Isaiah Canaan has agreed to a two-year, $2.2 million deal with the Chicago Bulls.
Canaan wasn't very efficient in Philly last season, but he did play better once he was moved to shooting guard. He posted averages of 11.0 points, 2.3 boards, 1.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 2.3 3-pointers in 25.5 minutes per game, but he will be lucky to get minutes in the teens in Chicago. Jul 12 - 8:27 PM

Isaiah Canaan will become a free agent after the 76ers declined to make him a qualifying offer.

Canaan's season ended with a torn labrum in his left shoulder, and his inefficiency might have prompted the Sixers to decline the offer. The third-year guard hasn't shot better than 37.7 percent in his career, and his ability to lead an offense is questionable with a 1.5 assist-to-turnover ratio. No matter where he ends up next season, he's unlikely to be more than a 3-point specialist.
Jun 29 - 10:17 PM

Isaiah Canaan (torn labrum) is out for the season.

It's a really tough blow for Canaan, who surprisingly is second in total points for the team this season. He should be on track for most of his offseason plan after a couple months off. Hollis Thompson, Robert Covington and Nik Stauskas will get more run.
Apr 8 - 5:27 PM

Isaiah Canaan started and hit 6-of-12 shots and four 3-pointers for 16 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal in Tuesday's win over the Pelicans.

The Sixers must not have gotten the tank memo and Canaan is officially hot, as he had 24 points and five 3-pointers in his previous game. Even with Hollis Thompson back from an illness, Canaan played well and deserves a fantasy look the rest of the way.
Apr 5 - 9:21 PM

Isaiah Canaan scored 24 points in a start with four rebounds, two assists and five 3-pointers against the Pacers on Saturday.

He clearly benefited from Hollis Thompson (illness) being a late scratch. Canaan's move to shooting guard has really helped him as one of the team's top scorers. In fact, Canaan would lead the team in total points scored this season if he can average 24.4 points per game in the final five -- that probably won't happen, but still totally 76ers. He's worth a look if you need scoring and treys.
Apr 2 - 10:26 PM

The 76ers will start Ish Smith, Isaiah Canaan, Hollis Thompson, Jerami Grant and Carl Landry against the Pacers on Saturday.

It's the same lineup as Friday. Canaan and Smith were really bad on Friday, so they'll look to bounce back. Expect a similar rotation except for Elton Brand playing over 20 minutes.
Apr 2 - 7:06 PM

Isaiah Canaan made 1-of-9 from the field for four points with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 24 minutes against the Hornets.

He could be in jeopardy of losing playing time with the 76ers getting Jerami Grant back. Canaan is really inconsistent, so he's not as valuable as guys like Grant, Robert Covington or even Hollis Thompson.
Apr 1 - 9:30 PM

Isaiah Canaan scored 11 points with two rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers against the Nuggets on Wednesday.

He was sitting at around 30 minutes while Covington was out, so his playing time held steady. Canaan is really only good for points and treys, so he's more of a low-upside specialist. His usage is also going to drop with Covington back, though.
Mar 23 - 11:56 PM

Isaiah Canaan scored 15 points with four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes on Thursday.

He's the new trigger man for the 76ers with Robert Covington (concussion) out. Canaan plays just shooting guard, but he's had three good games in a row. His value will fall off soon, but he should be able to keep it going for the next week or so. He's worth owning in most leagues for those concerned with short-term value.
Mar 17 - 9:50 PM

Isaiah Canaan hit 5-of-10 shots (all 3-pointers) and 5-of-5 free throws for 20 points, two rebounds and one assist.

He doesn't do much besides score but he had 22 in his last game and is averaging 15.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 3.4 3-pointers over his last five. If you need threes, Canaan can help.
Mar 15 - 10:34 PM

Isaiah Canaan made 5-of-8 from the field and 8-of-9 from the line 22 points on Saturday against the Pistons with one rebound, one assist, two steals and four 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

He didn't shoot the ball as much as usual, but the efficiency was there. Coach Brett Brown actually used him at the three at times with the 76ers going extremely small to make up for their lack of depth up front. Canaan should have a better line on Tuesday with the 76ers likely to have the same group of players. If you need a scorer with some threes this week, give Canaan a look. He's only a borderline add in standard leagues with his four games next week.
Mar 12 - 10:24 PM

Ish Smith, Isaiah Canaan, Hollis Thompson, Carl Landry and Nerlens Noel will start against the Pistons on Saturday.

Canaan gets the nod over Nik Stauskas while Hollis Thompson slides over to the small forward spot. Canaan should be getting over 30 minutes tonight and the 76ers could even go with a lineup of Canaan, Smith and T.J. McConnell at times. Canaan is worth a look for short-term value in deeper leagues or a punt play in DFS.
Mar 12 - 5:34 PM

Isaiah Canaan played 27 minutes against the Nets on Friday with four points, three rebounds, one assist and no turnovers.

If Robert Covington (head, neck) and Jerami Grant (head) miss time, there should be a decent amount of minutes at shooting guard for Canaan. He hasn't exactly played well and is very streaky, so he's only a speculative add in deep leagues right now.
Mar 11 - 9:40 PM

Isaiah Canaan scored four points with three rebounds, three assists, two steals and no turnovers on 1-of-9 from the field against the Heat on Friday.

He tends to have bad games in sub-par matchups, so this isn't a surprise. Nik Stauskas (illness) should be back out there and his minutes cap may be removed, so Canaan is only worth a look in deeper leagues.
Mar 4 - 10:42 PM

Isaiah Canaan will shift to a reserve role on Friday, with Hollis Thompson taking his spot in the starting lineup.

Nik Stauskas is out of commission tonight, along with Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor and Kendall Marshall, so coach Brett Brown is getting creative. Canaan should still earn substantial playing time tonight, but it's a tough matchup vs. the Heat and he offers very little beyond points and 3-pointers.
