Rudy Gobert hit 3-of-4 shots for six points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks in 35 minutes on Thursday night.
Despite a tough matchup, Gobert was able to hold his own under the glass, making it the 14th time this season he records double-digit rebounds. He has also blocked three or more shots in four straight games. His next game is against the Nuggets who he fared well against last season. Dec 2 - 12:52 AM

Rudy Gobert hit 5-of-7 shots and 6-of-8 free throws for 16 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks in Tuesday's win over Clint Capela and the Rockets.

Gobert, a dud last season after a bunch of hype, has it in cruise control right now, double-doubling in four straight games and averaging 15.3 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.3 blocks over his last four games. Denver's Nikola Jokic is this year's version of last season's Gobert, so there's still hope for Jokic. As for Gobert, just wind him up and turn him loose until further notice.
Nov 30 - 12:18 AM

Rudy Gobert was everywhere on Monday vs. the Wolves, scoring 16 points with 17 rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 34 minutes.

The Stifle Tower grabbed eight of his rebounds on the offensive glass and hit 5-of-10 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line. The Jazz are second in the NBA in defensive efficiency and Gobert is the main reason why. He's averaging 3.2 blocks per game over his last five and is pulling down 12.2 rebounds per game in that span. He'll be an early-round value the rest of the way if he keeps this up.
Nov 29 - 12:05 AM

Rudy Gobert double-doubled with 10 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots against the Hawks on Friday.

He added an assist and shot 2-of-2 from the field and 6-of-7 from the line, improving his free throw percentage to 64.3 percent on the season -- that would be a career-high if it holds. More importantly, the blocks were a season-high and Gobert limited Dwight Howard to four points and seven rebounds in the win. He's flirting with top-40 value in standard leagues and should be able to sustain it with Derrick Favors (knee) out indefinitely.
Nov 25 - 11:46 PM

Rudy Gobert scored a season-high 19 points against the Nuggets on Wednesday, adding 13 rebounds and two blocks in 32 minutes.

He's been playing some terrific ball on the offensive side, making 69.7 percent from the field in his last five. Also in that span, Gobert has averages of 11.8 points, 10.4 boards, 1.0 assists, 0.6 steals and 2.4 blocks. This is the Gobert we were expecting last year.
Nov 24 - 1:21 AM

Rudy Gobert was quiet in 26 minutes vs. Denver, posting six points, seven boards, two blocks and one assist.

Gobert picked up a questionable second foul early in the first half, which didn't help matters, but his early disappearing-act is nothing to worry about. Derrick Favors (knee) is out indefinitely which should only help the Stifle Tower, who came in averaging 14.0 points, 13.5 boards and 3.5 blocks in his previous two games.
Nov 21 - 12:30 AM

Rudy Gobert posted another nice stat line against the Rockets during a 111-102 loss on Saturday, scoring 12 points with 14 rebounds, one assist, two steals and four blocks.

Yes, this was against the Rockets, but Gobert is stringing good games together with ease these days. In his last eight games, Gobert has averaged 10.9 points, 10.3 boards, 1.1 steals and 2.8 blocks on 68.8 percent from the field and 70.0 percent from the line. Here he comes, everyone.
Nov 19 - 8:23 PM

Rudy Gobert double-doubled in 40 minutes against the Bulls on Thursday, scoring 16 points with 13 rebounds, one assist and three blocks.

He was 7-of-9 from the field and made both free throws for his team-high scoring. Gobert is shooting the ball better from the line lately, making 10-of-12 in his last three. He raved about how he's hit 25 straight multiple times in practice, so maybe he can get better there. The Stifle Tower is also 62.5 percent from the field on the year, so the offense is coming to go with his fourth-ranked blocks per game.
Nov 18 - 1:05 AM

Rudy Gobert scored 12 points with 12 rebounds, two blocks and two steals against Hassan Whiteside and the Heat on Saturday.

His role shouldn't change too much while Derrick Favors (knee) is on the bench. Gobert is starting to get it going in his last five, averaging 10.6 points, 10.0 boards, 2.8 blocks and 1.2 treys. We're starting to see 2014-15 post-break Rudy G again.
Nov 13 - 1:04 AM

Rudy Gobert scored 13 points with 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks in 34 minutes against the Magic on Friday.

He's just locking down the paint. The Jazz defense is almost impregnable in the paint and bigs continue to struggle against them. On the downside, Gobert talked up his free throw shooting, but he's just at 58.5 percent from the line on the year. He's still sitting at sixth-round value and should trend up once he gets better from the line.
Nov 12 - 12:06 AM

Rudy Gobert got things back on track during Sunday’s 114-109 win over the Knicks, notching 13 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and three blocks before fouling out in 33 minutes.

Gobert failed to block a single shot despite being on the floor for 29 minutes Friday night, but he was back to his elite shot blocking ways on Sunday. Even better, Gobert didn’t commit a single turnover and went 3-of-4 from the charity stripe. It’s often a struggle for him to score in the teens and his propensity to turnover the rock will limit his value, but he’ll again be a top-10 guy in blocks this year.
Nov 6 - 2:53 PM

Rudy Gobert slowed down on Friday vs. the Spurs with five points, eight rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes.

He was 2-of-2 from the field, but only hit 1-of-4 free throws and had a pair of turnovers. Gobert was hot in his first five games with averages of 10.2 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks, and he should bounce back in Sunday's game vs. the Knicks.
Nov 5 - 12:21 AM

Rudy Gobert said that he still has a lot of room to grow as a player.

"I've got a lot of room to grow," Gobert said. "I know I'm not the player I can be yet. I've got a lot of work to do. It all starts now." Gobert recently signed a four-year extension with Utah worth $102 million, and he's been solid through his first four games of the year with averages of 9.8 points, 12.0 boards, 1.8 assists, 2.0 blocks and 2.5 turnovers per contest on 50.0 percent shooting from the field and 75.0 percent shooting from the stripe. The scoring won't be there, and the turnovers are annoying, but the block totals are elite and it's encouraging to see the improvement at the stripe.

Nov 2 - 11:50 AM

Rudy Gobert and the Jazz are finalizing a four-year, $102 million contract extension.

Gobert is one of the most promising young centers in the game, combining with Derrick Favors to anchor Utah's impressive defense. With salary caps spiraling and a new CBA looming on the horizon, the Jazz did well to lock up Gobert through 2020.
Oct 31 - 4:39 PM

Rudy Gobert double-doubled vs. the Lakers on Friday with 13 points, 13 rebounds, one assist and four blocks in 32 minutes.

He was 4-of-9 from the field and 5-of-8 from the line, but this was a very encouraging performance. His minutes dipped from 40 in the opener to 32 tonight, but that was expected with Derrick Favors (knee) back in the mix. After going for 12 points with 14 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in his previous outing, it looks like the bounce back is legit.
