Rudy Gobert had a solid showing for Team France during Sunday's exhibition game vs. Ukraine, compiling 14 points and eight rebounds in just 14 minutes of action.
Gobert is going to be the starting center for Utah on opening night, and he has a very good chance of leading the league in blocks next season. He averaged 11.1 points, 13.4 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 2.6 blocks per game after the All-Star break during his 2014-15 campaign, and he'll likely cost you a second-round selection on draft day. Rudy Gobert now has a 9'9" standing reach.

Yeah, the NBA still uses 10-foot rims, so you can do the math there. Gobert is already one of the most intriguing players next season and he is a candidate to be drafted in the first round of fantasy drafts next season. The Stifle Tower could be great for a long, long time.
Jun 26 - 2:54 AM

Rudy Gobert said he is looking to improve his all-around game this offseason.

While Gobert made huge strides in his second NBA season, the 22-year-old said he's looking for even bigger things in 2015-16. "I need to make my team better defensively," Gobert said last week, as he sat on the bleachers at the Jazz's practice facility in Salt Lake City. "We need to win more games so people can see what we're doing." Gobert averaged 11.1 points, 13.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and 2.6 blocks while shooting 57.6 percent from the field after the All-Star Break and has positioned himself to be a solid early-round selection in fantasy drafts.
Jun 9 - 11:46 AM

Rudy Gobert said that he will spend time this offseason working to improve upon his post-game and he hopes to add some mid-range shooting to his repertoire.

"I'm more confident," Gobert said of his offensive game. "Really in the first season and early last season, I wasn't really trying anything offensively. Now I can really work on my game and try to show it on the floor." Gobert added he will spend time in Germany this summer working with Dirk Nowitzki's legendary shooting coach Holger Geschwindner. The sky's the limit for Gobert, and he'll be a fine early-round selection in next year's drafts.
Jun 7 - 3:59 PM

Jazz head coach Quin Snyder said that he loves Rudy Gobert's competitiveness and that he is excited to see him continue to improve.

"The thing you get excited about with Rudy, in addition to his intelligence and his physical gifts, is his competitiveness," Snyder said. "He'll improve. It's a little bit like our team. … Rudy's got time. It's a matter of getting a foundation and taking one step at a time. You saw what he did with his free throws last year. You saw what he did with his passing. His body's going to get better. Rudy's got so many areas where he's capable of improving that it's exciting. But it's hard to do them all at once. I don't want him to get ahead of himself." Gobert thrived in the starting unit this season with averages of 10.6 points, 12.4 boards and 2.8 blocks, and it's scary to think about what he can do with another summer of work under his belt. If you want Gobert on your fantasy team next season, it will probably cost you a second round pick.
Jun 7 - 12:26 PM

Rudy Gobert said that he will spend time this offseason working on his offensive game such as post moves and a mid-range jumper.

Gobert was absolutely phenomenal this season after being thrust into the starting unit following the Enes Kanter trade, and he posted averages of 10.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, and a whopping 2.8 blocks per game with the starting unit. Gobert added that his mid-range jumper is on point, and now it's just about taking them in games. He also said that while he will not be participating in Summer League, he will play international ball over the summer (Euro championships and Olympic qualifying). He's going to be an early-round selection next season.
Apr 16 - 6:44 PM

Rudy Gobert played 24 minutes against the Rockets on Wednesday with eight points, eight boards, one steal and three blocks.

He had such a great season and is in the running for Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player. Gobert is arguably the best rim protector in the NBA thanks to keeping his man 11.9 percent below his season average on field goal percentage this season (shots less than 10 feet). He's a decent bet to lead the NBA in rebounds and blocks next season, which makes him a second-round target. Plus, playing in 82 games this year is big time.
Apr 15 - 11:44 PM

Rudy Gobert tied a career-high with 20 points on 9-of-16 shooting, 17 rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks in the Jazz's 109-92 win over the Mavs on Monday.

Gobert already has go-go-Gadget arms and legs but when he can also get a bunch of offensive touches he's a fantasy force to be reckoned with.
Apr 14 - 4:26 AM

Rudy Gobert was solid again on Saturday vs. the Blazers, recording six points, 11 boards, one assist, two steals and two blocks in 35 minutes.

Gobert's owners have to be relieved that the Jazz didn't rest him like they did with Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors tonight, and he should be locked into all lineups for the remainder of the season. Gobert should be in the running for the Most Improved Player Award, and it looks like he is going to be an elite asset in fantasy leagues for many years to come.
Apr 12 - 12:59 AM

Rudy Gobert had 12 points, 10 rebounds, a steal and two blocks on Wednesday.

The Jazz have been fickle and annoying with the minutes of Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward lately, but Gobert is young enough that he might be immune to any benchings. The Jazz have nothing to play for, but we trust Gobert's minutes a lot more than those of Favors and Hayward right now.
Apr 9 - 12:15 AM

Rudy Gobert grabbed 15 boards against the Suns during an 87-85 loss on Saturday, adding eight points, two rebounds, one steal and one block in 38 minutes.

He turned the ball over five times tonight and made just 2-of-5 from the field. Brandan Wright's length matched up nicely for Phoenix against Gobert tonight and Rudy didn't score at all in the first half. Obviously, Gobert is still a massive stud in fantasy and he should be going off the board in the second round next year.
Apr 5 - 2:34 AM

Rudy Gobert was an animal in a 94-89 win over the Thunder on Saturday, scoring 13 points with 15 boards, one assist, four blocks and three steals in 41 minutes.

It was just another day at the office for Gobert and it had to feel good for him to snag the win against Enes Kanter because of his comments prior to the game. Gobert has now double-doubled in each of his last four games, and he will continue to carry a little more weight on offense if Derrick Favors (back) is forced to miss any more time.
Mar 28 - 11:54 PM

Rudy Gobert double-doubled with 14 points, 14 boards, three assists and one block over 35 minutes in Friday's loss to the Nuggets.

Gobert's defensive numbers have been down lately and it's fair to wonder whether an ankle tweak and rough fall from the past week or two has done to his aggressiveness. The entire Jazz team looked a bit lethargic tonight, and they've likely exerted a ton of energy on their recent hot streak. We're not worried about Gobert right now, but if the trend continues we'll know where to trace it back to.
Mar 28 - 2:43 AM

Rudy Gobert had 12 points and 10 boards on Wednesday, but didn't block a shot in a loss to the Blazers.

Gobert blocked multiple shots in 10 of his 11 February games (and had one in the other), and has played just three games without a block since January. Unfortunately, two of them have come in his last three outings. The six blocks he had on Monday help offset the two goose eggs, and there's no reason he won't block a bunch on Friday against the Nuggets.
Mar 26 - 2:35 AM

Rudy Gobert was dominant as usual with 18 points, 17 rebounds, one steal and six blocks in the Jazz's 106-104 overtime loss to the Wolves on Monday.

Gobert took a hard fall and laid in pain for a few seconds before popping up and staying in the game. Unless we hear something from the Jazz there's nothing to worry about for owners. Hopefully you bought the hype.
