Will Barton scored 10 points with four rebounds, two assists and no turnovers in 24 minutes against the Pacers on Friday.
He'll be losing some run now that Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler are back. Barton was in a serious slump before the Gallo injury last week with only a two-point, 16-minute game in the game prior to the Gallo injury, so Barton's fantasy owners should be expecting a drop in production. If there's a hot free agent or you want to stream, Barton is a possible drop candidate. Mar 25 - 12:50 AM

Will Barton finished with 24 points, eight assists and seven rebounds with a steal and a blocked shot in 30 minutes off the bench in Monday's loss at Houston.

After a handful of uneven performances Barton is back on track. He is averaging 22.8 points, 5.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds over his past four outings. Barton stepped up his game with Wilson Chandler (groin) and Danilo Gallinari (knee) sidelined, but his fantasy value will take a hit once those two are healthy enough to return.
Mar 21 - 12:23 AM

Will Barton made 2-of-13 from the field for 10 points with one rebound, four assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Rockets on Saturday.

Live by the Thrill, die by the Thrill. He was coming off a career-high 35 points and just couldn't hit open shots with a 1-of-9 shooting line from deep. Barton will be playing big minutes while Danilo Gallinari (knee) and Wilson Chandler (groin) are out, so he should be worth owning in standard leagues until we get a timeline on those two.
Mar 19 - 12:49 AM

Will Barton scored a career-high 35 points against the Clippers on Thursday, adding five rebounds, three assists, one block and seven 3-pointers.

Those seven treys also match his career best. Barton took full advantage of Danilo Gallinari (knee) and Will Barton (groin) not playing today, and both of those forwards have an unclear return date. Barton was trending down big time coming into the week because of guys like Jamal Murray coming for his minutes, but he basically has a vertical line upward trend right now. He should be owned in standard leagues while Gallo and Wil-Chand are out.
Mar 17 - 12:45 AM

Will Barton finally showed signs of life against the Lakers on Monday with 22 points.

Wilson Chandler (groin) was out, so Barton reached the 30-minute mark for just the second time in his last nine games. He hit 7-of-12 shots with six assists, two rebounds, one block, one steal and four triples, and coach Michael Malone praised him after the game. "We needed that man, Will Barton is such an important piece to what we have," he said. If Chandler misses another game, Barton will be back on the radar as a pickup even though he's been eerily quiet for the past couple weeks.
Mar 14 - 2:12 AM

Will Barton scored two points with three rebounds, one assist and one block in 16 minutes against the Kings on Saturday.

Uh oh. That's now a decrease in playing time in each of his last four games. Danilo Gallnari is back, Gary Harris is hot, and now Jamal Murray is getting minutes at the two, so Barton is not looking good. He's also slumping hard, making just 31.0 percent from the field in his last five. With only three games next week, Barton may not be someone you want to have on your team in a fantasy playoff matchup. He's droppable for a hot free agent.
Mar 12 - 3:56 AM

Will Barton scored 16 points in 32 minutes off the bench against the Kings on Thursday, adding two rebounds, one block and two 3-pointers.

One small win for Barton today is that the Nuggets used Jamal Murray at the one tonight. Going forward, that situation is unclear because sticking with that plan would mean the team is keeping Emmanuel Mudiay out of the rotation. Still, Barton's playing time should be around 30 minutes most nights, making him a hold in standard leagues.
Feb 24 - 12:57 AM

The Nuggets are "open to trading" Will Barton, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

As you've probably heard, the expectation is Danilo Gallinari and/or Wilson Chandler could be dealt. Barton has a very, very cap-friendly deal with $3.5 million for next season. If he is traded, that would be good news for Jamal Murray. He's still not a stash in standard leagues.
Feb 23 - 9:57 AM

Will Barton shifted to the bench on Wednesday and notched 18 points with nine rebounds, two assists and one block, making 7-of-15 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs in 38 minutes.

Mason Plumlee started tonight and coach Mike Malone shifted Barton to the bench to give the second unit some scoring punch. It's a role he seems to prefer for Barton, who continues to put up solid value no matter where he begins the game. His role could change if Denver makes more trades during the break, but either way he's worth holding rest-of-season.
Feb 15 - 11:46 PM

Will Barton will return to Denver's bench on Wednesday vs. the Timberwolves.

Mason Plumlee is getting a surprise start tonight, but we've seen Barton play well enough as a reserve that it's not a big deal. Denver is so short-handed that they'll still need him to log heavy minutes.
Feb 15 - 8:34 PM

Will Barton moved into the starting lineup on Monday vs. the Warriors and was phenomenal, scoring 24 points with 10 rebounds, seven assists, one steal and four triples in 41 minutes.

The Nuggets were down to nine active bodies with Wilson Chandler (illness), Mason Plumlee (trade), Emmanuel Mudiay (back), Danilo Gallinari (groin), Kenneth Faried (ankle) and Darrell Arthur (knee) all out, so Barton took full advantage of his opportunity. He shot 9-of-19 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line with three turnovers, and he was basically a must-play option in all formats tonight. He should have another strong game on Wednesday vs. the Wolves even if the Nuggets get a few bodies back, so roll him out there with confidence.
Feb 14 - 12:19 AM

Will Barton is starting on Monday vs. the Warriors.

He's going to see all the minutes he can handle, as the Nuggets only have nine players available tonight. Barton is a must-start option in all leagues and should be picked up everywhere.
Feb 13 - 8:41 PM

Will Barton scored 15 points with 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes against the Knicks on Friday.

He was one of the best sixth men in the NBA last year and was terrific in that role today. Barton should have another big chance on Saturday and could actually move into the starting lineup. He'll be able to put up numbers regardless, so keep him rolling in standard leagues.
Feb 10 - 10:12 PM

Will Barton started the second half of Wednesday's game in place of Kenneth Faried (ankle), finishing with 17 points (6-of-19 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocks in 38 minutes.

Barton thrived with Faried out for personal reasons on Monday, and it looks like he'll earn more starts if the ankle injury costs Faried any games -- he left the arena on crutches, so that's a safe bet. Barton's line would have been better if he'd made any of his nine 3-point attempts, and he's a fine low-end option even when he's coming off the bench. He makes sense as a pickup where available.
Feb 8 - 11:59 PM

Will Barton started the second half for Kenneth Faried (ankle) on Wednesday.

This was the expected move for the Nuggets with Faried out for the game. Barton started on Monday with Faried out for personal reasons. Will The Thrill should be owned in standard leagues.
