Isaiah Canaan scored 14 points on 3-of-10 shooting in Monday's loss to the Wolves with three boards, three assists, one block, one steal and three 3-pointers.
Nik Stauskas left the game with a knee injury and will have an MRI on Tuesday, so Canaan could be looking at an increased role going forward. He is a very streaky shooter and struggles with consistency, so he's better suited for deeper leagues. Nov 23 - 11:48 PM

Isaiah Canaan scored 22 points against the Heat on Saturday with two assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 28 minutes.

He was hurt at the end of this game, but it looks to be minor. Canaan has been very inconsistent all season, so he's not really worth a pickup unless you have dead weight on your roster.
Nov 21 - 11:44 PM

Isaiah Canaan started the second half in place of Nik Stauskas for Saturday's game against the Spurs.

Stauskas missed all six of his shots from the field and had a couple turnovers, so coach Brett Brown is simply looking for an offensive start. Canaan is still just a deep-league asset unless this becomes a permanent move.
Nov 14 - 9:57 PM

Isaiah Canaan missed all four shots from the field on Friday with two points at the line, one rebound, two assists and two steals in 15 minutes.

He had a nice little run, but Canaan is back to being cold in a hurry. He's just a backup shooting guard and probably won't be getting minutes over 20 minutes nights, especially with Robert Covington (knee) set to come back next week to take away shots and minutes from the wings.
Nov 14 - 2:57 AM

Isaiah Canaan didn't start Wednesday's game as initially expected, instead coming off the bench for 18 points, five 3-pointers and one assist in 29 minutes.

Brett Brown could have burned fantasy owners with his last-minute lineup change, but at least Canaan was accurate while launching 10 attempts from downtown. Canaan has been hit-or-miss all season and that's not going to change while T.J. McConnell (13 assists) is starting at PG.
Nov 11 - 10:35 PM

Isaiah Canaan will come off the bench on Wednesday against the Raptors.

It doesn't really matter overall because he is going to get a similar amount of playing time and it's just about the lineup combos. If you are starting Canaan, it shouldn't have been based on his starting tonight.
Nov 11 - 7:08 PM

Isaiah Canaan is likely to start at shooting guard on Wednesday against the Raptors.

It makes sense. The 76ers likely just lost Richaun Holmes (hamstring) for the night, so that will change coach Brett Brown's rotation. It would likely push Nik Stauskas to the three and Jerami Grant to the four. Canaan and JaKarr Sampson are too risky to start right now.
Nov 11 - 5:33 PM

Isaiah Canaan came off the bench to hit just 1-of-5 shots and a 3-pointer for three points, three boards, one assist and a steal in 21 minutes on Monday.

He went off for 23 points, three steals and six treys on Saturday, causing many of us to pick him back up and unleash him in fantasy this week. He has time to right the ship, but Monday was an unmitigated disaster.
Nov 9 - 10:43 PM

Isaiah Canaan scored 23 points against the Magic on Saturday with three rebounds, one assist, three steals, one block and six 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

Canaan looked like he was left for dead when he got bumped from the starting lineup, but he's really improved off the ball. Nik Stauskas has the support of the coaching staff, so Canaan won't be getting minutes in the upper 20s most nights. Even though he's put up two good ones in a row, we'd still like to see it at least one or two more times before suggesting him as an add in most leagues.
Nov 7 - 11:44 PM

Isaiah Canaan got the memo with Phil Pressey's arrival and scored 17 points with three treys and four assists in 22 minutes off the bench on Friday..

He hit 5-of-8 shots tonight but did not have any defensive stats, so he should be nowhere near lineups and his value as a stash is questionable at best.
Nov 6 - 11:04 PM

Isaiah Canaan will play more shooting guard for the Sixers moving forward, with Phil Pressey serving as T.J. McConnell's primary backup.

This makes sense, as Canaan is more of a shooting guard in a point guard's body. Perhaps playing off the ball and getting some more catch-and-shoot opportunities will help Canaan improve upon his current averages of 9.5 points and 1.5 three-pointers on 25.7 percent shooting from the field. Still, until he starts actually making shots, Canaan is best served on the waiver wire in most formats.
Nov 5 - 3:39 PM

Isaiah Canaan played just 15 minutes and scored all three of his points at the line on Wednesday, adding one rebound, one assist, one steal, one block and one turnover.

He missed all four shots from the field and had a horrible game. Canaan is a candidate to be cut at almost any depth right now.
Nov 4 - 11:51 PM

Isaiah Canaan will come off the bench on Wednesday against the Bucks, with T.J. McConnell starting at the point.

Ever since the team started saying they were looking at Canaan as a shooting guard on occasion last month, this move was possible. He should see less playing time and most fantasy owners should be looking elsewhere.
Nov 4 - 6:41 PM

Isaiah Canaan continued to struggle for the Sixers on Monday, hitting just 2-of-8 shots (including a three) with two rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes.

Canaan did not have a steal or block and he doesn't look like a good fit for the Philly offense, which needs playmakers and not chuckers. If you took him in a draft you might want to wait another game to see if he can have the inevitable bounce-back game, but his long-term outlook isn't great and a drop is certainly on the table.
Nov 2 - 10:01 PM

Isaiah Canaan hit just 1-of-9 shots in Friday's blowout loss to the Jazz, finishing with 10 points, five rebounds and two assists in 31 minutes.

Canaan's only make was a three and he had no defensive stats. The book on him from Philadelphia sources is that he's a chucker that doesn't have too many fans. Sam Hinkie traded away K.J. McDaniels to get him and that is giving him some extra rope. He's worth owning while the offense is in desperate need of any talent they can find, but his long-term outlook isn't that great.
