Furkan Aldemir is reportedly finalizing a four-year deal with Darussafaka of Turkey.

This move pretty much rules out the previous report that Aldemir was going to return to the 76ers via the hardship exception. He struggled at the NBA level, so he'll head back overseas.

The 76ers reportedly applied for the hardship exception, and reportedly plan on signing Furkan Aldemir if granted a 16th roster spot.

The hardship exception is granted to teams that have had at least four players sidelined for at least three games, and with Tony Wroten, Kendall Marshall, Joel Embiid and Carl Landry all nursing various injuries, the 76ers should be granted the additional roster spot. That being said, the guy they add to the roster (likely Aldemir) won't have any fantasy value.

Sixers waive F/C Furkan Aldemir.

He had a guaranteed contract for almost $3 million, but the 76ers finally decided to cut the offensive liability. Aldemir's nickname is Mr. Rebound, but he's also Mr. Not Anything Else on the basketball court. He will probably be headed overseas.

Furkan Aldemir (plantar fasciitis in right foot) ramped up to 80 percent practice intensity on Monday.

Plantar fasciitis can flare up at any time, so the Sixers will be extra cautious with how quickly Aldemir does more on the court. He has no fantasy value.

Furkan Aldemir (foot) practiced at 50 percent intensity on Sunday.

Aldemir has plantar fasciitis which can linger if it's not treated properly, so expect the 76ers to proceed with caution. Aldemir is not a fantasy option.

Furkan Aldemir (foot) will not play on Friday vs. the Celtics.

Aldemir is dealing with plantar fasciitis which is an injury that can linger, so he could be out for a little while. Aldemir won't have any fantasy value while Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor are active.

Furkan Aldemir only made it through half of the 76ers' practice due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Plantar fasciitis is an injury that can linger so Aldemir could be sidelined for a while. Known for his tenacious rebounding, Aldemir isn't on the fantasy radar.

Furkan Aldemir scored 12 points with 14 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 26 minutes on Friday.

The 76ers paid him a lot of money, but he hasn't lived up to it. Aldemir sure can rebound -- his nickname is Mr. Rebound of course -- but he can't do much else. His upside is too low to draft.

Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer said that Furkan Aldemir might be the player who improved the most since last season.

Interesting. Aldemir did look pretty good during the summer league and even showed a willingness to shoot 3-pointers. Aldemir is already an excellent rebounder, but he still has a lot of work to do in order to carve out any real fantasy value. It also doesn't help that Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor are poised for major roles this season.

Furkan Aldemir grabbed 15 rebounds in Thursday's preseason loss to the Jazz, and also added five points on 1-of-4 shooting with three blocks and six personal fouls in 32 minutes.

Block totals in Summer League can rise with fouls not being an issue. Aldemir wasn't jacking up threes tonight (he missed his only try) and we already knew he could rebound the basketball. He does look a bit stronger and that's not all that surprising. He has some major work to do if he wants to be on the fantasy radar, but his summer has at least been moderately interesting so far.

Furkan Aldemir put on a show vs. Boston on Tuesday, knocking down three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks in 28 minutes.

Aldemir is in great shape and has been focusing on his corner 3-pointer this summer, but this is the epitome of a Summer-League fluke -- he went 0-of-5 from downtown during the course of the entire 2014-15 season. That said, he's a rebounding machine and it sounds like he'll vie for a significant bench role.

Furkan Aldemir grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked two shots over 29 minutes in Monday's preseason loss to the Spurs.

Aldemir did not score on three field goal attempts and the only skill owners can really bank on is his rebounding. The Sixers did pay Aldemir decent guaranteed money last season so it's possible they'll want to feed him minutes, but he's still off the fantasy radar until he shows us a lot more.

Furkan Aldemir will not play against the Heat on Wednesday.

It's the ultimate tank game and not even Aldemir was invited. He is unlikely to be in the rotation next season. Henry Sims, Jerami Grant and Robert Covington will get most of the frontcourt minutes.
Wed, Apr 15, 2015 07:59:00 PM

Furkan Aldemir played 29 points against the Hornets on Saturday with eight points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

With Nerlens Noel (eye) suffering a cut, Aldemir picked up some extra run. He was actually playing much better late and has played at least 17 minutes in each of his last four. Aldemir is not a scorer and is more of a Reggie Evans-type guy, so he's not someone most fantasy owners should be eager to grab.
