Justin Hamilton has signed a one-year deal with Valencia Basket.
Hamilton was reported to be drawing interest from a handful of teams, but nothing was ever close and it was clear his agent was leaking bad information. Hamilton could draw another look stateside if he explodes overseas, but we're a long way from that happening. Jul 27 - 9:01 AM

The Suns are reportedly close to extending a partially guaranteed contract to Justin Hamilton.

Hamilton has also received interest from Valencia of Spain, so it'll be interesting to see if he's willing to fight for a roster spot in Phoenix rather than taking his talents overseas. Hamilton would rarely leave the bench with the Suns as long as Alex Len and Tyson Chandler were healthy, so he can be ignored in most fantasy leagues.
Jul 23 - 4:27 PM

Justin Hamilton is closing in on a deal to sign with Valencia in Spain.

Hamilton was rumored to have drawn interest from the Pelicans, Suns, Knicks, Heat and the Lakers, but he would likely be able to command a larger salary overseas. He played some big minutes with the Wolves down the stretch last season due to some injuries, but he also struggled to stay on the floor as well. We will let you know if an agreement is reached.

Justin Hamilton is reportedly drawing interest from the Pelicans, Suns, Knicks, Heat and Lakers.

Hamilton is an unrestricted free agent after the Wolves opted against giving the big man a qualifying offer, but Hamilton will probably have to settle for a non-guaranteed deal if he wants a real shot of making a final roster.
Jul 6 - 12:38 PM

The Wolves did not tender a qualifying offer for Justin Hamilton.

He'll be an unrestricted free agent. Hamilton picked up some big minutes in April, averaging 8.0 points, 5.3 boards, 1.4 assists and 2.0 blocks in his last eight games of the season. He'll likely just get a minimum deal.
Jun 29 - 5:52 PM

Justin Hamilton (hamstring) is not in the Timberwolves' starting lineup on Wednesday and his status is unclear.

Arinze Onuaku is starting at center and the fact that Hamilton isn't starting suggests he won't play. Minnesota may be leery of aggravating his injury in a meaningless game, and the availability of Anthony Bennett gives them at least a shred of frontcourt depth. Hamilton was listed as probable for this game, so unfortunately the Wolves may burn fantasy owners one last time.
Apr 15 - 8:13 PM

Justin Hamilton (hamstring) is probable for Wednesday's game vs. the Thunder.

The Wolves desperately need him to play tonight, so his owners can breathe a little easier now. Check back before tip-off just to be safe, but go ahead and get him active in your lineups.
Apr 15 - 10:47 AM

Justin Hamilton hurt his hamstring on Monday night against the Pelicans.

The Wolves were down to just six healthy bodies tonight. Hamilton is probably not going to be able to play, which means the Wolves will be down to their fourth-string center, Arinze Onuaku. He's obviously only worth a look in deep leagues. Hamilton finished with seven points, two boards, one assist, one steal and five blocks on Monday.
Apr 13 - 11:11 PM

Justin Hamilton got it going against the Warriors on Saturday with 12 points, 10 boards, three assists, one steal, three blocks and one 3-pointer.

That's more like it. Hamilton should have more lines like this one going forward because he's the only healthy big man on the team. He's worth owning in all leagues.
Apr 12 - 1:38 AM

Justin Hamilton started at center and scored six points on 2-of-4 shooting with four rebounds, one steal and three blocks in 24 minutes on Friday against the Lakers.

This isn't a bad line with the blocks but he just hasn't been able to put up some of the more impressive lines he had before his concussion. He has still been a top 60-90 value over the past week on a per-game basis, so it's not time to drop him in most circumstances.
Apr 11 - 4:10 AM

Justin Hamilton started again and had six points, nine rebounds, a steal and zero blocks in 27 minutes on Wednesday.

He's going to start at center the rest of the way and the potential is there for him to breakout. It's yet to happen since he returned from migraines, but he is averaging 9.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks over his last five games.
Apr 9 - 12:58 AM

Wolves C Justin Hamilton scored only four points on Tuesday, but he pitched in elsewhere with four rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.

Hamilton also committed just one turnover in 25 minutes of action. The Wolves are without Gorgui Dieng, Kevin Garnett, Nikola Pekovic and Anthony Bennett, thrusting big minutes into Hamilton's lap, and he's a solid fantasy option in leagues with 10 or more teams.
Apr 8 - 12:31 AM

Justin Hamilton played 38 minutes against the Magic on Friday with 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

It was a huge line and the most minutes he's ever played in a game. Gorgui Dieng (concussion) was questionable tonight and didn't play, but he is not expected to be back before Gary Neal (ankle). That means we may get at least one game of Hamilton logging big minutes. As much as we'd love to say pick him up, the Wolves don't play again until Tuesday. That means Gorgui might be back. If you don't have a matchup acquisition limit, Hamilton should be added everywhere.
Apr 4 - 1:38 AM

Justin Hamilton started at center for the Wolves on Wednesday, played 31 minutes, and hit 6-of-8 shots, but his stat line didn't match up to the hype, as he finished with just 13 points, two rebounds, two steals and a block.

It wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't a very good one, either. With Nikola Pekovic done for the season and Gorgui Dieng out with a concussion, Hamilton is going to see a big opportunity here. Look for his numbers to go up from here on out, as long as Dieng is in street clothes.
Apr 2 - 12:56 AM

Justin Hamilton started for Gorgui Dieng (concussion) scored 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting (5-of-5 FTs) with four rebounds, one assist and one block over 25 minutes in the Wolves' 104-84 loss to the Jazz on Monday.

Hamilton continues to ramp his minutes back up after suffering a concussion and it's a shame because he was showing real mid-round upside at the time he got hurt. Dieng's absence helps him out a bit, but there should be more than enough room for him to produce regardless of Dieng's status.
