The Phoenix Suns have officially signed Henry Sims to a training camp contract.
Sims is hoping to hook on with the Suns as the team's third-string center behind Tyson Chandler and Alex Len. While he was productive in spurts with the 76ers, Sims won't have any fantasy value if he's able to hook on with the Suns. Sep 17 - 11:03 AM

Henry Sims is eager to prove his worth at the Suns' training camp, and he hopes to secure a roster spot as the team's third-string center.

"This is an opportunity for me to show what I can do for a team that can make the playoffs," Sims said. "I want to show the NBA I can do what I was doing there [in Philadelphia] on any team and do more. It gives me an extra boost of energy to be here for a potential playoff team." What Sims did in Philly was compile averages of 8.0 points and 4.9 rebounds per game on 47.4 percent shooting from the field. He'd pick up plenty of DNP-CDs as a member of the Suns, so even if he makes the team, there will be no reason to touch him on draft day in any league.
Sep 2 - 12:58 PM

The Suns have extended a training camp invite to Henry Sims.

The 76ers did not extend a qualifying offer to Sims this offseason, making him an unrestricted free agent, so now he will fight for a roster spot in Phoenix. He could help bolster the Suns' frontcourt, but with Tyson Chandler and Alex Len healthy, Sims won't have any fantasy value in Phoenix.
Aug 25 - 7:07 PM

The 76ers did not extend a qualifying offer for Henry Sims, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Sims had a $1.2 million QO but Philly didn't prioritize the 25-year-old big man with Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor and Furkan Aldemir already on the roster. Sims wasn't even a reliable fantasy contributor in an ideal situation with Philly, for whom he started 32 games last season.
Jun 30 - 9:47 PM

Henry Sims will start against the Heat on Wednesday.

It's still unclear who else will be in the starting lineup with Ish Smith (groin) questionable. Hollis Thompson and Robert Covington are also starting tonight. Sims isn't a great option tonight.
Apr 15 - 6:38 PM

Henry Sims posted 12 points, seven rebounds, one steal and three blocks in a losing effort off the 76ers' bench on Sunday.

He logged only 16 minutes in an abnormally productive line vs. a weak opponent, so it shouldn't sway fantasy owners. The last time Sims scored double-digit points was on Mar. 2.
Apr 5 - 10:14 PM

Henry Sims is doing his best to stay focused while playing a lesser role.

"I've been in this league, and for the short amount of time I've been in it, I've been through it all - trades, bench, starting, sitting in a suit - I just look at it as another thing that I've just got to be a pro about," Sims said. "I'm just trying to sharpen my fundamentals so when my name's called, I'm going to be ready." Sims actually played 12.5 minutes on Sunday, but he's had a nonexistent role since the Sixers have turned to their other frontcourt options. He's not on the fantasy radar.
Mar 30 - 1:47 PM

Henry Sims has been a DNP-CD for the 76ers past three games.

"I would suspect that he wouldn't be [OK with becoming a bystander]," Brown said. "I wouldn't blame or begrudge him at all. He's a competitor. That's just where we are at." Sims doesn't offer that much upside to begin with, and with him currently behind Furkan Aldemir in the rotation, he belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Mar 13 - 9:06 AM

Contrary to a previous report, Henry Sims is not starting vs. the Hawks on Saturday.

He picked up a DNP-CD vs. the Jazz on Friday, so Sims likely won't see a lot of minutes vs. the Hawks tonight. Leave Sims on the wire.
Mar 7 - 7:43 PM

Henry Sims played nine minutes on Wednesday with two points, four rebounds and three steals against the Bucks.

The 76ers added Thomas Robinson and most of T-Rob's minutes came from Henry Sims. This will likely continue, so Sims is not going to be worth owning in even 20-team leagues.
Feb 25 - 10:57 PM

Henry Sims will start against the Heat on Monday.

He'll start next to Nerlens Noel in the frontcourt and he should see more playing time with the Sixers using their forwards more where they should be and not at center. Still, Sims is not a fantasy option. The other starters are Isaiah Canaan, Robert Covington, Luc Mbah a Moute and Noel.
Feb 23 - 6:28 PM

Henry Sims moved into Philly's starting lineup vs. the Magic, finishing a road loss with eight points on 3-of-8 shooting, eight rebounds, one assist and four turnovers.

He played 19 minutes and started because Luc Mbah a Moute wasn't with the team, so he may return to the bench on Monday. Tonight's line, combined with Sims' perpetual lack of defensive stats, should be enough to scare away fantasy owners.
Feb 22 - 9:13 PM

Henry Sims will replace Luc Mbah a Moute in the starting lineup for Sunday's game vs. the Magic.

The 76ers will need all the size they can muster against Nikola Vucevic and the Magic, so this is likely a matchup driven move. Sims' game doesn't translate to fantasy very well, and with season averages of just 8.8 points and 5.3 boards in 20.3 minutes per game, he's only worth a look in deeper leagues.
Feb 22 - 5:34 PM

Henry Sims will start on Monday night against the Pelicans.

Sims is starting instead of K.J. McDaniels because New Orleans has a big frontline. When starting at center this season, Sims is averaging 10.3 points and 5.8 rebounds on 48.1 percent shooting.
Jan 26 - 12:31 PM

Henry SIms (ankle) will play against the Raptors on Friday.

He had a double-double on Wednesday, but that was due to the 76ers missing Nerlens Noel and Luc Mbah a Moute -- both are back tonight. Sims is only a low-upside play in very deep leagues.
