Kyle O'Quinn said that he's working on his body, his knowledge of the game and his jumper prior to the season beginning.
Of those three, O'Quinn's body is arguably the most important given the on-again, off-again conditioning issues he's had during his NBA career. Although KOQ is still penciled in as Joakim Noah's backup, he'll have more competition for minutes than he did last year when his playing time fell off a cliff. Sep 3 - 4:19 PM

Phil Jackson said that Kyle O'Quinn may play some backup center to fill the void behind Joakim Noah.

There won't be many minutes available for KOQ, but this doesn't bode well for the outlook of rookie Willy Hernangomez. Most fantasy league owners can safely ignore O'Quinn for now.

Kyle O'Quinn has used hot yoga to trim off some weight during the offseason.

Of course he has. "I’m trying to stay in the best Kyle form I can be. … It just came to me, the yoga idea. Switch it up a little bit in the offseason," O'Quinn said. KOQ is expected to be the primary backup behind Joakim Noah entering the 2016-17 campaign.
Jul 6 - 1:56 PM

Kyle O'Quinn said that he will use his disappointing 2015-16 season as an opportunity to grow.

"I look back on it as an opportunity to grow as a pro, another year in the NBA," O'Quinn said. "I look at some parts of the season as very solid and want to build off of. Other parts of the season I look at as maybe I can’t do that because it leads to minutes going down or finding myself outside the rotation." O'Quinn has three years left on his four-year, $16 million deal, but maybe a fresh start under new coach Jeff Hornacek will be good for him. KOQ will be a role player at best for the Knicks next season.

A woman was allegedly assaulted by Knicks forward Kyle O'Quinn at a Manhattan bar.

The case is still under investigation and there aren't many details at this point. The woman claims that O'Quinn's girlfriend assaulted her first and that O'Quinn was also involved in the altercation. KOQ and his girlfriend are being sued, but we should know more information soon. A spokesman for O'Quinn declined to comment.
Jun 5 - 1:25 PM

Kyle O'Quinn scored 10 points with four rebounds, three blocks and two turnovers in 16 minutes against the Pistons on Saturday.

Kristaps Porzingis (leg) did not play and coach Kurt Rambis said he's cooling on the idea of giving KP minutes at the five anyway. O'Quinn would only be worth a look in deeper leagues.
Mar 5 - 9:41 PM

Kyle O'Quinn came off the bench and played 25 minutes, finishing with 11 points, nine rebounds and two 3-pointers on Tuesday.

Starter Robin Lopez played just 19 minutes and didn't do much, and KOQ got some extra run with the game easily out of hand for the Knicks. KOQ didn't even score in his previous two games but did have 19 points and six boards last Wednesday. He's worth keeping an eye on, but as long as Ro-Lo is starting, O'Quinn should be avoided on most nights.
Mar 1 - 10:33 PM

Kyle O'Quinn finally got some run on Wednesday, playing 16 minutes to finish with a season-high 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, two 3-pointers, six rebounds and one block.

KOQ has struggled to find a foothold in the Knicks' rotation, and this is the first time he's played more than 10 minutes in February. We'll let you know if the per-minute dynamo sees a sustained boost in playing time, which is possible after tonight's eruption.
Feb 24 - 11:01 PM

Kyle O'Quinn started in place of Kristaps Porzingis (illness) on Thursday vs. the Knicks, but he finished with just eight points, six boards, three assists, one steal and two blocks in 19 minutes.

He had a few fouls and shot just 4-of-13 from the field, so coach Derek Fisher didn't give him too much burn despite the fact that Knicks were missing several players. Porzingis is day-to-day, so there is no reason to look KOQ's way in most leagues.
Jan 28 - 11:18 PM

Kyle O'Quinn will start in place of Kristaps Porzingis against the Raptors on Thursday.

With the team so thin, it makes sense to keep Derrick Williams in the second unit to carry the bench. O'Quinn had a great preseason, so maybe he can put together a nice game tonight. Williams and Lance Thomas are much better option tonight.
Jan 28 - 7:41 PM

Kyle O'Quinn, who did not play on Tuesday, finished Wednesday's game with two points, one turnover and no other stats in five minutes.

KOQ has tantalizing per-minute fantasy potential but he can't seem to maintain a foothold in Derek Fisher's rotation. He can't be owned unless he begins to average a steady 20 minutes off the Knicks' bench.
Jan 6 - 10:14 PM

Kyle O'Quinn returned to the lineup on Saturday with seven points, four rebounds, four assists, one steal and five turnovers.

He didn't play well in his 22 minutes and probably lost his chance for minutes. He is not worth owning in most leagues after an impressive preseason.

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) will play against the Hawks on Saturday.

KOQ was playing really well off the bench prior to his injury, but he still isn't getting enough minutes to make a big impact in standard leagues. Keep an eye on his role moving forward, though. Kevin Seraphin and Derrick Williams lose some minutes with this news.
Sat, Dec 26, 2015 12:15:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) will not play on Wednesday vs. Cleveland.

O'Quinn went through a full shootaround on Wednesday morning, so this is a little surprising. Expect the big man to be back in action on Saturday vs. Atlanta. He'll need more minutes to have sustainable fantasy value in standard formats. Derrick Williams and Kevin Seraphin could see a boost in time without O'Quinn.
Wed, Dec 23, 2015 05:35:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn (ankle) participated in all portions of Wednesday morning's shootaround, but he remains questionable for tonight's game against the Cavs.

If O'Quinn isn't able to give it a go tonight, Derrick Williams and Lance Thomas will split his minutes. O'Quinn is averaging just 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.8 blocks on the season, so he's irrelevant in nearly all leagues.
