Will Barton played only 22 minutes vs. Detroit on Wednesday, but he scored 20 points on 7-of-12 FGs and 5-of-6 FTs, with five boards, two assists, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer.
Mike Malone heaped praise on Barton recently, saying, "He's been very impressive. He's up for Most Improved Player and Sixth Man of the Year for a reason, right?" That didn't earn Barton much playing time tonight, however, and it'll be hard for him to be more than a mid-round option while logging 25-28 minutes a night. Feb 11 - 12:43 AM

Will Barton scored 19 points and snared 11 rebounds vs. the Knicks on Sunday, adding five assists, one steal and one block with zero turnovers in 29 minutes.

Barton shot 7-of-12 from the field and 5-of-6 from the FT line, an efficient performance that helped Denver beat the Knicks for their 10th road win this season. Although his name has come up in trade whispers, the Nuggets are reportedly not interested in dealing Barton -- it's easy to see why, as the 25-year-old has established himself as a Sixth Man of the Year candidate.

According to the Denver Post, the Nuggets are not looking to trade Will Barton.

The Nuggets have received several calls for the exciting guard and have even been offered first-round picks for him, but Denver is committed to him for the long run. The Denver Post states that the Nuggets treat him like a "gem" and that they will fight to hold onto him. His value should be safe for the remainder of the season.

Will Barton played 23 minutes off the bench and had 10 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and a block on 5-of-8 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Jazz.

More minutes, please. The Nuggets love the defense of Gary Harris and he played nearly twice as many minutes as Barton did. Barton still put up a decent line, but would be a lot more fun to own these days if he had Harris' role.
Feb 4 - 12:35 AM

Will Barton dropped 20 points with seven boards, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers in Monday's win over the Raptors.

He had a six-point dud in 17 minutes vs. the Pacers on Saturday, so it was nice to see him get back on track. He is going to struggle with consistency because coach Michael Malone adjusts his rotations based on his opponents, but Barton is still worth owning in all leagues. He has scored 20 or more points 14 times this season.
Feb 2 - 12:00 AM

Will Barton scored six points in 17 minutes against the Pacers on Saturday with two rebounds, one assist and three turnovers.

Like most bench players, there will be some inconsistency. Plus, he will be at the mercy of coach Mike Malone going with a regular lineup, which hurts because Barton is at his best when he's in the small-ball lineups. Still, he's a hold in all leagues and played well in his previous three.
Jan 30 - 10:14 PM

Will Barton and Danilo Gallinari each scored 23 points to lead the Nuggets on Wednesday, with Barton adding five rebounds, four assists and one block in just 26 minutes.

Will the Thrill sank 8-of-12 shots including three 3-pointers, giving him back-to-back games with 20+ points after an extended lull to begin 2016. He won't reach the heights he attained as the go-to option while Gallo was injured, but Barton remains a solid rest-of-season option for fantasy purposes.
Jan 27 - 10:44 PM

Will Barton played just 19 minutes in Saturday's win over the Pistons, scoring seven points on 2-of-10 shooting.

He added just two boards, one assist and one 3-pointer, but this was the second time in the last three games that he has been limited to 19 minutes (he played 29 minutes on Thursday vs. Memphis). Coach Michael Malone has been keeping Barton on a shorter leash lately, but his outlook for the second half of the season is still promising and he should be considered a mid-round guy moving forward.
Jan 24 - 12:22 AM

Will Barton bounced back on Thursday during a 102-101 loss to the Grizzlies, scoring 14 points with six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.

He only played 19 minutes on Tuesday, but that game was a fluke with at least 26 minutes in al of his other games since Jan. 10. Barton won't be the early-round guy he was from December because Danilo Gallinari and Emmanuel Mudiay are back, but he still should be a mid-round asset.
Jan 22 - 12:26 AM

Will Barton played just 19 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Thunder, scoring six points with three boards, two assists and one block.

The Thunder utilized their bigs a lot in this one, so Barton's playing time suffered because of that. He shot just 1-of-6 from the field and turned the ball over twice, so that certainly didn't help either. Regardless, Barton was coming off a 21-point performance vs. the Pacers on Sunday, so his owners can just view this game as a minor bump in the road. Barton is still worth starting in all leagues.
Jan 20 - 12:19 AM

Will Barton finished Sunday's tough victory vs. Indiana with 21 points on 8-of-17 shooting, three 3-pointers, six rebounds, three assists and one block in 31 minutes.

Barton lit up the internet when he fist-bumped a baby on his way off the court at halftime, but it was his on-court highlights that helped Denver hang on for a 129-126 win tonight (see the link below). He went through a mini-slump in early January but has recovered in his past three games with averages of 17.0 points, 2.0 threes, 7.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.7 blocks and only 1.3 turnovers.

Jan 17 - 11:11 PM

Will Barton scored 21 points on 11 shot attempts during Wednesday's victory, hitting 7-of-11 from the field with two 3-pointers, six boards and two assists in just 26 minutes of action.

This should calm the nerves of Barton's owners. He was lousy in the Nuggets' previous four games, averaging a mere 7.0 points on low percentages, but it was a matter of time before he got back on track. The Thrill should be active in all lineups.
Jan 14 - 1:09 AM

Will Barton showed marginal improvement on Sunday with 10 points, eight rebounds, three assists and a pair of 3-pointers in 30 minutes of action.

This snaps a streak of three single-digit games for Barton, who had played 26 or fewer minutes in each of those contests. The buy-low window remains open, so take advantage before he inevitably strings together a few big games.
Jan 10 - 10:52 PM

Will Barton struggled again on Friday, scoring just six points on 3-of-11 shooting to go with nine boards and zero other statistics in 21 minutes of action.

Barton has hit his first cold stretch of the season, but for a guy with fourth-round value on the year, we need to give him a little bit of an extended leash. He'll get a much more favorable matchup against the Hornets on Sunday, so owners should anticipate a bounce-back performance this weekend.
Jan 9 - 2:55 AM

Will Barton scored seven points with six rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes against the Wolves on Wednesday.

That's two sub-par games in a row with only five points coming on Sunday. Barton is still going to get his playing time at both wing spots and he should be closer to 30 minutes most nights. His usage rate won't be quite as high while Danilo Gallinari is healthy, but he should still be considered as an early round-ish fantasy asset.
