Shabazz Muhammad was a healthy DNP-CD on Sunday.
Muhammad re-signed with the Wolves this summer for one year at $1.6 million, but he's fallen out of the rotation lately with zero points and two DNPs in his past five games. Tom Thibodeau runs a tight rotation so there's no reason to think Muhammad's situation will improve. Dec 3 - 10:48 PM

Shabazz Muhammad scored 10 points with five rebounds, two 3-pointers and one steal in just 11 minutes of action on Friday.

Nemanja Bjelica (sprained foot) was out tonight, but as usual Tom Thibodeau continues to deploy a top-heavy rotation -- all of his starters are averaging at least 31.2 minutes (Taj Gibson), while none of his bench guys are above 17.2 minutes (Jamal Crawford). Shabazz belongs on the wire in the vast majority of leagues.
Nov 24 - 11:24 PM

Shabazz Muhammad will return to the bench on Friday vs. the Thunder.

Jimmy Butler (illness) is returning from a two-game absence and there's no word of any restrictions, so it's time to evaluate other waiver wire options if you picked up Muhammad.
Oct 27 - 6:24 PM

Shabazz Muhammad made another fill-in start on Wednesday but had just four points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 29 minutes.

Minnesota was destroyed in transition on Tuesday and the Pistons did it again tonight, outscoring the Wolves 24-0 on fastbreak points. Muhammad scored 14 points in his first start but he went just 1-of-9 from the field tonight, and he's nothing more than a DFS punt play if Butler misses more games.
Oct 25 - 10:57 PM

Shabazz Muhammad started at small forward on Tuesday vs. the Pacers, scoring 14 points on 7-of-14 shooting with two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 31 minutes.

Jimmy Butler was a late scratch with an illness, but chances are he'll be ready to roll on Wednesday vs. Detroit. If he's not, Muhammad will be a decent source of points, but he's a one-trick pony and doesn't bring much to the table in the other categories.
Oct 24 - 11:59 PM

Shabazz Muhammad will start for Jimmy Butler against the Pacers on Tuesday.

Muhammad only played eight minutes on Sunday because Butler logged 39 minutes, so he'll be getting a massive uptick. You can bet Andrew Wiggins will play both wing spots, which means Jamal Crawford should be getting a heavy dose of minutes in this game. The smart money is on Crawford closing, too.
Oct 24 - 7:50 PM

Shabazz Muhammad played eight minutes vs. the Thunder on Sunday, scoring two points without any other stats to his credit.

The Wolves retained Muhammad in free agency this summer, despite reported interest from the Lakers -- it's a solid spot in reality, but does him no favors in fantasy leagues. He's never had great per-minute value and belongs on the wire while Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins are healthy.
Oct 22 - 10:00 PM

Shabazz Muhammad will re-sign with the Timberwolves, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

There were some rumors floating around that the Lakers were interested in bringing on Muhammad, but ultimately he decided to re-up with the team that drafted him. Muhammad averaged 9.9 points and not much else in 19.4 minutes per contest with the Wolves last season, and he should have a similar workload during his 2017-18 campaign. There's not much here in terms of fantasy hoops.

The Lakers reportedly remain interested in free agent Shabazz Muhammad.

We heard late last month that Los Angeles was keeping tabs on Muhammad, who is one of the best players still available on the open market. New Lakers GM Rob Pelinka previously served as Muhammad's agent, so there is a connection. It appears that Muhammad will likely choose between returning to the Timberwolves or heading to Los Angeles. Either way, he won't have much fantasy value heading into next season.

According to Wolves reporter Darren Wolfson, there is "slightly growing optimism" that Minnesota will be able to re-sign Shabazz Muhammad.

The Wolves only have 11 players under contract, but barring a roster move, they can only offer a minimum contract. Muhammad has also drawn interest from the Lakers, but they are unlikely to offer him anything more than a one-year deal because they are trying to keep their books clear for free agency in 2018 when LeBron James and Paul George hit the market. If Muhammad re-signs in Minnesota, his fantasy value would be very limited.
Sep 11 - 12:12 PM

Shabazz Muhammad is considering joining the Lakers, according to beat reporter Eric Pincus.

General manager Rob Pelinka was his former agent before his new role, so maybe that helps the Lakers sway 'Bazz. This report adds the Lakers are also considering other options to add to their roster. Plus, Muhammad also played his college ball at nearby UCLA, which helped him go 14th in the draft.
Aug 31 - 9:33 PM

Head coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that the Timberwolves are talking to Shabazz Muhammad about potentially returning to Minnesota.

The Wolves currently have only 11 players under contract for next season, which means they have four roster spots to fill. Muhammad, who spent the first four years of his career in Minnesota, is one of the more attractive free agents still on the market. He's averaged 10.8 points, on 47.7 percent shooting, and 3.2 rebounds over the last three seasons. "Bazz has a great relationship with a number of players on the team," said Thibodeau. "I know they would like to have him back. He’s got to make a decision shortly."
Aug 29 - 9:32 AM

The Wolves are trying to convince Shabazz Muhammad to re-sign with them.

The most the Wolves can offer is the minimum, so they are at a disadvantage compared to a number of other teams. Muhammad is 24 years old and could still get better, but his scoring and playing time have decreased in each of the last two seasons.
Aug 12 - 10:29 PM

Shabazz Muhammad is drawing interest from six teams according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype.

The six teams are the Hawks, Nets, Bucks, Knicks, Magic and Bulls, so it sounds like the 24-year-old wing still has a strong market. It's also pretty safe to rule out a return to Minnesota after they rescinded their qualifying offer in early July. Muhammad is more of a one-trick pony in fantasy with his scoring ability, so it's hard to see him making a significant impact for standard-league owners anywhere he lands.
Jul 20 - 11:05 AM

Free agent F Shabazz Muhammad is reportedly receiving interest from the Hawks, Nets, Bucks and Knicks.

This report is broad enough that there's no use speculating how Bazz would fit on each team, but it does seem like he'll sign sooner rather than later, especially with cap space having dried up in a hurry.
