Dennis Schroder came off the bench for 13 points, two rebounds, two assists and a 3-pointer on 5-of-8 shooting in just 17 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Nets.
The Hawks are truly the most unselfish team in the league this season and it seems like one player steps up off the bench to make things happen every game. Tonight it was Schroder, but don't be surprised if he takes a back seat to Mike Scott, Thabo Sefolosha, Kent Bazemore or Pero Antic in the next one. Set your DVR for Feb. 6, when the Hawks host the Warriors at Phillips Arena. Jan 29 - 2:04 AM

Dennis Schroder got hot off the bench on Friday against the Thunder, scoring 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting (1-of-5 from deep, 4-of-4 from the line) with four rebounds and five assists in just 18 minutes.

Schroder isn't going to have value outside of deeper leagues, but lines like this can be filed away for owners to remember. He's a point guard to watch over the next few seasons.

Dennis Schroder (ankle) played 18 minutes off the bench on Monday, finishing a win vs. Detroit with four points, three rebounds, six assists and zero turnovers.

He didn't have any 3-pointers or steals and his minutes didn't budge despite the absence of backup G Shelvin Mack (calf). Schroder is only worth considering as a fantasy option when Jeff Teague is out of the lineup.
Jan 19 - 6:23 PM

Dennis Schroder (ankle) is expected to play on Monday against the Pistons.

Schroder sat out Saturday's game with a minor ankle injury, but he's clearly fine and his previous absence may have been designed more for rest than anything else.
Jan 19 - 10:29 AM

Head coach Mike Budenholzer said Dennis Schroder is dealing with a minor ankle injury which is why he did not play against the Bulls on Saturday.

Coach Budenholzer did say that Schroder would play on Monday against the Pistons, so the ankle issue appears to be very minor. Shelvin Mack suffered a calf strain on Saturday, so Jeff Teague would have to play all the minutes he could handle against the Pistons should Schroder miss any additional time.
Jan 18 - 10:47 AM

Dennis Schroder didn't play in Saturday's game against the Bulls due to an undisclosed injury, but he is expected to play on Monday.

It is thought to be a minor ankle injury, but we will update his status when we know more. Shelvin Mack strained his calf on Saturday, so Jeff Teague could end up playing all the minutes he can handle on Monday should Schroder and Mack see some time on the sidelines.
Jan 17 - 11:04 PM

Hawks PG Dennis Schroder started Tuesday's game with Jeff Teague resting, and he posted 13 points, two 3-pointers, six assists, one steal and four turnovers in 25 minutes.

In four previous starts this season, Schroder averaged a solid 11.3 points on 47.4 percent shooting, 3.3 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 0.5 steals in only 27 minutes per game. He'd be an intriguing pickup if Teague were to miss an extended period of time, but for now he belongs on the waiver wire.
Jan 13 - 9:30 PM

Dennis Schroder will enter the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the 76ers with Jeff Teague (rest) out.

Through four starts this season Schroder is averaging 11.3 points, 6.5 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game on 47.4 percent shooting. He has a dream matchup against the 76ers, and will serve as a quality plug-and-play option in daily leagues, plan accordingly.
Jan 13 - 6:09 PM

Dennis Schroder adjusted his mindset after his rookie season to be better in his sophomore campaign.

"I know how the NBA works now," he said. "How to train. I also understand defenses very well. Last year, I think, I was kinda just: go out there and play. Now I understand from Coach Bud and training camp what to actually do. I’m listening better." Schroder also credited increased film work for his improvement in the half court.

Dennis Schroder played six minutes against the Bucks on Saturday with one rebound and one turnover.

Well, Jeff Teague is back. Schroder had an impressive run, but he's obviously not going to have fantasy value while Teague is active.

Dennis Schroder had five points, two rebounds, four assists, one steal and four turnovers on Tuesday, playing 24 minutes as the Hawks' starting PG despite the return of Jeff Teague (hamstring).

Schroder's solid play in Teague's absence has earned him some goodwill from coach Mike Budenholzer, but he's unlikely to keep the starting job much longer. Owners gauging his rest-of-season value should consider his mediocre averages through 26 games -- 9.2 points (48.1 percent FGs, 77.4 percent FTs), 0.3 triples, 2.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.7 turnovers.
Wed, Dec 24, 2014 12:44:00 AM

Dennis Schroder will start again for Tuesday's game against the Clippers, and Jeff Teague (hamstring) will come off the bench.

Through three games with the starting unit this season Schroder is averaging 13.3 points and 7.3 assists per game over 28 minutes of action. However, with Teague available for this one, Schroder's minutes will likely come down, and he'll make for a risky option in daily leagues with a tough matchup vs. the Clippers.
Tue, Dec 23, 2014 06:13:00 PM

Dennis Schroder started for injured Jeff Teague (hamstring) and scored a career-high 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting with three rebounds, six assists and one steal in 31 minutes on Monday against the Mavs.

Schroder has impressed a lot of folks in the know and he has starter-level upside in the NBA. When Shelvin Mack (two points, four assists) isn't making every single shot he takes, it's clear that Schroder is the starter and Mack is the backup whenever Teague is out. He's been great since taking over the reins for Teague and when that's over he'll go back to being a stash with top 175-200 value (8/9 cat) on the year.
Tue, Dec 23, 2014 02:03:00 AM

Dennis Schroder slowed down against the Rockets on Saturday with eight points, six rebounds, six assists and four turnovers in 30 minutes.

He looked great in his first start on Wednesday, but Patrick Beverley will make anyone look a lot worse. Schroder should have another game as the start and would likely have success against Rajon Rondo. He's worth a look for short-term value.
Sat, Dec 20, 2014 10:49:00 PM

Dennis Schroder started in place of Jeff Teague (hamstring) and hit 4-of-6 shots for 10 points, two rebounds and 10 assists in 22 minutes of Wednesday's surprisingly easy win over the Cavaliers.

Schroder and reserve Shelvin Mack dominated Kyrie Irving and the Cavs tonight for a 127-98 blowout win. Schroder came through if you used him with Teague out, but Mack was even better with 24 points on a great shooting night. It was hard to see this type of blowout coming in Cleveland, but the Hawks are playing very well as a team and didn't even miss Teague tonight. If he misses any more games, look for Schroder to start and share minutes with Mack again.
