Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer has been impressed by DeQuan Jones.
"He brings a physicality and an athleticism too," Budenholzer said. "In open gym, he did a few things that were impressive. His attitude and his approach have been great. And he is somebody who has played NBA games. … It’s nice to have those guys in camp that are a little bit knowledgeable." Jones is an athletic wing with prior NBA experience (Magic), but he is currently competing with Lamar Patterson, Terran Petteway, Earl Barron, Edgar Sosa and Arsalan Kazemi for the last roster spot. Even if Jones makes the team, he likely won't be in the rotation. Oct 3 - 10:53 AM

DeQuan Jones has agreed to join the Atlanta Hawks for training camp.

Jones averaged 3.7 points on 43.6 percent shooting with the Magic in 2012-13, but he spent last season playing in Italy. Thabo Sefolosha's leg injury could open up a few early-season minutes at SF but there are no guarantees that Jones will make the Hawks' final roster.

The Kings have reportedly invited former Magic forward DeQuan Jones to training camp, according to Mark Deeks.

Jones got some starts in Orlando a few years ago but never made much noise. It would be surprising to see him on the Kings' roster on opening night, as his deal is not guaranteed.

DeQuan Jones will not receive a qualifying offer from the Magic and will become an unrestricted free agent.

He never really had a chance with the Magic selecting Victor Oladipo at two. Jones saw 17 starts last season, but played just 12.7 minutes per game in his rookie campaign. He'll play in summer league with the Magic and could catch on with another team or the Magic could even re-sign him.

DeQuan Jones played 36 minutes on Friday, scoring 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting with two rebounds, a block and a three.

Jones has never really been productive with or without minutes, but he could see some extra time if Moe Harkless' knee issue causes him to miss games. Unless you're in a deeper league, there's not a whole lot to see.

DeQuan Jones started at shooting guard for the Magic on Wednesday and had 13 points, two rebounds, two assists, a steal and two blocks on 6-of-9 shooting.

So much for Beno Udrih and E'Twaun Moore, eh? Udrih played just 18 minutes for nine points, five assists and a 3-pointer, while Moore got 12 minutes for three points and two assists. The Magic are more interested in taking a look at the guys who don't get much playing time than anything else, and it's possible Jones gets some nice burn to finish up the season. But if you own Udrih or Moore, this looks like a bad timeshare at best, meaning it might be time to move on.

DeQuan Jones will start at shooting guard against the Bobcats on Wednesday, according to Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel.

The last time we blurbed about Jones was Feb. 6, which tells you his relevancy this season. Jones replaces E'Twaun Moore, who had been in and out of the starting lineup this season at shooting guard and point guard. According to Fox Sports Florida, it will be the Magic's 24th different starting lineup this season. With the playoffs very far out of reach, the Magic are trying to assess their young talent before the end of the season and Jones' spot start seems to fit that M.O. He could have value in deeper leagues if he sticks in the starting lineup but we're skeptical for the time being.

DeQuan Jones (foot, ankle) was listed as active Wednesday against the Clippers.

Jones participated in pregame warmups, but it remains to be seen how much he will play, if at all. He still doesn't have much value for fantasy owners when healthy.

DeQuan Jones (foot, ankle) has shed his walking boot and is a game-time decision on Wednesday after participating in shootaround.

Jones has progressed to shooting baskets, but there is nothing definitive on his status for Wednesday.

Updating a previous report, DeQuan Jones (sore foot) will not play on Monday.

This won't impact fantasy leagues but it's still an unfortunate turn of events, as Jones played 19 minutes on Saturday and could have been a substantial contributor with so many guys injured for the Magic.
Mon, Feb 4, 2013 03:05:00 PM

DeQuan Jones is unlikely to play on Monday due to a foot injury.

Jones isn't even a fantasy option in the deepest of formats right now.
Mon, Feb 4, 2013 12:17:00 PM

DeQuan Jones had season highs with 11 points and 26 minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday, adding five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

He shot 5-of-7 from the field and his 2013 has been eye-catching, shooting 56 percent from the field. Jones is on the upswing in deeper leagues, but standard owners shouldn't pay much attention to him just yet.

DeQuan Jones started on Sunday and had seven points, five rebounds and one 3-pointer in the loss to Toronto.

Jones was coming off a groin injury and got the start with J.J. Redick out with the flu. Jones does not have fantasy value in the vast majority of leagues.
Sun, Nov 18, 2012 07:02:00 PM

DeQuan Jones will not play on Tuesday, as Magic officials don't want to aggravate his strained groin.

With Hedo Turkoglu (broken hand) sidelined, Jones is missing out on a major opportunity to earn extra minutes. The good news is fellow rookie Moe Harkless has failed to take advantage of added playing time thus far, and Jones could still have a chance to impress when he's healthy. He's worth keeping an eye on in deep leagues.

DeQuan Jones (strained groin) will not play on Sunday.

Jones originally hurt himself in the final game of Orlando's preseason, and he may need to sit out a few more games to finally put the injury behind him. Keep an eye on backup SF Mo Harkless, who is averaging 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks through two games.
