Timberwolves head coach Sam Mitchell said that Shabazz Muhammad will start to see more consistent minutes for Minnesota.
Tayshaun Prince is going to start coming off the bench, and the 13 year veteran's minutes will take a hit with the demotion to the second-unit, which will result in more playing time for Shabazz. Muhammad doesn't do a lot aside from score, but he's on the radar in deeper leagues with the expected minutes bump. However, given his sporadic play thus far, we'd use a wait-and-see approach before making the add. Nov 22 - 3:05 PM

Shabazz Muhammad scored 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting in Tuesday's win over the Heat.

He also added two assists and two 3-pointers in 20 minutes, but his playing time has been way too sporadic this season and he was averaging just 17.5 minutes per game prior to tonight. His outlook will improve after the All-Star break, but he isn't on the standard-league radar at the moment.
Nov 17 - 11:32 PM

Shabazz Muhammad made 1-of-4 from the field for four points with two rebounds and one assist in 21 minutes.

He squandered his chance here. Muhammad turned the ball over two times and committed a couple lazy fouls. He was coming into this one with some momentum, but he's struggled with consistency. It's unknown how long Kevin Martin (personal) will be out, but there's no need to add 'Bazz now.
Nov 7 - 9:11 PM

Shabazz Muhammad played 23 minutes against the Heat on Thursday with 14 points, six boards, one assist and one block.

Tayshaun Prince finally saw his minutes come down to 11. Hopefully, the Wolves focus more on development because Muhammad has shown some flashes and his high-motor style fits in nicely. He doesn't have a big upside in standard leagues, but owners in points leagues might want to toss him on their watch list.
Nov 6 - 12:19 AM

Shabazz Muhammad scored 10 points in 19 minutes off the bench against the Lakers on Wednesday, with one rebound and one 3-pointer.

Tayshaun Prince started and played 15 minutes, but it's important to keep in mind that Prince's role will decline as the season progresses. Muhammad doesn't really make any noise in the box score outside of points and 3-pointers, so it's going to be hard for him to hold lasting value in standard leagues in a bench role.
Oct 29 - 2:07 AM

Timberwolves exercised the contract option of G/F Shabazz Muhammad.

Somewhat of a forgotten about member of the Wolves' young core by those who don't follow the team closely, Muhammad is a scorer that this Minnesota team will need.
Oct 23 - 8:23 PM

Shabazz Muhammad scored 18 points off the bench in just 25 minutes against the Bucks on Tuesday.

Muhammad was 3-of-7 from the field but his aggression allowed him to get to the free throw line often where he connected on all 11 of his attempts. The starting small forward job is up for grabs even though the veteran Tayshaun Prince is reportedly the favorite, but Muhammad could force coach Sam Mitchell's hand with more performances like this.
Oct 20 - 11:16 PM

Shabazz Muhammad said the Wolves are asking him to play shooting guard, small forward and power forward.

He dropped close to 25 pounds and has the inside track to be the ninth man in the rotation. Muhammad was a usage-rate beast at times last year, but that's a little less likely now with the Wolves getting a lot of healthy bodies back. His upside is a tad too low in Roto-style leagues.
Oct 2 - 8:49 PM

Shabazz Muhammad said he's 100 percent and has been working out all summer.

He reportedly dropped 30 pounds this summer, so maybe he shifts to more small forward this year. The Wolves went over the top with their additions at power forward while they are a little thinner on the wings. Muhammad isn't worth drafting in most leagues, though.
Sep 28 - 2:42 PM

Shabazz Muhammad lost 30 pounds since the start of July.

If true, wow. Muhammad isn't the fittest of players, so this is really nice to see. He's expected to play more small forward than last year, but he's not in a favorable position like he was last year. He's only a target in deep leagues.
Aug 21 - 4:11 PM

Shabazz Muhammad had surgery to repair a ruptured ligament in his middle finger.

He will miss the rest of the season and the Wolves currently do not have a healthy backup small forward behind Andrew Wiggins besides Glenn Robinson III. Muhammad made some nice strides this season, but he's going to have a tough time gaining value in standard leagues with his lack of diversity on the stat sheet.
Feb 23 - 7:05 PM

Shabazz Muhammad will have surgery on his finger and will miss the rest of the season.

Ouch. He played through a finger injury on Friday and it must have been more serious than the team initially thought. The Wolves are also running out of forwards these days with Anthony Bennett out for at least two weeks. Besides Muhammad, Kevin Martin and Andrew Wiggins, Gary Neal was the only other player to get minutes at the two or three on Friday. Neal and maybe even Glenn Robinson III get minutes now. Also, maybe Zach LaVine plays some shooting guard now, which didn't happen on Friday. All that said, Martin and Wiggins gaining a few minutes is really the only major fantasy implication here.
Feb 21 - 6:29 PM

Shabazz Muhammad (finger) and Anthony Bennett (leg) will not travel to face the Rockets on Sunday.

Muhammad didn't look great on Friday and only played 13 minutes. Although, he did log a good chunk of his minutes as a small forward, so that should help once he's ready to go. Muhummad didn't play power forward at all, so his fantasy upside is going to be capped as long as Kevin Martin is active. With Muhammad and Bennett out, Gorgui Dieng will get more run while Adreian Payne may also play more.
Feb 21 - 2:29 PM

Shabazz Muhammad (hand, finger) played just 13 minutes on Friday, scoring seven points on 3-of-4 shooting with two rebounds, one assist and one steal.

It's not a stretch to see Muhammad getting minutes once the veterans start to peel off the track down the stretch. He's not worth owning now in standard leagues but we'll be keeping an eye on him.
Feb 21 - 1:49 AM

Shabazz Muhammad (hand) will play against the Suns on Friday.

He has his fingers on his non-shooting hand taped up and should be fine. The departure of Thaddeus Young really helps Muhammad here because he does log some minutes at power forward. Considering his 24.6 usage rate this season, owners in most leagues should watch him, especially for points and DFS.
