Shabazz Muhammad came off the bench and played through a sore ankle to hit 7-of-14 shots and a 3-pointer for a season-high 22 points and eight rebounds in Monday's win.
He didn't do anything else, but it's nice to know he can still score. There are other players with more upside you can deploy for Wednesday's finale, as it's hard to see Muhammad doing this in two straight games. This was his first double-digit scoring game since March 23. Apr 9 - 11:01 PM

Shabazz Muhammad (right ankle) is questionable to play Monday vs. Orlando.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle) is also questionable, and if both these guys are out, Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker could be forced into heavy minutes. Muhammad also missed Saturday's game and he belongs on the waiver wire in all formats.
Apr 9 - 2:57 PM

Shabazz Muhammad (right ankle sprain) has been ruled out of Saturday's game vs. the Knicks.

Minimal fantasy impact here, as Muhammad has seen multiple DNP-CD's of late and is averaging just 4.8 points and 1.5 rebounds in 7.1 minutes over his last four appearances. He belongs on waivers in all fantasy formats.
Apr 7 - 10:26 AM

Shabazz Muhammad was back to being a non-factor on Sunday, scoring eight points on 3-of-7 shooting to go with four rebounds and one assist in 10 minutes off the bench.

Muhammad had a really nice 21-point game on Friday with Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle) out, but with The Greek Freak back in action, Muhammad returned to being a non-factor in the rotation. He’s not worth owning anywhere.
Mar 25 - 6:49 PM

Shabazz Muhammad scored a season-high 21 points on 9-of-12 shots in Friday's 118-105 win over the Bulls.

He did all of his damage in just 20 minutes and gave the Bucks a big lift with Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle) on the shelf. Muhammad is usually a one-trick pony for his scoring, but filled up the box score nicely with five rebounds, three assists, two steals, one block and two triples. Antetokounmpo is expected back "sooner rather than later," but the Bucks haven't provided a real timetable. If we hear that Giannis will miss more time, Muhammad will be a potential pickup with a game on Sunday and four games next week.
Mar 24 - 12:51 AM

Shabazz Muhammad scored 12 points with four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 14 minutes against the Clippers on Wednesday.

He'll be the next man up while Giannis Antetokounmpo (ankle) is out. Muhammad doesn't offer enough upside to be added in most leagues until we get word on Giannis.
Mar 21 - 11:33 PM

Shabazz Muhammad posted six points on 2-of-3 shooting in six minutes off the bench Friday against the Knicks.

Muhammad didn't play much, but he had the six points while going 2-of-2 from the free-throw line with a rebounds and a steal. It will likely take an injury or two before Muhammad has any kind of meaningful role in Cream City. Still, his presence might carve into the minutes of Ian Snell, especially if he goes scoreless across 27 minutes like he did Friday.
Mar 9 - 11:22 PM

Shabazz Muhammad was available to play on Sunday but he wound up as a DNP-CD.

Muhammad just joined the team and his inactivity wasn't a surprise. "I think I’ll probably get some minutes off the bench — that’s why I came here, to help out," he said before the game. "[I'm] trying to give us that scoring punch off the bench, also help us with rebounding and stuff like that and a little transition, speed us up." It would take a few injuries for Muhammad to emerge as a fantasy asset.
Mar 4 - 11:24 PM

Shabazz Muhammad plans to commit to the Bucks when he clears waivers, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

That didn't take long after he was officially waived less than an hour ago. Muhammad hasn't even been able to get minutes while Jimmy Butler (knee) has been out, and he'll have to earn his playing time on his new team. There is an opportunity for him because he'll be competing with Sterling Brown, Sean Kilpatrick and Tony Snell for minutes. Still, there's no need to add Muhammad in almost any fantasy league.
Mar 1 - 10:28 PM

The Timberwolves and Shabazz Muhammad have reportedly agreed to a buyout.

Just yesterday, coach Tom Thibodeau said the Wolves wouldn't buy out Muhammad's contract, saying, "Nope, we live the team we have." Nevertheless, he hasn't been in the rotation since November, not even with Jimmy Butler getting hurt recently, so it makes sense for Minnesota to part ways with him. He reportedly hopes to join a playoff contender, and is a longshot to reclaim fantasy relevance this season.
Mar 1 - 8:26 PM

The Wolves are not planning to buy out Shabazz Muhammad's contract.

"Nope, we like the team we have," coach Tom Thibodeau said. Even after the Jimmy Butler (knee) injury, Muhammad still can't find any minutes in Minnesota. He will have to wait until the offseason for a fresh start.
Mar 1 - 10:35 AM

The Timberwolves would potentially be open to buying out the remainder of Shabazz Muhammad's contract, according to owner Glen Taylor.

Muhammad reportedly was hoping to be waived or traded prior to the deadline. However, he's still with the Wolves. "Shabazz hasn’t gotten out on the floor to play very much, so he’s disappointed," Taylor said. "He would like to get with a team that he could put in more minutes and show his skill-set. We have given the OK that if he finds such a team he can go to and wants to walk away, [he can] get out of our contract." Muhammad is likely stuck in Minnesota unless he wants to give some money back. He should be left on waivers in all fantasy formats.
Feb 16 - 12:08 PM

Shabazz Muhammad has requested to be traded or released, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of

He's way out of the rotation and Muhammad barely playing when Jimmy Butler was out is all we need to know about how coach Tom Thibodeau feels. There's a decent chance Muhammad is just released and there's almost no chance he'll be back with the Wolves next year.
Feb 3 - 5:12 PM

Shabazz Muhammad scored seven points with two rebounds in 12 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday.

He seems to be behind both Marcus Georges-Hunt and Nemanja Bjelica to help fill the void left on the wing. Muhammad isn't really worth adding in almost any league.
Jan 21 - 12:46 AM

After 13 straight DNP-CDs, Shabazz Muhammad played four minutes of garbage time on Sunday with two points on 1-of-5 shots.

"He has done a good job handling it," Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau said of Muhammad's reduced role. "He has been a good pro. He’s working hard. He has a positive attitude. Just keep working and you never know. These things can change suddenly." Muhammad was hoping to increase his market value this season after re-signing for just $1.6 million, but he's been buried on the bench with Thibodeau running a tight rotation and playing his starters big minutes.
