Rick Fox revealed in an interview with NBC Sports Radio on Monday that he is still a candidate for the Knicks head coaching job.
"I've been a candidate for a while and what I'm comfortable communicating is that there's really nothing for me to do," Fox said. "Phil has expressed his interest, and the patience for him discovering who is right for that job is left in his court." Fox added that he and Jackson have been communicating for the past four months about working together with the Knicks. While it would seem that Derek Fisher is currently Phil's Plan A, Rick Fox could be the Plan B if Fisher decides to play another year in the league. Fox could also serve as an assistant coach next to Fisher on the bench. Jun 9 - 2:56 PM

Rick Fox, who is experiencing pain in his neck and shoulders, is scheduled to see a neurologist today.

With Fox hurting and Karl Malone, Derek Fisher and Devean George all nursing sore knees, the Lakers won't be entering the Finals at 100 percent. Still, they should have everyone available to play.

Rick Fox made his first start of the season tonight and had five points in 31 minutes before fouling out.

Fox will continue to start at small forward over Devean George, but he probably won't be worth owning in fantasy leagues.

Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Rick Fox would have started tonight were it not for Shaquille O'Neal's suspension.

Jackson must have felt he needed Fox's leadership available off the bench with Horace Grant starting at center. Fox played 28 minutes to Devean George's 18 in the game.
