Justin Hamilton started vs. the Rockets on Wednesday, posting a career-high three blocks with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting, three boards and two assists in just 18 minutes.
Brook Lopez was resting tonight and this highlights Hamilton's potential role should the Nets trade Lopez this season, even though his minutes were depressed due to the Rockets' small-ball attack, as well as the lopsided score. The Nets would likely get back draft picks and/or prospects if they dealt Lopez, rather than current rotation players, which might leave Hamilton as the default starting center. That's purely speculative at the moment, but he's worth keeping in the back of your mind -- just don't expect copious swats, as tonight's fluky total all came in the first quarter. Jan 15 - 9:23 PM

Justin Hamilton will move into the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockets, with Brook Lopez (rest) unavailable.

Hamilton has been hit-or-miss in his three starts this season, owning averages of just 5.7 points, 4.0 boards, 1.0 steal, 1.0 block and 1.0 triple on 31.6 percent shooting over 23.3 minutes per game, so he's not much more than a punt play in daily leagues. Head coach Kenny Atkinson also said that Luis Scola and Quincy Acy will get some minutes with Lopez out, but neither of those guys can be considered viable targets in most settings.

Justin Hamilton revealed that he "couldn’t see anything" a couple weeks ago because he got the wrong prescription for his contacts.

"I just started noticing when I was getting the migraines and we were trying to figure out what was going on. We figured out it was my vision,’’ Hamilton said. "We were trying to get the right prescription. Right after the [Dec. 23] Cleveland game. Christmas Eve I got finally the right prescription for both eyes." That explains his recent improvement as Hamilton has scored 16 points in two out of his last three games. He's trending up and does have nice upside, but he's not worth owning in standard leagues just yet.
Jan 9 - 11:24 AM

Justin Hamilton scored 16 points with eight rebounds, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers in 22 minutes against the Pacers on Thursday.

He was hot from deep and made multiple treys for the first time in a game since Nov. 20. There could a dip in minutes for Brook Lopez on Friday, so maybe Hamilton gets another chance for minutes in the low 20s. He's still not worth owning right now.
Jan 5 - 9:50 PM

Justin Hamilton started alongside Brook Lopez on Friday but he played only 19 minutes, scoring eight points on 3-of-8 shooting with six boards and one block.

Trevor Booker was resting tonight, hence the unorthodox frontcourt for the Nets. They trailed by 14 points after one quarter and Hamilton was benched to begin the third quarter, so it's safe to say we won't see much of this going forward. Hamilton is waiver-wire fodder unless Lopez gets injured or traded.

Justin Hamilton will start for Trevor Booker (rest) against the Cavs on Friday.

It's a hit to the revenge narrative with Anthony Bennett coming off the bench against the team that drafted him No. 1. Hamilton has been out of the rotation at times, but coach Kenny Atkinson will give him an extended look. If you were going to roll with Bennett in DFS, you may want to reconsider. Hamilton is also a risky play in his third start of the season.

Justin Hamilton, who had pretty much fallen out of the Nets' rotation, played 23 minutes and had five points, 11 rebounds and a block in Tuesday's blowout loss to the Raptors.

Brook Lopez was resting, the score was out of hand and it was a perfect storm to get Hamilton back in the mix. Just keep an eye on him in case he continues to get run once Bro-Lo is back.

Justin Hamilton is inactive for Friday.

He had one of the hottest starts of the season for bench players, but he's really fallen off. The Nets are getting a look at Anthony Bennett for now, so Hamilton has lost a ton of value. Hamilton may have value at some point, but obviously doesn't have much now.

Justin Hamilton (migraine) was probable for Wednesday's game but he never left the Nets' bench.

We'll leave Hamilton on the injury report, under the assumption that he wasn't a DNP-CD tonight, but his status hardly matters in standard leagues. He's been a burden in fantasy leagues after a hot start, and it's a situation that's unlikely to change as long as Brook Lopez is healthy.

Justin Hamilton (migraine) is probable for Wednesday's game vs. the Lakers.

Hamilton had a few nice stretches early in the season but he's fallen off the fantasy radar in recent weeks, and his return has minimal impact in standard leagues. Luis Scola and Anthony Bennett stand to lose a few minutes once he's back in action.

Justin Hamilton (migraine) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Rockets.

This will be Hamilton's second straight game on the sidelines, and his minutes will likely continue to be divvied up between Anthony Bennett and Luis Scola. None of these guys are worth a roster spot in most leagues.

Justin Hamilton (migraine) is questionable for Monday's game vs. the Rockets.

He's in jeopardy of missing his second straight game. Hamilton has cooled off significantly since his solid start to the season, so he belongs on the wire in most leagues. Anthony Bennett and Luis Scola will pick up some extra minutes if Hamilton sits.

Justin Hamilton (migraine) is out for Saturday against the Spurs.

This comes out of nowhere, so the Nets will need to fill in for their backup center. Anthony Bennett and Luis Scola figure to pick up some of the slack. Hamilton has lost a lot of value after a hot start.

Justin Hamilton did not score against the Bucks on Saturday with three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two turnovers in 18 minutes.

Coach Kenny Atkinson wanted to keep his second unit together with Trevor Booker (illness) out and he didn't tweak Hamilton's minutes at all tonight. He was getting more run at power forward earlier in the year, but he's been more of a center these days.
Sat, Dec 3, 2016 07:40:00 PM

Justin Hamilton grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds on Sunday, adding six points, three assists and one steal without any turnovers in 24 minutes.

Hamilton came in shooting a team-high 42.6 percent from downtown but he missed both of his long-range attempts tonight. He helped the Nets stay competitive on the glass tonight, and their offense produced 105 points, but they were once again destroyed defensively -- the Kings scored 122 points on 53.5 percent shooting, including a 13-of-23 mark from downtown.
