Trey Burke was terrific off the bench against the Nets on Saturday, scoring 19 points with two rebounds, three assists, one steal, four 3-pointers and no turnovers on 7-of-13 from the field.
He's certainly embraced his sixth-man role and played 26 minutes. The most important thing is minutes for a player's stat output and the early indication is Burke's efficiency and usage have gone up. His body of work suggests he's not going to be this good, but feel free to give him a look to see if he can kept going. Jan 25 - 12:28 AM

Trey Burke was bumped to the bench against the Bucks on Thursday, playing 24 minutes for 10 points with two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers.

Meanwhile, Dante Exum played the game of his life on offense. Burke may have been moved to the bench to help out the second unit with Derrick Favors out, but there's a chance that he stays there. Burke was hot to start 2015, but he's cooled off and has only been a late-round guy in the past two weeks. He's not someone fantasy owners should have confidence in right now and is not a must-own player in standard formats.
Jan 23 - 12:38 AM

Trey Burke will shift to the bench for Thursday's game against the Bucks, and rookie Dante Exum will replace him in the starting lineup.

Burke's owners shouldn't panic just yet, as there is no indication that this will be a permanent move. We will continue to follow this story closely, and we will let you know how he fares after the game.
Jan 22 - 6:55 PM

Trey Burke was invisible on Wednesday, hitting just 1-of-10 shots and finishing with two points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 19 minutes.

This wasn't Burke's night and there are no reports of an injury. He'll bounce back soon and this was likely just an off-night against Kyrie Irving.
Jan 21 - 10:38 PM

Trey Burke hit four treys in Friday's win over the Lakers, hitting 7-of-19 shots for 20 points, three rebounds, four assists and one steal.

Burke is going to have a late-round floor and a hint of upside beyond that now that Alec Burks is out of the picture.
Jan 17 - 2:14 AM

Trey Burke scored 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds, five assists and two steals in Friday's loss.

Burke has been a top-20 this past week in the small three-game sample size, but he's certainly a must-own player and if he keeps it up he'll be a must-start player pretty soon.
Jan 10 - 1:42 AM

Trey Burke was the best point guard on the floor against the Bulls during a 97-77 win on Wednesday, scoring 17 points with three rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers.

That's two solid games in a row following a 2-of-19 from the field to start 2015. December was not kind to Burke, making just 37.1 percent from the field while not doing much else on the stat sheet. He's still more of a bench guy in standard leagues with a fairly low ceiling. He's better in points formats, though.
Jan 7 - 11:22 PM

Trey Burke will start against the Bulls on Wednesday.

There was never a doubt. Dante Exum will move back to a bench after not registering any boards, assists, steals, blocks or turnovers in his first start on Monday. Start Burke like you normally would.
Jan 7 - 7:31 PM

Trey Burke (illness) will play on Wednesday against the Bulls.

His return is likely going to send either Dante Exum or Joe Ingles to the bench, so we will provide those details as soon as they emerge. Burke was on fire prior to coming down with strep throat, so his owners will want to make sure to get him in their lineups.
Jan 7 - 12:52 PM

Trey Burke (illness) is being listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.

Burke's return to the lineup would send either Joe Ingles or Dante Exum back to the bench. Burke's minutes have spiked since Alec Burks (shoulder) was ruled out for the season, and he'll continue to be a quality option in daily leagues as one of Utah's primary ball handlers and go-to scorers. Check back for an official update on Burke's status closer to Wednesday's tip.
Jan 6 - 6:13 PM

Trey Burke (illness) will not play against the Pacers on Monday.

He has strep throat and the Jazz are probably wise to rule him out to prevent his teammates from getting sick. That means we will get the first Dante Exum start of the year and he should get a lot of minutes. Also, Gordon Hayward is going to handle the ball a ton while Joe Ingles will have to play more because all of Exum's minutes will come at the point.
Jan 5 - 7:13 PM

Trey Burke (illness) did not participate in shootaround, and he's now considered questionable for Monday against the Pacers.

Burke's illness comes out of nowhere, and owners will have to wait for an update to see if he can give it a go. If Burke is forced out, rookie Dante Exum is likely to draw the start at point guard, but he wouldn't come as a recommended daily play. Burke's coming off two games of 25-plus points over his last three contests.
Jan 5 - 1:20 PM

Trey Burke made 10-of-16 from the field for 28 points against the Wolves on Saturday during a 101-89 win, adding six rebounds, six assists, one steal and four 3-pointers.

He was rolling and matched his best effective field goal percentage of the season tonight. Burke made just 2-of-19 from the field on Friday and the favorable matchup helped him a lot. He's not going to have too high of a ceiling due to poor shooting and low steals, though.
Jan 3 - 10:44 PM

Trey Burke hit just 2-of-19 shots in the Jazz's 98-92 loss to the Hawks on Friday, finishing with eight points, three rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block.

Burke missed all 11 of his 3-point attempts and despite this nightmare shooting night he's poised to be a must-own player with Alec Burks out for the year. The fact that the Jazz are super banged up doesn't hurt either, so look for him to bounce back on Saturday against the Wolves.
Jan 3 - 2:58 AM

Trey Burke scored a season-high 26 points on 10-of-21 shooting during Tuesday's home win, making three 3-pointers with four rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes.

Utah received some dreadful news earlier in the day, as Alec Burks' season will end due to shoulder surgery, and Burke is one of the guys who must step up in his absence. His 36.1 percent shooting has prevented him from holding reliable 12-team value, but he's worth a speculative add if he's floating on your waiver wire.
