Kent Bazemore (knee) will not play against the Nets on Sunday.
He was expected to miss 7-10 days, so he was not expected to play since that prognosis back on Mar. 19. With Bazemore out at least one more, Tim Hardaway Jr. should see all the run he can handle while Thabo Sefolosha, Mike Dunleavy and Taurean Prince pick up the scraps on the wing. Bazemore should be dropped in most leagues. Prince has the most value of that bunch and gets a great matchup on Sunday. Mar 25 - 5:06 PM

Kent Bazemore has a right knee bone bruise and will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.

He suffered the injury on Saturday night and did not return. Bazemore had an MRI to confirm the diagnosis and the Hawks will now have to move on to start this week without 40 percent of their starting lineup -- Paul Millsap (knee) is out for two games. With those two out, Ersan Ilyasova will be firing away from three, Tim Hardaway Jr. will get big minutes, Taurean Prince should play more than 20 minutes, the Hawks will likely use Malcolm Delaney at the two and maybe even DeAndre Bembry gets in the mix again.
Mar 19 - 4:34 PM

Kent Bazemore suffered a right knee contusion in the fourth quarter on Saturday.

He drove to the basket and his had some contact on the drive, but he was walking around fine. He did not return because the game was basically over after his injury. Bazemore did not go to the locker room right away and had the trainer look at him on the bench. Bazemore finished with 12 points, two assists and one block in 32 minutes. This injury didn't look serious.
Mar 18 - 8:23 PM

Kent Bazemore had 18 points, two 3-pointers and a block on 6-of-15 shooting in 29 minutes of Monday's 119-111 loss to the Warriors.

Unfortunately, he also had just one rebound, zero assists and zero steals, but the 18 points were a far cry better than his two-point game on 1-of-7 shooting against the Pacers on Sunday. Bazemore's been a bit all over the map this season but he's also scored between 14 and 18 points in three of his last four games. He's still worth owning in most 12-man leagues, despite the constant inconsistency.
Mar 6 - 10:12 PM

Kent Bazemore went 1-of-7 from the field during Sunday's loss to the Pacers, ending his evening with just two points, three boards, one steal, one assist and two turnovers to his credit.

Bazemore had been playing well since coming out of the break, so this was an unfortunate step back in the wrong direction. Consistency has been a major issue for him this year, so it’ll be interesting to see what he can do with another tough matchup against the Dubs on Monday.
Mar 5 - 5:24 PM

Kent Bazemore stole the ball with 10 seconds left to help seal the Hawks' win on Wednesday, finishing with 15 points, three 3-pointers, two assists and one rebound.

Baze played 30 minutes tonight, which marks a high for his past five games. Mike Dunleavy (ankle) was out again, which has opened up a few extra wing minutes, but most of those are going to rookie Taurean Prince. He's not filling it up like we've seen in the past, but Bazemore is still a borderline guy in standard leagues.
Mar 1 - 11:21 PM

Kent Bazemore hit 7-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for 15 points, four rebounds, a steal and a block in 26 minutes of Monday's 114-98 win over the Celtics.

Bazemore's scoring line is all over the map in February, as he's hit double figures just five times, while scoring in single digits in his other six games. The 15 points were the most he's scored since he had 24 points on Jan. 29, and with Thabo Sefolosha back from his groin injury, as well as Tim Hardaway getting a lot of usage right now, Bazemore's inconsistency will probably continue until further notice. Nonetheless, he's generally worth owning in 12-team leagues.
Feb 27 - 10:55 PM

Coach Mike Budenholzer said Kent Bazemore, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Thabo Sefolosha could get some backup hall-handling duties behind Malcolm Delaney on Friday.

With Dennis Schroder suspended, Delaney is the only point guard available for tonight. We've see Bazemore play point guard earlier this season and he was a point guard back when he was in the Warriors system. Additionally, Hardaway Jr. has handled the ball at the point, and he also gets a 6.1 usage rate bump when Schroder is not on the floor -- Bazemore gets a 5.5 bump. THJ should be an attractive DFS play today.
Feb 24 - 2:51 PM

Kent Bazemore scored two points with one rebound, one assist, one steal and one block in 17 minutes against the Clippers on Wednesday.

This game was a blowout, and now Baze is cold again. In his last five games, Bazemore averaged 8.8 points, 3.2 boards, 2.4 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 treys on 34.2 percent from the field in 27.4 minutes per game. These are the breaks with Bazemore, he is still adding defensive stats, and he was fairly hot before this dud. He's a hold in 12-team leagues.
Feb 16 - 1:00 AM

Kent Bazemore scored 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting in Friday's loss to the Kings.

That's two solid games in a row for Bazemore after he scored 14 points with three 3-pointers, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 21 minutes on Wednesday. Bazemore recorded three blocks for just the fourth time in his career tonight, adding six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one triple in 33 minutes. He hasn't been consistent at all this season, but he's worth owning for his ability to rack up the money stats (triples, steals and blocks).
Feb 11 - 2:07 AM

Kent Bazemore was back in double-figures on Wednesday with 14 points, three 3-pointers, two rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 21 minutes.

The low minutes are annoying, but Baze is still averaging a value-saving 2.3 steals and 0.8 triples in February. "Until we move the ball every night like we're supposed to, we're going to get smacked," Bazemore said before the game. "We don't have the luxury of letting one or two guys carry the load every night. It has to be a collective effort." The Hawks had seven players in double-digits tonight, with 31 assists vs. 10 turnovers, so it looks like they got the message.
Feb 9 - 12:14 AM

Kent Bazemore hit 3-of-7 shots for seven points with six assists, three rebounds, two steals and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes in Thursday's 113-108 win over the Rockets.

During the second quarter of the game, Bazemore took his time to get up after taking a hard screen, but after a timeout he returned to the game and appeared to be fine. He hit his first bucket in the third quarter, which sums up his evening. He ended a six-game streak with at least 14 points per game. Bazemore should be owned in standard formats, but will frustrate fantasy owners at times with offensive performances like the one tonight.
Feb 3 - 12:00 AM

Kent Bazemore scored 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting Sunday, to go with nine rebounds, four 3-pointers and one turnover through 50 minutes of floor time.

It’s been a bumpy ride for Bazemore owners this season, but over the past few weeks he appears to finally be headed in the right direction with averages of 15.5 points, 2.0 triples, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.9 turnovers per game on 47.5 percent shooting. If Tim Hardaway Jr. and Thabo Sefolosha ever get traded, that could clear that way for Bazemore to flirt with 30 minutes a night on a more consistent basis.
Jan 29 - 7:08 PM

Kent Bazemore scored 15 points in a 112-86 loss to the Wizards on Friday, adding one assist, one block, one steal and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes.

While the Hawks were absolutely smashed, the silver lining is Bazemore looks to be the player this spent $70 million on this summer. In his last four, he averaged 18.0 points, 2.8 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks and 2.3 treys. We might regret saying this in a few days because he's been on a bumpy ride, but Bazemore should be owned in standard leagues.
Jan 28 - 3:15 AM

Kent Bazemore scored 16 points in a 119-114 win over the Bulls on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, one steal and two 3-pointers.

Most importantly, he had a great Baze Gaze after the game (video in link below). Bazemore was driving his fantasy owners crazy earlier this season, but he has finally found his groove. He has ninth-round value in his last 10 games and should be owned right now.
