Date:

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) is expected to play against the Nuggets on Wednesday.

He should get some playing time with Jason Terry (personal) out tonight. Canaan is still not going to get major minutes while Pat Beverley is around, so he can be left on the wire in most leagues.
Dec 17 - 9:05 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Nuggets.

With Patrick Beverley back and starting, Canaan won't see enough minutes to consistently offer much, if any, fantasy value in standard leagues.
Dec 16 - 2:34 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) is expected to play on Wednesday.

The Rockets are not really going to need him now that Pat Beverley is back. Canaan was nice as a fill-in for the Rockets, but he's not going to be a great fantasy option while Beverley is out there. He might take some minutes away from Jason Terry, though.
Dec 15 - 3:00 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) will not play in Saturday's game vs. the Nuggets.

Patrick Beverley is healthy, so Canaan won't see big minutes upon his eventual return. We will update his status as needed, but owners can ignore him in all but the deepest of leagues. Jason Terry, Troy Daniels and Nick Johnson will all continue to see a bump in minutes, but none of them are standard league options.

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) will not play against the Nuggets on Saturday.

He was hopeful to play in this game, but the Rockets are not going to rush him back. Patrick Beverley is playing big minutes while Jason Terry, Nick Johnson and Troy Daniels are in the rotation for now, too. Canaan can be dropped just about everywhere.
Dec 12 - 2:16 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) is still out for Thursday against the Kings.

The Rockets don't really need him these days with Patrick Beverley back in the starting lineup. Canaan can be dropped in just about all leagues.
Dec 11 - 9:35 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) is listed as out for Wednesday's game vs. the Warriors.

He won't be relevant again unless Patrick Beverley goes down with an injury, so owners should look elsewhere. Jason Terry will continue to play backup point guard for the depleted Rockets, but is only worth a look in deeper leagues. Leave Canaan on the wire.
Dec 10 - 10:42 AM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Warriors.

Patrick Beverley is back and the Rockets are not going to need Canaan nearly as much. Jason Terry is still expected to get some run because the Rockets have no choice but to go small. Canaan can be cut everywhere.
Dec 8 - 2:47 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) will not play on Saturday against the Suns.

It looks like Patrick Beverley (hamstring) is going to beat him back and Canaan doesn't sound close to a return. He did say he would make it back for this one, but that's not the first time a player said something that didn't happen. Canaan can be cut almost everywhere.
Dec 6 - 2:35 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.

This is a shame because he would have logged some serious minutes with Patrick Beverley (hamstring) also out out of the lineups. Jason Terry will continue to start and is worth a look in deeper leagues, while rookie Nick Johnson will also see some increased run, but not enough to matter in most leagues. Canaan's owners should move on and he should be left on the waiver wire unless he returns quicker than Beverley, with his next chance to play coming on Friday.
Dec 3 - 11:04 AM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) said he expects to only be out for a few more days, but won't play on Wednesday against Memphis.

He does have a chance to play on Friday against the Wolves. We should get another game of Jason Terry putting up solid numbers on Wednesday, but his value is up in the air after that. Canaan might beat Patrick Beverley (hamstring) back to game action, so he's a low-end stash in deep leagues.
Dec 1 - 2:42 PM

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) is out as expected for Saturday's game.

This is just a reminder as many of Patrick Beverley's (hamstring) owners have picked up Canaan for short-term value, but he should probably be let go in the vast majority of leagues. The Rockets are now extremely thin at the point guard slot, meaning Jason Terry and rookie Nick Johnson are likely to see big minutes. While neither is a reliable option, it should be noted that Terry started the second half of Friday's game. Stay tuned.

Isaiah Canaan (ankle) and Patrick Beverley (hamstring) have been ruled out for Saturday against the Bucks.

The Rockets are in trouble. Jason Terry started the second half and he's likely going to start on Saturday, as well. Troy Daniels, Francisco Garcia and Nick Johnson will all have to help out for the Rockets while James Harden carries them. Canaan seems like he's going to miss multiple games and can be cut in most formats.
Nov 28 - 10:55 PM

Isaiah Canaan went to the locker room on Friday and will not return.

He attempted his free throws after what looks like a bad sprain. Jason Terry replaced him while Nick Johnson and Troy Daniels could also help out. We'll look for an update on Canaan from the team, but he could miss some time and the Rockets would be in deep trouble with Patrick Beverley (hamstring) without a target date. Worst yet, Canaan was playing well and finished with 13 points, two rebounds and three 3-pointers.
