Head coach Flip Saunders said that Robbie Hummel (hand) will be reevaluated this week.
Hummel has been sidelined since Jan. 25 and has missed the last 15 games, but it's likely going to be a couple more weeks before we see him back in action. He was averaging just 4.2 points and 2.8 boards in 15.0 minutes per game prior to the injury, so owners outside of the deepest of leagues can ignore this news. Mar 1 - 9:09 AM

Robbie Hummel (hand) is expected to return in three weeks.

The Wolves need him back. Shabazz Muhammad (finger) is out for the season and Thaddeus Young is in Brooklyn, so they will need someone to play the forward spots. What's more, Gary Neal is also out tonight, so Andrew Wiggins and Kevin Martin won't have any backups from players who logged any minutes at the two or three in their last game. We might see some Glenn Robinson III and Zach LaVine on the wing with Lorenzo Brown playing backup point guard.
Feb 23 - 3:06 PM

Robbie Hummel (hand) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Suns.

Even when given the minutes, Hummel hasn't been able to produce in a meaningful way in standard fantasy leagues. He's averaging just 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds on the year, and he can safely remain on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Feb 19 - 5:13 PM

Robbie Hummel suffered a broken hand during Sunday's game against the Hawks, and he is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks.

It's a tough blow for Minnesota, as they can't seem to catch a break with injuries this season. By the time he returns to action in March, Minnesota will likely have Shabazz Muhammad (abdominals) and Kevin Martin (wrist) back into their rotation, so Hummel can be dropped in almost all leagues. Chase Budinger should pick up a few extra minutes off the bench in the meantime.

Robbie Hummel left Sunday's game against the Hawks with a hand injury and did not return, finishing with nine points, four boards, one assist and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes.

He lost his starting spot on Sunday with Minnesota opting to pair Nikola Pekovic and Gorgui Dieng together in the frontcourt, so his value was already trending down prior to the injury. We will consider him day-to-day until we get an update on his status, and we would expect Chase Budinger to pick up a few extra minutes off the bench if Hummel has to miss any additional time.

Robbie Hummel didn't score in a start against the Hornets on Monday, adding seven rebounds, one assist and one steal

Amazingly, he had just a 2.1 usage rate in his 24.2 minutes of action today. Hummel was solid on the glass and he'll likely keep his starting job until Kevin Martin (wrist) is back. That figures to be this week, so Hummel has an expiration date coming up on his fantasy value.
Jan 19 - 4:33 PM

Robbie Hummel made his first start of the season on Saturday against the Nuggets and double-doubled with 15 points, 13 boards, one block and one 3-pointer in 43 minutes.

Wow. Hummel came into tonight's game averaging 3.8 points and 2.3 boards in just 12.7 minutes per game on the season, so congrats are in order if you took a flier on him in daily leagues. However, this game was likely a fluke and we would have to see another performance like this before we could justify an add outside of the deepest of leagues. The impending return of Kevin Martin (wrist) and Shabazz Muhammad (abdominals) also destroys any hope for long-term value here, so feel free to leave Hummel on the wire.
Jan 17 - 11:51 PM

Robbie Hummel is starting over Chase Budinger for Saturday's game against the Nuggets.

There is no word of an injury to Budinger, so it's clearly just a strategic move by Minnesota. However, both players have been inconsistent this season and shouldn't be owned until further notice in standard leagues.
Jan 17 - 9:15 PM

Robbie Hummel scored nine points with three rebounds and one steal in 25 minutes on Saturday.

He actually plays point guard on occasion, but this was by far his best game of the season. Hummel's fantasy value will head south once Shabazz Muhammad (abdominal) returns, though.
Jan 11 - 1:42 AM

Robbie Hummel (illness) is available to play on Wednesday.

He might not be out there and is not a part of the rotation while the team is healthy. While it's nice to see his knees are holding up, Hummel has no fantasy value.
Jan 7 - 8:25 PM

Robbie Hummel (illness) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns.

He is averaging just 11.7 minutes on the season, so you can leave him on the waiver wire even if he is active. Expect Troy Daniels to see extra minutes if Hummel sits.
Jan 7 - 12:22 PM

Robbie Hummel (illness) will not play against the Nuggets on Monday.

He doesn't play a lot and only really gets minutes when the Wolves are extremely banged up. Hummel can be ignored in almost all leagues.
Jan 5 - 7:08 PM

Robbie Hummel (illness) did not participate in shootaround, and is questionable to play on Monday against the Rockets.

The last time Hummel got a blurb, it was a week and a half before Halloween 2014. That should tell you all you need to know about his fantasy value.
Jan 5 - 12:39 PM

Wolves F Robbie Hummel scored 13 points with seven rebounds, three assists and one block Sunday's exhibition, playing 19 minutes in relief of Anthony Bennett (sore knee).

He made 6-of-9 FGs with one 3-pointer off the bench and might be lucky to match this line all season. Hummel will be a marginal part of the rotation but he picked up extra minutes due to Bennett's unexpected departure, combined with precautionary DNPs for Shabazz Muhammad (heel) and Chase Budinger.
Sun, Oct 19, 2014 10:10:00 PM

Robbie Hummel re-signed with the Wolves on a one-year deal worth the minimum.

The Wolves didn't extend him to a qualifying offer last month, but he still received a guaranteed contract at a shade under $1 million. Hummel still hasn't been able to get his career off the ground since suffering two ACL tears at Purdue and he is unlikely to be in the rotation this season.
