Kenny Atkinson said he wants to find minutes for Andrew Nicholson.
"My next goal is Nicholson," said Atkinson. "I want to see what he has and I'm going to have to find a way to get him in games." Nicholson has been a negligible part of the rotation on most nights, but it sounds like Atkinson wants to bring him into the fold Brooklyn's final five games. That being said, until he's actually earning meaningful playing time, he belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues. Apr 2 - 6:24 PM

With Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) returning to the lineup on Tuesday, Andrew Nicholson will be inactive.

Very little fantasy impact here, as Nicholson had only been seeing sporadic minutes and was a DNP-CD in Brooklyn's previous game.
Mar 28 - 7:00 PM

Andrew Nicholson played 12 minutes with four rebounds and one assist against the Mavs on Sunday.

The Nets appear to want to get a look at Nicholson, but we'll see how long it lasts. He hasn't really done much and he could be a DNP-CD his next time out. He's only an add in super deep league.
Mar 19 - 2:40 PM

Andrew Nicholson scored a season-high 11 points with two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 17 minutes against the Celtics on Friday.

With Trevor Booker (leg) expected back on Sunday, Nicholson will likely go back to being a DNP-CD. Although, he might get minutes later in the year when the Nets start shutting down players.
Mar 17 - 11:41 PM

Andrew Nicholson made his debut for the Nets on Friday vs. the Jazz, scoring four points with four rebounds in six minutes.

He was a DNP-CD in his previous three games, but maybe the Nets take a look at him down the stretch -- he's on the books through the 2019-20 season. The Nets are using Rondae Hollis-Jefferson at the four and Trevor Booker is still making some noise, so Nicholson isn't close to being on the radar in standard leagues.
Mar 3 - 11:44 PM

The Nets acquired Andrew Nicholson in the Bojan Bogdanovic trade on Wednesday.

He might actually be getting some minutes. He has three years left on his deal, so this is not an expiring move and the Nets are actually taking on some long-term money. The Nets really like floor-spacing fours and Nicholson does take a lot of jumpers. Although, he's made just 29.5 percent on jumpers this year and they could certainly use the stretch provision if they don't like what they see. He's only worth a look in super deep leagues just because the Nets may unload more players.
Feb 22 - 4:13 PM

Andrew Nicholson was a DNP-CD on Friday.

He was bumped and he'll likely be bumped once Ian Mahinmi (knee) comes back anyway. Nicholson can be dropped everywhere.

Andrew Nicholson played 19 minutes off the Wiz bench on Thursday and hit 3-of-6 shots and a 3-pointer for nine points, seven rebounds, a steal and a block.

He was solid when he was on the court, but he's going to need more than 19 minutes to make a fantasy impact. Just keep an eye on him if you're in a deep league.

Wizards coach Scott Brooks said that Andrew Nicholson could play some center with Ian Mahinmi (knee) on the shelf.

"He can score down low at the block. He’s done a pretty good job of picking up how to guard the perimeter players that can shoot 3s," Brooks said. "He’s played multiple positions at those two big spots. You need versatility. He’s picked things up pretty good." He had two straight 19-point performances in the preseason and it sounds like he could be the first big off the bench ahead of Jason Smith. If you need a big in a deep league, Nicholson is worth putting on your watch list.

Coach Scott Brooks said he's been impressed with Andrew Nicholson.

He's had two really big games with back-to-back 19-point efforts coming into Friday. The Wizards are already dealing with some depth issues now that Ian Mahinmi (knee) is out. Nicholson has really struggled on defense at times, but he might make the rotation.

Andrew Nicholson was impressive vs. the Cavaliers on Tuesday, scoring 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting with eight rebounds, one assist, two steals and one trey in 26 minutes.

He's hot right now and is coming off a double-double on Thursday and a 19-point effort on Saturday. Meanwhile, Markieff Morris posted another dud with just six points on 3-of-11 shooting. Morris is still the starter, but Nicholson could chip away at his workload if he can keep this momentum going. He signed a four-year, $26 million deal over the summer, so he's going to be in the rotation. Just keep an eye on him.

Andrew Nicholson scored 19 points in 32 minutes against the Kings on Saturday, adding five rebounds and two 3-pointers.

There are going to be some minutes up for grab at the five with Ian Mahinmi (knee) expected to miss 4-6 weeks. Nicholson has been more of a power forward, but he's seen some minutes at the five in the past. Johnny O'Bryant also picked up some playing time with 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals in 19 minutes. Both of these guys will be behind Marcin Gortat, of course.

Andrew Nicholson is starting for Markieff Morris (foot) on Thursday.

He hasn't played too much in the preseason and scored a combined 15 points this month. Nicholson is fighting for playing time with Jason Smith and isn't a lock to be in the rotation.
Thu, Oct 13, 2016 07:04:00 PM

Andrew Nicholson said that he's working on his 3-point shot.

"It's something I'm working on, it's an important aspect of my game. The key is lots of reps, and we'll go from there," he said. Nicholson is a career 33.6 percent shooter from distance, and he shot a career-high 36 percent from behind the 3-point line last season. It makes sense for Nicholson to continue honing this particular skill.

Andrew Nicholson has agreed to a four-year, $26 million deal with the Wizards.

The 26-year-old forward averaged 6.9 points and 3.6 boards in 14.7 minutes per game for the Magic last season, but he did show some nice progress in March and April. Nicholson will likely come off the bench behind Markieff Morris in Washington, but he should be looking at minutes in the teens.
