Cody Zeller got into some foul trouble on Monday vs. the Hawks, finishing with eight points and five rebounds.
He picked up five fouls and only lasted 22 minutes, but feel free to blame it on the matchup with Dwight Howard. This dud comes on the heels of a 19-point game on Saturday with five rebounds, four steals and two blocks in 33 minutes, so his owners should give him a chance to redeem himself on Wednesday vs. the Magic. Cody Zeller made 8-of-10 from the field for 19 points with five rebounds, four steals and two blocks in 33 minutes against the Wizards on Saturday.

It wasn't all dunks and Zeller had some really nice drives to the basket in this win. The scoring is a big surprise with this game as his first over 15 points since Jan. 13, and also those four steals match his season high. Zeller has been a low-ceiling, high-floor guy in fantasy, so he should be able to flirt with top-100 value going forward. Frank Kaminsky's move to the five shouldn't hurt him too much.
Mar 18 - 10:38 PM

Cody Zeller scored 11 points with seven rebounds on Monday vs. the Bulls.

Frank Kaminsky returned to action, but he only played 24 minutes compared to 34 for Zeller. He shot 4-of-10 from the field and added two assists, one steal and two blocks, and it was encouraging that the Hornets used a three-man rotation at the four and five. Maybe that changes when Nicolas Batum (migraine) is back, but Zeller is worth deploying in standard leagues until further notice. He only has two more games this week, though.
Mar 13 - 11:01 PM

Cody Zeller scored six points with nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 40 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday.

He's going to be seeing Anthony Davis scoring on him in his dreams. On the bright side, the quad contusion issue is obviously behind him and it certainly helps his only backup is Christian Wood. There was some hope Frank Kaminsky (shoulder) could return next week and Zeller does only have three games for the upcoming Monday-to-Sunday week, so he's not the strongest start in weekly. He should still be owned in standard leagues with all that playing time and a fairly high floor.
Mar 11 - 10:13 PM

Cody Zeller scored six points with seven rebounds, three assists and one block in 31 minutes against the Magic on Friday.

He played 17.4 minutes in the first half, so coach Steve Clifford likely had Zeller penciled in for about 35 minutes tonight. Zeller's backup is Christian Wood, so Clifford probably doesn't want to turn to the inexperienced guy too much -- Wood was good today. Zeller is a fine, low-upside guy to own in standard leagues.
Mar 10 - 10:03 PM

Cody Zeller finished Wednesday's road loss with eight points on 4-of-8 shooting, five rebounds, two assists and two blocks in a game-high 42 minutes of action.

Frank Kaminsky (shoulder) is out for at least a few more days, and we've yet to hear the results of Miles Plumlee's (calf) re-evaluation, which is supposed to take place any day now. Johnny O'Bryant (right ankle sprain) also left tonight, and if he misses any time Zeller could find himself playing 40+ minutes again on Friday.
Mar 8 - 11:06 PM

Cody Zeller double-doubled in Monday's win over the Pacers, finishing with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Zeller shot 5-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from the line in 34 minutes with two assists and two steals. This was his best game since he returned from his quad injury and he looked very spry, grabbing five of his boards on the offensive glass. He's worth picking up as a low-end big in standard leagues, especially while Frank Kaminsky (shoulder) is on the shelf.
Mar 6 - 11:22 PM

Cody Zeller scored 11 points with eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and no turnovers in 26 minutes against the Nuggets on Saturday.

He had his hands full with Nikola Jokic, so it's tough to gauge how Zeller looked in this game. He may not be 100 percent from his lingering quad contusions, but he'll have Sunday off before he faces Myles Turner on Monday. With Frank Kaminsky (shoulder) likely out, Zeller is worth a look in standard leagues as a high-floor big man.
Mar 5 - 12:15 AM

Cody Zeller will return to the starting lineup against the Nuggets on Saturday.

With Frank Kaminsky (shoulder), this was an easy call for coach Steve Clifford. Zeller did play 24 minutes on Thursday and he should be looking at over 30 minutes tonight. Considering his backup is Christian Wood, Zeller is back as a pickup in standard leagues. We should see a good amount of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at the four tonight, too.
Mar 4 - 7:37 PM

Cody Zeller came off the bench against the Suns on Thursday, scoring six points with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 24 minutes.

The Hornets have limited him due to a nagging quad injury, but they may not have that luxury anymore with Frank Kaminsky getting hurt tonight. Kaminsky's injury looked pretty bad, so Zeller makes for a solid speculative pickup for anyone needing a high-floor big man in standard leagues.
Mar 3 - 12:08 AM

Cody Zeller will come off the bench and will have a minutes limit against the Suns on Thursday.

Frank Kaminsky will get the start for today it's possible Kaminsky keeps the job, too. Zeller was playing really well before his quad contusion, but Kaminsky has been better as a center than just about anyone expected. Zeller is still worth a look, assuming you're OK with a lower upside than he had before.
Mar 2 - 7:38 PM

Cody Zeller (quad) returned to action on Tuesday vs. the Lakers, scoring six points on 3-of-6 shooting with five rebounds and one assist in 18 minutes.

He missed all four of his free throws, but he was likely shaking off some rust because he was shooting 69.2 percent from the line prior to Tuesday. He came off the bench behind Frank Kaminsky in an effort to keep his minutes in check, as Zeller has missed six straight games and 13 of the last 14 games. The good news is that he didn't suffer a setback, so he's back on the standard-league radar with his minutes expected to trend up going forward.
Mar 1 - 1:15 AM

Cody Zeller (quad) will play limited minutes off the bench on Tuesday vs. the Lakers.

He has missed six straight games and 13 of the Hornets last 14 games, so they are going to take it easy on him right out of the gate. Since Zeller is limited, that means Frank Kaminsky will be relevant for a little while longer.
Feb 28 - 9:15 PM

Cody Zeller (quad) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game vs. the Lakers.

Zeller has missed six straight and 13 of the Hornets last 14 games. Frank Kaminsky, who has stepped up in a big way over the last month, would draw another start if Zeller is out once again on Tuesday. Kaminsky is averaging 19.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.7 3-pointers over the Hornets last six games.

Feb 28 - 12:06 PM

Cody Zeller (quad) is inactive for Saturday night.

His quad contusion has cost him playing time dating back to Jan. 24. Frank Kaminsky will start again and has some value for owners needing scoring out of a PF/C spot.
