Kemba Walker, Jeremy Lamb (groin), Marvin Williams and Dwight Howard will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's season opener against the Pistons.
Head coach Steve Clifford hasn't yet announced his fifth starter, but there's a good chance that it'll be Dwayne Bacon moving into the starting five tonight with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (personal) and Nicolas Batum (elbow) on the sidelines. Lamb got in a full practice on Tuesday, and with the Hornets so thin on the wings, he figures to log heavy minutes in his regular season debut making him an intriguing low-budget option in daily leagues. Jeremy Lamb (groin), Treveon Graham (hamstring) and Julyan Stone (groin) all practiced in full on Tuesday.

The Hornets will be without Michael Carter-Williams (knees), Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (personal) and Nicolas Batum (elbow) on opening night, so they could really use Lamb, Graham and Stone on opening night. These guys getting through a full practice is certainly a positive sign, but we'll have a better idea on their playing status following Wednesday morning's shootaround. If Lamb is cleared to play, there's a good chance he'd start, and he should have some low-end value while Batum is out.

Jeremy Lamb (left groin soreness) practiced on Sunday and said afterward that he feels "great."

"I couldn’t run," Lamb said, explaining why he missed two preseason games. "I would have played horribly and I would have hurt it even more." It sounds like he'll be ready for the season opener, but owners should double-check his status on Monday and Tuesday. He's an intriguing fantasy flier, at least until Nicolas Batum (elbow) returns in 6-8 weeks.
Oct 15 - 7:27 PM

Jeremy Lamb (groin) will not play against the Mavs on Friday.

With Batum and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist also out, the Hornets have shifted Frank Kaminsky into the starting lineup and started Marvin Williams at the three. Coach Steve Clifford hasn't sounded too worried about Lamb and he announced him as the opening night starter, assuming no setback.
Oct 13 - 5:32 PM

Jeremy Lamb (groin soreness) will sit out Wednesday's exhibition against the Celtics.

Lamb was doubtful heading into this one, so it's no surprise to see him hit the sidelines, but he should be fine for opening night. The Hornets have suffered a slew of preseason injuries, which has opened up some opportunity for Lamb, and he'll likely be opening the year as Charlotte's starting two-guard with Nicolas Batum (elbow) out of commission. Lamb is worth considering towards the later rounds on draft day.
Oct 11 - 11:34 AM

Jeremy Lamb (groin soreness) is doubtful to play in Wednesday's preseason game against the Celtics.

Lamb exited Monday's exhibition with a sore groin, and there's zero incentive for the Hornets to risk him aggravating this injury, particularly with Nicolas Batum (elbow) set to begin the year on the sidelines. Lamb should be good to go for opening night, and he figures to start while Batum is out, so he could be worth a late-round pick on draft day.
Oct 10 - 3:58 PM

Jeremy Lamb hit 5-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, three rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes of Monday's preseason loss before leaving with a sore groin.

The injury doesn't sound serious and Lamb is a popular late fantasy pick with Nicolas Batum (elbow) expected to miss 8-12 weeks for the Hornets. We still don't have a definitive report on Batum, and Lamb has never been an explosive fantasy player, but he's certainly worth a late flier with Batum's future so murky.
Oct 9 - 11:13 PM

Jeremy Lamb (groin) is questionable to return to Monday's game vs. Miami.

The Hornets are calling it left groin soreness, so while it sounds minor, teams are usually overly cautious in the preseason. Kemba Walker also took a shot to the cheek and is questionable to return, but it didn't look serious either.
Oct 9 - 9:09 PM

Hornets coach Steve Clifford said Jeremy Lamb will move into the starting lineup with Nicolas Batum (elbow) out 8-12 weeks.

The Hornets have been gushing about Lamb since the start of the camp and the move to the first unit makes him a solid add in standard leagues. "He’s worked so hard, and not just for two months - steady work since he’s gotten here," Clifford said. "The more he’s worked, and the more he sees how his hard work is paying dividends, he’s notched it up even more." He's averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 triples in 25.0 minutes through two preseason games.
Oct 8 - 9:36 AM

Jeremy Lamb is set for an increased role with the Hornets for the first 20-34 games.

With Nicolas Batum (elbow) out 8-12 weeks, coach Steve Clifford will be calling upon his offseason pet. Lamb fared very well in his five starts last year, averaging 15.2 points, 8.2 boards, 2.6 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.0 treys. Although, he may face some competition from Malik Monk, but still Lamb's buzzy offseason makes him the main beneficiary.
Oct 5 - 5:05 PM

Jeremy Lamb made 5-of-9 FGs and 8-of-11 FTs for 18 points on Wednesday, adding three rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 27 minutes.

Nicolas Batum left very early with an elbow sprain, allowing Lamb to play extra minutes tonight. The 25-year-old swingman will be hard-pressed to improve upon last season's 9.7 points per game, which marked a career-high.
Oct 4 - 10:26 PM

Jeremy Lamb was very impressive in Monday's preseason opener vs. the Celtics, dropping 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting in 23 minutes.

The Hornets have been raving about Lamb's performance in training camp and now we know why. "This summer, I just tried to get my mind right," Lamb said. After five underwhelming years in the league, things are finally starting to click for the 25-year-old wing. He grabbed eight rebounds with three assists, one steal and two triples and it looks like he's ready to play a big role for the second unit.
Oct 2 - 10:44 PM

Coach Steve Clifford said he's "really excited" about what Jeremy Lamb has done this offseason.

Lamb is putting in the extra work this offseason and it's pretty easy to see why. After getting decent minutes the past two seasons, Lamb is headed for some added competition in the form of Malik Monk and perhaps even Dwayne Bacon, who had some tasty performances in summer league. Lamb will absolutely be behind Nic Batum and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, so don't expect him to get many minutes unless there is an injury.
Aug 31 - 7:33 PM

Jeremy Lamb scored 21 points in Tuesday's 103-76 blowout loss to the Hawks.

Kemba Walker (knee) was out and the Hornets limited the minutes of Nicolas Batum and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist among others, so Lamb logged 33 minutes on the night and finished 7-of-18 from the field with five rebounds, one assist, two steals and one triple. Lamb averaged just 18.2 minutes on the season prior to Tuesday, and while he was productive when called upon, the wing rotation was too crowded for him to make a significant impact. With Batum, MKG and Marco Belinelli all under contract next season, Lamb has his work cut out for him if he wants to earn a larger role next season.
Apr 11 - 9:53 PM

Jeremy Lamb scored 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting vs. the Celtics on Saturday.

Lamb is an interesting spot for the final two games of the season, as Marco Belinelli (finger) is banged up and the Hornets have been eliminated from the playoffs. The Hornets may be tempted to reduce the workloads of their studs or even shut them down, so Lamb could have some sneaky value in the final week of the season. He added five rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one triple in 25 minutes.
