasons and wasn't with the team for Friday's game. Buycks basically got his contract from a stellar summer league with the Thunder, but the transition to playing with the big boys hasn't gone all that smoothly.
Tue, Nov 26, 2013 11:00:00 PM

Dwight Buycks (personal reasons) is away from the team and will miss Friday's game against the Wizards.

Buycks has been the primary backup to Kyle Lowry for the last six games, but is only averaging 3.1 points and 0.6 assists in his 11.4 minutes per game thus far. It's unclear whether D.J. Augustin or Juylan Stone will backup Kyle Lowry Friday night, but neither one warrants any fantasy consideration.
