Furkan Aldemir grabbed 15 rebounds in Thursday's preseason loss to the Jazz, and also added five points on 1-of-4 shooting with three blocks and six personal fouls in 32 minutes.
Block totals in Summer League can rise with fouls not being an issue. Aldemir wasn't jacking up threes tonight (he missed his only try) and we already knew he could rebound the basketball. He does look a bit stronger and that's not all that surprising. He has some major work to do if he wants to be on the fantasy radar, but his summer has at least been moderately interesting so far. Furkan Aldemir put on a show vs. Boston on Tuesday, knocking down three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks in 28 minutes.

Aldemir is in great shape and has been focusing on his corner 3-pointer this summer, but this is the epitome of a Summer-League fluke -- he went 0-of-5 from downtown during the course of the entire 2014-15 season. That said, he's a rebounding machine and it sounds like he'll vie for a significant bench role.

Jul 7 - 9:23 PM

Furkan Aldemir grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked two shots over 29 minutes in Monday's preseason loss to the Spurs.

Aldemir did not score on three field goal attempts and the only skill owners can really bank on is his rebounding. The Sixers did pay Aldemir decent guaranteed money last season so it's possible they'll want to feed him minutes, but he's still off the fantasy radar until he shows us a lot more.
Jul 6 - 9:05 PM

Furkan Aldemir will not play against the Heat on Wednesday.

It's the ultimate tank game and not even Aldemir was invited. He is unlikely to be in the rotation next season. Henry Sims, Jerami Grant and Robert Covington will get most of the frontcourt minutes.
Apr 15 - 7:59 PM

Furkan Aldemir played 29 points against the Hornets on Saturday with eight points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

With Nerlens Noel (eye) suffering a cut, Aldemir picked up some extra run. He was actually playing much better late and has played at least 17 minutes in each of his last four. Aldemir is not a scorer and is more of a Reggie Evans-type guy, so he's not someone most fantasy owners should be eager to grab.
Apr 4 - 9:44 PM

Furkan Aldemir is working to adjust to the NBA.

"I'm learning to play with my teammates and in the NBA. But still I'm just trying to learn what they are doing, what I need to do. Every day, I'm working on my individual things - my shooting, my post moves - and I think I improved my body and my skills. I want to use this opportunity." Adelmir has lost about 10 lbs and lowered his body fat since playing for the Sixers, and he said "the running" is the hardest part of his transition. Aldemir is coming off a career game with 11 points and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes on Sunday.
Mar 30 - 1:19 PM

76ers big man Furkan Aldemir started Sunday's game and finished with a career-high 11 points, 10 rebounds, one steal and zero turnovers in 27 minutes.

Aldemir is a tenacious rebounder whose overall rebound rate of 18.1 percent ranks second on the Sixers, behind only Thomas Robinson (23.1 percent). Unfortunately, Aldemir doesn't score (his previous career-high was four points) or contribute enough defensive stats to be a viable option in standard leagues. Just keep an eye on him for now.
Mar 29 - 7:14 PM

Furkan Aldemir will start at center for Sunday's game vs. the Cavs, sliding Nerlens Noel over to the four-spot, and sending JaKarr Sampson to the bench.

The Sixers will go with a starting unit of Ish Smith, Robert Covington, Jerami Grant, Noel and Aldemir. This will be Aldemir's second start of the season, but the last time he entered the starting lineup he failed to score through 20 minutes of action while adding just five rebounds and three blocks. He can remain on the waiver wire in nearly all leagues.

Luc Mbah a Mouta will replace Furkan Aldemir in the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. Toronto.

Aldemir is very raw, and was scoreless during his 19 minutes of action on Wednesday. Leave him on the wire.
Jan 23 - 6:25 PM

Furkan Aldemir did not score in 19 minutes during his first start of his career on Wednesday, adding five rebounds and three blocks.

He attempted just one shot from the field, which isn't a surprise based on his 7.6 usage rate on the season. Aldemir really has no offensive game, so he's going to have a tough time being a fantasy asset even if he somehow gets 25-28 minutes.
Jan 21 - 10:51 PM

Furkan Aldemir will start against the Knicks on Wednesday.

His nickname is Mr. Rebound and he's held up his reputation this season with 3.9 boards per game in 10.5 minutes. Aldemir has a 7.6 usage rate this season, so his potential fantasy owners shouldn't be expecting him to score much. He'll have a chance for double-digit boards, though.
Jan 21 - 5:29 PM

Furkan Aldemir (heel) returned to action on Friday in a five-minute effort.

Aldemir's contract is the only reason we've tracked the guy and he has yet to really show his stuff at the NBA level. He can be watched from the wire.
Sat, Dec 27, 2014 02:14:00 AM

Furkan Aldemir (heel) is available to play against the Blazers on Friday.

He's not necessarily a lock to be in the rotation tonight after missing three games. Aldemir is very raw and won't make much of an impact this season.
Fri, Dec 26, 2014 08:41:00 PM

Furkan Aldemir (heel) is a game-time decision to play against the Blazers on Friday.

He has been out for a week due to his injury suffered in practice on Dec. 17. Aldemir is not going to get much playing time and he's a major project for Philly. He's not worth owning in almost any league.
Fri, Dec 26, 2014 02:29:00 PM

Furkan Aldemir (heel) will miss Tuesday's game against Miami.

There isn't much of a fantasy impact here, but it's looking like Aldemir's plantar fasciitis may keep him out for extended time. Owners in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues can feel free to move on from Aldemir.
