John Henson scored eight points with seven boards, two assists and three blocks in Monday's win over the Nuggets.
Henson has upside because of his elite ability to alter shots at the rim, but he was averaging less than 15 minutes per game prior to Monday and he took advantage of some garbage time in this game. Until he gets consistent minutes in the 20s, Henson's value will be limited to deeper leagues. Nov 30 - 11:32 PM

John Henson played 11 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday with one block, no shots and no rebounds.

He didn't play next to Greg Monroe and didn't even get all the backup center minutes. Henson is going to need Monroe to miss time in order to have reliable fantasy value.
Nov 19 - 11:38 PM

John Henson played 21 minutes against the Cavs on Saturday with six points, six boards, one assist, one steal and three blocks.

Coach Jason Kidd actually used Henson next to Greg Monroe tonight. That will have to continue for Henson to have fantasy value while Monroe is healthy. There's no reason to add him unless you really need some blocks.
Nov 15 - 12:22 AM

John Henson played 15 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday with four points, two rebounds, one assist and one block.

He is just playing backup center right now. Henson did lead qualifiers in block rate last season, but he won't be getting big minutes unless Greg Monroe is hurt, in foul trouble or in the doghouse. He's not worth owning in standard leagues.
Nov 12 - 12:33 AM

John Henson played just nine minutes on Saturday after his big game on Friday, scoring four points on 2-of-5 shooting with four rebounds and one block.

The hope for owners is that Jason Kidd didn't want to play Henson (Achilles) too much on the tail-end of the back-to-back. Kidd has a history of jerking his minutes around, but after 22 and five with one steal and three blocks on Friday there's enough upside to warrant Henson being on 12-team rosters.
Nov 8 - 7:21 AM

John Henson (Achilles) returned to action in a big way on Friday against the Knicks, scoring 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting with five rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 23 minutes.

We've seen the explosions before and the real issue here is whether or not he can tap into the upside. If he sits at 20 mpg on the dot for the year, he'll be a lower-end late-round value with a big edge in 9-cat formats. If he can creep toward 25 mpg he has mid-round potential so if you like those odds, then you can judge how hard you want to go on a pickup. For what it's worth we projected him at 23.5 mpg in the Draft Guide.
Nov 6 - 10:20 PM

John Henson (Achilles) has been cleared to play in Friday's game vs. the Knicks.

Henson will look to reclaim his role as the backup center behind Greg Monroe, so it will be interesting to see if he immediately leapfrogs Miles Plumlee in the rotation. Henson's minutes were low before the injury and Jason Kidd only gives him minutes at the five, so he is only worth owning in deeper leagues for now.
Nov 6 - 11:48 AM

John Henson (Achilles) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Knicks.

Henson had been hoping to return for Friday and is with the team in New York, but looks like he'll miss another game when the Bucks face the Knicks. Johnny O'Bryant and Miles Plumlee are the biggest beneficiaries of Henson's absence, but neither warrants a look in standard fantasy leagues.
Nov 5 - 1:57 PM

John Henson (Achilles) hopes to return vs. the Knicks on Friday.

Johnny O'Bryant has been the biggest beneficiary in Henson's absence, though there aren't many spoils to be divided -- Henson's role was diminished this preseason and he played 10 minutes in his one regular season appearance.
Nov 4 - 9:01 PM

John Henson (Achilles) will miss Wednesday's game against the 76ers.

Greg Monroe will continue to see a healthy heaping of minutes with his primary backup sidelined, with Johnny O'Bryant and Miles Plumlee having some increased opportunity. While Monroe has been a beast this season, O'Bryant and Plumlee aren't bringing enough to the stat sheet to warrant consideration in most leagues.

John Henson (Achilles) and O.J. Mayo (hamstring) will not play against the Nets on Monday.

Without Henson, the Bucks have been playing Miles Plumlee minutes in the mid teens, which should continue. They have also gone with smaller lineups at times. Henson does not have a timetable to return.
Nov 2 - 4:31 PM

John Henson (sore left Achilles) and O.J. Mayo (hamstring) will not play vs. the Raptors on Sunday.

Both players aren't traveling, meaning they won't play on Monday vs. the Nets either. However, Henson is reportedly just dealing with soreness, so we'll consider him day-to-day unless we hear otherwise. He is only getting minutes at backup center behind Greg Monroe, so he won't be a reliable fantasy option until Jason Kidd decides to give him more minutes.
Nov 1 - 9:53 AM

John Henson (Achilles) will not play on Friday night.

He was re-evaluated just before the game tonight and the team will hold him out. The Bucks will likely have some smaller lineups while we should see some Miles Plumlee.
Oct 30 - 8:20 PM

John Henson (sore left Achilles) missed practice on Thursday and will be re-evaluated prior to Friday's game vs. the Wizards.

It doesn't sound serious but the Bucks could potentially hold him out on Friday as a precaution. He only saw 10 minutes of action on Wednesday which is odd for a player who just signed a four-year, $44 million contract in the summer, but it's important to note that the game was a blowout loss. You might as well hold onto him until we can get a better idea of what the frontcourt rotation will look like.
Oct 29 - 2:28 PM

John Henson only had four points, one rebound and one block in 10 minutes of action vs. the Knicks on Wednesday.

It's a disappointing debut for Henson, who seems poised for a bigger role after landing a four-year, $44 million extension in early October. Owners who took him as a flier pick shouldn't cut bait until a few more games have elapsed, as his role may have been distorted in the blowout loss.
