Cody Zeller scored 12 points with nine rebounds, three assists and one block in 31 minutes against the Nets on Saturday.
This resembles the Zeller we should get going forward over the one that saw just 24.0 minutes per game in the previous two. Zeller has been a top-100 player in his last 10 games, which is probably around where he'll be the rest of the way with a little mid-round upside when he's in a groove. Jan 21 - 10:14 PM

Date:

Cody Zeller played 23 minutes against the Raptors on Friday with 11 points, three rebounds, one assist and one turnover.

Roy Hibbert had a decent game again and the game got to garbage time, so that explains the dip in playing time. Zeller has been flirting with mid-round value in 2017, so he's still a hold in standard leagues.
Jan 20 - 10:15 PM

Cody Zeller hit 5-of-7 shots and 3-of-4 free throws for 13 points, eight rebounds, two assists and a block in Monday's 108-98 loss to the Celtics.

Five of his rebounds were offensive, which was nice, and he played 31 minutes in the start. He had a 16 & 10 double-double on Friday and played well again tonight, meaning he should be owned in most leagues now that he's healthy and starting at center again for the Hornets.
Jan 16 - 9:59 PM

Cody Zeller scored 16 points with 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and three turnovers in 36 minutes against the 76ers on Friday.

Roy Hibbert is basically toast and the Hornets don't trust Spencer Hawes for consistent minutes, so Zeller looks like he's set for a big role. If you take injuries out of the equation, he's played 33-plus minutes in his last three full games. He is worth a pickup in standard leagues.
Jan 13 - 9:41 PM

Cody Zeller (illness) will start without a restriction on Friday against the 76ers.

He will get a heavy dose of The Process, so he may still look sick in this game. Zeller was playing well before his illness and was turning in late-round value, so he's worth a look in standard leagues.
Jan 13 - 5:47 PM

Cody Zeller (illness) returned to practice on Thursday.

Assuming he feels fine in the morning, Zeller should be good to go for Friday's game vs. Philly. He's averaging 10.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.1 blocks per game this season, so he's just a low-end asset in standard leagues. Roy Hibbert will head back to the bench, while Spencer Hawes will no longer be a viable punt play in DFS.
Jan 12 - 11:26 AM

Cody Zeller (illness) and Nicolas Batum (knee) have been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Rockets.

Roy Hibbert will be starting for Zeller tonight, but he'll likely just split the five-man minutes with Spencer Hawes, making him an unattractive option in most formats. Jeremy Lamb will get the start sans Batum, and Marco Belinelli should have the opportunity for some extended minutes off the bench. Flu season has been wreaking havoc on the NBA landscape this season, but with Charlotte off until Friday, Zeller should only be looking at a one-game absence here.

Cody Zeller (illness) did not attend shootaround and is not expected to be available Tuesday night vs. Houston.

Roy Hibbert would likely draw the start if Zeller is unable to play. Hibbert has started eight games this season but is averaging just 6.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in those eight contests. Spencer Hawes would also see an uptick in minutes, but it is difficult to trust either player from a fantasy perspective.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Even with Zeller not expected to play, targeting the Charlotte front-court is still a dangerous endeavor. Instead, look towards the value that opens up as a result of Nicolas Batum's absence. Jeremy Lamb should once again be thrust into fairly large minute totals - he was able to average about a FP per minute in 29 minutes against the Spurs despite shooting 33% from the field - making him an elite value target. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's minutes also become more secure with Batum out of action.
Jan 10 - 1:18 PM

Cody Zeller (illness) is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Rockets.

It's flu season, and Zeller looks to be the latest victim. Owners can expect to get another update following Tuesday morning's shootaround, but if Zeller is forced to the sidelined, he's minutes would be divvied up between Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes with Hibbert likely moving into the starting five. Stay tuned.

Cody Zeller scored nine points with eight rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 32 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday night.

He returned to action after missing three games due to a concussion. It was a good sign to see Zeller play over 30 minutes in his first game back. He finished one point and two boards shy of his third double-double of the season. The Hornets head to Houston on Tuesday to take on the Rockets, who are giving up 15.8 rebounds and the eighth most fantasy points per game to opposing centers.
Jan 8 - 12:44 AM

Cody Zeller (concussion) will start against the Spurs on Saturday night.

He was close to returning to action on Thursday and has cleared the concussion protocol. Zeller was starting to play well before his concussion and played 33 minutes before he suffered the injury on Dec. 29. He's worth a look in standard leagues. Roy Hibbert, Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky could lose minutes.
Jan 7 - 6:57 PM

Cody Zeller (concussion protocol) is listed as questionable for Saturday against the Spurs.

He should be close to a return after going through some of warmups on Thursday. If Zeller can go, he would take minutes from Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky.
Jan 6 - 6:45 PM

Cody Zeller (concussion protocol) is out for Thursday's game against the Pistons.

The Hornets ruled him out after his pre-game workout, so he's still in the protocol. Zeller should have a good chance to play on Saturday in San Antonio and is a hold in fantasy. Spencer Hawes has benefited most while Frank Kaminsky gets an added opportunity tonight.
Jan 5 - 6:31 PM

Cody Zeller (concussion protocol) is testing himself on the court to determine if he can play against the Pistons on Thursday.

He's a game-time call. Zeller has been able to pass some of the concussion testing, but he doesn't appear to be cleared just yet. If he is out, Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky should get some extra run.
Jan 5 - 6:17 PM

Cody Zeller (concussion) passed the first series of tests in the concussion protocol and remains out for Wednesday against the Thunder.

That's a good sign for Zeller to be ready for the weekend. With Zeller out tonight, Roy Hibbert, Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky should handle the minutes at the five.
