Henry Sims is expected to start next to Nerlens Noel for the 76ers to begin the season, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
It's hardly a surprise after Sims' terrific April with the 76ers, averaging 14.9 points, 7.3 boards, 0.6 steals and 0.3 blocks on 54.4 percent from the field. He isn't a starting-caliber big man in the NBA, but the 76ers aren't exactly the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. Sims is on the radar as a late-round target in standard leagues. Sep 25 - 8:17 PM

Date:

Henry Sims had 22 points, eight rebounds and a block on 10-of-15 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Raptors.

Sims has been a blast to own and is finishing the season on a high note, averaging 16.0 points and 7.8 rebounds over his last five games. And with no other centers in sight in Philly, he should continue to play well until the final buzzer.
Apr 9 - 10:48 PM

Henry Sims logged a double-double against the Nets on Saturday with 11 points, 11 boards and five fouls in 28 minutes.

He didn't block any shots and this was one of his least productive games in a while. The loss of Byron Mullens (ankle) gave him some extra opportunity, and Sims certainly didn’t squander it. He is getting to the line a lot and taking plenty of good shots around the rim as a nice complement to Thaddeus Young in the frontcourt. The former bench-warming Cavalier is now a strong player to own in standard leagues.
Apr 5 - 10:28 PM

Henry Sims scored a career-high 24 points on 5-of-10 shooting (14-of-18 FTs) with nine rebounds and no steals or blocks in Friday's win over the Celtics.

Sims has been a nice pickup for owners as a top-100 play over the last two weeks and he is a must-own player in all but the shallowest of formats. Michael Carter-Williams added 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting with six rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in the win.
Apr 4 - 11:42 PM

Henry Sims had a quiet evening against the Hawks on Monday with eight points, five boards, two assists and one steal in 27 minutes.

He was coasting before tonight and his momentum came to a halt. Sims still saw plenty of action tonight and his playing time is not in jeopardy. His owners can keep him rolling against the Bobcats on Wednesday.
Mar 31 - 10:59 PM

Henry Sims looked great against the Pistons during Saturday's 123-98 win with 16 points, seven boards, one assist and one block in 27 minutes.

The Pistons may look like a decent defense on paper, but they are prone to giving up some big lines to centers. Believe it or not, Sims is playing very well over his last five with averages of 15.6 points, 9.6 boards, 2.8 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.8 steals on 56.9 percent shooting. Those are must-own numbers.
Mar 29 - 10:07 PM

Henry Sims scored 18 points in his 26 minutes of action during a 120-98 loss to the Rockets on Thursday, adding six boards, two assists, one steal and one block.

It was his birthday today and he celebrated it matching up against Dwight Howard and tying the NBA record for most consecutive losses. Of course, Sims wasn’t with the team back when he joined after the trade deadline. As far as specifics go, he’s played very well and really has no competition, so he should be owned in standard leagues. Plus, it helps that garbage time won’t hurt him.
Mar 27 - 10:34 PM

Henry Sims scored 10 points with seven boards, seven assists and two steals in 33 minutes vs. the Spurs on Monday.

He played just 8.4 minutes per game in only 20 outings with the Cavs, but your 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers have played him 29.0 minutes per game over his last five. Sims put up averages of 11.4 points, 10.2 boards, 3.0 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.6 blocks in that span, which makes him a player worth owning in standard formats.
Mar 25 - 1:05 AM

Henry Sims had 18 points, a career-high 15 rebounds and two blocks on 8-of-15 shooting in Saturday's loss to the Bulls.

The fact Sims did this against Joakim Noah is impressive and he's now averaging 17.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks over his last two games. He had just four points and five rebounds on Wednesday, but has been a beast ever since. Maybe he can keep it going the rest of the way for the hapless Sixers, who lost their 24th straight game tonight.
Mar 22 - 11:09 PM

Henry Sims scored 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting (4-of-4 FTs) with 13 rebounds, two assists and no steals or blocks in Friday's loss to the Knicks.

Sims can no longer be ignored in fantasy leagues after posting late-round value over the last eight games, averaging 9.3 points with 7.0 boards, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks while hitting just 38.5 percent of his shots from the field. On the other hand his 80 percent foul shooting on 3.8 attempts per game over that span is nice for a big man. It all adds up to late-round value and this week hasn't been as good as the last, but he's worth an add if you need a big in 12-team leagues.
Mar 22 - 12:48 AM

Henry Sims is making a good case for the Sixers to keep him around after this season.

After being acquired in a trade on February 20, Sims is averaging 8.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 steals in 11 games with the Sixers. "It's an opportunity," Sims said. "It's what I have been waiting for since I left school. Coach trusted me and put me in the starting lineup. It's my job to do what he asks. That's what I'm trying to do." The Sixers had a lack of frontcourt depth after trading Spencer Hawes and Sims has stepped into the role nicely. The Georgetown product has outplayed Byron Mullens and should be a valuable asset in deeper leagues as long as he is able to keep his minutes up.
Mar 20 - 10:27 AM

Henry Sims logged 28 minutes in Monday's loss to the Pacers, scoring nine points on 3-of-10 shooting with 11 rebounds, three assists and one block.

Sims has created separation between he and Byron Mullens (15 minutes, five points, one three), and if he can log close to 30 minutes per night it's possible he retains some low-end value best suited for deeper formats.
Mar 17 - 9:48 PM

Henry Sims had four points, six rebounds, two steals, zero blocks and four fouls in 23 minutes on Saturday, hitting just 1-of-4 shots.

He blew up for 20 & 10 on Tuesday, but had just six points and four boards on Friday. He'll have a few more big lines this season, but it's important to remember that he's Henry Sims before setting unrealistic expectations.
Mar 15 - 10:28 PM

Henry Sims came back to earth after a 20 and 10 game on Tuesday, scoring six points on 2-of-8 shooting with four rebounds and two steals in 21 minutes.

Sims should be watched to see if he can turn things around but anybody that added him can feel free to drop him without too much consternation.
Mar 15 - 12:47 AM

Henry Sims had a career-night with 20 points on 5-of-12 shooting (10-of-11 FTs) with 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in the Sixers' loss to the Kings on Wednesday.

Sims vaults up into a top-100 value over the last six games on the heels of the big night, with averages of 10.7 points, 5.5 boards, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.0 blocks and marks of 48.8 percent from the field and 82.8 percent from the line. The Kings' bad defense is predicated on terrible big man play across the entire roster, so there is a big-time outlier here but Sims is now worth a look if you need a big man.
