Anthony Bennett got hot and hit 7-of-9 shots for 17 points, five rebound and a steal in just 17 minutes off the bench on Tuesday.
Bennett looked very good tonight, but Andrew Wiggins wasn't playing and Thaddeus Young had a quiet game. Bennett is worth keeping a close eye on going forward, and showed no signs of a knee injury that's been bothering him lately. Oct 21 - 10:39 PM

Anthony Bennett (sore knee) expects to play vs. the Pacers on Tuesday.

Shabazz Muhammad (Achilles) is also returning to action, leaving Minnesota with a blank injury report for the first time this preseason. Bennett's backup role makes him someone to avoid in 12-team fantasy leagues, but he's worth keeping an eye on as the season progresses.
Oct 21 - 3:30 PM

Anthony Bennett struggled in 11 minutes on Sunday before sitting out due to a sore knee.

He went 0-of-2 from the field with two rebounds and one steal in limited action. His knee injury doesn't sound serious but it's one more obstacle between Bennett and meaningful fantasy value. He's not a recommended fantasy target while Andrew Wiggins and Thaddeus Young are both healthy.
Oct 19 - 10:13 PM

Anthony Bennett had his team option exercised on Sunday.

Bennett was one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory last season, but we do have to remember that he was playing with a shoulder injury. He looked great in both summer league as well as preseason, but will find minutes tough to come by behind a talented Thaddeus Young. He is nothing more than a deep league asset at the moment.
Oct 19 - 3:13 PM

Anthony Bennett double-doubled off the bench in Friday's preseason loss, scoring 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting with 11 rebounds, two steals and one block in 30 minutes.

Bennett is buried in a crowded frontcourt and these preseason lines grow on trees, but a year ago he wouldn't have sniffed a night like this. It appears like he's turning the page on a disastrous rookie campaign, but Dynasty owners may want to look for further proof of life before investing too much into his future.
Oct 18 - 12:33 AM

Anthony Bennett's play was encouraging on Friday as he tallied 13 points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes of work against Philadelphia.

Bennett missed the first preseason game with a strained hip flexor but looked good on Friday. After a dreadful rookie campaign, Bennett will try to get his career back on track in Minnesota. He will likely come off the bench but he could be a low end fantasy option if he gets the minutes.
Oct 11 - 9:22 AM

Anthony Bennett (hip) practiced on Thursday and may play in the Timberwolves' preseason game on Friday.

It's an encouraging sign that Bennett was able to practice after sitting out Tuesday's exhibition game. Bennett is hoping to have a bounce-back year after struggling throughout his entire rookie campaign. Although he looked much improved during Summer League, his fantasy relevance is still very much in question.
Oct 9 - 2:52 PM

Anthony Bennett (strained hip flexor) shot around prior to Tuesday's exhibition but the Wolves' withheld him from the game as a precaution.

Hip flexors are easy to aggravate and this injury is worth watching, but it sounds like Bennett will be playing without restrictions in the near future. As long as Thaddeus Young is healthy there's not enough breathing room at PF for Bennett to have fantasy appeal.
Oct 8 - 3:01 AM

Anthony Bennett is unlikely to play vs. the Raptors on Tuesday due to a "slight knee tweak."

This is the definition of a precautionary absence, as the Wolves have no reason to risk aggravating the former No. 1 pick's minor ailment. Thaddeus Young has the Wolves' starting PF job locked down, and it may take a frontcourt injury to create any fantasy value for Bennett.
Oct 7 - 1:15 PM

Coach Flip Saunders said that he doesn't want Anthony Bennett to shoot 3-pointers.

He attempted 4.0 triples per game at summer league and attempted one per game in Cleveland last season, but he failed to shoot above 25 percent in either of those instances. Bennett has impressed the coaching staff so far, but he'll only be a backup to start the season.
Oct 2 - 9:52 PM

Coach Flip Saudners called Anthony Bennett an early surprise thus far in training camp.

Saunders pointed out that Bennett has been shooting and rebounding well early on. Bennett's sophomore campaign is an important one, as he is coming off one of the worst rookie seasons for a number-one overall pick. He looked good noticeably slimmer in Summer League and admitted that running the floor is much easier with his current physique.
Oct 2 - 3:15 PM

Anthony Bennett has looked good in training camp and says he feels better, thanks to an improved physique.

"It’s definitely been a lot easier for me to run up and down," Bennett said. "I played 20 minutes straight [at Dunks After Dark] and I didn’t really have a problem with it." Bennett is a deep sleeper with the Wolves this season and should look much better than he did last year. Although he wouldn't exactly have to crush it to make that happen.

Oct 1 - 10:53 PM

Coach Flip Saunders said Anthony Bennett looks "great" at camp and added how much the forward has toned up this summer.

Bennett was toned at Las Vegas Summer League and was one of the biggest bright spots of the event. He's likely going to backup Thaddeus Young at power forward, so he probably won't have enough fantasy value to draft in standard leagues just yet.
Sep 29 - 1:28 PM

Anthony Bennett said he's looking forward to a new start with the Timberwolves,

He added he was able to play well at summer league because he had a free mind. Bennett had surgery to correct his sleep apnea, which may help his respiratory problems. He'll be coming off the bench and the Wolves won't be playing him at center, so he's only a target in deep leagues for now.

Sep 8 - 1:40 PM

Anthony Bennett is expected to join Shabazz Muhammad and Ronny Turiaf in California next week.

Shabazz and Ronny both went to school in California and they're expected to work out with an unconventional trainer. Fitness is the paramount concern for Bennett heading into the season, but at least he showed he can play 30 minutes in a game like he did in Las Vegas. He's a late-round lottery ticket in deeper leagues.
