Giannis Antetokounmpo missed all seven shots from the field in an otherwise stat-stuffing Wednesday game, adding one point at the line, five rebounds, three assists, four steals, three blocks and eight turnovers in 25 minutes.
The eight turnovers are brutal, but he really filled it up tonight. This is basically a microcosm of Antetokounmpo's outlook: Giannis can't shoot very well, is careless when handling the ball, but he has a serious shot to be a 1.5 triple, steal and block guy. If you want him, it'll probably cost you a pick in the 80-100 range. Oct 22 - 10:55 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 19 points on 6-of-13 shooting with nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 31 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Wolves.

The key to Alphabet's fantasy value is going to be improving his offensive output, because we can be relatively certain that the defensive numbers will be there. A number of key teammates were out tonight, but the issue isn't so much with them as it is getting Giannis to be aggressive with the rock. Tonight he was exactly that.

The Bucks have picked up the third-year option on Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The move is not surprising as Antetokounmpo is one of the Bucks' most promising young players. He has been playing both backcourt spots this preseason, including multiple games at point guard. He will be an intriguing fantasy play this upcoming season with the potential to contribute to multiple categories across the board.

Giannis Antetokounmpo started at point guard on Tuesday, but the results were fairly horrible.

He didn't do much of anything at PG and finished the night with four points, four rebounds and zero assists on 0-of-5 shooting in 23 minutes. He did have a block, but the experiment of starting him at point guard could be a short one after this performance. He's going to struggle with inconsistency, especially if Jason Kidd can't come up with a defined role for him, but he's also got all the tools and is one of the most intriguing young players in the NBA.

Giannis Antetokounmpo will start at point guard for Tuesday's preseason game vs. Cleveland.

This will be Giannis' first time starting at the point guard position and it'll be interesting to see how he fares. Jason Kidd has been hinting at this for some time now, and the Greek Freak certainly has a lot of potential. Giannis looks like a solid selection in the 100-130 range on draft day.
Oct 13 - 2:24 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo came off the bench for 11 points, six rebounds, an assist, steal and two blocks in 27 minutes on Saturday.

He hit 5-of-8 shots and if he can ever crack the starting lineup for Milwaukee, he's going to be a beast. Even if coming off the bench, he's still going to have nice fantasy value, but we're hesitant about taking him too early, given his uncertain role in the offense. Any time around pick 100-130 sounds about right for the Greek Freak.
Oct 12 - 12:12 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo played 21 minutes in the starting lineup against the Pistons on Thursday with six points, seven boards and one turnover.

He shot 3-of-6 from the field and was a bit more comfortable on the offensive end than in the opener. Antetokounmpo did hurt his tailbone in this game, but he returned and looks to be fine. It's unknown what his role will be, but his multiple-category upside makes him a risk-reward pick in the late-middle rounds.
Oct 9 - 10:36 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo came off the bench to hit 2-of-8 shots, but also added eight points, five rebounds, five assists and a block in 28 minutes.

O.J. Mayo sat this one out so it's a little disappointing that he didn't start at shooting guard. But he filled the stat sheet and should get solid minutes in Milwaukee whether coming off the bench or starting. He's a top sleeper pick in the middle rounds this season.
Oct 9 - 12:56 AM

Coach Jason Kidd said Gary Payton will not mentor Giannis Antetokounmpo.

"Gary at some point might come in and talk, but we're not going to hire him," Kidd said. Antetokounmpo said in a previous interview he is likely going to play small forward and point guard, so his role is still unclear. It's also worth mentioning he didn't say anything about shooting guard, so that position is murky, as well. Antetokounmpo is a high-risk, high-reward pick late in fantasy drafts.

Giannis Antetokounmpo said that he was not "shocked" about the possibility of seeing minutes at point guard for the Bucks next season.

"It’s something that I feel comfortable with and I’ll play wherever Coach wants me to play, " he said. The Greek Freak also mentioned that the endorsement from his new head coach and future hall-of-fame point guard Jason Kidd has only helped his confidence. "When it’s Coach Kidd who thinks that I can play point guard. That makes me feel like, ‘I can play it. I can play point guard.’ I’m going to try my best and just listen to Coach." Antetokounmpo played some point in the Summer League with mixed results. At 6'11" he could be one of the most versatile players in the NBA next season.
Sep 25 - 2:32 PM

Gary Payton will be a special advisor for Giannis Antetokounmpo this season.

The Bucks seem to be legitimately considering Antetokounmpo as a point guard. Payton will join the Bucks for training camp and the 19-year old's coach, Jason Kidd, should also help him. That said, he was extremely turnover prone in Las Vegas, so he still has some work to do. He's a high-upside pick to take late in fantasy drafts.

Giannis Antetokounmpo didn't do much as Greece was eliminated from the World Cup by Serbia, tallying seven points on 3-of-3 shooting to go with four assists, two rebounds, and a block.

Giannis has a lot of potential, but has struggled with consistency. He's now averaging 6.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 0.8 steals through five games of tournament play. It'll be interesting to see how the position battle between Giannis and O.J. Mayo plays out over training camp and preseason, but obviously the Greek Freak's value would be better if he lands the starting job. He's worth a late-round flier in standard leagues.
Sep 7 - 1:56 PM

Coach Jason Kidd said Giannis Antetokounmpo has been doing well for the Greek national team.

"He is filling up the stat sheet," Kidd said. Back in Las Vegas, Kidd said he may give Antetokoumpo some minutes at point guard, which became one of the biggest stories of summer league. Although, the Greek Freak didn't fare too well as a ball-handler, so he has a long way to go.
Sep 6 - 9:20 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo went scoreless in Greece's 79-71 win over Argentina on Thursday.

In only 12 minutes of action the Greek Freak only took two shots, missing them both. He added six rebounds and one block to what was a very forgettable evening. Antetokounmpo had been playing well in the World Cup up until this point, so hopefully this is merely an outlier.
Sep 4 - 5:48 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 15 points vs. Puerto Rico in Monday's win, adding three rebounds, one steal and one turnover in 23 minutes.

He continues to get to the line and made 5-of-7 from there today to go with 5-of-8 on two-pointers and missing all three from beyond the arc. As expected, Antetokounmpo has been up and down in the tournament, but we should get to see plenty more of him with the Greek's 3-0 record so far. He's a high-upside gamble late in fantasy drafts.
