Lorenzo Brown "looks to be ahead" of Ray McCallum Jr. on the point guard depth chart, according to the Detroit News.
Brown had a strong summer league and is also familiar with the offense while McCallum is new to the Pistons, so this does not come as a surprise. "[We’re looking for] a guy we think will help us the most and is the most ready to step in and play," Van Gundy said. "They’re both just playing to their strengths and we’ll make that decision when the time comes." Regardless of how it shakes out, neither player is on the fantasy radar with Reggie Jackson and Ish Smith ahead of them. Sep 17 - 2:12 PM

Lorenzo Brown is the favorite to be the No. 3 point guard on the Pistons.

Earlier this summer, coach Stan Van Gundy praised Brown for his play at Orlando Pro Summer League, so it's not a surprise he's ahead of Ray McCallum. In fantasy circles, Brown is best known for his 48-minute outing on Jan. 31, 2014, but the 26-year-old guard played just 61 total minutes last season.

Stan Van Gundy suggested that the Pistons will guarantee Lorenzo Brown's $1 million contract for the 2016-17 season.

The Pistons want to maximize their future cap space to retain Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, so they can only offer veteran PGs a minimum, one-year deal. "We’ve got Lorenzo Brown under contract and I was impressed with what he did in Orlando [Pro Summer League]," said Van Gundy. "It’s very possible that the 15 guys we have now – including Lorenzo – are the 15 guys we’ll go into the season with." Even if he does make the cut, Brown is buried behind Reggie Jackson and Ish Smith on the depth chart.
Jul 17 - 9:26 AM

Lorenzo Brown has still not arrived in Cleveland, and is not expected to play Wednesday vs. the Cavs.

He was expected to sign with Detroit today, but given he's yet to meet with the team, it's highly unlikely he takes the court tonight. He's not a fantasy option anywhere.
Apr 13 - 7:37 PM

The Pistons are expected to sign Lorenzo Brown on Wednesday.

The Pistons will be adding Brown to the roster for Wednesday's game against the Cavs, which could be an indication that Reggie Jackson (abdominal) may again be forced to the sidelines for Detroit's regular-season finale. However, even if Jackson is out, Brown will be fighting for reserve minutes with Spencer Dinwiddie, making him a negligible fantasy option in all settings.
Apr 13 - 9:11 AM

The Pistons will not sign Lorenzo Brown for the rest of the season.

His second 10-day contract has expired, but he should get a training camp invite to another NBA team this summer.
Apr 8 - 1:16 PM

Pistons sign G Lorenzo Brown to a second 10-day contract.

Brown's last blurb was upon his initial signing, and that's really all you need to know here.
Mar 28 - 10:27 AM

The Pistons have signed Lorenzo Brown to a 10-day deal.

Reggie Jackson is questionable for Friday's game due to an illness, so Brown will provide some insurance for the Pistons if Jackson can't play. To be clear, most owners can leave Brown on the wire for now.
Mar 18 - 10:28 AM

The Pistons plan to sign Lorenzo Brown to a 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo.

Brown has been playing with Grand Rapids of the D-League and will likely join the Pistons within the next few days. The 25-year-old averaged just 2.5 points per game in eight games with the Suns earlier this year and can be ignored in all fantasy leagues.
Mar 17 - 12:30 PM

Lorenzo Brown played nine minutes against the Spurs Thursday with four rebounds, two assists and one turnover.

Coach Jeff Hornacek supported Brown earlier in the week, but he struggled tonight. Brown probably won't get another 10-day deal.
Jan 22 - 1:44 AM

The Phoenix Suns have signed Lorenzo Brown to a second 10-day contract.

Brown is averaging 4.3 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in three games with the Suns and can be left on waivers in all fantasy leagues.
Jan 19 - 12:11 PM

Lorenzo Brown, playing his first game with the Suns, was thrown into the fire and had seven points, two rebounds, five assists, a steal and a 3-pointer on 2-of-5 shooting in 20 minutes in Tuesday's loss.

He's on a 10-day contract and was needed tonight with Brandon Knight out with food poisoning. He came in averaging just 3.4 points and 2.4 assists in his NBA career and Knight will be back soon, so he's not worth another look in standard leagues.
Jan 12 - 10:18 PM

The Suns officially signed guard Lorenzo Brown to a 10-day contract on Friday.

He averaged 16.4 points, 6.1 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals in the D-League, but his career averages in the NBA are 3.4 points, 2.4 assists, 1.8 boards and 0.7 steals in 14.1 minutes per game. He will be active for Friday's game vs. the Heat, but his role will likely be limited at best.

Jan 8 - 1:12 PM

The Suns will reportedly sign Lorenzo Brown to a 10-day contract.

Even with Eric Bledsoe (knee) done for the year, there's still too much competition for backcourt minutes in Phoenix for Brown to garner any attention in fantasy leagues.
Jan 7 - 3:44 PM

The Wolves waived Lorenzo Brown, Nick Wiggins and Kleon Penn on Saturday.

It's an expected move and it's possible that we will see these players in the D-League this season.
