Coach Mike Budenholzer said Kent Bazemore, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Thabo Sefolosha could get some backup hall-handling duties behind Malcolm Delaney on Friday.
With Dennis Schroder suspended, Delaney is the only point guard available for tonight. We've see Bazemore play point guard earlier this season and he was a point guard back when he was in the Warriors system. Additionally, Hardaway Jr. has handled the ball at the point, and he also gets a 6.1 usage rate bump when Schroder is not on the floor -- Bazemore gets a 5.5 bump. THJ should be an attractive DFS play today. Feb 24 - 2:51 PM

Kent Bazemore scored two points with one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block in 17 minutes against the Clippers on Wednesday.

This game was a blowout, and now Baze is cold again. In his last five games, Bazemore averaged 8.8 points, 3.2 boards, 2.4 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 treys on 34.2 percent from the field in 27.4 minutes per game. These are the breaks with Bazemore, he is still adding defensive stats, and he was fairly hot before this dud. He's a hold in 12-team leagues.
Feb 16 - 1:00 AM

Kent Bazemore scored 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting in Friday's loss to the Kings.

That's two solid games in a row for Bazemore after he scored 14 points with three 3-pointers, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 21 minutes on Wednesday. Bazemore recorded three blocks for just the fourth time in his career tonight, adding six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one triple in 33 minutes. He hasn't been consistent at all this season, but he's worth owning for his ability to rack up the money stats (triples, steals and blocks).
Feb 11 - 2:07 AM

Kent Bazemore was back in double-figures on Wednesday with 14 points, three 3-pointers, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 21 minutes.

The low minutes are annoying, but Baze is still averaging a value-saving 2.3 steals and 0.8 triples in February. "Until we move the ball every night like we're supposed to, we're going to get smacked," Bazemore said before the game. "We don't have the luxury of letting one or two guys carry the load every night. It has to be a collective effort." The Hawks had seven players in double-digits tonight, with 31 assists vs. 10 turnovers, so it looks like they got the message.
Feb 9 - 12:14 AM

Kent Bazemore hit 3-of-7 shots for seven points with six assists, three rebounds, two steals and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes in Thursday's 113-108 win over the Rockets.

During the second quarter of the game, Bazemore took his time to get up after taking a hard screen, but after a timeout he returned to the game and appeared to be fine. He hit his first bucket in the third quarter, which sums up his evening. He ended a six-game streak with at least 14 points per game. Bazemore should be owned in standard formats, but will frustrate fantasy owners at times with offensive performances like the one tonight.
Feb 3 - 12:00 AM

Kent Bazemore scored 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting Sunday, to go with nine rebounds, four 3-pointers and one turnover through 50 minutes of floor time.

It’s been a bumpy ride for Bazemore owners this season, but over the past few weeks he appears to finally be headed in the right direction with averages of 15.5 points, 2.0 triples, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.9 turnovers per game on 47.5 percent shooting. If Tim Hardaway Jr. and Thabo Sefolosha ever get traded, that could clear that way for Bazemore to flirt with 30 minutes a night on a more consistent basis.
Jan 29 - 7:08 PM

Kent Bazemore scored 15 points in a 112-86 loss to the Wizards on Friday, adding one assist, one block, one steal and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes.

While the Hawks were absolutely smashed, the silver lining is Bazemore looks to be the player this spent $70 million on this summer. In his last four, he averaged 18.0 points, 2.8 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.3 treys. We might regret saying this in a few days because he's been on a bumpy ride, but Bazemore should be owned in standard leagues.
Jan 28 - 3:15 AM

Kent Bazemore scored 16 points in a 119-114 win over the Bulls on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, one steal and two 3-pointers.

Most importantly, he had a great Baze Gaze after the game (video in link below). Bazemore was driving his fantasy owners crazy earlier this season, but he has finally found his groove. He has ninth-round value in his last 10 games and should be owned right now.
Jan 26 - 1:18 AM

Kent Bazemore hit 9-of-21 shots and three 3-pointers for 25 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33 minutes on Monday.

The 25 points tied his season high and Bazemore has actually hit double digits in scoring in six of his last seven games. His shooting is always suspect and he's still not fully trustworthy, but outside of last Friday's 19-minute, two-point performance in an impressive blowout of the Bulls, Bazemore has been solid. If he's still available in your league, he's worth a flier, as he has been at several other times this season.
Jan 23 - 10:16 PM

Kent Bazemore scored 16 points with two rebounds, two assists, one steal and two 3-pointers during a win over the the 76ers on Saturday.

If fantasy hoops had an all-tease team, Bazemore would probably be on it this season. He had just two points on Friday just after he was showing some promise. Bazemore minutes have been trending up a little, but he's still not around the 28 he was seeing at about the quarter pole of the season with just 24 minutes per game this month. He's worth owning based on last year and how he's been better, but it's been a bumpy ride.
Jan 21 - 11:22 PM

Kent Bazemore scored two points with two rebounds, three assists and one steal in 19 minutes against the Bulls on Friday.

This was all about garbage time for Bazemore, who was actually playing well coming into this game. He's still only clinging to standard-league value in this recent uptick over his last nine, so he's still got some work to do for owners in standard leagues to feel confident in holding him.
Jan 21 - 2:06 AM

Kent Bazemore kept it going during a win over the Knicks on Monday, scoring 16 points with six rebounds, five assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

He didn't shoot the ball well, making just 5-of-13 from the field. Bazemore is playing with more confidence these days and had a big 24-point effort on Sunday. Theoretically, he should have seen a bump in productivity with Kyle Korver gone and it wasn't happening until recently. Maybe now he gets it going, so go ahead and pick him up after his breakout 2015-16 season.
Jan 16 - 4:38 PM

Kent Bazemore scored a team-high 24 points in 28 minutes during Sunday's home win, making 8-of-13 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs with two rebounds, two steals and one assist.

Four of Bazemore's makes came from downtown and this is the first time he's scored 20 points since Nov. 30, so it was a welcome if wholly unexpected outburst. His shot has been awful all season, at a career-low 36.5 percent, and we'll need to see him sustain some efficiency before fully buying in. That said, Bazemore has enough proven upside to be worth a look if you need a swingman.
Jan 15 - 7:53 PM

Kent Bazemore was held to six points on 1-of-7 shooting in Tuesday's win over the Nets with three boards and two steals in 22 minutes.

His only field goal of the night was a wide-open layup in the fourth quarter. Bazemore is in a brutal slump right now with a combined 14 points on 23.5 percent shooting over his last three games. We can't defend his awful play anymore and he looks like a drop candidate in standard leagues. Also, Taurean Prince and Tim Hardaway Jr. are coming for his minutes. We'll let you know when Bazemore heats back up.
Jan 10 - 10:22 PM

Kent Bazemore scored just two points in 21 minutes against the Pelicans on Thursday, adding three rebounds and one assist.

Yuck. The Hawks are going to be selling off all sorts of assets, but they just signed Bazemore to a deal this past summer. As bad as he's been -- he's been really bad -- Bazemore should be owned in all leagues because he should become a huge part of the offense later this season.
