John Henson (back) did not practice on Monday, and he will not play on Tuesday vs. the Celtics.
This will now be six straight games in street clothes for Henson, and there is no clear timetable for his return. It's irresponsible to stash Henson in standard formats considering he's just a blocks specialist even when healthy, but those in deeper leagues (16-plus teams) should wait until we get a clear diagnosis until making a decision. The time off during All-Star Weekend should help. Feb 8 - 1:32 PM

Date:

John Henson (back) will not suit up for Friday's game vs. the Jazz.

It'll be Henson's fifth straight game on the sidelines, which will allow Miles Plumlee to get some extra run, although that doesn't matter in almost any league. Henson is nothing more than a shot blocking specialist, and he's not really worth holding onto in standard leagues.
Feb 5 - 8:31 PM

John Henson (back) will miss Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

Henson will miss his fourth consecutive game on Tuesday and shouldn't be owned in anything by deeper fantasy leagues at this point. Miles Plumlee will see some extra run against the Blazers, but doesn't carry much fantasy value.
Feb 2 - 10:40 AM

John Henson (back) will not play against the Kings on Monday.

His back injury could keep him out beyond tonight. Miles Plumlee would likely get some more run behind Greg Monroe tonight, but has very little value.
Feb 1 - 6:22 PM

John Henson (back) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Kings.

The big man has missed the last two games with a sore lower back, so don't be surprised if the Bucks err on the side of caution. Greg Monroe will play heavy minutes if Henson can't play, while Miles Plumlee could see a few minutes off the bench. Henson is only worth stashing if you need blocks in a deeper league.
Jan 31 - 10:00 PM

John Henson (back) will not play vs. Miami on Friday.

He's dealing with a sore lower back and has now missed two straight games, leaving him questionable for Monday's road game in Sacramento. The Bucks' frontcourt will be even more short-handed since Johnny O'Bryant is doubtful tonight due to the birth of his child.
Jan 29 - 6:27 PM

John Henson (back) is questionable to play against the Heat on Friday.

Coach Jason Kidd said yesterday he is not sure on Henson, so he's slightly closer to doubtful. Miles Plumlee would back up Greg Monroe, who has a decent matchup tonight. Plumlee is not a fantasy option.
Jan 29 - 2:24 PM

Jason Kidd said on Thursday that he's not sure if John Henson (sore lower back) will be able to play Friday vs. the Heat.

Henson will miss Thursday's game in Memphis, which will open up some extra minutes for Miles Plumlee, although that really doesn't mean much with Greg Monroe healthy. For now, we'll be considering Henson questionable for Friday's game against Miami.
Jan 28 - 2:52 PM

John Henson (sore lower back) will not play against the Grizzlies on Thursday.

The Bucks have actually been fantastic with Henson in the lineup for Greg Monroe with the other starters this month, but they will likely have to go with Miles Plumlee behind Monroe. Henson had a back issue back in December, so hopefully he'll be back soon.
Jan 27 - 4:56 PM

John Henson scored six points with seven rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 19 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

He did have a minor leg issue, but it didn't cost him time. Henson did not play next to Greg Monroe for this game, so apparently it will only occur in certain matchups. He is still worth a look for owners needing help with blocks. Henson did lead qualifiers in block rate last season.
Jan 16 - 9:34 PM

John Henson played a season-high 31 minutes against the Hawks on Friday with 10 points, seven rebounds, one assist and six blocks.

He played five minutes next to Greg Monroe tonight. Henson also logged 11 minutes next to him on Tuesday, but didn't at all on Wednesday. The two only played 10 minutes together before this week, so this is a trend to watch. If you need blocks, Henson is worth a look to see if it continues.
Jan 16 - 12:44 AM

John Henson blocked five shots against the Bulls on Tuesday, finishing with eight points, three boards and three assists in 22 minutes.

The Bucks needed his size against the Bulls' frontcourt, so he took a few minutes away from Jabari Parker in this one. In fact, Henson even played 11 minutes next to Greg Monroe. To put that into perspective, Henson logged just 10 minutes next to Monroe on the season prior to Tuesday. However, unless this happens again, Henson's value will be limited to deeper leagues.
Jan 13 - 2:38 AM

John Henson scored 16 points with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 20 minutes against the Mavs on Friday.

It's really going to tough for him to get a clear runway for minute because an offense just can't operate with Henson next to Greg Monroe. Still, Henson does have a chance to be a top-100 player for his blocks, so he holds value as a specialist.
Jan 9 - 1:01 AM

John Henson scored 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting on Saturday vs. the Wolves, adding four boards, one assist and one block in 21 minutes.

The Bucks still aren't giving him any minutes next to Greg Monroe, so until that changes Henson will not be worth owning in standard leagues. He does have decent upside with averages of 6.5 points, 4.0 boards and 1.9 blocks in just 15.9 minutes per game, but keep in mind that he is also shooting 53.6 percent from the free throw line. If you need blocks, keep a close eye on him.
Jan 3 - 2:59 AM

John Henson, who sat out Monday's game with a sore elbow, played 25 minutes and hit 4-of-6 shots for eight points, six rebounds, three assists and five more blocks on Tuesday.

With both Jabari Parker and Greg Monroe currently unable to hit a shot, it makes sense for Henson to get more run going forward. He's also a shot-blocking machine, averaging 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.5 blocks over his last five games. He's never going to be a great scorer, but his minutes could increase a bit in the near future and he's an excellent source of blocks if you need them.
