Jeff Withey and Trey Lyles will start against the Lakers on Wednesday.
Both Derrick Favors (rest) and Rudy Gobert (ankle) are out, and sadly so are the Jazz for the postseason. There should be a ton of Lyles tonight, so he might have a huge night. Apr 13 - 9:51 PM

Jeff Withey returned to the bench for Saturday's game vs. the Heat, scoring eight points with three boards, one assist and one block in 20 minutes.

Rudy Gobert rejoined the starting lineup and played 28 minutes, and his workload is only going to increase moving forward. There's a small chance that the Jazz may limit Gobert on Sunday vs. the Lakers since it's the second night of a back-to-back set, but Withey's owners should start evaluating other options.
Jan 10 - 12:02 AM

Jeff Withey will come off the bench on Saturday vs. the Heat.

Rudy Gobert will rejoin the starting lineup, so this change was inevitable. Withey played admirably in the Stifle Tower's absence, but his owners in standard formats should be prepared to move on.
Jan 9 - 7:43 PM

Jeff Withey played 17 minutes off the bench on Thursday against the Rockets with eight points, four boards, one assist and two blocks.

He had a fairly nice run and was better than expected. With Rudy Gobert back in action, Withey will go back to being a bench big man. If you added him, it's probably time to let him loose.
Jan 7 - 11:49 PM

Jeff Withey nearly double-doubled on Monday vs. the Rockets, scoring eight points on 2-of-8 shooting with 11 boards, three steals and three blocks in 35 minutes.

Derrick Favors has missed six games in a row due to back spasms, and it sounds like he could miss more time because he didn't even warm up on Monday. The Jazz have four more games on the schedule this week, so Withey is worth an add if you need a big. He is averaging 10.8 points, 9.0 boards, 3.0 blocks and 1.6 steals over his last five games.
Jan 5 - 12:37 AM

Jeff Withey recorded a double-double in Saturday's win over the Grizzlies, finishing with 12 points, 10 boards, two assists, one steal and four blocks in 32 minutes.

Derrick Favors has missed the last five games due to back spasms, and Withey has been a serviceable big in that span with averages of 10.4 points, 8.2 boards, 1.0 assists, 2.8 blocks and 1.2 steals in 27.8 minutes per game. Favors is day-to-day, but Withey is worth a look if you need short-term value. The Jazz play five times next week.
Jan 3 - 12:39 AM

Jeff Withey double-doubled in Monday's win over the 76ers, scoring 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting with 12 boards, one assist, two steals and two blocks in 24 minutes.

First things first, there is no reason to overreact to this line considering he was playing against the worst team in the league. Derrick Favors is day-to-day due to back spasms, so Withey is only worth a look in deeper leagues if Favors has to miss any additional time.
Tue, Dec 29, 2015 02:10:00 AM

Jeff Withey scored six points with seven boards and two blocks in 19 minutes in a start at center on Saturday vs. the Clippers.

Derrick Favors missed this one due to back spasms, but there is no reason to believe that this will be a long-term issue. Unless Favors needs to miss more time, Withey can be left on the wire.

Jeff Withey will start on Saturday vs. the Clippers.

Derrick Favors is out due to back spasms, so Withey is nothing more than just a short-term option for owners in need of boards and blocks.

Jeff Withey provided a sliver of light for the Jazz on Wednesday, coming off the bench for nine points, four boards, two assists and one steal in just 13 minutes of action.

Utah lost by 18 points but they were +3 with Withey on the court tonight. The third-year center isn't earning enough minutes for fantasy relevance even with Rudy Gobert out of commission, which tells you all you need to know about his rest-of-season outlook.
Thu, Dec 24, 2015 01:54:00 AM

Jeff Withey will return to the bench for Friday's game against the Nuggets.

Withey failed to do much at all as a starter on Wednesday, putting up four points, three boards, a block and a steal in 17 minutes, and he'll likely be closer to 10 minutes tonight. Withey is not an option in any league. Trey Lyles will start, but he also belongs on the waiver wire.
Fri, Dec 18, 2015 08:23:00 PM

Jeff Withey scored four points in 17 minutes during his first start of the season on Wednesday, adding three rebounds, one steal and one block.

The Jazz really, really miss Rudy Gobert (knee). Since he went down on Dec. 2, only the Wolves have a worse defensive rating than the Jazz do. Needless to say, they need him back ASAP. Leave Withey on the wire.
Thu, Dec 17, 2015 02:44:00 AM

Jeff Withey will start at center for the Jazz on Wednesday, with Trey Lyles shifting to the bench.

He's averaging 6.3 points on 78.6 percent shooting in his past four games, with 4.8 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in just 15.5 minutes per game. Check back after the game to see how he fares as a newly-minted starter.
Wed, Dec 16, 2015 08:28:00 PM

Jazz head coach Quin Snyder said that he's considered starting Jeff Withey with Rudy Gobert (knee) sidelined.

The starting lineup for Utah has yet to be determined for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, and it'll be interesting to see if Snyder decides to make the switch tonight. Trey Lyles would be the guy to head to the bench if Withey starts, and Withey would be someone to consider as a punt play in DFS if he does indeed draw the start. Check back for another update closer to tip-off.

Jeff Withey played well in 20 minutes off the Jazz bench on Wednesday, scoring eight points and grabbing nine rebounds, with two assists and one block.

He shot 4-of-5 from the field and the only negative was his three turnovers, but it's important to note that he did this in extended minutes during a blowout. There's nothing to see here outside of the deepest leagues.
