The Pelicans are finalizing a training camp deal for Perry Jones.
The Pelicans just added Tony Allen, but they could still use some more depth at SF with Solomon Hill (hamstring) out indefinitely. We'll keep an eye on Jones during the preseason, but he has to make the 15-man roster before fantasy owners pay him attention. Jones last played for the Thunder and averaged 4.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 2014-15. Sep 11 - 7:12 PM

Perry Jones has received phone calls from several NBA teams since parting with BC Khimki of Russia, according to his agent.

Jones is free to sign with any team and is likely to find a roster spot at just 24 years old. While we may see Jones playing in the NBA this season, he won't have any fantasy value as a bench player.

Perry Jones has signed a deal with BC Khimki of Russia.

Jones is still just 24 years old, but will need to take his talents overseas as he was unable to find an NBA gig. While we may see him in the NBA again down the road, Jones is firmly off the fantasy radar.

Perry Jones has an "audition" with Russian club Khimki Moscow.

Jones played for the Iowa Energy in the D-League last season where he averaged 13.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. He's just 24 years old, so hopefully he gets another shot in the NBA.

Perry Jones III was the third overall selection in the D-League draft.

After being waived by the Celtics, Jones is looking to rekindle his fading star. He'll take the court for the Iowa Energy.

Perry Jones signed a D-League contract on Thursday.

Jones will now enter Saturday's D-League draft and will spend some time in the D-League as he attempts to play his way back into the NBA. We'll keep an eye on where he lands, but Jones can be ignored by fantasy owners.

Perry Jones has cleared waivers and is now "pondering" his NBA future.

The Celtics tried to trade him instead of waiving him, but they probably didn't get a lot of interest. Jones is certainly good enough for an NBA roster and maybe his injury history caused teams to pass on him, but we will let you know where he ends up.

Celtics waive F Perry Jones.

The Celtics were going to try to trade him, but they had zero leverage. Jones is likely going to wind up on another team with a number of teams dropping below 15 on their roster. He is unlikely to have fantasy value.

The Celtics will try to trade Perry Jones instead of waiving him.

They have until Monday to do it. The Celtics don't have any leverage here, so they would get next to nothing back and they have a fairly deep roster anyway. Maybe the 76ers give him a look for nothing because of Robert Covington's (knee) injury.

Perry Jones is still hoping he can secure a spot on the Celtics final roster.

Rookie R.J. Hunter's strong play combined with Jones' lackluster play has Jones on the bubble and he's hoping to change that. "I just want to prove that because of circumstances, I haven’t been myself," he said. "I’m a much better player than I’ve shown." We'll keep an eye on this situation, but Jones doesn't have any fantasy value even if he's able to land on the Celtics final roster.

The Celtics may not be able to keep Perry Jones on their roster.

You can blame R.J. Hunter for this one. Jones really showed his ceiling last year in a huge opportunity to step up for the Thunder while Kevin Durant was out. Jones can be ignored in all leagues.

Perry Jones III (personal) returned to practice on Monday.

Jones had a death in the family, but he's now back with the club. He's not a lock for the final roster.
Mon, Oct 12, 2015 11:38:00 AM

Perry Jones (personal) is expected to return to the Celtics on Monday.

Jones was away from the team on an excused absence due to a death in his family, but he should be back in action for the Celtics next preseason game against the Nets on Wednesday.

Perry Jones had a death in his family, and he will return stateside before Boston's game against Real Madrid on Thursday.

Jones is fighting for a roster spot in Boston, but he was used minimally during Tuesday's preseason game, putting up two points, two rebounds and one assist through seven minutes. The Celtics next stateside match will be on October 14 vs. the Nets, so Jones will more than likely be back with the club at that point.

Perry Jones (knee) expects to play in Tuesday's exhibition game vs. Olimpi Milano.

Additionally, Jones expects to return to practice on Sunday. Considering Jones is on the roster bubble, this is excellent news and he will get a chance to prove why he deserves a spot on the team. However, even if he does claim the final roster spot, Jones would have a tough time finding minutes in a very crowded frontcourt.
