Andrew Nicholson scored a team-high 18 points against the Cavs on Monday with eight rebounds, one steal and three 3-pointers.
He played 24 minutes tonight after logging just seven minutes on Saturday. Nicholson did play 22 minutes two games ago and coach Scott Skiles is just crazy enough to start Nicholson. Still, he's only worth a speculative add in 16-team leagues and is kind of an underdog to start. Nov 23 - 10:31 PM

Andrew Nicholson is not expected to receive a contract extension prior to Monday's deadline, a source told David Aldridge of

Nicholson has been an afterthought in Orlando for the last two seasons, and he desperately needs a new beginning in order to resuscitate his NBA career.
Nov 2 - 12:08 PM

After scoring 23 points on Saturday, Andrew Nicholson said he "wasn't being used right and I'm getting used better now."

He tends to shine in the preseason or when the games don't matter, so we have to dismiss this big game to a certain degree. Nicholson did have a nice run at Canada, but he is defense will likely hold him back -- coach Scott Skiles is preaching defense. If he does it a couple more times, that'll change things.

Andrew Nicholson is keeping the bigger picture in mind when it comes to his role with the Magic.

"You know, whatever it takes for us to be successful as a team, as a whole. I mean, people remember the wins as a team, not the individual stats and stuff. So as long as we keep winning, we're good," he said. A once intriguing fantasy commodity, Nicholson has fallen off a cliff now that he's been buried in Orlando's rotation. A trade is his best chance at resuscitating any value.

Canada's Andrew Nicholson scored 31 points in Friday's Pan-Am Games win over the United States, hitting 12-of-20 shots (including three triples) with 10 rebounds and one block.

Not to be outdone, Sim Bhullar scored five points with two rebounds and two blocks in 13 minutes. It has been a crazy Friday night.
Jul 24 - 9:05 PM

According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic could look to trade Andrew Nicholson.

Nicholson had a terrible 2014-15 campaign, and he averaged just 4.9 points and 2.1 boards in 40 appearances on the season. The Magic have a ton of depth at the power forward position which includes Channing Frye, Tobias Harris, Aaron Gordon and Kyle O'Quinn, and they could also pursue another big via the draft or free agency. Nicholson doesn't really fit in with players such as Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo because he doesn't run the floor well, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him in a different uniform next season.
May 10 - 9:58 AM

Andrew Nicholson will start next to Aaron Gordon at the forward spots against the Nets on Wednesday.

Nicholson has had some awful stretches and he's likely going to share minutes with Dewayne Dedmon. Unless you really need threes and boards from a PF, Nicholson isn't a great play.
Apr 15 - 6:54 PM

Andrew Nicholson will slide into the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. the Pistons with Dewayne Dedmon (ankle) unavailable.

This will be Nicholson's second start of the season. He managed to put up 13 points, six rebounds and three assists during his last stint with the starting unit, but he's only worth a look as a last-minute streamer option in very deep leagues.
Mar 27 - 6:56 PM

Andrew Nicholson started Sunday's game in place of Dewayne Dedmon (ankle), making 6-of-9 field goals on his way to 13 points, six boards and three assists in just 22 minutes.

Nicholson might have played more, especially with Channing Frye (illness) also unavailable, but he racked up five personal fouls in quick succession. There's no reason to target Nicholson with Dedmon and Frye both questionable to return on Wednesday.
Mar 22 - 8:51 PM

Andrew Nicholson will start at PF on Sunday with Dewayne Dedmon (ankle) and Channing Frye (illness) both unavailable.

Nicholson scored nine points in 18 minutes on Friday, his highest-scoring game in weeks, and he's an unreliable fantasy option despite the starting nod. Kyle O'Quinn and Aaron Gordon will also vie for minutes at PF, and the situation is too murky for any of them to have reliable value.
Mar 22 - 5:11 PM

Andrew Nicholson tied his season-high with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting vs. the Hornets, making one 3-pointer with four rebounds and one block in just 17 minutes.

This was the third time all season that he's scored double-digit points, which says plenty about his lack of fantasy appeal. Nicholson has at least seen daylight under interim coach James Borrego but he still belongs on the waiver wire.
Mar 1 - 8:55 PM

Orlando management is reportedly reluctant to trade away Andrew Nicholson for a minimal return, as they would like to see if new head coach James Borrego will be able to better utilize him.

Nicholson hasn't even stepped on the court since coach Jacque Vaughn was fired, so it's unlikely he'll suddenly become a relevant part of Orlando's rotation any time soon. He's averaging 3.1 points and 1.3 rebounds on the year, and he can remain on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Feb 17 - 4:57 PM

The Magic are reportedly open to trading Andrew Nicholson.

It doesn't come as a huge surprise that the Magic are open to trading a player who isn't part of their normal rotation, but the question is if there are any suitors. Nicholson could help a team in need of frontcourt depth like the Mavericks, but he can be ignored in even the deepest fantasy leagues at this point.
Feb 12 - 11:57 AM

Andrew Nicholson picked up a DNP-CD on Tuesday vs. the Pelicans.

This was a little surprising considering Channing Frye (knee) still isn't available, and that Klye O'Quinn was in foul trouble most of the night. Needless to say, Nicholson belongs on the waiver wire.
Tue, Oct 28, 2014 11:31:00 PM

The Magic picked up Andrew Nicholson's fourth-year contract option on Sunday.

Nicholson averaged 10.4 points, 4.4 boards, 1.6 assists and 0.8 steals in Orlando's final five preseason games. He's vowed to move back into the paint this season, after drifting toward the perimeter too often last year, but that's unlikely to salvage his fantasy value with Kyle O'Quinn coming on strong in the frontcourt.
