Kyle O'Quinn started in place of Kristaps Porzingis (illness) on Thursday vs. the Knicks, but he finished with just eight points, six boards, three assists, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes.
He had a few fouls and shot just 4-of-13 from the field, so coach Derek Fisher didn't give him too much burn despite the fact that Knicks were missing several players. Porzingis is day-to-day, so there is no reason to look KOQ's way in most leagues. Jan 28 - 11:18 PM

Date:

Kyle O'Quinn will start in place of Kristaps Porzingis against the Raptors on Thursday.

With the team so thin, it makes sense to keep Derrick Williams in the second unit to carry the bench. O'Quinn had a great preseason, so maybe he can put together a nice game tonight. Williams and Lance Thomas are much better option tonight.
Jan 28 - 7:41 PM

Kyle O'Quinn, who did not play on Tuesday, finished Wednesday's game with two points, one turnover and no other stats in five minutes.

KOQ has tantalizing per-minute fantasy potential but he can't seem to maintain a foothold in Derek Fisher's rotation. He can't be owned unless he begins to average a steady 20 minutes off the Knicks' bench.
Jan 6 - 10:14 PM

Kyle O'Quinn returned to the lineup on Saturday with seven points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal and five turnovers.

He didn't play well in his 22 minutes and probably lost his chance for minutes. He is not worth owning in most leagues after an impressive preseason.

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) will play against the Hawks on Saturday.

KOQ was playing really well off the bench prior to his injury, but he still isn't getting enough minutes to make a big impact in standard leagues. Keep an eye on his role moving forward, though. Kevin Seraphin and Derrick Williams lose some minutes with this news.

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) will not play on Wednesday vs. Cleveland.

O'Quinn went through a full shootaround on Wednesday morning, so this is a little surprising. Expect the big man to be back in action on Saturday vs. Atlanta. He'll need more minutes to have sustainable fantasy value in standard formats. Derrick Williams and Kevin Seraphin could see a boost in time without O'Quinn.
Wed, Dec 23, 2015 05:35:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) participated in all portions of Wednesday morning's shootaround, but he remains questionable for tonight's game against the Cavs.

If O'Quinn isn't able to give it a go tonight, Derrick Williams and Lance Thomas will split his minutes. O'Quinn is averaging just 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.8 blocks on the season, so he's irrelevant in nearly all leagues.

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.

O'Quinn was unable to play against the Magic on Monday and looks in danger of missing Wednesday's game as well. We'll keep an eye on his stauts, but Lance Thomas and Derrick Williams will see some extra minutes on Wednesday if O'Quinn is unable to play.

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) will not play against the Magic on Monday.

Kevin Seraphin should be in the rotation tonight and we should see more Kristaps Porzingis at the five with a little more of Lance Thomas and maybe even some Derrick Williams. Robin Lopez may also get more run. O'Quinn is not worth owning in most leagues.
Mon, Dec 21, 2015 05:50:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn played well off the bench against the Blazers on Saturday, scoring a season-high 14 points with seven boards, two assists and one block in 19 minutes.

He has now strung together three good games in a row, averaging 9.7 points, 6.3 boards, 2.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in just 16.0 minutes per game in that span. Kristaps Porzingis is starting to slow down after a hot start to the season, so KOQ is suddenly on the radar in deeper leagues. He still needs a lot more playing time, though.
Sun, Dec 13, 2015 12:51:00 AM

Kyle O'Quinn was a DNP-CD on Tuesday.

That strong preseason seems like a distant memory. Kristaps Porzingis is NBA-ready, so the need to play O'Quinn decreases in a big way. He's also being outplayed by a host of others. He's played just 12 minutes combined in his last three games, so fantasy owners should know what to do.
Tue, Nov 17, 2015 10:51:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn played three minutes with no points, one turnover and two fouls on Friday.

Kristaps Porzingis has just been too good right now. O'Quinn hasn't topped more than 12 minutes in any of his last four and can be cut loose in most leagues.
Sat, Nov 14, 2015 12:17:00 AM

Kyle O'Quinn played only 11 minutes off the Knicks' bench on Sunday, scoring one point with two rebounds and one assist.

KOQ has plenty of fantasy potential but it's going untapped thanks to low playing time. He's played only 20 of his 115 minutes next to Robin Lopez or Kristaps Porzingis -- unless Derek Fisher changes his rotations, or a Knicks' starter gets hurt, it's hard to envision O'Quinn blowing up. Just how much upside does he have? Despite playing only 18.1 minutes per game, O'Quinn has returned late-round value this year.
Sun, Nov 8, 2015 07:24:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn scored six points on 3-of-6 shooting with five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes off the bench on Monday against the Spurs.

KOQ has been great so far this year and he should be a consistent low-end play. Don't panic unless he goes through a prolonged stretch of games like this.
Mon, Nov 2, 2015 10:55:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn double-doubled against the Hawks on Thursday with 10 points, 10 boards, three assists, one steal and one block in 22 minutes.

His three assists were beautiful tonight and he's worked himself in nicely to the triangle offense. O'Quinn didn't have the coaches behind him in Orlando and he's coming off a wonderful preseason, so he's on the radar in even standard leagues.
