John Henson (left thumb sprain) is expected to be sidelined for approximately a week.
Henson already missed two straight games after injuring his thumb in Portland on Tuesday night. He should be left on waivers in all leagues. Greg Monroe and Spencer Hawes will see some additional minutes with Henson sidelined. Mar 25 - 12:11 PM

Date:

John Henson (thumb) will not play against the Hawks on Friday.

It'll be his second game out of the lineup. Spencer Hawes was in the rotation for the last game and scored 10 points, so he should be looking at a similar role. Henson was expected to be re-evaluated today, but there's no update on his status going forward. Besides Greg Monroe as a low-end guy, this is a situation to avoid in most leagues.
Mar 24 - 6:27 PM

John Henson (left thumb sprain) will be re-evaluated when the Bucks return to Milwaukee.

Henson got hurt in Portland and he sat out Wednesday's game. Owners should consider him questionable to play vs. the visiting Hawks on Friday -- if he can't suit up, Spencer Hawes looks like the biggest winner after scoring 10 points in 18 minutes on Wednesday.
Mar 23 - 1:05 AM

John Henson (left thumb sprain) will not play vs. the Kings on Wednesday.

Greg Monroe stands to gain some minutes in Henson's absence, with Thon Maker and Mirza Teletovic also in the equation. It's possible that we'll even see Spencer Hawes or Terrence Jones crack the rotation. Henson is day-to-day so this doesn't have significant long-term implications.
Mar 22 - 9:13 PM

John Henson (left thumb sprain) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Kings.

Henson appeared to injure his left thumb on Tuesday night when Damian Lillard crossed him up, causing Henson to fall to the floor. If Henson is unable to play on Wednesday, Greg Monroe would soak up most of his minutes. Thon Maker would likely see an uptick in playing time as well.

Mar 22 - 12:59 PM

John Henson blocked four shots on Friday vs. the Lakers with eight points, nine rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes.

Greg Monroe was ejected in the third quarter, so Henson closed this game out for the Bucks and played well. He's averaging 6.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks over his last five games, but the problem is that he's getting just 17.6 minutes per game in that span and coach Jason Kidd has pulled him out of the rotation in the past without warning. For now, he's more of a deep-league pickup if you need blocks.
Mar 18 - 1:30 AM

John Henson had another good game on Saturday vs. the Wolves, finishing with 11 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

For the second game in a row, Thon Maker only played five minutes and Henson started the second half. He hit 5-of-8 shots from the field and was on his way to a big night, but foul trouble slowed him down. Henson has gone on these kind of runs before and had eight points, seven rebounds, one steal and four blocks in 21 minutes on Friday, so he's on the radar as a pickup. The Bucks play four games in each of the next three weeks.
Mar 11 - 10:51 PM

John Henson started the third quarter over Thon Maker on Saturday.

The same thing happened on Friday, so this is a trend. There's no fantasy analysis needed here and we'll let you know how Henson looks in the second half.
Mar 11 - 9:25 PM

John Henson started the second half of Friday's win over the Pacers, finishing with eight points, seven rebounds, one steal and four blocks in 21 minutes.

Coach Jason Kidd hinted before the game that he would use some bigger lineups tonight and Henson got the nod over Terrence Jones (DNP-CD) with Thon Maker (five minutes) getting a quick hook. Henson didn't even touch the floor in his previous four games and coach Kidd's rotations are unpredictable, so he's just a flier if you need blocks. The Bucks could certainly use his rim protection against Karl-Anthony Towns on Saturday vs. the Wolves, so maybe Henson can do something similar in that one.
Mar 10 - 10:51 PM

John Henson picked up a DNP-CD on Friday vs. the Clippers.

He played an average of 19.0 minutes in his previous two games, but coach Jason Kidd's rotations are impossible to predict on a nightly basis. Henson's role is too volatile for standard-league owners.
Mar 3 - 11:16 PM

John Henson started the second half ahead of Thon Maker on Wednesday, posting six points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in just 18 minutes of action.

The Bucks' rebounding continues to be a major issue, which might have inspired this move. They rank 22nd in rebound differential and the loss of Jabari Parker has exacerbated the problem -- the Bucks were beat on the boards 45-34 tonight, and a lot of those were offensive boards in a dreadful first half. Fantasy owners already know how fickle Henson is as a starter.
Mar 2 - 12:20 AM

Jason Terry and John Henson started the second half against the Nuggets over Rashad Vaughn and Thon Maker.

The Bucks were smashed on during the first half, so that likely explains it. Why Vaughn started in the first place made little sense to begin with.
Mar 1 - 9:20 PM

John Henson was back in the rotation on Friday vs. the Jazz, scoring four points with two rebounds and one block in 13 minutes.

After three straight DNP-CDs, Henson was forced into action because Thon Maker had four fouls in 14 minutes. The Bucks were unable to move Greg Monroe at the deadline and the Bucks want to give Maker a look, so Henson's stash appeal isn't great.
Feb 25 - 1:22 AM

John Henson was a DNP-CD on Saturday vs. the Pacers.

Here we go again. The Bucks started Michael Beasley tonight and pushed Thon Maker over to center, so Henson could be out of the rotation for a bit since the Bucks won tonight. They probably want to get an extended look at Maker as well. Henson can be dropped in most formats.
Feb 11 - 10:20 PM

John Henson will come off the bench against the Pacers on Saturday.

The Bucks center spot is a total mess right now and Henson is back into one of his slumps. This situation will likely be too much of a headache for fantasy owners. As for Maker, this definitely helps, but he really has to show he can produce in non-garbage time situations.
