Perry Jones came off the bench on Sunday but still led the Thunder with 21 points on 7-of-15 FGs and 5-of-8 FTs, eight rebounds and one block in 30 minutes.
He also sank a pair of 3-pointers and is the favorite to start at SF while Kevin Durant (foot) is sidelined. Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end, short-term option capable of contributing a trickle of across-the-board stats. Oct 19 - 10:14 PM

Perry Jones made 4-of-14 from the field for nine points with two rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 21 minutes.

He started at power forward and is the heavy favorite to start at small forward on opening night. Jones' ability to play the four is a big reason why he might take on most of Kevin Durant's (foot) minutes. Fantasy owners can consider him in deep leagues, but he's not on the radar in standards.
Oct 16 - 10:37 PM

Perry Jones started for the Thunder on Tuesday and hit 5-of-6 shots and a 3-pointer for 12 points, two rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes.

We're guessing he gets the start at small forward for Kevin Durant, who will miss a couple months with a broken foot, but it's also possible that Jeremy Lamb or Anthony Morrow could get the job. If Perry wins it, he's going to be worth a late draft pick in fantasy leagues.
Oct 15 - 1:11 AM

The Thunder's starting lineup for Tuesday features Russell Westbrook, Andre Roberson, Perry Jones, Lance Thomas and Steven Adams.

Roberson's defense makes him a likely starter for coach Scott Brooks, and Perry Jones could also fill in at SF while Kevin Durant (foot) is on the sidelines. Thomas and Adams may lose their starting jobs once Serge Ibaka (ankle) and Kendrick Perkins (quad) return to action, and at the moment there are more questions than answers in OKC. Brooks could also slide Roberson to SF with Anthony Morrow, Reggie Jackson or Jeremy Lamb at SG, so fantasy owners should keep a close eye on the Thunder as the preseason winds down.

Perry Jones III started in place of Serge Ibaka (ankle) on Friday, finishing with two points and two boards in 15 minutes.

Jones is just getting over his knee injury and was a late scratch on Wednesday. He has no fantasy value.
Oct 11 - 12:53 PM

Perry Jones III (knee) will start at the power forward spot on Friday.

Interesting. Jones is a bulky wing player, but he's certainly not a natural four. Fantasy owners can ignore him in most formats.
Oct 10 - 7:09 PM

Perry Jones III (knee) is scheduled to play for Dallas on Friday.

Jones has been recovering from knee surgery and was held out of Wednesday's preseason game. In two seasons with the Thunder, Jones is yet to make an impact. After the departure of Caron Butler, he may finally be getting his chance as the back up to Kevin Durant at small forward.
Oct 9 - 6:00 PM

Perry Jones III (knee) surgery is a late scratch for Wednesday night.

He was expected to play and is getting close to a return. Jones is expected to back up Kevin Durant this season.
Oct 8 - 9:10 PM

Perry Jones III (knee surgery) did not play in the Thunder's scrimmage on Sunday.

He said he'll be ready for training camp, but must not be at 100 percent. Jones III is a candidate to start at shooting guard for the Thunder this season, but he won't get enough shots or chances with the ball to have fantasy value in most leagues.
Oct 6 - 10:39 AM

Perry Jones III (knee) will be ready for training camp.

He played in four Orlando Pro Summer League, averaging 12.3 points, 5.3 boards, 1.0 blocks and 2.3 triples. Jones needed arthroscopic surgery just three days after summer league on July 14, so it's not a surprise to see him ready for camp. Despite the nice output this summer, he's still not an option in almost any fantasy league.
Sep 25 - 9:13 PM

Perry Jones III has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, with an expected recovery time of 4-6 weeks.

Jones hasn't done anything in his two season with OKC, averaging 3.0 points and 1.8 rebounds on 43.6 percent shooting from the field during his time there. Jones will have plenty of time to recover for training camp, but he's not a fantasy option in any format.
Jul 14 - 12:45 PM

Perry Jones III will play in summer league during July.

"Do the best I can to work on using my athleticism offensively and defensively," Jones said about his plans this summer. " Just want to be able to guard anybody." His offensive game needs some major work and he'll have to get better to take over as the team's starting shooting guard. Thabo Sefolosha is as good as gone, so Jones does at least have a shot.
Jun 2 - 1:03 PM

Coach Scott Brooks said he could make a change to the starting lineup.

The first thing that comes to mind here would be Serge Ibaka coming back at power forward in place of Nick Collison. Another likely scenario would be Perry Jones stepping in as the starting shooting guard or even Caron Butler. Thabo Sefolosha is having a disastrous series and he could even see less than his 10 minutes from Game 2.
May 24 - 4:14 PM

Perry Jones III played 24 minutes vs. the Spurs on Wednesday, scoring two points with four boards and one block.

Thabo Sefolosha started both halves, but played just 10 minutes. Clearly, coach Scott Brooks has no idea what to do with his lineups and he even went with a frontcourt of Steven Adams and Kendrick Perkins for a bit tonight. Brooks has been an easy target in his career for misplays on matchups, but the loss of Serge Ibaka shows their lack of depth.
May 21 - 11:32 PM

Perry Jones III came off the bench in Thursday's win over the Lakers.

Jones had started five straight games in the wake of Thabo Sefolosha's place, but coach Scott Brooks wasn't happy with his defense. That's where Andre Roberson excels. Jones came off the bench for seven points and five rebounds against the Lakers, leaving the Thunder's two-guard spot as a fantasy black hole.
