Kent Bazemore returned from a day of rest on Friday vs. the Pacers, scoring 12 points with five rebounds, two assists and a block in 28 minutes.
Bazemore was rested on the second night of a back-to-back before the All-Star break, and maybe that continues with the Hawks playing for lottery balls. For what it's worth, the Hawks have two more back-to-back sets the rest of the way. Bazemore is worth holding onto for now, but things could get messy later in the season. Feb 23 - 10:24 PM

Kent Bazemore is not on the injury report for Friday against the Pacers.

The Hawks are expected to play their veterans in the second half, but there's a very good chance that plan changes. Bazemore did not play on Feb. 14 due to rest, so he's likely got a couple more of those coming the rest of the way. He's still worth owning in standard leagues.
Feb 22 - 5:06 PM

Kent Bazemore (rest) will not play Wednesday vs. Detroit.

Dennis Schroder (back) and Ersan Ilyasova (shoulder) have also been ruled out of Wednesday night's game, leaving the Hawks thin at guard and on the wing. Taurean Prince, DeAndre Bembry and Tyler Dorsey should all see a significant increase in playing time. Dorsey may draw the start in place of Bazemore.
Feb 14 - 1:20 PM

Kent Bazemore hit 6-of-15 shots and four 3-pointers for 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and a block in 29 minutes of Tuesday's loss to the Bucks.

Bazemore had a six-point dud last Thursday but has played well in each of his last three games, scoring in double figures in each of them and averaging 3.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 0.7 steals and 3.0 3-pointers. He's not shooting it very well (11-of-32), but the counting stats are adding up.
Feb 13 - 10:40 PM

Kent Bazemore scored six points with four rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks and four turnovers in 24 minutes against the Magic on Thursday.

He did not close this game, which may have been due to one of his patented duds. It's certainly possible the Hawks do dial back his minutes going forward, but Bazemore should still get run in the mid 20s. He's still a hold in 10-team leagues.
Feb 8 - 9:27 PM

Kent Bazemore scored 25 points with two rebounds, two assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes against the Hornets during a 123-110 loss.

He did get some point-guard run because of Dennis Schroder dealing with a shoulder injury. Bazemore has easily been the best player on the Hawks, and it'll be interesting to see how the Hawks view him as a future piece. It's certainly possible he's dealt, but his owners shouldn't be selling him at a discount because of it. He looks like a must-start player the rest of the way.
Jan 31 - 11:37 PM

Kent Bazemore hit 8-of-14 shots and four 3-pointers for 22 points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal and two blocks in 30 minutes of Monday's 105-100 win over the Wolves.

Baze had a tremendous chase-down block on Jeff Teague in the first half that changed the momentum of the game and contributed in a big way as the Hawks got their 15th win. He was awful in Saturday's loss to the Wizards when he hit 1-of-9 shots in 18 minutes, but played well on Friday with 26 points and another full stat line. He'll look to keep it going on Wednesday night against Nicolas Batum and the Hornets.
Jan 29 - 10:25 PM

Kent Bazemore finished with just three points over 18 minutes in Saturday's 129-104 loss against the visiting Wizards.

Bazemore hit just 1-of-9 from the field, including 0-of-5 from behind the 3-point line, and he was even just 1-of-2 from the free-throw stripe. He tied a season low with the three points, just one day after turning in a season-high 26 points in Charlotte. He has been a bit erratic lately, but he should give fantasy owners mid-round production down the stretch. He won't be this bad very frequently.
Jan 27 - 11:05 PM

Kent Bazemore scored a season-high 26 points with two rebounds, four assists, two blocks, one steal and four 3-pointers in 31 minutes during a 121-101 loss to the Hornets on Friday.

He almost singlehandedly brought the Hawks back with 23 points coming in the second half. Even before this game, Bazemore has been in a fairly decent offensive groove this month at 44.2 percent from the field in his previous January games, averaging 13.5 points, 2.8 boards, 2.5 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.6 treys and 0.7 blocks. His owners should have fairly high expectations going forward as a mid-round guy.
Jan 26 - 9:52 PM

Kent Bazemore picked up 13 points on 5-of-11 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs on Wednesday, with three rebounds, three assists and one block in 27 minutes.

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer mentioned Kent Bazemore’s defense on DeMar DeRozan as one of the only bright spots for Atlanta tonight, so that's something. We haven't heard any trade talk surrounding him lately, but Adrian Wojnarowski did report that the Hawks view him as "expendable." It's a situation to monitor as the Feb. 8 trade deadline approaches.
Jan 24 - 11:57 PM

Kent Bazemore hit a game-winning jumper vs. New Orleans on Wednesday, finishing 9-of-18 from the field for 20 points, five assists, two rebounds and one steal.

Bazemore added one 3-pointer in 28 minutes of action tonight, and continues to be an unheralded fantasy value, especially in category-based leagues. Adrian Wojnarowski reported earlier this month that Bazemore is viewed as "expendable" for the rebuilding Hawks, but fantasy owners should be hoping he stays put through the deadline.
Jan 17 - 11:35 PM

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Kent Bazemore, Ersan Ilyasova and Marco Belinelli are all "expendable."

With the Hawks rebuilding, they are "pushing" to unload veterans in exchange for draft picks and young assets. Bazemore is owed $18.1 million in 2018-19 with a player option worth $18.1 million in 2019-20, but the Hawks may be able to find a home for him with so many teams in need of wing depth. A move would likely be a bad thing for Bazemore, as he doesn't have much competition in Atlanta and is having a career year with 12.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.8 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.6 triples.

Jan 8 - 12:42 PM

Kent Bazemore scored 15 points vs. the Lakers on Sunday, going 6-of-15 from the field with three 3-pointers, three assists, two blocks and one rebound.

Bazemore racked up 12 points during a third-quarter flurry, and his relatively low 26 minutes tonight were the result of the score -- he sat out the final 4:53 of a blowout loss. The good news is that his defense basically guarantees his role is safe going forward. During a halftime interview, assistant coach Charles Lee said the Hawks' issues stemmed from players simply not running back on transition defense, which is something Bazemore can't be accused of often, if ever.
Jan 8 - 1:28 AM

Kent Bazemore hit 7-of-8 shots, 4-of-5 3-pointers and both of his free throws to finish with 20 points, three rebounds, four assists and four steals in 29 minutes of Tuesday's 104-013 loss to the Suns.

Unfortunately, he also fouled Devin Booker shooting a 3-pointer (he got all ball from behind, but also smashed the back of Booker's head), which helped hand the Suns the win, as Booker's three free throws put them up by one point with 12.3 seconds left in the game. Baze was great other than that and his 20 points were his highest since posting the same number way back on Dec. 12. Bazemore will look to keep it going on Friday against the Blazers, but the Hawks are stinging after blowing a 12-point lead with five minutes left in the game.
Jan 2 - 11:44 PM

Kent Bazemore started at point guard against the Thunder on Friday, making 4-of-6 from the field for 11 points with three rebounds, six assists, three steals, five turnovers and one 3-pointer.

Outside of the turnovers, that'll work. Bazemore had a tough matchup against Russell Westbrook and he did run the offense a good amount in this game. Dennis Schroder (ankle) was close to suiting up, so Bazemore could move back to his usual role on the wing. It's been a favorable role for him this season and Bazemore has been an early-round player over his last 10. He's a must-start option right now.
