Trey Burke scored 19 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 8-of-17 shots (including two threes) with six rebounds, three assists and one steal in 24 minutes.
As long as Burke is hitting his shots he's going to hold value while Derrick Favors (back) is out, because the Jazz need folks that can score the ball and that's what Burke does. Mar 31 - 1:58 AM

Trey Burke scored 22 points in a win over the Thunder on Saturday, adding six boards, four assists, four steals and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes.

He got some extra touches on offense with Derrick Favors (back) in street clothes, and the Jazz also opted to stick with him down the stretch over rookie Dante Exum. Burke did shoot just 8-of-23 from the field and 1-of-8 from deep, but his owners won't be complaining with this line. Over his last five games Burke has averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 assists, 3.0 boards, 2.2 steals and 1.6 3-pointers in over 33 minutes per game, and he belongs on most fantasy rosters as long he stays hot.
Mar 29 - 12:05 AM

Trey Burke hit just 3-of-12 shots in Friday's loss, finishing with six points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 28 minutes.

Dante Exum (12 minutes) did not play in the second half due to an illness, and for Burke's part he did not hit a three and that's part of the allure here since he's going to hurt your field goal percentage and/or disappear. Burke has been a late-round value lately largely because he has averaged 17.3 shots in his last four games, including two without Gordon Hayward. Derrick Favors' back injury might keep that number up and he's worth a look if you can live with his blemishes.
Mar 28 - 2:40 AM

Trey Burke started at shooting guard and hit 9-of-19 shots for 22 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 39 minutes.

Gordon Hayward (shoulder) and Rodney Hood (illness) were both out, so Burke (and Elijah Millsap) got the call to start. This was a nice game for Burke, but the lack of threes leaves it a feeling a bit empty. If he continues to start going forward, using him right now makes sense.
Mar 26 - 2:37 AM

Trey Burke and Elijah Millsap are starting on Wednesday vs. the Blazers in place of Gordon Hayward (shoulder) and Rodney Hood (illness).

The Jazz are going to heavily rely on Burke to generate a lot of offense, so he should be able to put together a nice line tonight. On the other hand, Millsap should also get plenty of run as well as Joe Ingles, but their value is strictly limited to deeper leagues for now.
Mar 25 - 7:35 PM

Trey Burke had a game to forget in Monday's overtime loss to the Wolves, hitting just 4-of-22 shots (2-of-13 3PTs, 6-of-6 FTs) for 16 points, one rebound, six assists, four steals and five turnovers in 38 minutes.

Burke's stat line had some saving graces but his overall play and his play with time expiring was ugly -- and the field goal percentage is obviously killer. Owners taking a chance on him are looking for some points, threes, assists and a low trickle of steals, with plenty of risk on a night-to-night basis.
Mar 24 - 12:27 AM

Trey Burke had another great game on Saturday vs. the Warriors, finishing with 20 point and five assists in 29 minutes off the bench.

It was the most minutes he had played since Mar. 6 vs. the 76ers, while rookie Dante Exum played just 18 minutes and was held scoreless, though it should be noted that he had to go up against Stephen Curry all night. Burke has now scored 14 or more points in each of his last three games, but it's hard to get behind an add as long as he continues to come off the bench. The Jazz seem committed to developing Exum for the future, meaning Burke's value should be held in check for the rest of the season.
Mar 22 - 1:25 AM

Trey Burke had another good night against the Lakers on Thursday with 17 points, two rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.

He scored 14 points on Wednesday and finally turned it around after hitting rock bottom over the weekend. Dante Exum is struggling on offense in a big way, but the Jazz don't need his production on offense now to begin with. Unless you're punting field goal percentage, there's no need to be too aggressive in picking up Burke.
Mar 20 - 1:22 AM

Trey Burke played just 17 minutes on Saturday vs. the Pistons, though he did hit a key layup late in the game to help seal the win for the Jazz.

He finished with nine points, one assist and one 3-pointer, while rookie Dante Exum played 32 minutes and scored eight points with five assists, two boards and two 3-pointers. The Jazz seem committed to developing Exum and really love his defense, so it's tough to envision Burke getting more minutes as the season progresses. As of right now, Burke's value is limited to deeper leagues.
Mar 15 - 12:43 AM

Trey Burke missed all eight shots from the field and didn't get to the line against the Rockets on Thursday, adding two rebounds, three assists and two turnovers.

Ouch. He only scored five points on Tuesday and he just hasn't made any strides besides one hot stretch at the end of January. Burke isn't even in the top 200 for fantasy value since the break and he shouldn't be owned in standard leagues. Plus, his playing time is trending down for owners in points leagues.
Mar 13 - 1:25 AM

Trey Burke started Tuesday's game in place of Gordon Hayward (back), but he shot just 1-of-11 from the field to finish with five points, five rebounds, two assists and two turnovers.

Burke also went 3-of-6 from the FT line and this is as poor a performance as one could imagine given his expanded role with Hayward out of commission. He hasn't been a standard-league asset for months and this should chasten any owners who thought about grabbing him with Hayward iffy to return on Thursday.
Mar 11 - 12:22 AM

Trey Burke will draw the start vs. the Knicks on Tuesday in place of Gordon Hayward (back).

Burke has had a really disappointing season and the Jazz seem committed to developing rookie Dante Exum, but he has an excellent chance to produce vs. the lowly Knicks. Burke will head back to the bench when Hayward (back) returns from injury, so there is no need for owners in shallow formats to overreact to this news. Give Burke an extensive look in daily leagues tonight.
Mar 10 - 8:14 PM

Trey Burke had another poor outing against the 76ers on Friday with 10 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, one 3-pointer and two blocks.

He doesn't get steals too often, his dimes are down and his March is not going well. In those three games, Burke averaged 10.0 points, 3.0 boards, 4.0 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.3 treys on 30.0 percent from the field. He hasn't been in the top 200 in the past month and isn't in the top 150 on the season. After a nice little run as the sixth man back in January, Burke has regressed back to being a questionable player to own at best.
Mar 6 - 11:52 PM

Trey Burke had 16 points, six boards, and eight assists on 7-of-17 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics.

Burke hit just 2-of-11 shots for a disappointing fantasy game on Tuesday, but bounced back on Wednesday, and did what he does.
Mar 4 - 10:46 PM

Trey Burke hit just 2-of-11 shots against the Grizzlies on Tuesday, finishing with four points and three assists in 22 minutes.

Burke had recently started to pick things up with a 23-point, six-assist performance vs. the Bucks on Saturday, but this just goes to show how inconsistent he can be on a nightly basis. The 22 minutes were the lowest he has played since Feb. 9, but his owners can expect him to bounce back against the Celtics on Wednesday. Dante Exum continues to start and scored three points with seven assists, three boards, one steal and two blocks in 27 minutes Tuesday, but Burke is still the PG to own in Utah moving forward.
