Will Barton looked great on Tuesday, getting a start for injured Gary Harris (ankle) and hitting 9-of-16 shots, 5-of-5 3-pointers and 3-of-5 free throws for 26 points, four rebounds and a season-high eight dimes in a 127-121 win over the Lakers.
It's too bad the Nuggets can't play the Lakers every night, right? Barton was aggressive and looked fantastic, and it's time for the Nuggets to think about starting him over Harris, even when Harris is healthy. Barton was iffy coming into this one with the flu, but played in his last game and was never really in doubt for this one. And as long as Harris is out, Barton's worth using in any format. He scored 21 on Monday with seven boards and three 3-pointers. Jan 18 - 1:14 AM

Will Barton (illness) will play on Tuesday vs. the Lakers and he's going to draw the start.

He was listed as probable, but he's looking at a lot of minutes in the absence of Gary Harris (ankle), making him a popular play in DFS. The Nuggets play three more times this week after tonight, so pick Barton up if he's available.
Jan 17 - 9:19 PM

Will Barton (illness) is listed as probable for Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers.

Barton if fully expected to play on Tuesday, just as he did Monday night (logging 24 minutes off the bench), when he was also listed as probable. Gary Harris (ankle) is listed as doubtful, which means there is a chance Barton slides into the starting lineup on Tuesday. Barton has started 14 games this season and is averaging 14.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in those 14 contests. He is a intriquing DFS option is Harris is ruled out
Jan 17 - 2:08 PM

Will Barton (illness), Gary Harris (right groin soreness) and Danilo Gallinari (left ankle soreness) are all expected to play Monday vs. the Magic.

All these guys are probable, so owners can go ahead and plug them into their starting lineups with confidence.
Jan 16 - 4:05 PM

Will Barton scored 21 points in a start for Gary Harris (groin) on Saturday, adding seven rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

He actually got into some foul trouble early in this game or he would've been well over 30 minutes. Harris was a late scratch and there's no word if he'll miss time going forward, but Barton just has to be picked up right now.
Jan 7 - 10:55 PM

Will Barton is starting in place of Gary Harris (groin) against the Thunder on Saturday.

We still don't know what is wrong with Harris, but his groin injury may have been an aggravation. Whatever the case, Barton shouldn't be on any waiver wires right now. He should be looking at minutes in the upper 30s tonight.
Jan 7 - 8:08 PM

Will Barton played just 16 minutes against the Kings on Tuesday, scoring three points with five rebounds, one steal and one triple.

He only hit 1-of-3 shots and lost some minutes tonight because Darrell Arthur (knee) had the hot hand off the bench. Barton is prone to duds, but he did average 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 triples in his previous two games, so standard-league owners could do worse.
Jan 4 - 12:45 AM

Will Barton hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 27 minutes off the bench in Monday's 127-119 loss to the Warriors.

Barton had just six points on Dec. 28, but scored 11 on Friday and played well tonight. Gary Harris is starting and hurting Barton's minutes a bit, but Barton is still worth using in almost all formats.
Jan 3 - 1:04 AM

Will Barton scored six points with two assists and one steal in 19 minutes against the Wolves on Wednesday.

Gary Harris was really locked in on both ends and Danilo Gallinari was in a good rhythm as well, so the minutes just were not there for Barton. He has been really good before this game with 32.7 minutes per game over the previous three, so Barton's owners shouldn't panic here.

Will Barton scored 23 points in Monday's win over the Clippers with eight rebounds, six assists and three triples in 32 minutes.

If there was ever a time for the Nuggets to deal Barton it would be right now, as he's put together three solid games in a row with averages of 19.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.0 triples in that span. Barton hit 8-of-14 shots from the field and 4-of-5 from the line and eclipsed the 32-minute mark in three straight games, and he's holding onto value despite competing with a plethora of Denver wings. He's worth owning in standard leagues and a trade wouldn't be the worst thing for his fantasy value.

Will Barton said he wants to stay with the Nuggets.

"I don’t pay any attention to it, I try not to let it enter my mind and enter things that I’ve got going on," Barton said about the recent trade rumors. "I’m here, I like it here." The move to the bench hasn't hurt Barton at all. In fact, his points per game are higher off the bench while his efficiency is much better. Barton should hold some value in standard leagues.

CSN Wizards Insider J. Michael said the team is not interested in trading for Will Barton.

Chris Haynes of ESPN reported earlier in the week that the Wizards and Pelicans reached out to the Nuggets to gauge the availability of Barton, but added that the talks were "exploratory." Barton is going to be mentioned in plenty of trade rumors because of his bargain contract and the logjam on the wings in Denver, so stay tuned to the player news page for the latest update.

Will Barton scored 22 points in Tuesday's blowout defeat to the Clippers, shooting 9-of-15 from the field in 32 minutes.

The game was over by the third quarter which explains the spike in minutes, but it's worth noting that Barton's name popped up in a trade rumor right before tip-off -- Chris Haynes of ESPN reported that the Pelicans and Wizards have expressed interest in Barton. A trade could be a good thing for his value with Gary Harris and Jamal Murray competing with him for minutes, so feel free to stash him if you have the roster spot. He will be a headache to own while he's in Denver, though.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, the Pelicans and Wizards are among the teams that have reached out to the Nuggets to gauge the availability of Will Barton.

Barton has a bargain contract at $3.5 million per year through the 2017-18 season and his name has been floated around in trade rumors in the past. It would make some sense for the Nuggets to move Barton with Gary Harris excelling as the starting SG, and Denver likely wants to open up more minutes for guys like Jamal Murray and Malik Beasley. Barton could see a bump in value with a trade, so stay tuned to the player news page for further updates. To be clear, the talks are in the "exploratory" stage.

Will Barton came off the bench and played 24 minutes, hitting 4-of-7 shots for 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer on Monday.

Gary Harris is starting at shooting guard and is on fire right now, while Nikola Jokic, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari and Emmanuel Mudiay are all playing heavy minutes. It's going to be tough for Barton to get enough run to make a big fantasy impact right now, especially if Kenneth Faried bounces back after a zero-point night. Barton is a borderline hold in fantasy with Harris killing it, but he did show a glimpse of hope tonight.
