Former NBA guard Tyshawn Taylor was arrested on Aug. 6 for using a counterfeit money order to obtain $1,000 from a grocery store.
Taylor has since been released after his bail was posted, but it's a sad turn of events for the former Brooklyn Net. Taylor was recently cut from Dynamo Moscow in Russia, so if that's any indication on where his career is headed then it is safe to say that he may not play in the NBA again. Aug 14 - 11:27 AM

Dynamo Moscow of The Super-League has cut Tyshawn Taylor.

While he's still just 24 years old, it's not a good sign for Taylor's NBA prospects that he couldn't stick with Dynamo Moscow. He shouldn't have been on fantasy radars anyway, but he can safely be forgotten after this news.

Tyshawn Taylor is finalizing a deal with Dynamo Moscow of The Super-League.

Taylor had a turbulent 2013-14 season during which he was a member of the Brooklyn Nets, the New Orleans Pelicans, the Maine Red Claw of the D-League, and even Atléticos de San Germán in Puerto Rico. The 24-year-old could make his way back to the NBA if he has a successful stint in Russia, but he shouldn't be on any fantasy radars for now.

Maine Red Claws sign G Tyshawn Taylor.

Completing a whirlwind month in which he's been a member of the Brooklyn Nets and New Orleans Pelicans, Taylor will now join the Maine Red Claws of the D-League. The Red Claws are an affiliate of the injury-ravaged Boston Celtics so we could see Taylor get some run in the Gah-den, but his 3.9 points and 1.6 assists per game this season shouldn't have fantasy owners holding their breath.

Pelicans waive G Tyshawn Taylor.

He was acquired just this week and the Pelicans just don't have room for him even with Jrue Holiday out with a leg injury. Taylor might catch on somewhere else, but has no fantasy value right now.

The New Orleans Pelicans have acquired Tyshawn Taylor.

The worst-kept secret in the NBA became official on Tuesday as the Nets agreed to trade Taylor for cash and the draft rights to Edin Bavcic. This move was mostly a cost-cutting measure for the Nets as Bavcic will likely never play in the NBA, and fantasy owners need not worry about the transaction as Taylor has limited fantasy value in a reserve role for New Orleans.

The Nets have reportedly agreed to trade Tyshawn Taylor and cash to the Pelicans in exchange for a protected second-round pick.

The move saves Brooklyn some money in luxury taxes and gives New Orleans some emergency depth at PG while Jrue Holiday recovers from a stress injury in his tibia. This won't have any fantasy implications.

Tyshawn Taylor will be recalled for Monday's game against the Hawks.

The Nets are likely planning for Deron Williams to not play tonight with the activation of Taylor. He's shooting just 34.5 percent from the field this season and is unlikely to see enough minutes to matter in most fantasy leagues.

Tyshawn Taylor (ankle) returned on Saturday and registered no stats in 13 seconds of action.

He was a game-time decision back on Jan. 2, but did not play. Taylor is out of the rotation and has no fantasy value.

Tyshawn Taylor (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Thunder.

Taylor has missed two games with his ankle injury, but he wasn't seeing many minutes when healthy as he's largely fallen out of the Nets' rotation. Deron Williams is dealing with an undisclosed injury so Taylor may see some action if Williams is forced to miss any time, but he's not worth owning in any fantasy leagues at the moment.

Tyshawn Taylor (ankle) will miss Tuesday's game against San Antonio.

Taylor has fallen out of the Nets' rotation with the return of Deron Williams as the second-year guard has averaged only 3.0 minutes per game in the last five games that he's seen the court. While the former Kansas Jayhawk could be a promising fantasy asset if he gets consistent playing time, that isn't going to happen unless Williams gets injured again so fantasy owners can feel free to cut him free if they haven't already.

The Nets have assigned backup PG Tyshawn Taylor to the D-League.

This could be an indication that Jason Terry (knee) is ready to return for Brooklyn, or simply a result of Taylor falling out of the rotation as the third-string backup behind Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston.

Tyshawn Taylor started at point guard again on Tuesday, but hit just 4-of-12 shots for 12 points, two assists and a steal in 34 minutes.

The minutes have been nice, but he simply hasn't responded for Jason Kidd and the struggling Nets. It will be interesting to see if he continues to start over Shaun Livingston as long as Deron Williams is out, but the truth of the matter is that it probably doesn't matter.

Tyshawn Taylor was terrible in his first start of his career, failing to hand out an assist with six points, one steal and three turnovers in 21 minutes.

Coach Jason Kidd went with Taylor after Shawn Livingston and the starters were destroyed on Friday night at Houston. Taylor and Livingston are likely going to share the minutes, so neither player is worth owning in standard leagues. Livingston had four points, one board and four assists in 29 minutes.

Tyshawn Taylor will make his first career NBA start on Saturday, replacing Shaun Livingston in the Nets' lineup.

Taylor had 16 points and 12 assists on Friday, as Jason Kidd benched four of his starters to begin the second half, and he's an intriguing pickup with Deron Williams (ankle) still on the shelf. Bear in mind that Taylor is shooting 37.0 percent from the field, he has limited 3-point range, and he faces a brutal matchup with Mike Conley and the Grizzlies tonight.
