Giannis Antetokounmpo is dealing with an illness on Friday.
He's not going to attend the pizza event in Milwaukee because of the illness. He has a few days to get well before the opener and should be ready to go. Antetokounmpo isn't going to be the "point guard" on the roster, but he'll be running the offense. His upside is massive. Oct 21 - 5:01 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a preseason high 21 points vs. the Pistons on Monday, adding six boards, four assists, one trey and five turnovers in 33 minutes.

After a slow start to the preseason, Giannis finally looks like he's worth all the hype. He finished 7-of-11 from the field and 6-of-7 from the line, and added his second 3-pointer through five games. He needs to reel in the turnovers, but Giannis is still locked and loaded as a mid-first round pick in standard leagues.

Matthew Dellavedova, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, Mirza Teletovic and Miles Plumlee are the expected starters vs. the Pistons on Tuesday.

Interesting. Malcolm Brogdon was the listed starter, but Teletovic was running with the starters during warmups. The Bucks really need Teletovic's floor spacing this season, so he's a sneaky late-round pick for his upside in treys. Giannis should be busy tonight and could see an uptick in assists with Teletovic on the floor.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 14 points with six rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks on Saturday.

With Michael Carter-Williams likely heading to Chicago, it looks like we'll be seeing more of P-Giannis. He's not having the strongest preseason with only a 61.9 free throw percentage and making just 33.3 percent on his jumpers. Whatever the case, Antetokounmpo is still locked and loaded as a mid-first pick in standard leagues.

Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to win a championship in Milwaukee.

Alphabet said he thinks the Bucks have the pieces to build a championship roster and hopes to win (and stay) in Milwaukee for a long time. "I’ve become very attached to Milwaukee," Antetokounmpo said. "The thought that I might not win a championship in my career doesn’t even exist in my mind. I will win at some point! I will do everything to win a championship." The 21-year-old is a triple-double threat on any given night and is worth a first-round pick due to his ability to fill up the stat sheet.
Oct 13 - 9:20 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo notched 20 points, six assists, five rebounds, one block and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes during the Bucks' 101-83 loss on Wednesday.

Giannis will be a triple-double threat every time he takes the court this season, so get used to these stat-stuffing lines. The absence of Khris Middleton puts even more pressure on Antetokounmpo as the team's de facto leading scorer and point guard, so his usage rate figures to be limitless.
Oct 12 - 10:21 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 12 points during a 93-91 victory in Chicago on Monday, adding one rebound, two assists, one steal and two turnovers in 24 minutes.

His offensive arsenal just keeps growing. Antetokounmpo's length makes him almost impossible to guard on an island, so teams will bring a ton of doubles to him. He's probably a good bet to finish second in triple-doubles this season behind Russell Westbrook, and he could improve on his seven dimes per game after the break. Antetokounmpo is worth a pick in the middle of the first round for his sky-high ceiling in huge minutes.
Oct 3 - 11:03 PM

Coach Jason Kidd said he hopes to keep Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker in 20-minute range on Monday.

It sounds like they'll get most of their action in the first half and maybe another stint in the second half. The Bucks aren't starting a traditional "point guard" and Antetokounmpo has worked with John Stockton, so he might be putting on a show tonight.
Oct 3 - 7:04 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo's new four-year, $100 million deal does not include any options and is not a max deal, sources told ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

Bucks GM John Hammond revealed that a max deal for Giannis was discussed both "internally and externally," but at the end of the day it sounds like The Greek Freak was willing to take a little less in order to provide Milwaukee a chance at (eventually) building a championship-caliber roster. If you want the walking triple-double threat on your fantasy team, you'll need to take him with your first selection. For what it's worth, Giannis said he "can't imagine being somewhere else" and wants to stay in Milwaukee for "20 years."
Sep 24 - 3:35 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension.

It's a no-brainer for the Bucks as Giannis is one of the most promising young players in the NBA and he's an excellent fit next to Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker. Antetokounmpo thrived when coach Jason Kidd handed him the keys to the offense last season and he posted averages of 18.8 points, 8.6 boards, 7.2 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.4 steals after the All-Star break. If you want the triple-double threat on your fantasy team, the price will be a first-round pick. The deal will be official on Tuesday.
Sep 19 - 2:00 PM

Bucks GM John Hammond said that Giannis Antetokounmpo will be "one of the [Bucks'] primary ball-handlers" this season, but he's unlikely to defend opposing point guards.

"There's a delicate balance," Hammond said. "Someone's gotta guard the point guard, and that's not gonna be Giannis." He went on to praise Michael Carter-Williams' defense, citing his length, speed and quickness, but all signs point to MCW coming off the bench to begin the season. No matter who he's guarding on the court, Antetokounmpo is poised for a monster fantasy campaign.

Greece coach Fotis Gatsikaris said Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the focal point for the Greek national team this summer.

"At this point we can afford to give him more responsibilities than anyone else, having the ball in his hands," Gatsikaris said. "We will build around him. Giannis will be the one who will take decisions on the court for us". He should be in a similar role for the Bucks next year, so this summer will give us a nice preview.

Jun 13 - 4:29 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo announced he will play for Greece in the FIBA Olympic qualifying round.

The Bucks may not be in favor of this move as they try to tweak his game to become more of a ball-handler. If Greece can make it to Brazil, Antetokounmpo could be playing international ball in July and August. Basketball fans won't complain with more Green Freak action this summer.
Jun 9 - 10:01 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo is reportedly unlikely to play for Greece this summer.

Despite The Greek Freak voicing his desire to play for the national team, the Bucks would reportedly like him to work on his new role (point guard) and assuming the responsibilities that come along with being a franchise player instead. It's easy to see Milwaukee's point of view on the matter, and continued skill development is only going to help raise Antetokounmpo's massive fantasy ceiling higher.

Jun 6 - 9:55 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo is hopeful to play for Greece this summer.

"I want to play for the national team," he said. "The Bucks know it. We have not talked yet for this matter. Even if they are negative, I would try to convince them to let me play". Milwaukee will likely want their franchise building block to rest this summer in order to prepare for the workload coming his way next season, but it sounds like he's intent on being allowed to play.
