Tyler Zeller will be inactive for Wednesday's season opener against the Pacers.
Zeller is the fourth-string center on the roster, so it'll take at least a few injuries for him to even get into the rotation in Brooklyn. Oct 18 - 11:13 AM

Date:

Tyler Zeller is reportedly finalizing a two-year deal with the Nets.

Zeller will likely serve as the third-string center in Brooklyn, so there's no reason to pay him any attention in fantasy hoops. As a side note, this news should end any speculation of Brooklyn extending an offer to Jared Sullinger.
Sep 11 - 7:01 PM

Free agent Tyler Zeller worked out recently for the Nets.

The Nets have 14 players under contract for next season and are reportedly looking to add a big man with their final roster spot. In addition to Zeller, they have worked out Jared Sullinger as well. Zeller averaged 3.5 points and 2.4 rebounds in 10.3 minutes over 51 games for the Celtics last season.
Sep 9 - 9:16 AM

The Celtics waived Tyler Zeller on Sunday.

Zeller was on the books for $8 million next season, but his career averages of just 7.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest don't really justify that sort of payday, so it's not at all surprising to see him get cut before that salary became guaranteed.
Jul 2 - 5:19 PM

The Celtics are likely to waive Tyler Zeller on Sunday, according to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.

It'll be just before Zeller would be due to make $8 million for next season, so this isn't a surprise. While coach Brad Stevens did start Zeller in the second half a handful of times, the Celtics are looking to go in a different direction with their power forward spot.
Jul 1 - 4:37 PM

Tyler Zeller started the second half of Game 2 vs. Chicago, finishing with four points and one rebound in eight minutes.

Amir Johnson was invisible and the Bulls had 10 offensive rebounds in the first half, so the Celtics had to make a change. There's a chance that Zeller could start Game 3, but his minutes would likely be in the teens if that happens. There's not much fantasy appeal here.
Apr 18 - 10:51 PM

Tyler Zeller will start the second half of Game 2 vs. the Bulls for Amir Johnson.

The Celtics were getting destroyed on the glass just like in Game 1, so the move makes sense. After playing just three minutes in Game 1, Zeller could have a larger role in this series in an attempt to keep Robin Lopez off the offensive glass.
Apr 18 - 9:30 PM

Tyler Zeller scored two points with two rebounds and two assists in nine minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

He got some playing time against his brother's team after a DNP-CD on Thursday. Zeller probably wouldn't have played had Amir Johnson (illness) been active.
Apr 8 - 9:12 PM

Tyler Zeller (personal) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Cavs.

Zeller rarely exceeds the 10-minute mark for the Celtics, so his absence from tonight's game won't have any meaningful impact in fantasy hoops.
Apr 5 - 6:21 PM

Tyler Zeller did not practice on Tuesday.

It's unclear exactly why Zeller didn't practice, but he's a non-factor in the rotation anyway. Leave him on the wire.
Apr 4 - 3:52 PM

Celtics coach Brad Stevens said he's been looking to give Tyler Zeller "some reps."

"Because I think if you look at all the different teams that we may play [in the playoffs], there's a good amount of size," Stevens said on Wednesday. "And, you know, he's played against those guys in a lot of scenarios and done pretty well. And he's been ready and he came in and boosted us again tonight." While Zeller is back in the rotation for now, he's only played a combined 16 minutes in his last two games and Stevens hinted that he's going to tweak his rotations based on the matchups. That means he could be a DNP-CD on any given night. There's no fantasy appeal here.

Mar 23 - 11:18 AM

Tyler Zeller (illness) struggled on Sunday, going scoreless with five rebounds and three turnovers in six minutes.

Zeller didn't look good at all tonight and coach Brad Stevens opted for Jordan Mickey (three boards in nine minutes) after the first half. Zeller's illness may have been the cause of tonight's dud, but either way his role is too small to expect fantasy production.
Mar 5 - 8:15 PM

Tyler Zeller (illness) is probable to play Sunday vs. the Suns.

Zeller could get into the rotation today with Al Horford (elbow) on the sidelines, but it's unlikely he'll see enough minutes to matter in most settings. Leave him on the wire.
Mar 5 - 4:05 PM

Tyler Zeller (illness) will not play against the Lakers on Friday.

He's not really in the rotation with single-digit minutes in every game since the break, so he can stay on the wire in just about all leagues.
Mar 3 - 9:08 PM

Tyler Zeller played just seven minutes on Thursday and had two points and three rebounds.

Even with Jae Crowder (personal) out, Zeller could barely find the court tonight. Kelly Olynyk played 23 minutes off the bench and had a nice game, and is a much better reserve center to take a flier on than Zeller.
