Alexey Shved has signed a three-year deal with Khimki Moscow of Russia.
This is a bit of a surprise after Shved had a strong finish to the 2014-15 regular season with the Knicks, but the three-year, $10.2 million offer from Khimki Moscow was just too much money to pass up for the 26-year-old. While Shved's contract does include an NBA out clause, he can be left off draft boards for the 2015-16 season. Jul 16 - 9:22 AM

Alexey Shved is reportedly set to sign a three-year deal with Russian club Khimki Moscow.

The contract does include an NBA out clause, so he's not officially bound to be overseas for the next three seasons. However, he'll at least be overseas for the 2015-16 season, so for now, he can be ignored in all fantasy leagues.

After turning down the Knicks most recent offer, Alexey Shved is contemplating a return to Europe.

"We didn’t get to the right number with the Knicks,’’ said Obrad Fimic, Shved’s Serbian agent. "Maybe next season. We are considering a return to Europe where we have two huge offers.’’ This could be some posturing from Shved's camp, but it is possible he has a much larger offer on the table from a European club, and he may be more interested in taking more money and likely a larger role to sign in Europe. We'll continue to track this situation closely.
Jul 14 - 4:15 PM

Alexey Shved has turned down the Knicks latest offer and is weighing a return to Europe, according to his agent.

This seems like a play designed to get the Knicks to up their offer to the 26-year-old, but we can't rule out of the possibility of Shved deciding to return to Europe. Shved surprised down the stretch with March averages of 16.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.9 three-pointers, so he's obviously capable of providing the Knicks with productive minutes. We'll keep an eye on this situation, but it would be somewhat of a surprise to see Shved return to Europe.
Jul 14 - 10:30 AM

The Knicks are still in the mix for free agent G Alexey Shved, but he does have some offers to play overseas.

The Knicks still have a $2.8 million exception they could use to re-sign Shved, so it's possible that a deal could be reached soon. Shved flourished down the stretch last season with averages of 16.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.9 three-pointers during the month of March, so it makes sense that the Knicks want to keep him. Shved has already turned down a minimum offer from NYK, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Jul 11 - 11:54 AM

Phil Jackson would like to re-sign Alexey Shved according to the New York Post.

Shved came alive during the month of March with averages of 16.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.9 three-pointers, but his season was cut short due to a cracked rib. The Knicks added Jerian Grant during the NBA Draft, but Shved could still have a decent role in New York if he decides to come back. We will keep a close eye on this story this summer.
Jun 28 - 9:50 AM

Alexey Shved (ribs) said that staying in New York will be his top priority in the offseason.

"I hope next year I can stay here,’’ Shved said. "My agent will do his work summertime but I want to stay here. We had a lot of problems and injuries. Everything will change next year and I want to be part of it.’’ Shved was fantastic for the Knicks before suffering a cracked rib on March 22, averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. The Knicks will obviously reload for next season through the draft and via free agency, so there is no guarantee that we will see Shved in a Knicks' uniform next season.
Apr 12 - 9:12 AM

Alexey Shved (ribs) is open to re-signing with the Knicks after the 2014-15 season, according to sources.

According to those same sources, Shved loves playing for Knicks head coach Derek Fisher and is open to returning to the Knicks when he becomes and unrestricted free agent after the summer. Shved played some of the best basketball of his career with the Knicks in March and 16.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.4 blocks, and 1.9 three-pointers during the month. The 26-year-old can be dropped in all fantasy leagues as there's a good chance he won't play again this season, but he's a player fantasy owners should keep in mind for the 2015-16 season.
Mar 31 - 10:55 AM

Alexey Shved (ribs) suffered an incomplete fractured rib and will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks.

There is a good chance he is going to be out for the season, which is too bad because he was playing the best basketball of his life. With Shved out, Shane Larkin will start while Langston Galloway will run the offense a lot more for the Knicks. Galloway is worth owning in all standard leagues while Ricky Ledo and Cleanthony Early may also get some of Shved's minutes.
Mar 25 - 6:16 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) will not play against the Clippers on Wednesday night and coach Derek Fisher said he is "a ways away" from playing.

He was questionable to play but Knicks writer Ian Begley writes that Shved "will likely be out through the weekend at least," which is not what his fantasy owners wanted to hear. With Shved out, Shane Larkin and Langston Galloway will benefit the most. Galloway has played particularly well and is worth a long look in standard leagues.
Mar 25 - 5:19 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) is questionable to play Wednesday vs. the Clippers.

For what it's worth, Shved is being listed as the probable starter for Wednesday's matchup, but we'll have a better idea of his availability following Wednesday morning's shootaround. If he's unable to go, Langston Galloway and Shane Larkin would be asked to log heavy minutes for the injury depleted Knicks, with Galloway offering the most upside. Stay tuned.
Mar 24 - 4:58 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) will not play against the Grizzlies on Monday and is hopeful to play on Wednesday.

He has been the Knicks best player, playing 31.2 minutes per game with a 26.5 usage rate over his last 10 games. Shved also had an assist percentage of 26.5, so there will have to be others on the team to help facilitate the offense. Shane Larkin and Ricky Ledo figure to get most of Shved's playing time. Larkin is the safer bet and a better play in most leagues while Ledo may have more chances to score.
Mar 23 - 5:49 PM

Alexey Shved (ribs) is unlikely to play against the Grizzlies on Monday.

The Knicks are in trouble and are running out of depth. Now it'll likely be Ricky Ledo getting minutes in the rotation and may start after playing eight minutes on Sunday. Shane Larkin replaced Shved on Sunday and may see the biggest increase in production. Plus, Langston Galloway should have the ball more based on Shved's 25.8 usage rate with the Knicks. Shved's owners probably can't play him this week in most cases.

Mar 23 - 3:16 PM

X-rays on Alexey Shved's injured ribs were negative on Sunday, but he's considered questionable for Monday against the Grizzlies.

Shved left Sunday's game without returning, and it's a bad time for him to get hurt considering that he's been rolling for owners who snagged him off the waiver wire. If he sits, Shane Larkin, Ricky Ledo and Langston Galloway are likely to get more playing time with Jose Calderon (Achilles), Tim Hardaway Jr. (wrist) already out.

Alexey Shved suffered a rib contusion during Sunday's game and he will not return.

Shved will end Sunday's game with nine points, two rebounds, two assists and two turnovers. Shane Larkin started the second half in Shved's place, and we'll be monitoring this situation closely. The Knicks play again on Monday vs. the Grizzlies, and we'll be considering Shved questionable for that one. Larkin will get some more playing time, but he doesn't do enough on the stat sheet to matter in most leagues.
