Furkan Aldemir (heel) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Hornets.

Aldemir missed practice due to the plantar fasciitis he's dealing with on his right foot, and while head coach Brett Brown contends, "it's not as bad as it sounds," Aldemir is not looking likely for Friday's game against Charlotte. He played just 10 minutes in his NBA debut on Monday, so he can safely be left on the waiver wire.
Dec 18 - 1:22 PM

Furkan Aldemir suffered a bruised right heel and missed part of practice on Wednesday.

There is no indication that he will miss any time, but we will still monitor his status closely. Aldemir made his NBA debut on Monday, but saw just 10 minutes of action and looked very raw. You can leave him on the waiver wire in almost all leagues.
Dec 17 - 1:44 PM

Furkan Aldemir scored two points in his NBA debut on Monday with two rebounds and one assist in 10 minutes.

He saw first half action tonight, so it wasn't just garbage time. Aldemir is still nowhere near getting on the radar in most leagues and he looked very raw tonight. He's only worth a look in ridiculously deep leagues.
Dec 15 - 10:15 PM

Furkan Aldemir is officially active on Monday against the Celtics.

"Welcome to Philly. You've got Sullinger,"coach Brett Brown said. It's an interesting quote from Brown and perhaps he's going to get in the rotation. However, fantasy owners should take a wait-and-see approach in almost any case. Henry Sims would likely lose minutes, if Aldemir does play.
Dec 15 - 5:33 PM

Sixers sign F Furkan Adlemir.

Aldemir will be immediately active, but it's not clear what his role in the rotation will be just yet. He can be left on the waiver wire.
Dec 15 - 12:35 PM

Furkan Aldemir has reportedly landed a four-year, $12 million deal with the 76ers, with the first two-years guaranteed.

Aldemir could be ready to go for Monday's game vs. Boston, but owners in standard leagues can use a wait-and-see approach with the Turkish big man, as his upside is limited.
Dec 14 - 6:26 PM

Furkan Aldemir finally received his visa and is expected to join the 76ers very shortly.

If he was coming to any other team, he would not be on the fantasy map at all. However, this is the 76ers we are talking about and it wouldn't be out of the question if he became a part of the rotation at some point this season. However, Aldemir's game is limited and owners in standard leagues can monitor him comfortably from the waiver wire.
Dec 14 - 12:38 PM

Furkan Aldemir will likely come to an agreement with the 76ers in the next couple of weeks, but according to one NBA scout, he'll be a "marginal NBA player" at best.

"He is very limited at the offensive end," said a scout. "And the problem with that is that he is 23 years old, he has been playing professionally over there for a while so it's not like he can improve much on his shortcomings." When the scout was posed with the question as to whether Aldemir could be as good of an NBA player as Lavoy Allen, the scout responded: "If he could get himself to be as good as Lavoy Allen, that would be a very big improvement for him." When Aldemir does finally come to an agreement with the 76ers, owners in standard leagues can use a wait-and-see approach with the 23-year-old big man, but he doesn’t look to be a game-changer.
Nov 28 - 10:01 AM

The Sixers have reportedly agreed to a deal with Turkish power forward Furkan Aldemir.

They acquired his draft rights in 2013 and it's not clear when he'll be joining the team. Aldemir could wind up getting in the rotation and is probably one of the more talented players on the team. He has averages of 7.8 points, 6.2 boards and 1.3 blocks in 20.7 minutes per game in Euroleague this season.
Nov 24 - 5:17 PM

The Sixers acquired the rights to Furkan Aldemir in a trade on Thursday.

He's going to stay overseas and the details on the reason for his inclusion on this deal are still sketchy. Aldemir was a second-round pick in 2012 and isn't expected to make an impact in the NBA in the near future.

There is reportedly a "good chance" that the Rockets will sign Turkish PF Furkan Aldemir next season.

Aldemir is an impressive rebounder and defender, but his offensive game remains very raw. He's 21 years old and averaged a mere 17 minutes per game for his Turkish team in 2012-13, and fantasy owners can safely assume he won't help their teams as a rookie.

The Rockets have reportedly traded for Turkish big man Furkan Aldemir as a part of the Lamar Odom/Mo Williams deal.

Aldemir was the No. 53 overall pick in Thursday night's draft by the Clippers, and this move comes as no surprise after the team was reportedly planning to move him. He's set to stay in Europe until 2014.

The Clippers took Turkish big man Furkan Aldemir with the 53rd pick in the draft.

They plan on moving him, according to several sources, but he might be able to play in the NBA. He's 6-10 and a strong rebounder, and can also shoot it. But he'll have to add some beef to his frame to be able to bang under the boards at an NBA level. He's also locked up in Europe until 2014, so whatever team he lands with likely won't have to worry about him for a couple years.

The Cavaliers are said to be looking at Turkish forward Furkan Aldemir early in the second round of Thursday's draft.

He's locked up in Europe until 2014 and could be a project, but also looks like a nice guy to draft-and-stash this year.
