Flip Saunders said that Shabazz Muhammad is "still a ways away" from making a return, and he is scheduled to see a specialist next week.
Saunders also said he hopes to have Shabazz back before the All-Star break, but it's not clear exactly what role he'd be returning when Kevin Martin returns to the lineup. Muhammad's return would really hurt the value of Chase Budinger and Robbie Hummel. Jan 23 - 7:10 PM

Shabazz Muhammad is expected to miss the next two weeks with an abdominal strain.

It was unclear what was bothering Muhammad and the degree of the strain is not yet known. Muhummad was one of the most improved players in the NBA and he's been a key part of the offense since Kevin Martin (wrist) went down with 28.7 minutes per game. It would appear Martin is going to be ready before Muhammad, so he's probably a better pickup in fantasy. Meanwhile, Chase Budinger and Robbie Hummel will pick up minutes and Thaddeus Young should get more shots, which could be bad thing.

Shabazz Muhammad (abdominal) will not play on Saturday vs. the Spurs.

This is a tough blow for Muhammad's owners as he has been solid for the Wolves this season in the absence of Kevin Martin (wrist). Chase Budinger will get the nod in the starting lineup on Saturday and is worth a look in deeper leagues for owners in need of 3-pointers. We will continue to pass along updates on Muhammad's status as soon as we know more.
Jan 10 - 6:55 PM

Shabazz Muhammad (abdominal) is doubtful to play against the Spurs.

The Wolves only got seven minutes out of Muhammad on Friday and he's been diagnosed with a few different issues in the past 24 hours. If he is out, Chase Budinger should get some extra chances to score from the perimeter. Thaddeus Young will also benefit while basically everyone should shoot more because of 'Bazz's high usage rate.
Jan 10 - 5:36 PM

Shabazz Muhammad (abdominal) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Spurs.

He was originally thought to be dealing with a groin injury but now it is simply being called lower abdominal soreness. His owners will want to check back prior to tip-off before plugging him into lineups, and we expect Chase Budinger to be the primary beneficiary should Muhammad miss any action. Stay tuned.
Jan 10 - 1:05 PM

Shabazz Muhammad played just 21 minutes due to a groin injury on Friday, finishing with 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and two turnovers.

He only played seven minutes in the second half due to the injury. There are a lot of groin strains popping up in the NBA these days and the severity of Muhammad's ailment is not yet known. The Wolves host the Spurs on Saturday, so Muhammad should be considered questionable. If he's out, expect to see a Chase Budinger pick up the most amount of playing time.
Jan 10 - 2:35 AM

Shabazz Muhammad made 7-of-13 from the field for 19 points during a 110-101 loss to the Nuggets on Monday with six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two 3-pointers.

He was in a slump and hasn't been doing enough to offset the poor shooting. Muhammad's minutes shouldn't take a major hit once Kevin Martin (wrist) comes back, but he could be losing some shots. His fantasy owners shouldn't be making a proactive cut on Shabazz.
Jan 6 - 12:46 AM

Shabazz Muhammad scored just eight points with one rebound, and one assist in 21 minutes against the Jazz on Saturday.

He scored 15 points on Thursday and has been below 39 percent from the field in four of his last five games. Muhammad was hot earlier, but now that he's cooling off there's a chance he loses some run to Kevin Martin (wrist) later this month. He's still worth owning in most leagues.
Jan 3 - 10:55 PM

Shabazz Muhammad set multiple career-highs with 30 points and five 3-pointers vs. Utah on Tuesday, making 10-of-17 FGs and 5-of-5 FTs with seven rebounds, two assists, one block and only one turnover in 38 minutes.

He had cooled off recently, shooting a combined 18-of-42 from the field (42.9 percent) in Minnesota's past three games, but he made a statement with tonight's impressive outburst. Owners should factor in some inconsistency for the 22-year-old Muhammad, and the eventual return of Kevin Martin may dent his production, but he's done enough to hold top-100 value over the Wolves' past 14 games. If he's still available in your league, pick him up.
Wed, Dec 31, 2014 12:38:00 AM

Shabazz Muhammad scored nine points with nine rebounds, one assist, one block and one 3-pointer in 29 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday.

While the news of Kevin Martin (wrist) getting closer certainly doesn't help Muhammad's value, there's no need to panic. He plays three different positions and the Wolves are clearly rebuilding. Muhammad is doing more than just scoring on the stat sheet and does have a block in three straight, so keep him owned in standard leagues.
Sun, Dec 28, 2014 01:47:00 AM

Shabazz Muhammad scored 14 points on 5-of-14 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and one block over 34 minutes in Friday's loss.

The threes and block save this from being a complete disaster, and because he doesn't do much besides score at times owners need to be ready for the occasional dud. A six-game sample shows him at a mid-round value for owners, so he should be in most lineups unless he starts to fall off.

The Timberwolves have been impressed with Shabazz Muhammad's development.

As have fantasy owners. Muhammad has really come on of late, and he's now scored 20-plus points in four straight games. Muhammad has also received at least 15 shots in each of those while playing at least 27.5 minutes, so the opportunity is there for the second-year forward to make his presence felt. He should be owned in all formats.
Mon, Dec 22, 2014 09:35:00 AM

Shabazz Muhammad scored 21 points on 8-of-18 FGs and 5-of-6 FTs in Sunday's disappointing home loss, marking his ninth consecutive game with double-digit points.

Muhammad's rapid development was a big reason the Wolves traded Corey Brewer, and he's poised for big minutes the rest of the season. He added six rebounds, two assists, two steals and three turnovers in 37 minutes on Sunday.
Sun, Dec 21, 2014 10:32:00 PM

Shabazz Muhammad was excellent in his first start at shooting guard on Friday, scoring 26 points with five boards, five assists and two 3-pointers on 11-of-15 from the field.

The triples were a very nice surprise and he also had a career high in dimes. Muhammad played 38 minutes tonight and he's going to play in the mid-30s most nights going forward. He's not going to be this good, but he should be owned in all standard leagues.
Fri, Dec 19, 2014 10:48:00 PM

Shabazz Muhammad will start at shooting guard against the Friday against the Celtics.

He is getting the ball a ton and was the primary weapon in the second unit. Muhammad is a ball-dominant player, but he does have 64.9 of his baskets coming off an assist. The scoring makes him worth a look in standard leagues and his owners should just hope he starts adding more stats.
