Andrew Nicholson scored five points in 12 minutes against the Knicks on Monday with one rebound and one 3-pointer.
Jason Smith took some of Nicholson's minutes tonight and has really been trending down. Nicholson doesn't have much of an upside anyway, so his fantasy owners in deeper leagues probably aren't tied to keeping him. Mon, Dec 21, 2015 11:24:00 PM

Andrew Nicholson scored 15 points off the bench on Monday with three rebounds, two steals and two 3-pointers.

This was a garbage-time special with 10 points coming in the fourth. Nicholson could be looking at more playing time, but he'll need Channing Frye to falter. Since the rotation change on Nov. 25, Nicholson has held 11th-round value over his last 10. He's more of a 14- or 16-team guy with limited upside.

Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel believes that the Magic could turn to Andrew Nicholson at power forward over Channing Frye.

Nicholson's career has been revitalized under head coach Scott Skiles, and he's averaging 9.0 points, 6.4 boards and 1.0 3-pointers over his last five games. Meanwhile, Frye has really struggled and has averaged just 2.2 points on 21.4 percent shooting over his last five, and it should be noted that Skiles said that he would consider shaking things up after the Magic were blown out by the Cavs on Friday. If you need a low-end big, give Nicholson a look.

Andrew Nicholson scored nine points with three rebounds and one 3-pointer in 14 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday.

He had five fouls, so that probably explains the low playing time. Since the rotation change on Nov. 25, Nicholson has played 23.2 minutes per game, but he doesn't block many shots and only has a 17.9 usage rate. He's only put up 11th-round value in that span, which is pretty close to his ceiling.

Andrew Nicholson scored eight points on 4-of-7 shooting with a career-high 14 rebounds on Tuesday vs. the Nuggets.

He played 21 minutes off the bench and head coach Scott Skiles has basically turned him into the primary big off the bench. Nicholson has averages of 11.4 points, 7.4 boards and 1.2 3-pointers in 24.4 minutes per game over his last five, so give him a look while he's hot.

Andrew Nicholson scored 14 points in 24 minutes against the Jazz on Thursday with two rebounds, one steal and two 3-pointers.

Coach Scott Skiles absolutely loves him as a backup power forward. Nicholson is basically the new Nemanja Bjelica as the backup power forward with range and backing up a player who plays in the teens. If you want to ride him until Skiles changes his mind, he's worth a look in standard leagues.

Andrew Nicholson played 31 minutes, hit 6-of-11 shots and finished with 15 points and six rebounds in Tuesday's win.

Channing Frye was scoreless in another start tonight and you have to wonder if Nicholson is the next player up. Nicholson feels like a Scott Skiles guy, He's averaging 11.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 1.4 3-pointers over his last five, and those numbers would likely go up if he replaces Frye as the starting PF.

Andrew Nicholson scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting vs. Boston, hitting two 3-pointers with eight rebounds and two steals in 23 minutes.

In the four games since claiming a larger role in Scott Skiles' rotation, Nicholson has averaged 10.5 points, 1.7 triples, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 24.0 minutes. Orlando has won three straight, so Nicholson isn't in imminent danger of losing his current role, and he's producing enough to be owned in leagues with 16 or more teams.

Andrew Nicholson played 25 minutes against the Bucks on Friday with three points, seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one 3-pointer on 1-of-7 from the field.

He played more minutes tonight than any other Magic big man. Nicholson was the first big off the bench and played minutes at both power forward and center tonight. He's still more of a 16-team guy, but coach Scott Skiles apparently likes him more than anyone in the NBA. Most owners should just keep an eye on him, especially since he didn't play well tonight.

Andrew Nicholson scored a team-high 18 points against the Cavs on Monday with eight rebounds, one steal and three 3-pointers.

He played 24 minutes tonight after logging just seven minutes on Saturday. Nicholson did play 22 minutes two games ago and coach Scott Skiles is just crazy enough to start Nicholson. Still, he's only worth a speculative add in 16-team leagues and is kind of an underdog to start.

Andrew Nicholson is not expected to receive a contract extension prior to Monday's deadline, a source told David Aldridge of

Nicholson has been an afterthought in Orlando for the last two seasons, and he desperately needs a new beginning in order to resuscitate his NBA career.

After scoring 23 points on Saturday, Andrew Nicholson said he "wasn't being used right and I'm getting used better now."

He tends to shine in the preseason or when the games don't matter, so we have to dismiss this big game to a certain degree. Nicholson did have a nice run at Canada, but he is defense will likely hold him back -- coach Scott Skiles is preaching defense. If he does it a couple more times, that'll change things.

Andrew Nicholson is keeping the bigger picture in mind when it comes to his role with the Magic.

"You know, whatever it takes for us to be successful as a team, as a whole. I mean, people remember the wins as a team, not the individual stats and stuff. So as long as we keep winning, we're good," he said. A once intriguing fantasy commodity, Nicholson has fallen off a cliff now that he's been buried in Orlando's rotation. A trade is his best chance at resuscitating any value.

Canada's Andrew Nicholson scored 31 points in Friday's Pan-Am Games win over the United States, hitting 12-of-20 shots (including three triples) with 10 rebounds and one block.

Not to be outdone, Sim Bhullar scored five points with two rebounds and two blocks in 13 minutes. It has been a crazy Friday night.

According to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, the Magic could look to trade Andrew Nicholson.

Nicholson had a terrible 2014-15 campaign, and he averaged just 4.9 points and 2.1 boards in 40 appearances on the season. The Magic have a ton of depth at the power forward position which includes Channing Frye, Tobias Harris, Aaron Gordon and Kyle O'Quinn, and they could also pursue another big via the draft or free agency. Nicholson doesn't really fit in with players such as Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo because he doesn't run the floor well, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him in a different uniform next season.
