Bernard James will sign with the Shanghai Sharks.

Sarge was with the Mavericks last year and had hoped to return next year. James is probably not going to be back in the NBA in the near future.

Bernard James said that he hopes he can return to the Mavericks next season despite interest from other teams.

"You know, I’ve been talking to my agent a lot, and there’s a few teams interested," James said. "But, hopefully, I’d like to be back here with the Mavericks. We’ll see what happens in the draft, what’s their needs and whoever [Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and coach Rick Carlisle] find for next year. Whatever players they sign, hopefully there’s a spot for me and there’s a niche I can carve out." James averaged 2.8 points, 2.4 boards and 0.9 blocks in 16 appearances for the Mavs, so he won't be a fantasy option regardless of where he lands.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed Bernard James for the rest of the 2014-15 season.

James was at the tail end of his second 10-day contract and has obviously impressed the Mavericks enough to stick around for the rest of the season. While James helps solidify a depleted Mavericks' frontcourt, he hasn't shown enough to warrant a spot on any fantasy rosters.

Benard James will start against the Pelicans on Monday.

The Mavs are going big against the Pelicans, which makes sense. James is still not a fantasy option in almost any league Rajon Rondo, Monta Ellis, Richard Jefferson and Dirk Nowitzki are the other starters.

Bernard James started at center and had seven points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in Wednesday's loss to the Hawks.

With Tyson Chandler (hip) and Amare Stoudemire (rest) both out, the Mavs were forced to go with James tonight. He wasn't great, but the boards and blocks were enough to help if you rolled the dice in a DFS league. Chandler and Amare shouldn't be out for too long, so the clock is ticking on BJ's shelf life.

Bernard James will start against the Hawks on Wednesday.

He'll join J.J. Barea, Monta Ellis, Richard Jefferson and Dirk Nowitzki. James probably won't log big minutes tonight with Dirk likely moving over to center. Fantasy owners can look to Al-Farouq Aminu tonight.

After Bernard James' second 10-day contract expires, Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban said that he will be signed for the remainder of the season.

James isn't going to be a big part of the rotation unless Tyson Chandler goes down with another injury, so he can be left on the wire in almost all leagues.

The Mavericks have reportedly signed Bernard James to a second 10-day contract.

James has played one game for the Mavs so far, and put up nine points, three rebounds, and three blocks over 22 minutes of action. However, that game came with Tyson Chandler on the sidelines, and it's unlikely he'll see his minutes in the 20s with Chandler expected to return to the lineup on Thursday. Leave him on the wire.

The Dallas Mavericks signed center Bernard James to a 10-day contract on Wednesday.

Tyson Chandler just went down with an ankle injury and will miss Wednesday's game against the Jazz, so the move makes a lot of sense for Dallas. James could have short-term value in deeper leagues if Chandler misses any time after the All-Star break, but owners in most leagues can use a wait-and-see approach for now.

The Dallas Mavericks are close to signing Bernard James to a 10-day contract, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

The Mavs waived James in October, but will now bring him back to provide some much-needed frontcourt depth with Tyson Chandler (ankle) dinged up. James had been playing in China so he should be in game-shape for Wednesday's game against the Jazz, but he can be safely left on the wire.

Bernard James is set to sign a contract in China after he was waived by the Mavericks in October.

He wasn't expected to make the team and he will likely spend the rest of the season in China. He can be cut in all leagues and we will let you know if he ever pops up on the fantasy radar again, but we doubt it.

The Dallas Mavericks waived Bernard James, Ivan Johnson, and Doron Lamb on Saturday.

They were not expected to make the team and Charlie Villanueva is breathing easy now. None of these players are on the fantasy radar.

The Mavericks have been shopping Bernard James in a trade.

The Sarge is a fan favorite, but he hasn't been able to get many minutes in Dallas. James won't have fantasy value unless he goes to a team bitten badly by the injury bug.

Mavs sign C Bernard James.

Sarge has looked great in summer league and he's a fan favorite, but he's still not likely to be much of a factor while the Mavs are healthy. James isn't worth drafting in any format.
