Justin Hamilton scored 11 points with six rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes on Thursday.
He fired away on the outside with seven shots from deep. Coach Kenny Atkinson is playing him at both center and power forward spots in the second unit. The Nets offense is going to be built on spacing, so Hamilton's ability to hit treys and defend bigger centers figures to get him minutes. He's already in the mix on 16-team leagues. Justin Hamilton started at center on Tuesday vs. the Heat and scored 12 points with three rebounds, one assist and two treys in 21 minutes.

He started tonight because Brook Lopez was getting the night off to rest. Hamilton was exposed on the defensive end, but he's got some upside with his 3-point range -- he's a career 32.5 percent shooter from deep. If Lopez has to miss time this season, Hamilton would be a hot pickup. For now, he's the favorite to win the backup job and is currently looking at minutes in the teens.

Nets coach Kenny Atkinson spoke highly of Justin Hamilton and said he views him as a stretch five.

"We thought Justin had a fantastic season over in Valencia," Atkinson said. "He's a stretch five, he can extend the floor from 3-point range. But he's more than a stretch five, because he's a tough guy. He knows how to play inside and he knows how to finish around the basket." They agreed to a deal on July 1, so clearly the Nets are high on him. If the Nets end up trading Brook Lopez, Hamilton could be a factor in fantasy leagues.

Nets sign F/C Justin Hamilton.

Hamilton's multi-year deal will bring him back to the NBA after a successful sting with Valencia in Liga ACB last season. "Justin is an energetic big with the ability to stretch the floor," said Nets general manager Sean Marks. "He is coming off a successful season in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues and will add depth to our frontcourt rotation." While Hamilton could get some run if the Nets trade Brook Lopez, he doesn't have much fantasy value at this point in time.
Jul 12 - 10:31 AM

Free agent center Justin Hamilton has agreed to a two-year, $6 million deal with the Nets.

He's been overseas after getting some run with the Wolves back in the 2014-15. His fantasy owners in very deep leagues right remember him turning in April averages of 8.0 points, 5.3 boards, 2.0 blocks and 1.4 steals on 50.0 percent from the field. If the Nets trade Brook Lopez, he might get run.
Jul 1 - 8:30 PM

Justin Hamilton has signed a one-year deal with Valencia Basket.

Hamilton was reported to be drawing interest from a handful of teams, but nothing was ever close and it was clear his agent was leaking bad information. Hamilton could draw another look stateside if he explodes overseas, but we're a long way from that happening.

The Suns are reportedly close to extending a partially guaranteed contract to Justin Hamilton.

Hamilton has also received interest from Valencia of Spain, so it'll be interesting to see if he's willing to fight for a roster spot in Phoenix rather than taking his talents overseas. Hamilton would rarely leave the bench with the Suns as long as Alex Len and Tyson Chandler were healthy, so he can be ignored in most fantasy leagues.

Justin Hamilton is closing in on a deal to sign with Valencia in Spain.

Hamilton was rumored to have drawn interest from the Pelicans, Suns, Knicks, Heat and the Lakers, but he would likely be able to command a larger salary overseas. He played some big minutes with the Wolves down the stretch last season due to some injuries, but he also struggled to stay on the floor as well. We will let you know if an agreement is reached.

Justin Hamilton is reportedly drawing interest from the Pelicans, Suns, Knicks, Heat and Lakers.

Hamilton is an unrestricted free agent after the Wolves opted against giving the big man a qualifying offer, but Hamilton will probably have to settle for a non-guaranteed deal if he wants a real shot of making a final roster.

The Wolves did not tender a qualifying offer for Justin Hamilton.

He'll be an unrestricted free agent. Hamilton picked up some big minutes in April, averaging 8.0 points, 5.3 boards, 1.4 assists and 2.0 blocks in his last eight games of the season. He'll likely just get a minimum deal.

Justin Hamilton (hamstring) is not in the Timberwolves' starting lineup on Wednesday and his status is unclear.

Arinze Onuaku is starting at center and the fact that Hamilton isn't starting suggests he won't play. Minnesota may be leery of aggravating his injury in a meaningless game, and the availability of Anthony Bennett gives them at least a shred of frontcourt depth. Hamilton was listed as probable for this game, so unfortunately the Wolves may burn fantasy owners one last time.

Justin Hamilton (hamstring) is probable for Wednesday's game vs. the Thunder.

The Wolves desperately need him to play tonight, so his owners can breathe a little easier now. Check back before tip-off just to be safe, but go ahead and get him active in your lineups.

Justin Hamilton hurt his hamstring on Monday night against the Pelicans.

The Wolves were down to just six healthy bodies tonight. Hamilton is probably not going to be able to play, which means the Wolves will be down to their fourth-string center, Arinze Onuaku. He's obviously only worth a look in deep leagues. Hamilton finished with seven points, two boards, one assist, one steal and five blocks on Monday.

Justin Hamilton got it going against the Warriors on Saturday with 12 points, 10 boards, three assists, one steal, three blocks and one 3-pointer.

That's more like it. Hamilton should have more lines like this one going forward because he's the only healthy big man on the team. He's worth owning in all leagues.
Sun, Apr 12, 2015 01:38:00 AM

Justin Hamilton started at center and scored six points on 2-of-4 shooting with four rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 24 minutes on Friday against the Lakers.

This isn't a bad line with the blocks but he just hasn't been able to put up some of the more impressive lines he had before his concussion. He has still been a top 60-90 value over the past week on a per-game basis, so it's not time to drop him in most circumstances.
