Jeremy Lamb headed to the bench with Nicolas Batum (elbow) active on Wednesday, putting up nine points (2-of-7 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), one rebound and one turnover in 21 minutes.
After the game he lamented the second unit's inability to get back on defense. "Our starters played great ... [but the second unit] didn't give the team a chance," he said. Lamb is averaging 30.9 minutes as a starter vs. 23.2 minutes as a reserve, so Batum's presence is an obvious barrier for his fantasy value, but owners should give him a few more games -- after all, he's been a top-80 value in a modest 27.5 minutes per game this season. Date:

Jeremy Lamb hit 6-of-17 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points and five rebounds in 33 minutes on Monday.

He was playing well even before Nicolas Batum's elbow injury resurfaced and should start for as long as Batum is out. Lamb should be owned in all leagues until further notice.
Dec 11 - 11:13 PM

Jeremy Lamb (shin contusion) and Frank Kaminsky (right ankle sprain) will play on Monday vs. the Thunder.

Nicolas Batum (elbow) is out on Monday and could miss additional time, so it's time to pick Lamb up if he was dropped in your leagues. Associate Head Coach Stephen Silas said Lamb will start barring a setback in warmups. Lamb has averages of 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.7 triples as a starter this season.
Dec 11 - 1:19 PM

Jeremy Lamb (shin) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Thunder.

Lamb wasn't able to play on Saturday and we don't have an update on his progress because the Hornets did not practice on Sunday. If Saturday's game was an indication, the Hornets will need Malik Monk, Treveon Graham and Dwayne Bacon to play larger roles if Lamb can't go. Keep in mind that Nicolas Batum (elbow) is also questionable.
Dec 10 - 1:03 PM

Jeremy Lamb (shin) will not play against the Lakers on Saturday.

After suffering his injury on Friday, he gets ruled out before warmups today. There has been no word of him getting re-evaluated and he figures to be day-to-day. With him out, Treveon Graham should be looking at solid minutes at both forward spots, Dwayne Bacon should be in the rotation, and maybe Malik Monk plays some shooting guard minutes.
Dec 9 - 5:24 PM

Jeremy Lamb (shin contusion) is doubtful for Saturday' game vs. the Lakers.

Lamb played just eight minutes on Friday night as he was unable to return for the second half. Assuming Lamb is unable to suit up on Saturday, Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon would see an uptick in playing time.
Dec 9 - 1:49 PM

Jeremy Lamb won't return to the second half of Friday's game vs. the Bulls with a shin contusion.

He lasted just eight minutes tonight, scoring four points with two boards and a block. Lamb was trending down before the injury and had just six points in 20 minutes vs. the Warriors on Wednesday, so fantasy owners in a tight spot may need to look elsewhere. In the meantime, rookies Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon will have to step up.

Dec 8 - 8:19 PM

Jeremy Lamb scored six points with six rebounds, one assist and two turnovers in 20 minutes against the Warriors on Wednesday.

This snapped a 10-game streak with double-digit points. Lamb's minutes have taken a hit now that the Hornets have their perimeter depth, but they may have to go smaller more often with some bigs going down. Still, he's worth owning in standard leagues despite how he's likely peaked already.
Dec 7 - 12:03 AM

Jeremy Lamb (left knee bursitis) scored 12 points with four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 25 minutes vs. the Heat on Friday.

He was considered questionable to play, so credit to him for playing through another injury -- he's also been bothered by a left hamstring issue. Lamb has held onto some decent value even with Nicolas Batum back, so his owners can continue to deploy him in fantasy lineups even though his workload isn't as high.
Dec 1 - 11:39 PM

Jeremy Lamb (left knee bursitis) will be available to play Friday vs. the Heat.

Lamb has yet to miss a game this season and been consistently solid since opening night. He's currently averaging career-highs across the board: 16.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.5 treys in 28.9 minutes per contest.
Dec 1 - 12:12 PM

Jeremy Lamb (left knee bursitis) is questionable to face the Heat on Friday.

He had some left hamstring problems earlier this month, so this could be slightly related. If Lamb can't suit up, that should mean Dwayne Bacon and Malik Monk may have to step up more.
Nov 30 - 3:53 PM

Jeremy Lamb had 18 points, three rebounds and three steals in a losing effort on Wednesday, making 7-of-13 shots with two 3-pointers, one steal and one block.

Steve Clifford said he was "shocked" by his team's lack of "effort and preparation" to begin the game, especially after resting for three days. Lamb should be spared in that evaluation -- he finished with the team's worst plus/minus rating, at -17 in 29 minutes, but that's not a fair reflection of his effort. The sixth-man job suits him well, so keep rolling him out there.
Nov 30 - 12:30 AM

Jeremy Lamb scored 12 points with five rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and three turnovers off the bench against the Spurs on Saturday.

The move to the bench hasn't hurt Lamb too much and it does help that there's very little help around him in the second unit. Coach Steve Clifford has said the plan on Lamb is to "give him minutes" even when the team is 100 percent, and his actions have matched his words. He's still a hold in standard leagues.
Nov 25 - 9:27 PM

Jeremy Lamb will move to the bench against the Spurs on Saturday.

Nicolas Batum (elbow) is back after missing one game, but Lamb has still been very good off the bench. In five games this year, he's averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 boards, 3.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 treys. While he may not be this good, he should still be owned in standard leagues.
Nov 25 - 6:02 PM

Jeremy Lamb hit just 4-of-15 shots in a start on Friday vs. the Cavaliers, scoring 11 points in 35 minutes.

You have to love the workload and Lamb salvaged his poor shooting line by adding seven rebounds, seven assists, one block, two steals and one 3-pointer. It's unclear how much time Nicolas Batum (elbow) will miss and he hasn't even been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. the Spurs yet, but Lamb has to be owned right now with averages of 16.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.8 triples in 12 previous fill-in starts.
