Kyle O'Quinn scored nine points with five rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks in 25 minutes against the 76ers on Saturday.
A 4x5 will work for KOQ. Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) and Joakim Noah (hamstring) did not play in this game while Willy Hernangomez was in some foul trouble, so it was a perfect storm for O'Quinn. We've seen about a dozen big games from him this year, but he can fall off faster than just about anyone. If you want to add him, just remember you might be dropping him after his next game. Updating a previous report, the Knicks will start Lance Thomas in place of Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles).

The Knicks listed Kyle O'Quinn as the starter initially, but they changed their mind right before tip-off. KOQ is still expected to get decent burn against Philly, but he's a volatile fantasy option with a high ceiling and very low floor.
Feb 25 - 7:45 PM

The Knicks will start Carmelo Anthony, Willy Hernangomez, Kyle O'Quinn, Derrick Rose and Courtney Lee against the 76ers on Saturday.

The Knicks will go bigger against the 76ers, which is interesting against a guy like Dario Saric at the four. O'Quinn will be worth a look in the short term, but he's as unpredictable as they come.
Feb 25 - 7:05 PM

Kyle O'Quinn scored four points with 10 rebounds, one steal and one turnover in 19 minutes against the Cavs on Thursday.

With Joakim Noah (hamstring) still on the shelf and Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) getting hurt today, O'Quinn may have to play minutes in the 20s until those guys can come back. He is as inconsistent as they come and coming off the bench won't help, but KOQ is worth a look for anyone needing a big man with defensive stats in the short term.
Feb 23 - 11:33 PM

The Knicks are looking to get a first round pick for Kyle O'Quinn, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

The trade market for centers is somewhat saturated, so that's a steep price on KOQ. He has $8.3 million over the next two years, so his deal is more cap friendly than a guy like Brook Lopez. A trade would likely hurt his fantasy value.
Feb 22 - 5:48 PM

Kyle O'Quinn continued his streak of strong performances on Sunday with four points, seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks in 21 minutes vs. the Spurs.

The scoring wasn't there for KOQ tonight, but he chipped in enough to satisfy owners in standard formats. Joakim Noah (hamstring) is already being called doubtful for Wednesday's game and the Knicks are likely to rest him through the All-Star break, so O'Quinn should be a safe option in New York's final game before the break.
Feb 12 - 7:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn was terrific off the bench with 16 points, six rebounds, three assists and four blocks in 22 minutes against the Nuggets on Friday.

Coach Jeff Hornacek stuck with him at center in one of O'Quinn's best games of the year. A good game out of the blue is nothing new for O'Quinn and he should have another chance to perform on Sunday with Joakim Noah (hamstring) unlikely. He's a little unreliable, so we would only suggest adding him if you have something you're not going to miss.
Feb 10 - 9:57 PM

Kyle O'Quinn racked up 18 points, six rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 119-115 loss to L.A.

O'Quinn is all over the place and tonight's line comes on the heels of two games in which he averaged 8.5 points and 3.0 boards with zero defensive stats. He's a pure gamble in DFS and as a streaming option, although the absence of Joakim Noah (hamstring) does improve his odds of erupting again this week.
Feb 9 - 1:49 AM

Kyle O'Quinn started for Joakim Noah (hamstring) on Monday vs. the Lakers, scoring 10 points on 2-of-5 shooting.

He racked up three fouls in 16 minutes which has been an issue for him all season, adding two boards and one assist. KOQ hit all six of his free throws, but it's clear that he's going to be a volatile option even if Noah misses more time (which seems likely). The Knicks do play three more times this week and KOQ can go off at any time, so feel free to roll the dice on him if you need a big.
Feb 6 - 10:34 PM

Kyle O'Quinn will be in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Lakers, with Joakim Noah (hamstring) unavailable.

Noah will probably miss additional time, so both KOQ and Willy Hernangomez are on the streaming radar this week. KOQ is prone to duds and gets into foul trouble a lot which gives him a low floor, but he's also capable of some monster lines which makes him a tournament option in DFS. In six previous starts this season, he has averaged 8.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 block.
Feb 6 - 5:36 PM

Kyle O'Quinn is expected to start in place of Joakim Noah (hamstring) on Monday vs. the Lakers.

Willy Hernangomez is also an option, but coach Jeff Hornacek said he likes pairing the rookie with Brandon Jennings in the second unit -- Derrick Rose (ankle) is expected to return tonight. KOQ has averaged 8.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 block in six previous starts this season, and while he has solid upside, he's also prone to duds as well. He's on the streaming radar in the short term and is a potential DFS play on Monday night.

Feb 6 - 9:26 AM

Kyle O'Quinn started the second half against the Cavs on Saturday, finishing with seven points, four rebounds, one assist and no turnovers in 13 minutes.

Joakim Noah (hamstring) is probably headed to the inactive list for a little while after he suffered a hamstring strain, came back in, and them was ruled out for the same reason moments late. In his previous six starts, O'Quinn averaged 8.3 points, 7.3 boards, 1.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.3 steals. That'll work for most owners, so he's worth a look for a short-term boost. To be clear, we definitely prefer Willy Hernangomez.
Feb 4 - 11:07 PM

Kyle O'Quinn double-doubled in 17 minutes vs. the Wizards on Tuesday, scoring 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds, one assist and two blocks.

The per-minute monster was up to his old tricks again, but keep in mind that Kristaps Porzingis was out with an illness. KOQ's role fluctuates a ton and he played less than 10 minutes in three out of his last six games, so he's tough to rely on in standard leagues. If Porzingis is out again on Wednesday vs. the Nets, feel free to give KOQ a look as a streaming option.
Jan 31 - 10:05 PM

Kyle O'Quinn gave the Knicks a spark in the second half of Friday's win over the Hornets, scoring 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting with seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks in just 16 minutes.

Willy Hernangomez was the backup center in the first half and KOQ didn't even see the floor until the third quarter, but he made a huge impact on defense and coach Jeff Hornacek rewarded him down the stretch. KOQ is one of the most volatile fantasy assets around, so we can't get behind a pickup until he's doing this on a consistent basis. Hernangomez has the better outlook going forward.
Jan 27 - 10:21 PM

Kyle O'Quinn played just five minutes off the bench on Saturday, finishing with zero points and one rebound.

KOQ has been all over the place lately and had 14 points and eight boards in a start on Thursday. But with Joakim Noah back in action, O'Quinn barely got off the bench tonight. He's averaging a grand total of just 5.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 12.6 minutes per game over his last five. If you picked him up after back-to-back double-doubles on Jan. 11 and 12, you've probably already dropped him, as that hot run appears to have been a fluke.
