Cody Zeller (right shoulder) started Wednesday's game and finished with six points, seven rebounds, two assists and one block, playing 28 minutes ahead of Spencer Hawes.
Zeller reclaimed the starting job but not his usual allotment of minutes, and could face more competition due to Hawes' solid play in his absence. The good news is that Al Jefferson (knee surgery) remains without a clear return date, and Zeller should still carve out value until Big Al is healthy. Feb 3 - 10:15 PM

Cody Zeller (right shoulder) will be available to play Wednesday vs. Cleveland.

Zeller looks ready to return from a six-game absence on Wednesday night, although his minutes will likely be monitored and he'll have a tough matchup with the Cavs, making him an unattractive DFS target. That being said, Zeller was playing pretty well before going down with the shoulder injury, so he's someone to consider swooping up in deep leagues if you have someone to cut. Zeller's return to action will cut into Spencer Hawes, Marvin Williams and Frank Kaminsky's minutes.

Cody Zeller (right shoulder) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers.

Zeller was due to sit for a week after spraining his shoulder, so a return on Wednesday would fit perfectly into that timetable. It's worth taking a look on the waiver wire to see if a fellow fantasy owner got impatient, as the 23-year-old was playing well before he got hurt. His eventual return will cut into the fantasy value of Spencer Hawes, Frank Kaminsky, and Marvin Williams.

Cody Zeller (shoulder) has a sprained right shoulder and will miss at least one week.

An MRI revealed the diagnosis and it's possible he misses more than a week. Zeller was playing well before this injury, so his owners in shallower leagues might have a tough decision on keeping him. Spencer Hawes will remain in the starting lineup, but he's still only a short-term option in deep leagues.

Cody Zeller (right shoulder strain) will not play on Saturday vs. the Knicks.

This will be his second game in a row on the sidelines, but it isn't clear how much more time he will miss. Spencer Hawes started at center on Friday and double-doubled with 16 points, 10 boards, three assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes, so he's at least on the radar in deeper leagues if you need short-term value. Frank Kaminsky will get a boost in minutes as well on Saturday.

Cody Zeller (right shoulder strain) will not play Friday vs. Orlando.

Zeller suffered the shoulder injury during Wednesday's loss to OKC and was unable to return, and it's not a great sign to see him being ruled out so early for Friday's game. Frank Kaminsky should see his playing time in the 30s on Friday night, and he's worth a look in deep leagues, as he's been averaging 15.5 points, 6.0 boards and 1.8 three-pointers on 55.6 percent shooting over his previous four outings.

Cody Zeller (shoulder) will not return against the Thunder on Wednesday.

He suffered a strained right shoulder and the Hornets ruled him out about 20 minutes in real time after the injury. If he's out going forward, the Hornets would likely be looking at Spencer Hawes and Tyler Hansbrough getting more minutes. They haven't played much Frank Kaminsky at the five, but that might change out of desperation. Zeller finished with three points, two rebounds, one steal and one turnover.
Jan 20 - 10:08 PM

Cody Zeller headed to the Hornets' locker room on Wednesday with a right shoulder injury.

We're considering him questionable to return. Spencer Hawes and Frank Kaminsky will fill the void if Zeller is ruled out.
Jan 20 - 9:46 PM

Cody Zeller said he's been trying to exploit mismatches when playing center.

"A lot of times I'm undersized on the defensive end," he said. "But I have a quickness advantage on the other end. So I try to take the advantage I have and exploit it a little bit." Coach Steve Clifford called Zeller Charlotte's "most consistent player" on their recent West Coast trip, adding that he's been "assertive" and "an organizer" on defense. Nicolas Batum added that he has a "natural chemistry" with Zeller, who is averaging 10.4 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks on 52.3 percent shooting in 23 games as the starting center. Al Jefferson (knee) isn't expected back until mid-February at the earliest.
Jan 18 - 10:46 AM

Cody Zeller played just 23 minutes during Friday's loss to the Pelicans, tallying five points, eight boards, one assist and one turnover on 2-of-7 shooting.

Zeller had been playing very well up to this point, owning averages of 11.9 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game through the month of January. However, it's difficult to see him continuing to produce like this once Al Jefferson (knee surgery) is back in the lineup (he was playing just 20.5 minutes per game with Big Al healthy). Basically his value has an expiration tag, so selling high now makes sense.
Jan 15 - 11:10 PM

Hornets coach Steve Clifford praised Cody Zeller for his recent play.

"On the West Coast trip he was our most consistent player," Clifford said. "If you notice on defense, he's like Marvin Williams now. An organizer. Assertive. And he's finding more and more ways to use his quickness to get to the basket, which is obviously his biggest advantage." Zeller is excelling at center, and it makes you wonder why the Hornets spent so much time trying to turn him into a stretch four. The big man is worth owning in all standard leagues and is coming off a 19-point, 10-board performance vs. the Hawks with three blocks.
Jan 15 - 10:07 AM

Cody Zeller had another strong game on Wednesday, scoring 19 points on 6-of-10 FGs and 7-of-8 FTs, with 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks.

Zeller did his damage in 27 minutes vs. the Hawks, and he continues to be a welcome surprise for fantasy owners. He's posting mid-round value over the Hornets' past 10 games and shows no signs of slowing down with Al Jefferson (knee surgery) out until at least mid-February.
Jan 13 - 10:34 PM

Cody Zeller grabbed 13 boards against the Clippers on Saturday with six points and one block in 33 minutes.

He likes to settle in around the rim now that he's logging 100 percent of his minutes at center, but DeAndre Jordan was too tall of a task for him. Nobody in your league is going to be beating down your door to make a trade for Zeller, but he has fourth-round in his last 10 games. He should be owned in all leagues.
Jan 9 - 6:25 PM

Cody Zeller scored 13 points with 11 rebounds, three steals and one block in 34 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday.

He's playing well right now and is locked in with big minutes as the starting center. Zeller matched his season high in minutes and he logged his first double-double on the year. Surprisingly, Zeller has put up third-round value in his last 10 games, so make sure he's not on the wire. He won't be this good, though.
Jan 7 - 1:29 AM

Cody Zeller scored eight points with 10 rebounds, two steals and one block in 28 minutes during a 111-101 loss to the Warriors on Monday.

He's been really good in his last eight games, averaging 10.4 points, 7.8 boards, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks. Zeller has put up fourth-round value with those numbers, so he should be owned in standard leagues.
