Kyle O'Quinn scored 15 points with 10 rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals in 24 minutes against the 76ers on Thursday.
He's looking at minutes in the 20s most nights and he got a slight boost because Enes Kanter struggled against Joel Embiid. O'Quinn could be an option in DFS or as a stream, but he's been known to disappoint. Mar 15 - 10:56 PM

Kyle O'Quinn went 3-of-9 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line on his way to eight points in 22 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 132-106 loss to the Raptors.

O'Quinn added seven rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two turnovers while he was out there, and he was able to see a slight uptick in minutes with Enes Kanter (back) unavailable. O'Quinn is about as inconsistent as they come, but he's been playing well over the past few weeks with averages of 8.7 points, 5.5 boards, 3.2 dimes, 2.0 swats and just 1.2 turnovers per contest. He's on the radar in deep leagues.
Mar 11 - 4:50 PM

Kyle O'Quinn racked up 14 points across just 17 minutes in Friday's loss in Milwaukee.

O'Quinn was very effective from the floor, going 6-of-8 while adding 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. He also chipped in with six assists, two rebounds, three blocked shots and a steal in his limited work. O'Quinn has been alternative solid stat lines with poor ones lately. That type of inconsistency makes him risky to use outside of deeper fantasy play.
Mar 10 - 12:04 AM

Kyle O'Quinn had a nice game off the bench Sunday in Sacramento, finishing with 14 points across 26 minutes.

O'Quinn hit 4-of-6 from the field while going a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line, while adding eight rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots and two steals while turning it over just twice. It was quite the bounce-back game after he was scoreless on an 0-of-3 shooting night on the road against the Clippers on Friday night. The erratic production makes him a risky fantasy play in most leagues.
Mar 5 - 12:13 AM

Kyle O'Quinn played well in 19 minutes on Thursday with 14 points (6-of-8 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), eight rebounds, three blocks and one assist.

O'Quinn had great energy in his first game back from the All-Star break, and for now it seems New York will stick with the 27-year-old as the primary backup for Enes Kanter. His case for minutes was also aided by a poor showing from Luke Kornet, who went scoreless on 0-of-5 shooting. Even if he does avoid a shutdown, though, O'Quinn isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Feb 22 - 10:00 PM

Kyle O'Quinn came off the bench and played 12 minutes vs. Philly, scoring four points with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.

KOQ was actually listed as a starter tonight, but coach Jeff Hornacek changed his mind and stuck with Michael Beasley next to Enes Kanter. KOQ is still Kanter's primary backup, but Luke Kornet might leapfrog him in the rotation soon.
Feb 12 - 10:06 PM

It was widely reported that Michael Beasley would come off the bench and Kyle O'Quinn would start on Monday, but it was later determined that Beasley is starting and O'Quinn is coming off the bench.

Unfortunately, the official lineup came in after the 7:00 lineup deadline in many leagues, but we're only as good as the reporters at the arena. The good news is that Beasley and KOQ are both keys for the Knicks nowadays, and both will play heavy minutes whether starting or coming off the bench.
Feb 12 - 7:12 PM

Kyle O'Quinn will start on Monday vs. the 76ers, sending Michael Beasley to the bench.

The Knicks will start Jarrett Jack, Tim Hardaway Jr., Lance Thomas, Kyle O’Quinn and Enes Kanter tonight. It sounds like coach Jeff Hornacek wants to play his younger guys more after the All-Star break, so this isn't a lineup that will last for long. With KOQ starting next to Kanter, that could allow Luke Kornet to be one of the first bigs off the bench along with Beasley.
Feb 12 - 6:18 PM

Kyle O'Quinn played 21 minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring 14 points on 5-of-6 FGs and 3-of-5 FTs, with nine rebounds, two assists and three blocks.

KOQ continues to carve out a solid role despite his status as a veteran on a bad team. Kristaps Porzingis' ACL injury has opened up frontcourt minutes, but O'Quinn's fantasy owners are living on borrowed time. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Feb 11 - 8:17 PM

Kyle O'Quinn scored nine points with eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks in a start during 26 minutes against the Raptors on Thursday.

His playing time didn't go up too much as Luke Kornet played well behind him, and this game got to garbage time. O'Quinn should continue to start while Enes Kanter (mouth) is out and he does gain some value because of Kristaps Porzingis (knee) leaving some center minutes available. KOQ doesn't offer enough upside to add in 10-team leagues, but give him a look if you want a short-term boost.
Feb 8 - 10:50 PM

Kyle O'Quinn will start against the Raptors on Thursday.

Enes Kanter (mouth) is not going to play today, so O'Quinn should have a good chance at over 20 minutes. He'll have Luke Kornet and Isaiah Hicks backing him up. KOQ as a chalk play can burn a DFS player, but he's really in a great spot. For season long, KOQ is a lukewarm add because the Knicks will need him to play more center because of Kristaps Porzingis (knee) logging almost 200 minutes at the five.
Feb 8 - 6:37 PM

Kyle O'Quinn played 13 minutes vs. the Bucks on Tuesday with two points, three rebounds, two assists and one block.

Kristaps Porzingis suffered a torn ACL tonight, so there are some minutes up for grabs in New York. In six games without Porzingis on the floor this season, KOQ averaged 9.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.2 blocks in 18.6 minutes. He's not a big winner like Michael Beasley, but he's a solid per-minute producer and could have some value going forward. Keep an eye on him, but keep in mind that he's on the trade block along with Willy Hernangomez.
Feb 7 - 12:15 AM

Kyle O'Quinn scored three points with five rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in 17 minutes against the Suns on Friday.

He's locked in as the backup center and should see close minutes in the teens in the short term. O'Quinn could also be traded and the Knicks still do run with Kristaps Porzingis at the five on occasion.
Jan 27 - 1:57 AM

Kyle O'Quinn (calf) will be available on Friday vs. the Suns.

With KOQ back after a two-game absence, it's going to be interesting to see if he reprises his role as the backup center as opposed to Willy Hernangomez. Both these players are worth monitoring with the trade deadline looming.
Jan 26 - 7:43 PM

Kyle O'Quinn (calf) will not play vs. Nuggets on Thursday.

This will be his second game in a row out and that should allow Willy Hernangomez to get minutes again. The second-year big saw 18 minutes of action on Tuesday with eight points, three rebounds and five assists. With the trade deadline approaching, Hernangomez is a decent stash and now he has some standalone value.
