Willie Reed again expressed that he's been working on polishing his offensive game this summer.
" I’m working on the offensive part of my game: post moves, reading the defense, catching the ball off of the pick-and-roll and being able to avoid traffic," he said. Reed is really embracing his new chance in Miami, and he could be the next Heat prospect to watch on a team that has developed some solid NBA players seemingly out of nowhere over the last few years. However, as long as Hassan Whiteside is healthy, Reed is very unlikely to be a fantasy factor. Sep 3 - 4:49 PM

Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed said that he will spend time this summer honing his skills on the offensive end.

"Obviously my defense is ahead of my offense at this point," said Reed. "So I’ve been working extremely hard to make sure I get better on the offensive end." Reed could be looking at some increased opportunity next season if Chris Bosh (blood clots) is forced into an early retirement, but if Bosh and Hassan Whiteside are healthy, Reed will be an irrelevant name in fantasy hoops.

Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Heat sign F/C Willie Reed to a two-year contract.

The deal is fully guaranteed and carries a player option for the second season. Expected to serve as Hassan Whiteside's primary backup, there isn't much to get excited about regarding Reed's fantasy potential unless Whiteside were to miss an extended period of time. It is worth noting that Reed averaged 15.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per 36 minutes in Brooklyn, but he's not going to get an open showcase in Miami.

Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

The Heat and free agent Willie Reed have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal.

The second year is a player option. The Pacers, Wolves and Warriors had also been linked to Reed, but he opted for a Heat team that's still rebuilding its frontcourt depth. Reed should compete with Udonis Haslem as the primary backup for Hassan Whiteside at center, though Miami could add more big men prior to training camp.

Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

There is mutual interest between the Warriors and Willie Reed, according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.

Reed only averaged 4.7 points and 3.1 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game last season and wouldn't serve as much more than a bench option for the Warriors. We'll keep an eye on this situation, but there isn't much from a fantasy standpoint here.

Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

The Pacers and Wolves have both expressed an interest in free agent center Willie Reed.

The Spurs are also said to be interested, so it sounds like he has a decent chance of landing another NBA contract after the Nets declined to extend him a qualifying offer. Reed averaged 4.7 points, 3.1 boards and 0.8 blocks in 10.9 minutes per game last season.

Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

The Nets will not give Willie Reed a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Reed missed the end of the 2015-16 season for undisclosed personal reasons, which might have factored into the Nets' decision, but either way he was unlikely to earn many minutes with Brook Lopez healthy. Reed shot 57.1 percent from the field in his 39 games played as a rookie, and has enough upside to warrant a look from another NBA franchise.

Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed (personal) will not play again for Brooklyn this season.

Reed is stepping away from a ton of opportunity with Brook Lopez (rest) and Thaddeus Young (rest) done for the year, and it's currently unclear exactly what's going on with his personal life. We wish him the best, but with Reed unavailable, Thomas Robinson, Chris McCullough and Henry Sims figure to log heavy minutes for the Nets, with Robinson offering the most upside out of the group.
Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed will be placed on the inactive list for Thursday's game against the Cavs.

He wouldn't be a major part of the rotation anyway with Brook Lopez active. Leave Reed on the wire.
Mar 24 - 5:55 PM
Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed will return to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Hornets, with Brook Lopez (illness) back in the starting lineup.

Reed may fall out of the rotation entirely with Lopez active, so he can safely be left on the wire in all formats.
Mar 22 - 6:48 PM
Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed scored 13 points with six rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes during a start against the Pistons on Saturday.

He picked up a lot of run after missing two games due to knee soreness. Brook Lopez did go through warmups before he was ruled out, so chances are Lopez should be ready for Tuesday. Leave Reed on the wire in most leagues.
Mar 19 - 10:04 PM
Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed will start against the Pistons on Saturday.

He did not play on Tuesday due to his sore knee, so he might be limited. Thomas Robinson should also get a nice bump in playing tonight tonight in a favorable matchup.
Mar 19 - 7:06 PM
Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed (sore knee) will not play on Tuesday against the 76ers.

It's a new injury for Reed. He's not in the rotation every night, so there aren't many fantasy implications here.
Mar 14 - 5:12 PM
Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed will come off the bench on Tuesday vs. the Raptors.

Thaddeus Young and Brook Lopez will be back after missing the last game for rest purposes, so Reed may only see limited minutes off the bench tonight. It's possible that Reed could get some minutes down the stretch if the Nets rest their veterans some more, but he's only on the radar in deep leagues for now. He scored a career-high 14 points with eight rebounds, three assists and four blocks in 32 minutes against the Wolves on Saturday.
Mar 8 - 7:04 PM
Willie Reed - F/C - Heat

Willie Reed scored a career-high 14 points with eight rebounds, three assists and four blocks in 32 minutes against the Wolves on Saturday

He's showed some flashes this year and he put up a very encouraging game in his first real chance at minutes. The Nets did rest Brook Lopez tonight, so just keep this line in mind the next time Bro-Lo sits.
