Alexey Shved (ribs) said that staying in New York will be his top priority in the offseason.
"I hope next year I can stay here,’’ Shved said. "My agent will do his work summertime but I want to stay here. We had a lot of problems and injuries. Everything will change next year and I want to be part of it.’’ Shved was fantastic for the Knicks before suffering a cracked rib on March 22, averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. The Knicks will obviously reload for next season through the draft and via free agency, so there is no guarantee that we will see Shved in a Knicks' uniform next season. Apr 12 - 9:12 AM

Alexey Shved (ribs) is open to re-signing with the Knicks after the 2014-15 season, according to sources.

According to those same sources, Shved loves playing for Knicks head coach Derek Fisher and is open to returning to the Knicks when he becomes and unrestricted free agent after the summer. Shved played some of the best basketball of his career with the Knicks in March and 16.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.4 blocks, and 1.9 three-pointers during the month. The 26-year-old can be dropped in all fantasy leagues as there's a good chance he won't play again this season, but he's a player fantasy owners should keep in mind for the 2015-16 season.
Mar 31 - 10:55 AM

Alexey Shved (ribs) suffered an incomplete fractured rib and will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks.

There is a good chance he is going to be out for the season, which is too bad because he was playing the best basketball of his life. With Shved out, Shane Larkin will start while Langston Galloway will run the offense a lot more for the Knicks. Galloway is worth owning in all standard leagues while Ricky Ledo and Cleanthony Early may also get some of Shved's minutes.
Mar 25 - 6:16 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) will not play against the Clippers on Wednesday night and coach Derek Fisher said he is "a ways away" from playing.

He was questionable to play but Knicks writer Ian Begley writes that Shved "will likely be out through the weekend at least," which is not what his fantasy owners wanted to hear. With Shved out, Shane Larkin and Langston Galloway will benefit the most. Galloway has played particularly well and is worth a long look in standard leagues.
Mar 25 - 5:19 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) is questionable to play Wednesday vs. the Clippers.

For what it's worth, Shved is being listed as the probable starter for Wednesday's matchup, but we'll have a better idea of his availability following Wednesday morning's shootaround. If he's unable to go, Langston Galloway and Shane Larkin would be asked to log heavy minutes for the injury depleted Knicks, with Galloway offering the most upside. Stay tuned.
Mar 24 - 4:58 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) will not play against the Grizzlies on Monday and is hopeful to play on Wednesday.

He has been the Knicks best player, playing 31.2 minutes per game with a 26.5 usage rate over his last 10 games. Shved also had an assist percentage of 26.5, so there will have to be others on the team to help facilitate the offense. Shane Larkin and Ricky Ledo figure to get most of Shved's playing time. Larkin is the safer bet and a better play in most leagues while Ledo may have more chances to score.
Mar 23 - 5:49 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) is unlikely to play against the Grizzlies on Monday.

The Knicks are in trouble and are running out of depth. Now it'll likely be Ricky Ledo getting minutes in the rotation and may start after playing eight minutes on Sunday. Shane Larkin replaced Shved on Sunday and may see the biggest increase in production. Plus, Langston Galloway should have the ball more based on Shved's 25.8 usage rate with the Knicks. Shved's owners probably can't play him this week in most cases.

Mar 23 - 3:16 PM

X-rays on Alexey Shved's injured ribs were negative on Sunday, but he's considered questionable for Monday against the Grizzlies.

Shved left Sunday's game without returning, and it's a bad time for him to get hurt considering that he's been rolling for owners who snagged him off the waiver wire. If he sits, Shane Larkin, Ricky Ledo and Langston Galloway are likely to get more playing time with Jose Calderon (Achilles), Tim Hardaway Jr. (wrist) already out.

Alexey Shved suffered a rib contusion during Sunday's game and he will not return.

Shved will end Sunday's game with nine points, two rebounds, two assists and two turnovers. Shane Larkin started the second half in Shved's place, and we'll be monitoring this situation closely. The Knicks play again on Monday vs. the Grizzlies, and we'll be considering Shved questionable for that one. Larkin will get some more playing time, but he doesn't do enough on the stat sheet to matter in most leagues.
Mar 22 - 5:31 PM

Alexey Shved hit 8-of-14 shots (7-of-8 from deep) for 25 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in Friday's loss to the Sixers.

Shved is basically found money for owners at this point and we don't know how long he can do this but he's a top-60 guy over the past two weeks. Getting to the foul line 6.1 times per game in that span and cleaning things up a bit there at a clip of 72.7 percent, his other numbers are mostly in a reasonable place assuming he keeps playing well as Derek Fisher's lead guard.
Mar 20 - 11:34 PM

Alexey Shved scored 20 points during a 95-92 overtime loss to the Wolves on Thursday with five rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block in 43 minutes.

He was 7-of-21 from the field and missed all seven shots from beyond the arc tonight. Shved has been very aggressive lately and coach Derek Fisher continues to use him as the team's facilitator. The field goal shooting won't be great, but Shved is worth owning in all standard leagues.
Mar 19 - 10:27 PM

Alexey Shved had 21 points, one 3-pointer, three rebounds, seven assists, three steals and only one turnover in 36 minutes on Tuesday, leading the Knicks past the visiting Spurs in overtime.

Derek Fisher is turning Shved loose and Jose Calderon's season might be over due to his Achilles injury, so Shved should be safe to deploy in New York's remaining 15 games. He's rapidly ascended to top-100 value over the past few weeks, with his poor percentages offset by solid points (15.6), 3-pointers (2.1), rebounds (5.3), assists (3.7) and steals (0.9). He even sealed tonight's win with a savvy defensive play, breaking up Tim Duncan's attempted pass into the paint.
Mar 17 - 10:38 PM

Alexey Shved needed just 21 minutes to fill up the stat sheet against the Warriors on Saturday, scoring 14 points with four rebounds, five assists, three steals, one block and two 3-pointers.

He's locked in as the starter and is the team's top playmaker. In his last five, Shved averaged 16.6 points, 6.2 boards, 4.4 dimes, 0.8 steals and 2.2 treys. Shved turning into a go-to guy is one of the imponderable questions in the NBA, but the production has been there long enough to consider him a must-own player.
Mar 15 - 12:49 AM

Alexey Shved double-doubled against the Lakers on Thursday with 14 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.

It's his second consecutive double-double and he's clearly getting minutes. His coach loves him and he's been allowed to run the offense as the point guard. Shved could fall off in an instant, but he is worth a long look in standard leagues.
Mar 13 - 3:06 AM

Coach Derek Fisher said he likes Alexey Shved as a ball-handler due to his height.

"Guys that are lead guards and that can handle the basketball with the type of size that Alexey has, I think is good for any offense on any team," Fisher stated. "He can handle the ball and see over the defense and that allows him to make a lot of plays out there on the floor." Yes, it's now Alexey "Lead Guard" Shved to you, apparently. Before this season, Shved made just 35.8 percent from the field in his career, but now he's coming off 20.0 points per game in his last two. Somebody has to score for the Knicks and Shved may actually put up noteworthy value in standard leagues. Of course, there's a lot of risk in adding him, but he's worth a look at any depth.
