With Paul Pierce in Washington and Kevin Garnett entering his 20th season (and averaging just six points per game last season), it would appear that Mirza Teletovic is primed for a breakout season.
He came on over his final eight games of the season last year, averaging 11.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.8 3-pointers, and he could offer more of the same as a starter this year. The Nets could still make an acquisition or two that would hurt Teletovic, but as of now, he looks like a good bet to be a very nice fantasy sleeper. But a starting lineup of Deron Williams, Jarrett Jack, Joe Johnson, Teletovic and Brook Lopez would likely be a defensive sieve for the opposition. Jul 17 - 2:20 AM

Mirza Teletovic hit 4-of-7 shots, all 3-pointers, for 12 points and six rebounds in 19 minutes in Saturday's Game 3 win.

Teletovic had 20 points and six treys on Thursday, and he's now hit 13 3-pointers in three playoff games against the Heat.
May 10 - 10:58 PM

Mirza Teletovic scored a team-high 20 points vs. the Heat on Thursday with two boards, two turnovers and six 3-pointers.

His six triples set a franchise record in a playoff game and he was the only real highlight for the Nets tonight. Teletovic has been hot here and there and he's mostly done his damage in the fourth quarter, but they were an absolute joke down the stretch with just 15 points in that frame. Mirza will likely cool off on Saturday in Game 3.
May 8 - 10:25 PM

Mirza Teletovic has missed a couple games after his wife gave birth to twins, but we're guessing he's ready to go for the playoffs.

He might have missed at least one of those games in order to rest, but his family should be situated by the time they face the Raptors in Round 1.
Apr 17 - 12:18 AM

Mirza Teletovic will not play on Wednesday to be with his wife and newborn twins.

While Teletovic and his wife celebrate, the Nets gear up for a game vs. the Cavaliers that could decide their playoff seeding. If the Nets lose and the Wizards win on Wednesday, Washington will take over the No. 5 seed by virtue of a tie-breaker.

Mirza Teletovic will miss Tuesday's game against the Knicks for personal reasons.

Alan Anderson and Shaun Livingston are also out, while Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson and Deron Williams are all listed as game-time decisions. Carmelo Anthony is not expected to play for the Knicks, and this game is setting up to be a bit of a no-name circus. Marcus Thornton, Marquis Teague and Mason Plumlee could all have big games tonight.
Apr 15 - 10:48 AM

Nets PF Mirza Teletovic made 7-of-12 field goals with four 3-pointers on Sunday, while grabbing six rebounds and blocking one shot in 29 minutes off the bench.

Teletovic is shooting nearly 39 percent from downtown on the season and he's picked up the pace in April (42.9 percent), which gives Brooklyn some much-welcomed firepower off the bench. His perimeter shooting makes him an intriguing fantasy player, and we'll keep an eye on him this summer with the Nets' roster likely to see plenty of changes.
Apr 13 - 8:33 PM

Mirza Teletovic started for Paul Pierce (hip) and hit 5-of-17 shots (all 3-pointers) for 17 points and nine rebounds in Wednesday's loss to the Magic.

Teletovic didn't shoot it particularly well but if you saw our blurb announcing him as a starter and put him in your lineup, he gave you exactly what you were probably looking for - points, threes and boards. If he continues to start he's probably worth having in your lineup.
Apr 9 - 10:17 PM

Mirza Teletovic will start vs. the Magic on Wednesday.

He's been all over the place as a bench guy, but has solid averages in his three previous starts of 13.8 points, 3.2 boards, 0.5 blocks, 0.3 steals and 2.7 triples. Plus, Teletovic did hit six triples in a game last week off the bench. He's not exactly a household name, but he could be a sneaky play for owners seeking help in points and treys.
Apr 9 - 5:39 PM

Mirza Teletovic hit 4-of-8 shots and two 3-pointers for 11 points and two rebounds in Tuesday's tough win over the Heat.

He's been very up and down over his last five games, but on nights when Andray Blatche and/or Kevin Garnett are sitting (like tonight), he's a decent bet for some production.
Apr 8 - 11:16 PM

Mirza Teletovic cooled off on Saturday vs. the Sixers with three points, three boards, one block and one 3-pointer in nine minutes.

With the Nets possibly benching guys, Teletovic doesn’t seem like a guy who will be one of them. He’s more or less a catch-and-shoot guy and hasn’t been hurt all year. The Nets have a nice schedule the rest of the way, so it wouldn’t be a complete shock to see Mirza in the top 20 for 3-pointers the rest of the way. To be clear, there's really no reason to make a proactive add here and this is just food for thought.
Apr 5 - 10:46 PM

Mirza Teletovic caught fire against the Pistons on Friday during a 116-104 win, making six 3-pointers on his way to 20 points with one board and one steal in 23 minutes.

He's one of the better fourth-quarter shooters from deep, but actually didn't hit any of those six treys in the fourth tonight. Teletovic has been a pleasant surprise for the Nets, but he can be ignored in fantasy leagues unless it's a desperate attempt for some 3-pointers.
Apr 5 - 12:31 AM

Mirza Teletovic played 25 minutes off the bench on Tuesday, scoring 10 points with two 3-pointers, seven rebounds and one steal.

Rebounding has been a weak spot for the Nets over the past five games, as their 39.5 boards per game ranks 27th in the NBA ahead of only the Heat, Jazz and Lakers. Kevin Garnett's potential return from back spasms later this week should help the Nets, but in the meantime they'll take whatever guys like Teletovic, Mason Plumlee and Andray Blatche can give them.
Apr 1 - 11:01 PM

The Nets beat the Cavs on Friday for their 12th consecutive home victory, aided by Mirza Teletovic's nine points, three 3-pointers, 10 rebounds and one steal in 28 bench minutes.

Teletovic shot just 3-of-11 from the field, but the threat of his perimeter game helped to open the court for Alan Anderson (13 points), Andray Blatche (10 points) and Marcus Thornton (10 points). Even with four games on the schedule next week it's inadvisable to own Teletovic outside of deep leagues.
Mar 28 - 10:24 PM

Mirza Teletovic hit 6-of-12 shots, and all 12 attempts were from downtown, as he finished with 22 points and three rebounds in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Bobcats.

He played 28 minutes, his most since Feb. 9, and this was his first game in double digits March 12. In other words, we'd like to see him do something in the next couple games before getting too excited about tonight's 3-point explosion.
