John Henson (back) has been ruled out of Game 7 vs. the Celtics on Saturday.
Henson logged over 37 minutes in each of the first two games of this series, averaging 9.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. However, he's been sidelined since. If the Bucks beat Boston and advance to round two, he is hoping can return to game action. "I’ll be fine soon," said Henson on Saturday. "Hopefully, we can get this one tonight and next week maybe I can get out there." Thon Maker, who started at center in Game 6, is expected to draw another start on Saturday night, with Tyler Zeller coming off the bench. Apr 28 - 1:48 PM

Coach Joe Prunty said that John Henson (back) is unlikely to play in Game 7 in Boston on Saturday night.

Henson has been sidelined since Game 2 of this series. He is traveling with the team and in Boston, but it appears he is not ready to return to game action. Thon Maker started at center for Milwaukee in Game 6 and finished with four points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes. Tyler Zeller logged 11 minutes off the bench. They will both likely see a similar allotment of playing time on Saturday night.

John Henson (back) will not play on Thursday in Game 6 against the Celtics.

He got some shots up at shootaround, but Henson gets ruled out before warmups are completed. With him out, Tyler Zeller should get another start, but it's been Thon "The Difference" Maker stepping up off the bench. Maker should be worth a look in DFS while the Celtics should combat this move with more small-ball lineups like they did in Game 5.
Apr 26 - 6:22 PM

John Henson (back) was putting shots up at Thursday's shootaround, but he is listed as doubtful to play against the Celtics.

After missing the last three games, he's likely going to be a game-time decision for the game tonight. Henson was playing well in the start of the series, but Thon Maker has been even better off the bench. If Henson can't go, Maker could be a DFS play.
Apr 26 - 3:07 PM

John Henson (back soreness) did not travel with the team to Boston and has been ruled out of Tuesday's Game 5 vs. the Celtics.

Henson logged heavy minutes in Games 1 and 2, averaging 9.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. However, he was forced to sit out Games 3 and 4, and Tuesday will be his third straight contest on the sideline. Tyler Zeller has started, but Thon Maker has been the primary beneficiary. Maker is averaging 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 treys and 5.0 blocks in 27.6 minutes over the last two games. He is worthy DFS option on Tuesday.
Apr 24 - 11:19 AM

John Henson (back soreness) has been ruled out of Sunday's Game 4.

No surprise here, as Henson was listed as doubtful after sitting out Game 3. Thon Maker gave the Bucks a huge lift in Game 3 with 14 points, five rebounds, five blocks and three triples, and we should see more of Jabari Parker and Tyler Zeller as well.
Apr 22 - 11:29 AM

John Henson (back soreness) is doubtful for Sunday's Game 4 vs. Boston.

He did not play in Game 3 and was ruled out almost two hours before tip time, so he wasn't close for that one. Thon Maker was one of the heroes for Game 3 with five blocks and 14 points, but he'll likely come off the bench behind Tyler Zeller. Jabari Parker is the clear winner here as the Bucks will go smaller more often.
Apr 21 - 2:45 PM

John Henson (back) will not play on Friday against the Celtics.

That's bad news for the Bucks because Henson has been solid and he's also been in six of the seven most-used lineups in this series. With him out, that should mean Tyler Zeller gets a bump in minutes, but the Bucks would almost certainly be looking to run out more lineups with Giannis Antetokounmpo at the five. That should open up minutes for Jabari Parker.
Apr 20 - 7:47 PM

John Henson (back soreness) is doubtful for Friday's Game 3 vs. Boston.

This is the first we've heard a back issue for Henson. He logged over 37 minutes in each of the first two games of this series, averaging 9.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. The Bucks will lose their best rim protector if Henson is unable to suit up on Friday night. Thon Maker and Tyler Zeller would see a significant uptick in minutes in his absence. Milwaukee might also choose to go small, and give Jabari Parker additional playing time.
Apr 20 - 10:49 AM

John Henson swatted six shots in Sunday's 113-107 overtime loss to Boston.

Henson scored seven points and grabbed six boards to go with the blocks, and his 37 minutes of action should tell you everything you need to know about Thon Maker's (DNP-CD) role in this series.
Apr 15 - 4:51 PM

John Henson (ankle) will be in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Magic, as expected.

He was probable, and now we have official confirmation. Joining Henson in the starting five will be Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, Tony Snell and Jabari Parker.
Apr 9 - 6:45 PM

John Henson (right ankle) is probable to play Monday against the Magic.

This is the first we're hearing of an ankle issue for Henson, but given that he's probable, it seems like a minor thing. He should be out there tonight, and he's worth deploying for anyone seeking some swats.
Apr 9 - 2:54 PM

John Henson (sprained finger) returned from a one-game absence on Sunday, scoring eight points (3-of-5 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with five assists, three rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 27 minutes.

Henson is a reliable source of blocks and boards, and his typically lousy FT% isn't too painful since he rarely gets to the line. He's worth playing for big-man stats, in other words, and could even see more minutes with Thon Maker recovering from a strained groin.
Apr 1 - 11:15 PM

John Henson (sprained finger) will start vs. Denver on Sunday.

Thon Maker (groin) is out tonight, too, which means Henson and Tyler Zeller should see increased minutes.
Apr 1 - 6:44 PM

John Henson (sprained finger) remains questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Nuggets.

Henson participated in the morning shootaround, but coach Joe Prunty said he wasn't sure if he would be cleared by the medical team. We'd expect him to warm up which means he'll likely end up being a game-time call along with Thon Maker (groin). If Henson can't go, Tyler Zeller could be looking at another start and had two points, five rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal in 28 minutes against the Lakers on Friday.
