Trey Burke scored 10 points with one rebound, two assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in just 18 minutes on Wednesday against the Raptors.
It took a while, but Burke is starting to trend down. He's failed to top 23 minutes in any of his previous three games now that the Jazz are getting healthy again. Burke is still hanging on to ninth-round value on the year, but the downward trend makes him a possible cut candidate if it's for a hot free agent. Nov 19 - 12:24 AM

Trey Burke made 7-of-12 from the field for 16 points against the Magic on Friday, adding one rebound, four assists and one 3-pointer.

He bounced back nicely from a bad game on Thursday. Burke played on the ball a little more tonight and credit to him for getting five shots at the rim. Burke was so bad in the previous two seasons that we can't quite say this solid start is for real, but he's hanging around the top 100 after tonight and is a hold.
Nov 13 - 9:24 PM

Trey Burke made 3-of-9 from the field for six points in 27 minutes against the Heat on Thursday, adding three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

The Jazz just keep putting Alec Burks on the ball and it's basically made Burke a shooting guard in the offense. While he's off to a very nice start this season, he'll likely start trending down soon. That said, this is really his first "bad" game since the opener and he had a 25.2 usage rate before tonight, so don't make a hasty cut or anything just yet.
Nov 12 - 10:10 PM

Trey Burke came off the bench to hit 6-of-11 shots and two 3-pointers for 16 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal in 24 minutes on Tuesday.

He's now hit double figures in scoring in six straight games and is averaging 16.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.4 3-pointers while shooting 49 percent over his last five. Like his teammate Alec Burks, Trey is worth owning in all leagues right now, despite coming off the bench.
Nov 10 - 10:20 PM

Trey Burke exploded for 24 points off the bench in Saturday's win over the Grizzlies, adding 3 boards, one assist, one steal and six 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

Raul Neto continues to start, but he hasn't been playing well at all and saw just 12 minutes of action tonight. Burke is rolling over his last five games, averaging 15.6 points, 2.6 boards, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.0 3-pointers per game. He isn't the most exciting option out there, but he is worth owning while he is this hot.
Nov 8 - 1:16 AM

Trey Burke played 20 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday with 12 points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers.

He did make just 4-of-12 from field and played off the ball a bunch. The Jazz are starting to tweak their rotation to take Raul Neto out a bit, so that might help or hurt Burke. He's just a hold in 14-team leagues.
Nov 6 - 1:53 AM

Trey Burke scored 17 points with two rebounds, one steal and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes against the Blazers on Wednesday.

After a disaster in the opener, Burke is kind of on a roll. In his last three games, he's averaged 14.0 points, 2.7 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.7 treys on 52.9 percent from the field. Surprisingly, he's made 7-of-8 at the rim, but he has made an unsustainable 7-of-13 on mid-range (53.8 percent). If you want to ride him while he's hot, it's not a bad idea. Preferably, you're not cutting something you're going miss, though.
Nov 5 - 2:06 AM

Trey Burke hit double-digits again on Saturday with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, one 3-pointer, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.

He did his damage in 21 minutes, compared to 20 minutes for starter Raul Neto. The position-battle is spoiling the appeal of both players, though Burke is the guy to own if you're trolling for deep-league sleepers.
Oct 31 - 9:47 PM

Trey Burke went 5-of-10 from the field (zero 3PAs) for 10 points, three rebounds, six assists and a steal in 27 minutes off the bench on Friday.

A game against the Sixers is never one to measure with, but it's nice to see him back on the right side of the ledger. He's a low-end asset at best in Utah, even with their issues at point guard.
Oct 30 - 9:39 PM

In 16 minutes off Utah's bench, Trey Burke posted zero points, one rebound and one assist vs. Detroit on Wednesday.

Burke lost out to Raul Neto in the battle for the PG job during training camp, and he's not a very enticing fantasy option in a backup role. In addition to a paucity of points, rebounds or steals, Burke hasn't shot better than 38.0 percent in his two NBA seasons.
Oct 28 - 11:46 PM

Trey Burke will come off the bench on Wednesday against the Pistons.

This isn't really a demotion for Burke because he was much better off the bench last year. Burke was terrific in the preseason, making 50.0 percent from the field to help him get to a pristine 61.3 true shooting percentage. He's more of a low-end option in standard leagues, and has more value than starter Raul Neto.
Oct 28 - 6:13 PM

Utah head coach Quin Snyder has still not decided who will start on opening night for the Jazz.

Rudy Gobert, Derrick Favors, Alec Burks and Gordon Hayward are all expected to be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pistons, but who gets the nod for the starting point guard position in Utah remains a bit of a mystery. Trey Burke did have himself a productive preseason, averaging 15.3 points, 1.7 three-pointers and 1.3 steals per contest, but the 2.5 assists per game illustrates the issue here as he's not a guy that's particularly looking to get his teammates involved. Raul Neto on the other hand is a pass-first point guard, so there's a chance Snyder leans his way so Burke can keep with his trigger happy ways off the bench as the team's sixth man. All will be revealed on Wednesday, but Burke is the better point guard to own out of the two starting candidates in Utah.

Trey Burke put a nice bow on his preseason on Thursday, scoring 17 points with two rebounds, two assists and two 3-pointers in 25 minutes.

Coach Quin Snyder said it's "clear" Burke is playing great right now. Snyder didn't say whether Burke starts, but he still might come off the bench. Burke's numbers were much better as a sixth man and the Jazz not having a lot of experience in their second unit may force the issue. He's been sub-par in fantasy for his entire career, so he's still not someone worthy of an aggressive target.
Oct 23 - 1:07 AM

Trey Burke had a nice game vs. the Thunder on Tuesday, scoring 20 points on 7-of-15 shooting with four assists, three boards and three steals in 29 minutes.

The Jazz waived Bryce Cotton on Tuesday and Dante Exum (knee) is out for the season, and Burke clearly has the edge over Raul Neto for the starting point guard spot. Burke has had a surprisingly nice (and efficient) preseason thus far and it looks like he should be able to reward owners who spend a late-round pick on him. For what it's worth, Neto scored just four points with two assists in 17 minutes Tuesday.
Oct 21 - 12:43 AM

Trey Burke hit 9-of-12 FGs en route to a team-high 22 points vs. the Blazers on Sunday, hitting four 3-pointers with one rebound, one assist and three steals.

Burke shot 36.8 percent last season, including 31.8 percent from downtown, and he only scored more than 20 points seven times. It's therefore intriguing to see him this efficient offensively, and all signs point to Burke dominating minutes at PG ahead of Raul Neto and Bryce Cotton.
