Gustavo Ayon expects to have his contract option picked up for next season and return to the Bucks.
There was some speculation that Ayon could return to playing on the international stage, but apparently that's not set in stone. "Gustavo likes Milwaukee, he just really wants to help the team and as far as we've been indicated he will be with the Bucks next season," Ayon's agent said. Ayon's option is worth just $1.5 million. Gustavo Ayon returned to action on Saturday with four points and seven rebounds in 18 minutes off the bench.

Ekpe Udoh wasn't available due to a sprained ankle, which opened up a few more opportunities for Ayon and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (10 points, seven boards in 24 minutes).
Apr 7 - 3:02 AM

Gustavo Ayon (knee) was on the Bucks' inactive list for Wednesday's game.

Ayon hasn't been happy with his role in Milwaukee and he's not a significant rotation player anyway, so his absence shouldn't impact fantasy owners.
Apr 3 - 7:13 PM

Gustavo Ayon (knee) didn't practice on Tuesday.

Ayon is a non-factor with the Bucks and it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to playing overseas next year.
Apr 2 - 1:56 PM

Gustavo Ayon said recently that he "would return to Europe" if his role with the Bucks doesn't increase next season.

"Without stability and regular playing time I find it hard to motivate myself," said Ayon. "I want to be playing, not sitting on the bench." The Bucks are awash with PF/Cs, which makes it hard for Jim Boylan to find minutes for Ayon, and his limited English makes for a slower transition to a new team.
Mar 24 - 10:05 AM

Gustavo Ayon racked up 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 14 minutes off the bench vs. Sacramento, capitalizing on injuries to Larry Sanders (knee) and Ersan Ilyasova (knee).

The Bucks threw everything they had at the Kings tonight, giving meaningful minutes to Ayon, Samuel Dalembert, Ekpe Udoh, John Henson and Drew Gooden. Sadly, Joel Przybilla didn't make a cameo.
Mar 10 - 11:45 PM

Gustavo Ayon was on the active list but he never left the Bucks bench on Saturday.

Ayon is the sort of effective but under-the-radar player that the small-market Bucks need. He's owed just $3.4 million over the next two seasons, a relative bargain for a competent NBA big man, so it's reasonable to assume they'll keep him around. Unfortunately, the Bucks' PF/C rotation is too crowded to expect fantasy value in average leagues this season.
Feb 24 - 1:06 AM

Bucks acquired PF Gustavo Ayon via a trade with the Magic.

Ayon looks like simple filler in the J.J. Redick deal. He's a poor bet for a boost in minutes while battling for minutes with Larry Sanders, Sam Dalembert and Ersan Ilyasova.
Feb 21 - 3:18 PM

Gustavo Ayon played his best game of the season vs. Portland, scoring 16 points on 8-of-14 FGs, with 11 rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block.

He was fresh off a DNP-CD and his 32 minutes were more than he's played since late December, and as a consequence Andrew Nicholson (14 points, five boards) was limited to 22 minutes. Ayon is a solid player whom Jacque Vaughn is likely to keep in the rotation, but we'll need to see more games like this before moving on him in fantasy.
Feb 10 - 8:53 PM

Gustavo Ayon made all four of his field goals for eight points in his return from a quad contusion on Tuesday.

Ayon has missed nine of Orlando's last 10 games with the injury and he's lost a lot of ground to Nikola Vucevic (10 points and nine boards) while he was out. Ayon can be left on the waiver wire in almost all formats while Vucevic is a must-start player.
Jan 22 - 10:49 PM

Gustavo Ayon will return from his quad injury on Tuesday.

Ayon is not a fantasy asset in standard formats and has no chance of unseating Nikola Vucevic for the starting center job at any point in the near future.
Jan 22 - 11:39 AM

Gustavo Ayon (quad) will not play on Friday against the Bobcats.

Ayon was on the inactive list and it would be a win if he were to log between 15-20 minutes upon return.
Jan 18 - 7:04 PM

Gustavo Ayon (quad), who won't play Wednesday night, says he feels better but wants to wait until he's 100 percent before returning.

Ayon said he doesn't want to risk aggravating the injury and missing an extra two weeks. In the meantime, Nikola Vucevic, the recently returned Glen Davis and rookie Andrew Nicholson have done a fine job absorbing Ayon's minutes.

Gustavo Ayon (quad) will not play Wednesday, as expected.

Ayon has a quad contusion and will not play on Wednesday. His minutes should be absorbed by Nikola Vucevic, Glen Davis and Andrew Nicholson.

Gustavo Ayon (thigh) didn't travel with the Magic for Monday's game, but he could join the team during their four-game roadtrip.

Orlando plays again on Wednesday, Saturday and Monday. Andrew Nicholson and Josh McRoberts will continue to soak up extra minutes in his absence.
