Tyler Zeller played just 17 minutes on Wednesday, finishing with eight points, three rebounds, zero blocks and four fouls.
The foul trouble hurt him tonight and with Kelly Olynyk and Jared Sullinger unavailable, the Celtics when small with guys like Jae Crowder and Jonas Jerebko. Zeller should bounce back in the next one, but will take a hit once Olynyk is back from his ankle injury. Feb 25 - 11:19 PM

Date:

Tyler Zeller scored 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting with four rebounds, six assists and one block in Friday's loss to the Kings.

Zeller basically held his standard league value earlier in the year when he and Kelly Olynyk (ankle) see-sawed in their production for well over a month. Now that Jared Sullinger (foot) will be out for a while, he's a must-own player in standard formats.
Feb 21 - 4:09 AM

Tyler Zeller will start against the Kings on Friday.

The Celtics are basically out of options and Zeller may play big minutes tonight. Of course, he's going to have to guard DeMarcus Cousins tonight, so that might be a problem.
Feb 20 - 8:42 PM

Tyler Zeller had one of his better games of 2015 against the 76ers on Friday, scoring 16 points with nine rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in 26 minutes.

Yes, this was against the 76ers, but Zeller still deserves some credit here because some others have struggled against Nerlens Noel recently. Coach Brad Stevens went with Zeller down the stretch because he was having so much success. Zeller has solid averages over his last five of 12.6 points, 7.2 boards, 1.2 assists and 0.6 blocks on 50.0 percent from the field. He's worth owning in standard leagues.
Feb 7 - 1:12 AM

Tyler Zeller scored 14 points in 27 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday with five rebounds and two turnovers.

He didn't play well and had no other stats. Zeller was very good in his last start on Sunday with 17 points and he might stick in the starting lineup due to Jared Sullinger being tardy to the party because of traffic two times in the last four days. He's a hold in fantasy leagues while Kelly Olynyk (ankle) is out.
Feb 4 - 11:26 PM

Tyler Zeller will start for the Celtics on Wednesday, as Jared Sullinger will be benched after showing up late to shootaround.

Zeller has been considerably more productive when starting this season, and opportunistic owners should think about deploying him during his temporary promotion. In 27 starts this season, Zeller has averaged 10.9 points on 54.2 percent shooting, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.8 blocks.
Feb 4 - 5:49 PM

Tyler Zeller scored 17 points in his return to the starting lineup on Sunday, adding six rebounds, four assists and two turnovers over 32 minutes of action.

Jared Sullinger was late to shootaround on Sunday, which landed him on the bench, and brought Zeller back into the starting lineup. It's unclear if Zeller will remain a starter for Tuesday's game against the Knicks, but the move to the starting lineup is a obviously a good thing for his value. If he does start again on Tuesday, he'll be someone to consider in daily leagues with a favorable matchup against New York.
Feb 1 - 5:00 PM

Tyler Zeller will draw the start over Jared Sullinger for Sunday's game vs. the Heat.

Jared Sullinger was reportedly late to shootaround due to traffic problems, so this isn't a permanent switch by any means. Sullinger should still see plenty of action considering that Kelly Olynyk is sidelined with an ankle issue, so owners can deploy him like they normally would. Zeller is prone to foul trouble, and faces a tough matchup against Hassan Whiteside, so owners in daily leagues should take that into consideration.
Feb 1 - 11:20 AM

Tyler Zeller scored six points with nine rebounds, one assist and four fouls in 20 minutes against the Wolves during a 110-98 loss on Wednesday.

He's coming off a big game on Monday, but there will be some bad games mixed in from the bench big man. Zeller is still worth owning in standard leagues until Kelly Olynyk returns next month.
Jan 29 - 12:24 AM

Tyler Zeller scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds and two blocks in 29 minutes off the bench on Monday.

Even when Kelly Olynyk was around Zeller was a guy to hold in most standard leagues because the peaks and valleys added up to solid late-round value at a minimum. With Olynyk out of the picture through the All Star break there should be no question about whether or not he should be owned.
Jan 26 - 11:54 PM

Tyler Zeller scored 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting with six rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench on Friday.

This line isn't great but Kelly Olynyk is likely going to be out beyond the All Star break and even if he wasn't Zeller would be a guy to own in 12-team formats.
Jan 24 - 4:23 AM

Tyler Zeller played 16 minutes against the Blazers on Thursday with seven points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

Kelly Olynyk (ankle) is going to miss some time, so there are about 25 minutes up for grabs. Zeller hasn't played more than 19 minutes in any of his previous four games and he's having a horrible run in the last two weeks. In his last six games, he's averaged just 6.0 points, 5.2 boards, 0.5 blocks and 0.2 steals on 34.1 percent from the field. He was a top-50 guy for about three weeks in December and should be more reliable sans Olynyk, so he's worth grabbing in standard leagues in hopes he turns it around.
Jan 23 - 3:01 AM

Tyler Zeller will come off the bench against the Blazers on Thursday.

He's really, really struggled. In his last five games, Zeller only made 31.6 percent from the field for averages of 5.8 points, 5.4 boards, 1.8 assists and 0.4 blocks. His coach has certainly lost a lot of confidence in him and fantasy owners should feel the same. If there's a promising player on the wire, it's not a bad idea to cut Zeller even though this lineup change could be temporary.
Jan 22 - 8:38 PM

Tyler Zeller had a rough night against the Hawks on Wednesday with two points, five rebounds, three assists and two turnovers.

Well, that hot December seems like a distant memory. Zeller played just 16 minutes tonight and he's made a putrid 4-of-22 from the field in his last three games. If you're really sick of holding him and another guy has your attention, it makes sense to drop him.
Jan 15 - 12:07 AM

Tyler Zeller scored two points with four rebounds, two assists and one block in 21 minutes against the Pelicans on Monday.

He just can't handle the bigger front-courts. He's faced three elite big men in a row and it's led to his production and minutes dropping in a big way. Zeller averaged just 5.0 points and 4.7 boards in his last three, so it's harder to defend him as a hold these days.
