Will Barton scored just one point with three rebounds in Tuesday's loss to the Clippers on Tuesday.
The Nuggets don't have a lot of size right now due to some injuries and Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan were having their way in the paint, so Denver was forced to play big for most of the game which limited Barton to 20 minutes. There's no reason for his owners to panic considering he averaged 15.6 points, 1.4 3-pointers, 6.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks in his previous five games, so expect him to bounce back vs. the Spurs on Friday. Will Barton kept up his strong play vs. Golden State on Sunday, scoring 19 points (7-of-10 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs) with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.

He turned the ball over four times but it was still an impressive game vs. the Warriors' defense, and Barton scored all but six of the Nuggets' bench points. He's a must-own player until further notice -- in his past five games he's averaging 15.6 points with excellent percentages, 1.4 triples, 6.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.0 blocks and only 1.2 turnovers.
Nov 22 - 10:49 PM

Will Barton bounced back on Friday against the Suns with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes.

He was red hot in the first half with all 14 points coming before the break, but he fizzled out in the second half. Barton wasn't really responsible for the Suns knocking down 3-pointers all over the place, so he's probably still set for minutes in the mid 20s. He should be owned in all leagues.
Nov 21 - 2:36 AM

Will Barton played 22 minutes vs. the Spurs on Wednesday, scoring nine points on 4-of-10 shooting with four rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and zero turnovers.

It's a mild letdown after his torrid three-game stretch, but San Antonio will have that effect on opponents -- they are allowing the fewest points of any team in the league this season. Barton should be owned in all competitive leagues at this point.
Nov 19 - 12:11 AM

Will Barton described his style of play during a recent interview, saying that getting to the rim is his number one priority.

"I like contact. I like to get hit. I like to hit people," said Barton. "I’m not waiting for someone to knock me over, I’m going into it. It’s easier that way. It comes from being from Baltimore, growing up playing outside, being tough and learning from my environment. The rim is where I want to get. No doubt." Barton has been en fuego to begin the 2015-16 season with averages of 14.5 points, 5.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 three-pointers per game on 48.7 percent shooting from the field and 90.3 percent from the stripe. He's still not owned in enough leagues (64 percent in Yahoo!) given that he's currently putting up third-round (9-cat) and fourth-round (8-cat) value, so go ahead and swoop him up if he's still available.

Nov 18 - 8:36 AM

Will Barton stayed hot during a 115-98 win over the Pelicans on Tuesday, scoring 17 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, two blocks and three 3-pointers.

This guy is on fire. Barton started the second half and this matchup played right into coach Mike Malone's hands with so much small-ball. In his last three, he's averaged 20.7 points, 8.0 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals, 1.0 blocks and 3.3 treys on 54.8 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the line. He has third-round value on the season and top-five value in that aforementioned three-game span.
Nov 18 - 1:21 AM

Will Barton (shoulder) will play on Tuesday vs. the Pelicans.

Barton was probable heading into this one, so this news is far from surprising. His minutes have been trending upwards as of late, and he logged a season-high 37 minutes in his last one, so go ahead and get him active for a favorable matchup with New Orleans.
Nov 17 - 7:05 PM

Will Barton (shoulder contusion) is probable to play against the Pelicans on Tuesday.

He had a little bit of a fall on Saturday, but he was able to return. Barton is one of the hottest fantasy properties out there and should be owned in all leagues. With Wilson Chandler (hip) out for the season, Barton's minutes appear to be safe going forward.
Nov 16 - 2:51 PM

Will Barton scored 19 points with 12 rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes on Saturday.

He has to get more minutes now. Barton has third-round value on the season, so calling him a must-add player doesn't even do him justice.
Nov 15 - 12:37 AM

Will Barton was excellent off the Nuggets bench during Friday's win over the Rockets, putting up a career-high 26 points to go with five boards, two steals, four 3-pointers and two turnovers through 31 minutes of work.

Will "The Thrill" Barton has been living up to his name, and he's been one of the better surprises of the 2015-16 season. He's found a home in Denver, and with Wilson Chandler (hip surgery) done for the year, Barton's role with the Nuggets will be safe moving forward. He's currently posting top-50 value on the season with averages of 12.3 points, 4.0 boards, 1.1 steals and 0.5 blocks per game on 45.5 percent shooting, and he isn't owned in nearly enough leagues (just 25 percent in Yahoo! Leagues). Go ahead and swoop him up off the waiver wire if he's available in your league.
Nov 14 - 1:01 AM

The Nuggets are expected to go small against the Rockets on Friday.

That means Will Barton should be in the starting lineup and Kenneth Faried will be the center. J.J. Hickson would be less appealing. We'll have an update soon.
Nov 13 - 7:28 PM

Will Barton played 23 minutes off the bench and hit 4-of-7 shots and a 3-pointer for 11 points, three rebounds and an assist on Monday.

Barton has quietly hit double figures in every game this season and is averaging 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, 0.8 3-pointers and is shooting 43 percent from the floor and 91 percent from the line. He is worth owning in most leagues right now, but keep an eye on whether him coming off the bench tonight was a one-time thing or a permanent move.
Nov 10 - 12:10 AM

Will Barton will come off the bench for Monday's game against the Blazers.

The Nuggets need some size tonight, so J.J. Hickson will draw the start. Barton started vs. the Warriors on Friday and finished with 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting with eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in 39 minutes, but he will lost a lot of value in a bench role.
Nov 9 - 7:38 PM

Will Barton said his job is to "go fill the stat sheet up."

After reading those comments, those with Barton on the roster have to be encouraged. "I just love the makeup that he has, his passion for the game and how hard he plays," Mike Malone said. "I think that's contagious for the rest of the guys as well." Barton started Denver's last game and played 39 minutes en route to 19 points, eight rebounds, five dimes, two steals, a block and two triples, and he gets his chance at revenge against the team that traded him away, the Portland Trail Blazers, on Monday night.

Nov 9 - 11:48 AM

Will Barton started as the Nuggets went small against the Warriors on Friday and he went off, scoring 19 points on 7-of-16 shooting (including two threes) with eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in 39 minutes.

Barton is a bit of a stat magnet and he's getting nowhere near this much run going forward, but he has been a top 40-75 play this season (9/8 cat) and it's not all just because of this one game. He'll have to get by Wilson Chandler's (hip) return somehow to make it work for owners, but there are worse players we can think of stashing in a 12-team format.
