Quincy Acy is starting next to Jose Calderon, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony and Samuel Dalembert on Saturday.
This lineup was the favorite to be the opening night lineup, but coach Derek Fisher changed his mind and also Calderon went down. Acy is not an option in almost any fantasy league. Nov 22 - 5:56 PM

Player News

Quincy Acy has been dealing with a sprained right wrist, and recently had cortisone shot to help relieve the pain.

Acy has been dealing with this injury since preseason, and it's been giving him trouble with catching passes. He committed three turnovers during Wednesday's game vs. the Timberwolves, all on fumbled passes, but also added nine points and eight rebounds. Acy has bounced in and out of the starting lineup with the Knicks, and is currently averaging 5.0 points and 5.9 rebounds on the year. In other words, he's not worth owning in standard leagues.
Nov 21 - 9:41 AM

Quincy Acy played 32 minutes against the Wolves on Wednesday with nine points, eight boards and three turnovers.

Garbage time was a factor here and Acy wouldn't usually get this much playing time even in a start. In his previous four starts, Acy only averaged 5.0 points, 6.3 boards and 0.3 blocks. He's only worth owning in deep leagues.
Nov 20 - 1:43 AM

Quincy Acy will start next to Shane Larkin, Iman Shumpert, Carmelo Anthony and Samuel Dalembert against the Wolves.

The Knicks are going with the big lineup tonight, but Acy is still not a fantasy option. He's only averaged 5.0 points, 6.3 boards and 0.3 blocks in his four previous starts.
Nov 19 - 6:43 PM

Quincy Acy will draw the start against Denver on Sunday, while Amare Stoudemire is expected to come off of the bench.

Acy isn't consistent enough to be considered in standard leagues, but he can provide enough points and rebounds to be relevant for owners in deeper leagues. However, as long as Stoudemire is active, he will likely get the bulk of the minutes at PF and is the obvious choice here.
Nov 16 - 11:43 AM

Quincy Acy will return to the Knicks' starting lineup on Wednesday, playing PF with Carmelo Anthony shifting to SF.

Tim Hardaway Jr. goes back to the bench as a consequence, where he'll battle J.R. Smith for reserve playing time behind Iman Shumpert and Melo. Acy is averaging just 5.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 21.5 minutes as a starter this season, ruling him out as a standard-league option.
Nov 12 - 5:53 PM

Quincy Acy returned from a wrist injury on Wednesday but played just 14 minutes and failed to score.

Jason Smith started over him and the move could be permanent. Put Smith on your radar, and forget about Acy for now.
Nov 5 - 11:59 PM

Quincy Acy (wrist) is available to play vs. the Pistons on Wednesday.

He was available on Tuesday but never left the bench, though coach Derek Fisher plans to deploy him against Detroit's big front line tonight. Acy will snag some rebounds and score a few garbage buckets around the rim, but even as a starter he's a marginal fantasy option.
Nov 5 - 6:42 PM

Quincy Acy (wrist) was reportedly available to play on Tuesday, but he never left the Knicks' bench.

Acy has been starting at PF for the Knicks and the team was likely just playing it safe tonight. Owners relying on his blue-collar production should double-check his status prior to Wednesday's road game in Detroit. If he can't suit up, Amare Stoudemire should earn another start at PF.
Nov 4 - 10:40 PM

Quincy Acy (wrist) is available to play on Tuesday, but he'll come off the bench behind Amare Stoudemire.

Stoudemire started one game to begin the season before shifting to a reserve role, so this may well be a temporary decision by coach Derek Fisher. Check back after the game to see how Acy fares with his sore wrist.
Nov 4 - 7:13 PM

Quincy Acy (wrist) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Wizards.

Acy has taken over as the team's starting power forward, and the wrist issue is not cause for concern. Barring anything unexpected, Acy will be out there once again against Washington. Jose Calderon (calf) and Andrea Bargnani (hamstring) remain sidelined.
Nov 3 - 1:15 PM

Quincy Acy started at power forward on Thursday against the Cavs and had six offensive rebounds during a win, adding eight points, four defensive rebounds, two assists, one block and two turnovers.

He's always been a guy with a high motor and no other stat tells that story like an offensive rebound. Acy made most of the starts at power forward in the preseason and he might stick in that role. However, he's really only an option in deeper leagues since he won't be receiving minutes higher than the mid-20s.
Oct 31 - 12:49 AM

Quincy Acy, and not Amare Stoudemire, will start at power forward for the Knicks on Thursday.

It took exactly one game for Derek Fisher to change the Knicks starting lineup. Amare will serve as the backup center against the Cavs, while Acy is inserted into the starting lineup for his defense. Acy is one of those players who has more real-life value than actual fantasy value.
Oct 30 - 6:40 PM

Quincy Acy (sore wrist) returned to action on Friday with eight points and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes off the Knicks' bench.

New York was playing without Andrea Bargnani (hamstring) and Travis Outlaw (Achilles), which opened up a few more minutes for Acy in the frontcourt. Knicks president Phil Jackson recently praised Acy as a "terrific rebounder," and said the team relies on him to be "tough, quick-footed and energetic on defense at both the [SF and PF] positions." Unfortunately, his real-world value won't amount to a hill of beans in fantasy leagues.
Oct 24 - 10:23 PM

Quincy Acy did not play on Wednesday due to a sore right wrist.

He started the previous four games and coach Derek Fisher said before the game he wasn't starting because he wanted to experiment with Jason Smith. Acy is the favorite to start, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll be posting value worth using in 14-team leagues.
