Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) will not play on Thursday.
O'Quinn will not even be active for the game. This wasn't unexpected after the big man sprained his ankle, but X-rays taken were negative. He's still sore and won't play, so owners in daily leagues should make sure they're not using O'Quinn on Thursday. Oct 30 - 5:19 PM

Kyle O'Quinn was held out of practice on Wednesday after spraining his ankle during the game Tuesday.

It doesn't appear serious and he is hoping to be back for Thursday's home opener. O'Quinn struggled with foul trouble on Tuesday but should be in line for a better game next time he suits up. He is a low-end value in standard leagues even when Channing Frye (knee) returns.
Oct 29 - 1:34 PM

Kyle O'Quinn quickly got into foul trouble during Orlando's season opener, finishing with four points, two rebounds, five assists, one steal and three blocks in 21 minutes.

O'Quinn's solid preseason established him as the fill-in PF while Channing Frye recovers from a sprained MCL. It helps that O'Quinn developed 3-point range this summer, though he went 0-of-1 from beyond the arc on Tuesday. Fantasy owners can expect reliable low-end value from O'Quinn this year, as he should maintain a sizable role even if/when he shifts to the bench.
Oct 28 - 10:42 PM

Kyle O'Quinn posted another well-rounded line in 29 minutes as a starter in Friday's exhibition, scoring 12 points with one 3-pointer, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.

O'Quinn's line was marred by five turnovers, but he has expanded his game admirably this offseason. While most PF/Cs talk about developing a reliable 3-point shot, he's actually done it -- he's a combined 4-of-7 from downtown in the past five games. His playing time is inflated due to Channing Frye's sprained MCL, but with Frye doubtful for the season opener O'Quinn is at worst an interesting short-term option.
Oct 24 - 9:38 PM

Kyle O'Quinn is hoping he can help space the floor better by consistently being able to knock down the 3-point shot.

"Number one, me and Vooch [center Nik Vucevic] might see more minutes together," said O'Quinn regarding his 3-point shooting. "We won’t just clog the paint. He’s a better finisher in the paint, a better post-up player. So if we let him have the paint, it’s probably to our advantage. And it may give me a couple more minutes because I’m not sitting on top of him, crowding his space." O'Quinn is going to struggle finding enough minutes for standard league relevance while Channing Frye is healthy, and right now, he looks like more of a deep league option.
Oct 19 - 12:16 PM

Kyle O'Quinn looked good against the 76ers on Saturday during a 95-84 loss, scoring 14 points with 11 boards, four assists and three steals in 30 minutes.

He's very underrated in fantasy, but the Magic have a logjam at forward. O'Quinn will likely get most of the backup minutes at center and he might actually turn in low-end fantasy value in that role. Although, most fantasy owners should shoot for a higher upside.
Oct 18 - 10:28 PM

Kyle O'Quinn has been working hard on adding a three-point shot to his arsenal.

He is the current starter for the Magic but that will probably change when Channing Frye returns. O'Quinn is solid when he gets the minutes and adding a three-point shot can't hurt. Keep an eye on him for now, as he may be a solid late-round pick if he holds on to his spot.
Oct 18 - 4:59 PM

Kyle O'Quinn started on Friday night for Orlando and looked impressive, scoring 14 points to go along with seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

O'Quinn added a pair of three-pointers to round out a nice fantasy line. He likely won't hold the starting spot as Channing Frye will start when he's healthy but O'Quinn is certainly someone to keep an eye on. He was quite serviceable over the final two months last season and could hold late round value if he gets the minutes.
Oct 18 - 8:24 AM

Coach Jacque Vaughn said he's been very impressed with Kyle O'Quinn's conditioning.

He was a pleasant surprise last season, but the team signed Channing Frye (knee), which figures to cut into his playing time. If Frye is ready to go for the season opener, O'Quinn won't have much fantasy value.
Oct 7 - 11:11 AM

Kyle O'Quinn scored 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting with seven rebounds and one block in Monday's loss to the Bulls.

O'Quinn has been great for the last two months and should be in all lineups. Victor Oladipo continued to play limited minutes (23) with 10 points, three rebounds, four assists, a steal and a three, and Dewayne Dedmon supplied some big-man stats with six points, nine boards and two blocks in 28 minutes.
Apr 14 - 11:02 PM

Kyle O'Quinn played well in his 25 minutes of action on Friday during a 96-86 loss to the Wizards, scoring 13 points with nine boards, one assist and three blocks.

He shot 6-of-9 from the field, but just 1-of-4 from the line. O'Quinn has been solid since Nikola Vuecvic went down and he's hit double-figure scoring in each of those four. He's a solid option in fantasy leagues thanks to 17 blocks in his last five games.
Apr 11 - 10:16 PM

Kyle O'Quinn made 6-of-7 from the field for 14 points against the Wolves on Saturday with 13 boards, one assist, one steal and four blocks in 31 minutes.

Strangely enough, he had more makes from the field tonight than he did in his 5-of-20 from the field on Friday. Even before taking into account his recent offensive outburst, O'Quinn seemed to have already made his case as a must-own player for his boards and blocks. He shouldn't be on any wires until Nikola Vucevic (Achilles) is back.
Apr 5 - 9:55 PM

Kyle O'Quinn attempted a career-high 20 shots against the Bobcats on Friday, making five of them for 10 points with six boards, one assist, three steals and five blocks in 30 minutes.

He started at center with Nikola Vucevic (Achilles) out and may have turned in the highest usage rate of his career. O'Quinn has some solid per-minute averages thanks to some nice block totals, and is definitely worth a speculative add in all leagues for Saturday night vs. the Wolves and possibly beyond.
Apr 4 - 9:31 PM

Magic big man Kyle O'Quinn struggled in a scoreless performance on Sunday, missing his two shot attempts while grabbing three rebounds in 15 minutes.

O'Quinn's offense is a secondary concern for the Magic, and he's still been helping fantasy owners with 7.7 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 1.8 blocks per game in March. Dewayne Dedmon played well in 15 minutes off the bench tonight and it's worth keeping an eye on Orlando's frontcourt rotations, but O'Quinn should maintain his 20-25 minute role for the final eight games of the season.
Mar 30 - 8:34 PM

Kyle O'Quinn will start at PF for the Magic when they take on the Bobcats Friday.

This will be O'Quinn's 10th consecutive start at PF and while the results have been unspectacular, the 24-year-old can provide some fantasy value as a starter. O'Quinn is averaging 8.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.9 blocks in 22.5 minutes per game over his last 10 contests and should be looked at as a solid start with a low ceiling in medium-to-deep leagues.
