Mike Scott matched his season-high with 22 points on 9-of-10 shooting in Friday's win over the Clippers, adding four rebounds, two steals and two triples.
He apparently likes playing against the Clippers, as had 22 points against them on Dec. 9 as well. Markieff Morris (groin) returned from a one-game absence tonight, but he played 21 minutes compared to 24 for Scott. He's been coming on really strong lately and may have turned this position battle into a timeshare. He has seven 3-pointers combined over his last four games and is trending up for deep-league owners. Dec 15 - 10:30 PM

Date:

Mike Scott will move back to the bench against the Clippers on Friday.

Markieff Morris is going to start, but don't forget Scott went off against the Clippers over the weekend. It's possible this is a timeshare for now, but Scott is still tough to count on while Morris is in the lineup.
Dec 15 - 5:45 PM

Mike Scott made his first start of the season on Wednesday, posting 10 points, five rebounds, one block and a pair of 3-pointers in 27 minutes vs. the Grizzlies.

Markieff Morris was a late scratch due to hip soreness, which bumped Scott up in the rotation. If Kieff misses more games, expect coach Scott Brooks to continue riding the hot hand -- Scott is a scorching 25-of-35 from the field (71.4%) over his past five games. Even so, his role is too unreliable to pick him up in most fantasy formats.
Dec 13 - 11:49 PM

Mike Scott will start Wednesday's game in place of Markieff Morris (sore right hip).

This will be Scott's first start of the season, and he's an interesting option as a DFS punt, given his rock-bottom price in most leagues. He's not a great pickup in standard leagues, though, as long as Morris is day-to-day.
Dec 13 - 6:51 PM

Mike Scott made 9-of-11 from the field for 22 points with eight rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes against the Clippers on Saturday.

He played down the stretch and he was a key offensive contributor to help the Wizards score 31 in the fourth. Scott had made 8-of-8 from the field in his previous two games over 28 minutes combined, so he certainly was able to carry that momentum in this tough loss. Scott isn't going to stay this hot, so really the big takeaway here is Markieff Morris' leash could be a little shorter.
Dec 9 - 7:08 PM

Mike Scott hit 5-of-8 shots and a 3-pointer for 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 20 minutes on Tuesday.

He didn't even play on Saturday, but had 13 points and three 3-pointers in his previous game. As long as Markieff Morris and Kelly Oubre are healthy, Scott has no fantasy value, but he has been surprisingly good this season when given an opportunity.
Nov 28 - 10:45 PM

Mike Scott returned to the rotation on Wednesday with 13 points, four rebounds and one turnover in 19 minutes of action.

Scott made 5-of-7 shots, including a 3-of-5 mark from downtown, but this comes on the heels of a DNP-CD on Monday. He's a matchup-based special and there's too much risk to even try streaming him.
Nov 22 - 10:41 PM

Mike Scott came off the bench and hit 6-of-8 shots and three 3-pointers for a season-high 15 points and five rebounds in 26 minutes of Monday's easy win over the Kings.

With the exception of Jodie Meeks and Markieff Morris, the Wizards shot it lights-out tonight and Scott has now scored in double digits in two straight games. Both of those games were lopsided scores and Scott got 25.5 minutes in those two after getting just eight minutes of run in each of his previous two games. Just keep an eye on him in case this isn't somehow a fluke.
Nov 13 - 10:01 PM

Mike Scott scored 12 points with eight rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday.

He stepped up with the Wizards missing Otto Porter (illness). With Markieff Morris set to return this weekend, it's possible Scott can get ahead of Jason Smith for second-unit minutes. Most fantasy owners can keep him on the wire, though.
Nov 1 - 10:24 PM

Mike Scott finished with 14 points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench on Friday at Golden State.

Scott was hot, hitting 4-of-7 from the field while going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. He entered the game with a total of 14 points over his past three outings, and he had hit just 3-of-15 from the floor in the past two games. He has been too inconsistent to start, and the team is also monitoring his minutes after his ankle surgery last year.
Oct 28 - 1:46 AM

The Wizards want to monitor Mike Scott's minutes this year.

He had ankle surgery last year, so it's no surprise the Wizards will make sure they don't overwork him. With Markieff Morris (sports hernia) out to start the year, it's possible Scott gets in the rotation. However, it'll likely be Kelly Oubre and Jason Smith benefiting most.
Sep 30 - 4:06 PM

Wizards sign F Mike Scott.

It's a minimum deal worth $1.7 million for the former Hawk. Now that Bojan Bogdanovic is in Indiana, the Wizards are going to need to add some shooting in their second unit. Still, Scott isn't a lock for the rotation, especially with how well the Wizards fared with their small-ball group last season.
Jul 8 - 2:23 PM

Mike Scott is finalizing a minimum deal with the Washington Wizards, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Scott is coming off a disappointing season. He appeared in just 18 games for Atlanta in 2016-17 and averaged career-lows in points (2.5) and rebounds (2.1), while shooting just 28.8 percent from the floor. He was traded to the Suns in February for cash considerations and then was quickly waived by Phoenix. It is unlikely he'll see consistent minutes in Washington and thus is not expected to have any impact in standard fantasy leagues.
Jul 4 - 9:25 AM

A Georgia superior court issued a ruling to suppress all evidence and dismiss a felony drug case against Mike Scott on Tuesday.

The judge presiding over Scott's case ruled that there was no "probable" cause to arrest Scott and his brother after a traffic stop on July 30, 2015; and that the search of Scott's vehicle was not conducted properly. Scott will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and he should have a much easier time landing his next contract with this case no longer pending.
May 2 - 5:00 PM

Suns waive F Mike Scott.

He is likely to clear waivers and could get some interest as a stretch four. Scott being hurt this season hurt his chances to get run, especially with Paul Millsap healthy for most of the season.
