Will Barton's slump continued on Saturday, scoring just two points on 0-of-9 shooting from the field with three assists, one board, one block and one steal in 21 minutes.
He had a dream matchup with the Kings, so this is very disappointing. He was 0-of-8 from the field in his previous outing and is obviously ice cold right now. Barton is capable of posting some monster lines when he's on, but he's also capable of some major duds as well. The Nuggets play just three times next week, so he's not a must-own player unless he heats up again. Apr 3 - 12:20 AM

Will Barton missed all eight shots from the field and went 6-of-7 from the line for six points against the Pelicans on Thursday, adding three rebounds, four assists, one steal, one block and three turnovers.

Just when it looked like he was rolling, Barton puts up one of his worst games of the season. He also had an 0-of-3 line back on Mar. 23 just before his nice run. Barton gets a wonderful matchup against the Kings on Saturday.
Apr 1 - 12:16 AM

Will Barton dropped 25 points in 33 minutes on Wednesday, making 6-of-12 FGs and 9-of-12 FTs with four 3-pointers, six rebounds, three assists and one block.

Before the game coach Mike Malone heaped praise on Barton, calling him a candidate for Most Improved Player as well as Sixth Man of the Year. "He has obliterated all of his previous career highs and season highs, and he's been a mainstay for us off the bench," Malone said. Barton didn't take off immediately after Danilo Gallinari's injury, but he is heating up with averages of 19.3 points, 2.8 triples, 5.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in his past four games.
Mar 30 - 10:59 PM

Will Barton scored 23 points on 7-of-14 shooting in a 97-88 loss to the Mavericks on Monday.

He was solid tonight and added eight boards, two assists and five triples in 32 minutes. Barton will post a dud every once in a while, but he has averages of 16.2 points, 4.8 boards, 2.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 2.2 triples over his last five games, shooting 55.8 percent from the field in that span. Pick him up if he's somehow still available in your league.
Mar 29 - 12:03 AM

Will Barton scored 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting Sunday, to go with three boards, three assists, one 3-pointer, one steal, two blocks and one turnover in 30 minutes.

Consistency tends to be an issue with Will the Thrill, although he's been playing better over his past four games owning averages of 14.5 points, 4.0 boards, 2.8 assists and 1.5 triples on 57.9 percent shooting, which has been good enough for late-round value in standard leagues. The Nuggets play four games next week, with one of those games coming on a light, six-game Thursday night, so Barton could be worth swooping up if he was dropped during the cold streak.
Mar 27 - 6:53 PM

Will Barton scored 16 points with five rebounds, four assists and one 3-pointer against the Lakers on Friday.

It's been up and down all month since Danilo Gallinari (ankle) went down. Barton still has a big upside for any given game, so he's worth owning in standard leagues.
Mar 26 - 2:03 AM

Will Barton missed all three shots from the field and made both free throws for two points against the 76ers on Wednesday, adding four rebounds, three assists and five turnovers.

It's his second game without a field goal make this month and Barton continues to kill his fantasy owners. He still hasn't seen a dip in playing time, so fantasy owners might want to hang in there. That said, he's not a must-own player anymore because owners should have a "what have you done for me lately" mentality.
Mar 24 - 12:32 AM

Will Barton scored 27 points with four rebounds, one assist, two steals and four 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Cavs on Monday.

Finally. Barton was having a horrendous March before this game, making just 38.8 percent from the field with averages of 11.0 points, 6.0 boards, 2.2 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.4 blocks and 0.8 treys in his previous 20. He scored 29 points in his last game against the Cavs and apparently likes going against LeBron and company. He should still be owned in standard leagues with his added opportunity.
Mar 21 - 10:00 PM

Will Barton said he takes pride in being a closer for the Nuggets.

"I take pride in being a crunch-time player and a player that is a closer," Barton said. "Fourth quarter, that is when the game matters the most. That’s when it’s man time." Barton is 12th in the NBA in fourth-quarter scoring at 6.0 points per game, and he's a top candidate for the Sixth Man of the Year Award. He's also been very inconsistent, but he's still worth owning in standard leagues.
Mar 20 - 9:30 AM

Will Barton played 23 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday with 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.

This is a somewhat disappointing game from Barton because Kenneth Faried (back) was out. He did play some minutes at the power forward spot, but he wasn't involved in the offense much. Barton has been a massive flop since the Danilo Gallinari (ankle) injury and has lost his must-own status in shallower leagues.
Mar 19 - 8:57 PM

Will Barton had 15 points and four rebounds on 5-of-8 shooting in 32 minutes off the bench on Tuesday.

He was 0-for-6 and held without a point on Monday, but at least scored some points tonight. He didn't have an assist, steal, block or 3-pointer, and is far from the player we saw the first half of the season. If you were giving Barton a one-game audition to keep hi spot on your fantasy team tonight, he likely passed. But he's no longer a must-start player, depending on who you might be able to plug into his place.
Mar 15 - 9:41 PM

Will Barton missed all six shots from the field and did not go to the line on Monday against the Heat, adding four rebounds and one turnover.

The Thrill was about as thrilling as watching grass grow and watching paint dry. Barton was expected to really step up when Danilo Gallinari (ankle) went down, but has been awful. In those nine games, he averaged 12.0 points 6.6 boards, 2.3 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.6 treys on 36.4 percent from the field. He should still be worth owning in most cases, but he is certainly on thin ice in shallower leagues.
Mar 14 - 10:17 PM

Will Barton double-doubled vs. the Wizards on Saturday, finishing with 14 points, 10 boards, two assists, one block, one steal and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes.

He was 6-of-12 from the field tonight and has now shot 50 percent from the field in three out of his last four games. Barton should see minutes close to 30 on most nights and Danilo Gallinari (ankle) won't be coming back any time soon, so keep him locked into your lineups if you don't mind the occasional bump in the road.
Mar 13 - 1:02 AM

Will Barton scored 17 points with eight boards, three assists, one block, one steal and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes vs. the Suns on Thursday.

The pace of the game really benefitted Barton tonight and he was able to shoot an efficient 6-of-12 from the field. He's been very inconsistent since Danilo Gallinari (ankle) went down and had a six-point dud vs. the Knicks on Tuesday, but the upside is there and hopefully this performance will be a sign of things to come.
Mar 11 - 12:02 AM

Will Barton played 21 minutes and hit 3-of-8 shots for six points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and nothing else on Tuesday.

Barton is in the discussion for Most Improved Player and might have won it if the voting would have taken place in January. But he's been hit-or-miss for the last couple months, and his last five games are evidence of that: 6, 20, 9, 11 and 9 points in each of them. He's no longer a must-start player, but if you catch him on the right night, he can still help your team. The fact remains that Gary Harris has actually become a more reliable player, at least for now.
