John Henson scored five points in 15 minutes during a 107-98 loss to the Magic on Monday with three rebounds and two turnovers.
He moved back to a reserve role with all of his minutes coming at power forward again. Henson exploded with the extra playing time on Sunday with an 18-point, 10-board game against the 76ers. Unless the Bucks rest Greg Monroe again, Henson won't be a great option on Wednesday. Apr 11 - 9:32 PM

John Henson went off for 18 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and one assist in 25 minutes on Sunday, hitting 6-of-12 field goals and 6-of-6 free throws.

The Sixers are starved for size in the frontcourt and Henson took full advantage of the matchup, helping the Bucks hang on for a 109-108 win in OT. He earned more minutes with Greg Monroe resting, so owners should be prepared for a letdown if Monroe returns vs. Orlando on Monday.
Apr 10 - 8:09 PM

John Henson scored five points on 2-of-6 shooting Friday, to go with four rebounds, one assist, one turnover, one steal and three blocks in 17 minutes.

As per usual, Henson did most of his damage during garbage time. He had only blocked one shot in his previous three outings, and his minutes just aren’t consistent enough under Jason Kidd to warrant ownership in most leagues.
Apr 8 - 10:16 PM

John Henson went scoreless for the second straight game on Tuesday, contributing just one assist in seven minutes of action.

Jabari Parker shifted to SF tonight with Johnny O'Bryant starting at PF, and the center minutes were controlled by Greg Monroe and Miles Plumlee. That left Henson out of the loop for playing time, a trend that is only getting worse -- he played 11 minutes on Friday, nine minutes on Sunday, and just seven minutes tonight. Cut him loose, if you haven't already.
Apr 5 - 11:03 PM

John Henson played only nine minutes during Sunday's loss, going scoreless with one rebound and one block.

Henson played 11 minutes on Friday, so there were warning signs, and the bottom fully dropped out tonight. Jabari Parker is monopolizing almost all available PF minutes which leaves Henson to fight for center minutes with Greg Monroe (23 minutes), Miles Plumlee (25 minutes) and even Johnny O'Bryant (21 minutes). He has tremendous per-minute potential but owners fighting for a championship might need to cut him for someone with a steadier role.
Apr 3 - 9:51 PM

John Henson scored two points with three rebounds and two assists in 11 minutes against the Magic on Friday.

He got into foul trouble tonight, which is nothing new. Plus, Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo were just too good, so there was little reason to play him. He is still a fine blocks specialist and should be better on Sunday.
Apr 1 - 11:36 PM

John Henson kept his foot on the gas pedal with 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting with eight boards, one steal and three blocks in 26 minutes vs. the Hornets on Saturday.

He picked up some extra run because the game was a blowout, but he's now seen 25 or minutes in three out of his last five games. Henson scored 17 points on Friday with 10 boards and three blocks, so any owner in need of blocks and boards needs to give him a serious look. The bad news is that the Bucks play just three games in Week 23 and three games in Week 24 as well.
Mar 27 - 12:14 AM

John Henson played 26 minutes against the Hawks on Friday with 17 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two turnovers.

He played some 18 minutes next to Miles Plumlee and 1.9 minutes next to Greg Monroe, so that's kind of huge for his upside. This has been a trend for him in the past handful of games, so he's firmly back on the radar with his 2.4 blocks per game in his last five. If you need blocks, Henson is your guy.
Mar 25 - 11:57 PM

John Henson came off the bench on Wednesday for 12 points on 5-of-9 FGs and 2-of-4 FTs, with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

Henson dominated the second quarter, though it should be noted that he was being defended by Channing Frye on most possessions. He cooled off after halftime and wound up playing just 20 minutes, so it's still hard to view him as more than a blocks specialist.
Mar 23 - 10:10 PM

In his third game back after a long absence, John Henson notched eight points, two rebounds and three blocks in 26 minutes of action.

Henson came off the bench but he wound up playing more minutes than Greg Monroe and Miles Plumlee, while nearly bumping Johnny O'Bryant from the rotation. Henson is a per-minute dynamo for blocks, making him worth a speculative pickup if you need a cheap source of boards and blocks, but we'd like to see his minutes stabilize in the 24-minute range before cutting a worthwhile option for him.
Mar 20 - 10:19 PM

John Henson blocked four shots in 14 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Thursday, adding three points, two boards and two steals.

He was ejected on the last play of the game for taunting Matt Barnes after blocking his shot and was even escorted out of the arena by security guards due to an altercation in the locker room. We've already heard reports that Barnes could be fined or suspended, so the same could be true for Henson. In terms of fantasy, Henson showed his upside tonight as an elite shot blocker, but his role will need to grow before owners in standard leagues should look his way.
Mar 18 - 12:34 AM

John Henson (back) returned from a 20-game absence on Tuesday vs. the Raptors and played six minutes, scoring four points with one rebound and one steal.

Coach Jason Kidd said that his minutes would be limited tonight and he stayed true to his word. Kidd also plans on trying out Henson next to Miles Plumlee and Greg Monroe moving forward, so that increases his stash appeal for any owner chasing blocks. Just keep an eye on him for now.
Mar 15 - 10:58 PM

John Henson (back) is available to play Tuesday vs. the Raptors.

Henson has spent the past 20 games on the sidelines, so he'll more than likely be brought along slowly in Milwaukee. However, Henson only needs about 15 minutes to make a meaningful impact in the shot blocking category, so he's on the radar as a potential speculative pickup in deep leagues for those seeking a shot blocking specialist. Miles Plumlee's minutes figure to take a hit once Henson is fully up to speed.
Mar 15 - 6:22 PM

John Henson (back) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors.

Henson is listed as questionable on Tuesday's injury report and has a chance to return to the court after missing 20 straight games. While he's worth an add for fantasy owners looking for a block specialist in deeper leagues, Henson isn't worth owning in standard formats.
Mar 15 - 10:45 AM

John Henson (back) is being listed as "out" for Sunday's game vs. the Nets.

Jason Kidd is hopeful that Henson will be able to return for either Tuesday's game vs. Toronto or Thursday's game vs. Memphis, so it sounds like he's getting very close to getting back to the court. Henson is someone to consider swooping up in deep leagues for those seeking a shot blocking specialist, but he's not really worth owning in standard formats.
