Archie Goodwin made another fill-in start for the Suns on Tuesday, finishing a loss to the visiting Clippers with 18 points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes.
Goodwin shot 6-of-11 from the field and the only negatives were 4-of-7 free throws and a game-high five turnovers. His upside may be capped if both Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight are healthy for Phoenix in 2015-16, but Goodwin has at least emerged as a legitimate 'watch' candidate heading into next year's fantasy drafts -- especially if Knight goes elsewhere as a restricted free agent. Archie Goodwin was a last-second fill-in with the Suns' starting unit on Sunday, posting 11 points with four rebounds and one block in 29 minutes.

The bad news is that he shot 5-of-15 without any 3-pointers, assists or steals, and he turned the ball over three times. The Suns were forced to go small with both Alex Len (ankle) and Brandon Wright (foot) out of commission, and Goodwin would be an intriguing spot-starter if Phoenix goes small again on Tuesday. Stay tuned.
Apr 12 - 9:59 PM

Archie Goodwin played well off the bench in his 26 minutes against the Kings with 15 points, one rebound, three assists, two steals and one turnover.

His 15 points were a season high and his four best total of his career -- he scored 29 in the season finale last season. Brandon Knight (ankle) is getting close to a return, so it's hard to add Goodwin right now. He's still been very impressive in the past couple weeks.
Mar 26 - 2:56 AM

Archie Goodwin played 15 minutes off the bench against the Pelicans on Thursday with 10 points, one rebound and one turnover.

He didn't have a bad game, but the Suns went with a bigger lineup to attack a weakness of the Pelicans. Goodwin doesn't have a high upside to begin with, so he's only a low-end add in deep leagues. T.J. Warren scored six points with three rebounds in 18 minutes.
Mar 20 - 12:38 AM

Coach Jeff Hornacek said he likes Archie Goodwin's defense and his ability to get to the basket on offense.

"If you're not killing us defensively, it's easier to keep you in there," Hornacek said. "As the years go on and he gets stronger and stronger, he's just going to be blowing through those guys and laying it in or dunking it. His aggressiveness put them on their heels." Goodwin is now getting minutes as a combo guard and played the entire fourth quarter against the Knicks on Sunday, finishing with seven points, four boards, five dimes and three steals in 23 minutes. He's not worth a grab in standard leagues yet, but he is negating T.J. Warren a bit. Marcus Morris is safe and should be owned in all standard leagues.
Mar 18 - 2:21 PM

Archie Goodwin will likely get the first crack at the backup point guard minutes with the Suns while Brandon Knight (ankle) is out.

There's a good chance he's strictly going to be Eric Bledsoe's backup, which means Goodwin is looking at around 10-14 minutes tonight based on how much Bledsoe is playing right now. Goodwin isn't much of a passer and he's made just 25.7 percent of his jump shots this season. He's only worth a look in very deep leagues. Expect T.J. Warren to get most of the bench minutes on the wings behind Marcus Morris and P.J. Tucker tonight.
Mar 11 - 3:10 PM

Archie Goodwin picked up a DNP-CD on Thursday.

Shockingly, coach Jeff Hornacek tightened up his rotation. The Suns may have already seen all they needed to, so Goodwin could be done for now. We'll see you in Summer League, Archie.
Feb 27 - 3:12 AM

Archie Goodwin played just six minutes against the Nuggets on Wednesday with one point and one rebound.

Coach Jeff Hornacek is in mad-scientist mode with his rotation right now and gave the minutes to T.J. Warren tonight. Goodwin still can't shoot and his defensive numbers have really fallen off, so he can be kept on the wire in just about all leagues.
Feb 26 - 1:34 AM

Coach Jeff Hornacek said Archie Goodwin's recent play has given him confidence to play more.

Based on that comment, we might not see much Gerald Green tonight. Goodwin has really played well in the D-League on the season and he's played double-digit minutes in each of his last two. He's only worth a look in deep leagues.
Feb 23 - 7:30 PM

Archie Goodwin played 17 minutes against the Bulls on Saturday with 12 points, one rebound and one assist.

He played a little more than expected with Brandon Knight in the mix. Gerald Green has really come out flat to start the second half, which explains the uptick for Goodwin. He was awesome in the D-League showcase and has been a fun guy to watch at Summer League, but he probably won't play this much.
Feb 21 - 11:09 PM

Archie Goodwin and Reggie Bullock have been sent down for a stint in the NBA D-League.

Neither player will likely crack the rotation in Phoenix as long as they remain competitive in the loaded Western Conference, so it's safe to leave Bullock and Goodwin on the wire in almost all leagues.
Feb 8 - 9:50 AM

Archie Goodwin and Reggie Bullock have both been sent down for a D-League stint.

Neither Goodwin, nor Bullock are major components of the Suns' rotation, so there aren't any fantasy implications with this news. They belong on the waiver wire in nearly all leagues.
Jan 29 - 3:24 PM

Archie Goodwin's agent, Charles Briscoe, confirmed that Goodwin does not want to be traded from the Suns.

"Archie doesn’t want out of Phoenix," Briscoe said. "His words have been twisted in a recent article. We’re willing to wait for Archie’s opportunity. Any player in the NBA wants to play immediately, but we understand that Phoenix is in a playoff push. If we have to wait for next year, we’re OK with that. We know he will get his opportunity, and he’ll be ready." Goodwin has a long way to go before being a consistent part of the Suns' rotation, so unless he is traded to an ideal situation he can continue to be ignored in almost all fantasy leagues.

Jan 22 - 4:11 PM

The Phoenix Suns have assigned G Archie Goodwin to the D-League.

This move comes as no surprise as Goodwin has logged just 11 minutes in the Sun's last 16 games. The Suns will attempt to get the second-year player more game experience with the Bakersfield Jam, but fantasy owners can feel free to move on as Goodwin will be hard-pressed to crack the Suns' rotation this year.

Jan 15 - 9:55 AM

Suns G Archie Goodwin scored 12 points in nine minutes of garbage time on Sunday, hitting 3-of-4 FGs and 6-of-7 FTs with one assist and one block.

If you missed Goodwin's massive dunk over Jonas Valanciunas, do yourself a favor and follow the link below. He scored 29 points in the final game of the 2013-14 season and is capable of some explosive offensive performances, but won't get many opportunities this season in a backcourt with Eric Bledsoe, Goran Dragic, Isaiah Thomas and Gerald Green. Look elsewhere for a deep sleeper with rest-of-season potential.
