John Henson chipped in with 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots across 26 minutes in Saturday's victory against the Jazz.
Henson's blocked shots tied a season best, as he also had four swats in the team's regular-season opener back on Oct. 18 in Boston. His point production can be rather erratic but he is a steady contributor in the rebounds and blocked shots categories. Just don't rely on Henson for much else. Dec 10 - 1:33 AM

Date:

The Bucks won on Wednesday, 104-100, with John Henson pitching in 10 points, six rebounds and a pair of blocks in 24 minutes.

Henson was coming off a scoreless dud so it was nice to see him hitting shots -- he stayed in his lane offensively, with all of his makes coming in the restricted area. He's worth a look as long as you don't expect more than blocks and mediocre rebounds.
Dec 7 - 12:00 AM

John Henson failed to score against Boston on Monday, missing all six of his shots in 21 minutes.

The Bucks weren't getting much production out of Henson or Thon Maker, so they went super small down the stretch with Giannis Antetokounmpo at the five. He added three rebounds with one assist and one steal and is proving to be difficult to trust in fantasy lineups. As long as he keeps his starting job, he'll likely hold onto some low-end value for his blocks and boards.
Dec 4 - 11:42 PM

John Henson scored 13 points with 10 rebounds, one steal and one block in 30 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday.

He continues to see majority of the center minutes with at least 24 minutes in each of his last four active games. Henson hasn't been able to make free throws at just 39.1 percent this month before tonight, but he did have averages of 8.6 points, 7.5 boards, 2.1 assists and 1.5 blocks. The blocks make him worth owning in standard leagues.
Dec 1 - 12:39 AM

John Henson scored 11 points with eight rebounds and one block in 25 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday.

It was one of his worst games stat wise since Greg Monroe left, but at least his fouls were down with two. Henson is worth owning in standard leagues for his blocks, but the Bucks did roll out a lot of no-center lineups tonight. That'll be something to watch. Those no-center lineups got destroyed, by the way.
Nov 26 - 12:10 AM

John Henson (eye) will start on Saturday against the Jazz.

He should be set for his normal minutes after missing Wednesday. Henson is worth owning in standard leagues as a block specialist.
Nov 25 - 7:39 PM

John Henson (eye) went through shootaround on Saturday and is probable to face the Jazz.

He should be back after missing Wednesday's game in Phoenix. Henson was having a decent November, averaging 8.3 points, 7.8 boards, 2.4 assists and 1.3 blocks this month. He should be worth owning in standard leagues for his upside in blocks.
Nov 25 - 2:21 PM

John Henson (eye procedure) will not play Wednesday in Phoenix.

It's unclear exactly what procedure Henson had performed, but he's scheduled to re-join the team later this week prior to Saturday's game in Utah, so perhaps this will only be a one-game absence for the shot-blocking dynamo. With Henson on the sidelines, Thon Maker might be able to flirt with 30 minutes, and we could also see some small-ball Giannis Antetokounmpo occupying the five-spot.

Nov 21 - 4:47 PM

John Henson double-doubled on Monday vs. the Wizards with 10 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 26 minutes.

He was 5-of-8 from the field and didn't get to the free throw line to the delight of his owners -- he's hitting just 39.4 percent of his free throws this season. Henson is loving life without Greg Monroe and is averaging 10.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 blocks over his last five games. Unless Thon Maker shows up at some point, keep throwing Henson into your fantasy lineups.
Nov 20 - 11:54 PM

John Henson struggled in 20 minutes vs. Dallas on Saturday, scoring five points with two rebounds, one block and one turnover.

Dallas threw a variety of small lineups out there tonight, which minimized Henson's effectiveness, but a lack of playing time wasn't the only issue -- he also shot 3-of-10 from the free-throw line. That's a career-long issue that fantasy owners should accept as part of the deal, but he's still a great source of boards, blocks and FG percentage.
Nov 18 - 11:53 PM

John Henson got his first double-double of the season on Wednesday with 10 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocks in 28 minutes.

It's impressive that Henson hauled in double-digit boards against Andre Drummond, the league-leader in that category, but Detroit helped his case by shooting 35.3% from the field tonight. Henson made 5-of-9 FGs tonight but he was 0-of-4 at the line -- he's a career 57.1% FT shooter, so that's just something owners will have to accept.
Nov 16 - 12:08 AM

John Henson scored a season-high 17 points with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 25 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Monday.

Despite the tough matchup, Henson came through for his fantasy owners in a big way, shooting 8-of-10 from the field and knocking down his only free throw. Greg Monroe is a goner and Henson is locked in as the starting center, so he has to be owned in standard leagues. He's averaging 9.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 blocks over his last five and the Bucks will need a big game from him on Wednesday vs. Andre Drummond and the Pistons.
Nov 13 - 11:06 PM

John Henson had eight points, seven rebounds, one assist and one block in 26 minutes during a win vs. the visiting Lakers on Saturday.

Henson likely would have played more tonight if he hadn't racked up five personal fouls, which is nothing new -- he's averaging a career-high 4.9 fouls on a per-36-minute basis. He still did enough to appease owners who got him off the wire, and is an obvious must-hold with the starting job and Greg Monroe out of town.
Nov 12 - 12:12 AM

John Henson bounced back vs. the Spurs on Friday with 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in 32 minutes.

He matched his career-high in dimes for the second time this month and has shown a lot of growth passing it out of the post this season. Henson was coming off a dud due to foul trouble on Wednesday, but he's capable of lines like these and needs to be owned for his upside in blocks and boards, especially with Greg Monroe out of the picture and Thon Maker struggling.
Nov 11 - 12:21 AM

John Henson played just 17 minutes with seven points (3-of-4 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, one assist and one block vs. the Cavaliers on Tuesday.

He had five fouls, so don't worry about the low minutes. The Bucks traded away Greg Monroe on Tuesday, leaving Milwaukee thin at center with just Henson and Thon Maker. This means Henson should get the bulk of the center minutes going forward, and while he's prone to duds like this one, he should be owned for his upside in boards and blocks.
