Giannis Antetokounmpo is hopeful to play for Greece this summer.
"I want to play for the national team," he said. "The Bucks know it. We have not talked yet for this matter. Even if they are negative, I would try to convince them to let me play". Milwaukee will likely want their franchise building block to rest this summer in order to prepare for the workload coming his way next season, but it sounds like he's intent on being allowed to play. Bucks coach Jason Kidd said that it's possible that Giannis Antetokounmpo could eventually average a triple-double over the course of a season.

"Is there a player that could do it? [Russell] Westbrook is probably one. Giannis is probably right there in that same conversation," Kidd said. "As he gets older and starts to dissect the game better, you can't rule him out." Antetokounmpo averaged 18.8 points, 8.6 boards, 7.2 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.4 steals after the All-Star break, and it's scary to think about how good he can be considering he's just 21 years old. He has no ceiling.
Apr 22 - 12:15 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to focus on improving his 3-point shot this summer.

"They're not going to guard me yet out there," Antetokounmpo said. "Even if I start knocking them down, they're still not going to guard me out there. So I've got time and space. Try to set my feet and knock it down." He shot 25.7 percent from deep during the 2015-16 season, but he progressed down the stretch and hit 45.5 percent in April. That's obviously not a realistic expectation for next season, but Antetokounmpo should continue to improve from deep and is shaping up to be a first-round target in standard leagues for the foreseeable future.
Apr 17 - 10:26 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 19 points with nine rebounds, five assists, one block and one 3-pointer during a 97-92 loss to the Pacers on Wednesday.

Get ready for a lot of "Giannis is working on his 3-pointers" and "Giannis is working on his ball-handling" updates this summer. He'll likely be starting at point guard after the experiment went swimmingly in the past month. Antetokounmpo is shaping up to be a first-round target in standard leagues next season.
Apr 14 - 12:22 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo made 5-of-7 from the field for 11 points with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal, three blocks, five turnovers and one 3-pointer.

It was one of his worst offensive games and the first time he's had fewer than 12 shot from the field this month. Antetokounmpo continues to bring the ball up a lot for the Bucks with his 8.4 dimes per game in his previous games this month. He should be good to go for Wednesday in the home finale this season.
Apr 11 - 9:28 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo shot just 4-of-15 from the field on Sunday, but he still finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, five blocks, three steals and one 3-pointer.

The Greek Freak is cruising to a strong finish this season, averaging career highs in points (17.0), rebounds (7.6), assists (4.3), steals (1.2) and blocks (1.4), and his assists have spiked to 8.8 per game in April. He'll be the Bucks' primary playmaker next season and Jason Kidd is even telling him to bomb away from downtown. "The three-pointer is becoming more important than layups," Kidd said. "[Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton] are going to continue to shoot more threes. We're encouraging that." His fantasy ceiling is unknown.
Apr 10 - 8:08 PM

Bucks coach Jason Kidd is encouraging Giannis Antetokounmpo to shoot more 3-pointers.

"Coach told me when I'm open shoot it," Antetokounmpo said. "I'm just trying to work, knowing there are days when I am going to make them [and] there are going to be days where I'm not. I've just got to stay confident and believe in myself and keep shooting them because that's the only way I'm going to get better." Antetokounmpo had a career-high four 3-pointers on Friday while finishing with 27 points, seven boards, seven assists, one steal and one block, and he's quickly shaping up to be a first-round pick in fantasy next season.
Apr 9 - 10:42 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a game-high 27 points during Friday's 124-109 blowout loss to the Celtics, adding seven boards, seven assists, one steal, one block, five turnovers and a career-high four 3-pointers.

Giannis had the hot hand early, scoring 17 of his 27 points during the first quarter alone, which set a career-high for most points scored in a quarter. Giannis made the jump from an eighth-round asset last season, to third-round status this year, and he’s climbed all the way to a top-15 evaluation since the break. This was also just the second time in his career that he has hit multiple triples in back-to-back games, and if he can develop that 3-point shot this offseason, he could easily emerge as a first-round stud next year.
Apr 8 - 10:30 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 22 points, 14 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 39 minutes on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to avoid a loss to the visiting Cavs.

Giannis continues to shine for fantasy owners, but the Bucks really missed Khris Middleton (thigh) tonight. Antetokounmpo shot 10-of-18 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers and no free throw attempts, just the seventh time this season that he's failed to get to the line. Milwaukee has lost seven of their past nine games, but it's safe to assume Giannis' fantasy owners are having more success.
Apr 5 - 11:02 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo made 14-of-22 shots en route to a career-high 34 points on Sunday, adding nine assists, five rebounds, one steal and one block in a loss to the visiting Bulls.

Giannis had 16 points in the first quarter alone, but he got minimal help from his teammates -- the rest of the Bucks combined to shoot 41.3 percent from the field. The Greek Freak almost single-handedly lifted the Bucks to a comeback win tonight and he's morphed into a complete fantasy stud since Jason Kidd handed him the reins of the offense. Expect to spend a first-round pick to acquire him next season.
Apr 3 - 9:49 PM

Jason Kidd would like Giannis Antetokounmpo to improve his conditioning heading into next season.

"His conditioning mentally and physically has to get better," Kidd said, "because that's the first thing they [opponents] are going to try to do, wear him down." For his part, Antetokounmpo is motivated to improve his game, saying he appreciates Kidd's trust and wants to improve his jump shot, ballhandling, passing ability and strength. Additionally, The Greek Freak is embracing his leadership role. "I want to come back and try to be more vocal, become the leader of this team," he said, "and push this team as far as we can go." He'll be a first-round pick with upside in fantasy drafts for the 2016-17 campaign.

Apr 2 - 1:56 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped his fifth triple-double of the season during a 113-110 win over the Magic on Friday, scoring 18 points with 11 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and three blocks.

He's still just 21 years old and Magic Johnson is the only player to have more than five triple-doubles in a season under age 22. Coach Jason Kidd said Antetokounmpo's triple-doubles are "old news now" and he's right. Antetokounmpo is the Bucks offense and he's solidified himself as a first-round target for drafts next season and the Bucks' point guard of the future.
Apr 1 - 11:44 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo finished Wednesday's win vs. Phoenix with 10 points (3-of-5 FGs, 3-of-8 FTs), six assists, three rebounds, one block and two turnovers.

Giannis did his damage in 32 minutes and he was very selective offensively, picking his spots against a Suns defense that's been a liability all season. His defensive versatility is amazing to behold, though it does have limits -- he struggled to check Tyson Chandler tonight, and Jason Kidd said that he rarely uses Antetokounmpo against PGs until the end of games. No matter whom he's defending, he's an elite asset.
Mar 30 - 11:20 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the Bucks starting point guard for the 2016-17 season, according to head coach Jason Kidd.

Point Giannis has been a revelation since Kidd assigned him ball-handling duties and Antetokounmpo is now averaging 19.8 points, 7.8 assists, 7.8 boards, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game during the month of March. This is obviously fantastic news for Antetokounmpo's fantasy prospects and all but assures he'll be an early selection in 2016-17 fantasy drafts.
Mar 29 - 1:52 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo was quiet vs. the Hornets on Saturday with eight points, three boards, one assist and two steals.

He was just 3-of-9 from the field and only played 26 minutes because the Bucks were blown out. This was his second sub-par game in a row, but he's still been one of the hottest players in the NBA during March, averaging 19.8 points, 7.8 assists, 7.8 boards, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals in his previous 13 games. Antetokounmpo should be much better vs. the Suns on Wednesday.
