The Timberwolves have waived Greg Smith.
Smith was signed to a multi-year contract back in March, but apparently Tom Thibodeau doesn't view him as a worthwhile asset. Smith may be able to latch on with another club, but his fantasy value is non-existent. Jun 30 - 5:23 PM

The Timberwolves have signed Greg Smith to a contract that will keep him with the team for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

Smith has provided Minnesota with some much-needed frontcourt depth, but with averages of just 2.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per game, he’s obviously not worth owning in any setting.
Mar 23 - 12:19 PM

Greg Smith will sign another 10-day contract with the Wolves.

He's made six appearances with averages of 2.6 points and 2.4 boards in 11.0 minutes, so he's obviously not on the fantasy radar.
Mar 12 - 11:16 AM

Greg Smith (toe infection) will be available for Friday's game vs. the Thunder.

Smith is barely cracking Minnesota's rotation so his availability means very little for fantasy purposes. He's not on the radar while Karl-Anthony Towns and Gorgui Dieng are healthy.
Mar 11 - 6:45 PM

Greg Smith (toe infection) was a full participant during Thursday's practice and is being listed as probable for Friday's game against the Thunder.

Smith has been playing through the toe injury, and that trend should continue on Friday given that he was able to get in a full practice on Thursday. However, in his past two outings, he has not exceeded the five-minute mark, so there's no fantasy value to be had here.
Mar 10 - 2:37 PM

Greg Smith (toe infection) is expected to be available to play Tuesday vs. the Spurs.

He maxes out at around 15 minutes, so Smith is not an option in most leagues. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 8 - 6:33 PM

Updating a previous report, Greg Smith (toe infection) is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.

If Smith is forced to the sidelines on Tuesday, Gorgui Dieng and Karl-Anthony Towns will get all the run they can handle, with Adreian Payne serving as their primary backup. Smith is not a fantasy option in any setting.

Greg Smith had an ingrown toenail on Monday and played just three minutes.

He did not take any shots and had one rebound. Smith really shouldn't be playing at all, so the Wolves wouldn't miss him.
Mar 7 - 11:13 PM

Greg Smith played 18 minutes against the Bucks on Friday with four points and six rebounds.

Why? Smith took minutes away from Karl-Anthony Towns tonight for some reason and he did foul out. Leave the 10-day player on the wire.
Mar 5 - 12:57 AM

Greg Smith made his Wolves debut on Wednesday, coming off the bench for four points, one rebound and one assist in 10 minutes.

Smith signed a 10-day contract this afternoon but he's nothing more than frontcourt insurance with Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Garnett out of commission. He's irrelevant in all but the deepest leagues.
Mar 3 - 1:09 AM

Greg Smith will be available to play Wednesday vs. the Wizards.

Smith isn't likely to have a large enough role with the Timberwolves to make an impact in most leagues. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 2 - 6:47 PM

Wolves sign C Greg Smith.

He'll add some depth on a 10-day deal. Smith has struggled to stay on the floor and has a history of knee issues, so he likely won't make it past a second 10-day deal.
Mar 2 - 4:47 PM

The Timberwolves will reportedly sign Greg Smith to a 10-day contract.

Smith will add some frontcourt depth to the Timberwolves roster, but it's unlikely he sees enough floor time to make a difference in most leagues. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 1 - 3:06 PM

Greg Smith will play for the Raptors 905 in the D-League.

Smith's potential back to the NBA will go through the D-League, where he'll be coached by David Gale and an excellent staff.
Jan 5 - 5:08 PM

Greg Smith failed his physical and will not join the Pelicans.

He's had a number of injuries, including a bad knee injury two seasons ago. Smith could wind up on other team after he gets healthy.
