John Henson (foot) returned to action on Friday, logging 18 minutes on his way to five points, five boards, two assists, two steals and two blocks.
Henson did this damage in a garbage-time environment but not to the extent that we should totally discount this performance. He hasn't been able to stay healthy and his effectiveness has been a problem at times, but when playing at peak levels he has flashed plenty of upside. Ersan Ilyasova's concussion-related absence could help his stock and we don't want to get too high over one game, but he's worth a look as a speculative add. Dec 27 - 1:37 AM

Date:

John Henson (foot) is expected to play against the Hawks on Friday.

He's been out for a month and hasn't played more than 21 minutes in a game all season, so the Bucks probably won't unleash him even with Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) and Larry Sanders (illness) out. Henson also doesn't play much power forward, so fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach.
Dec 26 - 6:43 PM

John Henson (foot) has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game vs. the Hawks.

Larry Sanders (flu) and Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) have already been ruled out for this one, so the Bucks could really use Henson back in the lineup. However, he's been out since Nov. 25, so his conditioning probably isn't quite there yet. Check back for an official update on Henson's status closer to tip-off, but know that he'll be a risky option in daily leagues despite the opportunity.
Dec 26 - 1:01 PM

John Henson (foot) is being listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Hawks.

Henson is averaging 4.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game over 12 minutes of action this season. Until he can actually step on the court, Henson can remain on the waiver wire in most leagues.
Dec 26 - 10:15 AM

John Henson (foot) has been dealing with pain in his foot and visited a doctor on Monday.

He is getting closer to a return, but the Bucks would be foolish to play him if he's still dealing with pain. Henson hasn't played much power forward this season, so he's not a very attractive pickup even with the Jabari Parker (knee) injury.
Dec 22 - 3:36 PM

John Henson (foot) will not play against the Clippers on Sunday.

He is still experiencing some pain in his foot, and will be re-evaluated on Monday. Henson will be worth a look in deeper leagues when he returns, but owners can continue to ignore him until we get a positive report.
Dec 20 - 9:28 PM

John Henson is questionable to play against the Clippers on Saturday.

The Bucks need big men badly right now. Henson has played almost all of his minutes at center this season, but they might shift him back to power forward more of out necessity. He's worth a look, but the awful foul shooting will make him tough to own in standard leagues.
Dec 19 - 5:33 PM

John Henson (foot) is listed as out for Wednesday's game vs. Portland.

There is still no clear indication as to when he will be ready, but the Bucks could certainly use him now that Jabari Parker (knee) was ruled out for the remainder of the season. We will update Henson's status when we know more, but owners should keep an eye on him in deeper leagues for his ability to block shots and rebound.

Dec 17 - 10:58 AM

John Henson (foot) is hopeful to return sometime during the Bucks upcoming West Coast road trip, which begins on Dec. 15.

"I'm still trying to get some swelling out and make sure it's pain free," said Henson. "I'm still trying for the West Coast trip but we'll see." Henson has been out since Nov. 25, and still has yet to return to practice. He was averaging a meager 4.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game before going down, so he can only be viewed as an asset in very deep leagues.
Dec 11 - 4:55 PM

John Henson (foot) is out as expected for Sunday's game vs. Dallas.

He is said to be targeting a return to action on Dec. 15, but he will likely return to a minimal role. Henson has a ton of upside and may be worth a stash in deeper leagues, but owners in standard leagues can do better. Expect more minutes for promising rookie Jabari Parker.
Dec 7 - 12:46 PM

John Henson (foot) suffered a "dancer's sprain" and is hoping to return to the lineup on Dec. 15.

It's called a dancer's sprain because he was on his toes when he sprained his foot. Henson was barely in the rotation anyway and his fantasy owners can cut him loose. The Bucks will likely use Zaza Pachulia as a backup behind Larry Sanders, so Ersan Ilyasova is a gamble this week even with four games.
Dec 1 - 2:04 PM

John Henson (foot) will not play against the Rockets on Saturday.

He is nowhere near a return and the Bucks won't share much information. The last time they did something like this, O.J. Mayo missed a very long time. Ersan Ilyasova is worth a look as a short-term guy while Larry Sanders could be big as long as he avoids foul trouble. Henson can be cut everywhere.
Nov 29 - 7:34 PM

John Henson (foot) will not play on Friday night, and coach Jason Kidd does not expect him to be available for Saturday's game either.

With both Henson and Zaza Pachulia (personal) unavailable, Larry Sanders will get all the run he can handle, with Ersan Ilyasova and Giannis Antetokounmpo seeing some minutes backing up the center position. Sanders has been coming on lately, and could make for a solid low-budget play in daily leagues tonight with a favorable matchup vs. the Pistons, and a healthy heaping of minutes coming his way.

John Henson (foot) will not play against the Wolves on Wednesday.

He is likely going to miss some time and needed some help off the floor last night. Henson's minutes were very inconsistent and he didn't even really step up while Larry Sanders missed time. He's not a fantasy option in most leagues.
Nov 26 - 4:41 PM

John Henson was helped off the court on Tuesday with a sprained left foot, and he will not return.

He began limping after challenging a shot on defense and the Bucks quickly diagnosed him with a sprained foot. If the injury is serious enough to cost him any games, a few extra minutes would be available for Larry Sanders, Zaza Pachulia and Ersan Ilyasova.
