Dennis Schroder said he will play for Germany at Eurobasket this summer.
"I will definitely play this summer. Listening to the German anthem is a great feeling. I did not hear it for a long time and it is time to listen to it again," Schroder said. Schroder had an up-and-down regular season as the Hawks starting point guard in 2016-17, but stepped up in the postseason, averaging 24.7 points, 7.7 assists and 2.8 treys, while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 42.5 percent from downtown. Dennis Schroder said he believes the Hawks need to do a better job incorporating Dwight Howard into the team's offense next season.

Schroder was a stud in the postseason, averaging 24.7 points and 7.7 assists (versus just 1.7 turnovers) in Atlanta's six-game series against Washington. However, Howard averaged just 8.0 points. "It’s different when Dwight is on the floor. It was different with Al Horford," said Schroder. "We have to switch up the system a little bit. We have to get reps. We have to be together for a while... On the defensive end, he has to show more effort, I have to show more effort. On the offensive end, the same thing."
May 5 - 11:49 AM

Dennis Schroder scored 26 points with one rebound, 10 assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 40 minutes against the Wizards on Friday.

He did put up plenty of stats in this series, but John Wall owned him through this round. Schroder was able to avoid the doghouse for most of this season with the exception of a handful of games, so he should go into next season with a significant role. Schroder was also able to put up better numbers after the break, so he'll be trending up heading into his age-24 season. His game just doesn't translate well enough to be worth reaching for early in fantasy drafts.
Apr 28 - 10:11 PM

Dennis Schroder posted his first double-double of the playoffs on Wednesday with 29 points, 11 assists and two steals, making 10-of-18 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs with a 5-of-6 mark from downtown.

Schroder was huge down the stretch and he committed just one turnover tonight, compared to his regular-season average of 3.3 per game. He's thriving in the postseason spotlight, which is critical since Atlanta's alternatives are 35-year-old Jose Calderon and undrafted rookie Malcolm Delaney. "All year we’ve expected so much of Dennis and he may have tried to do too much on occasion," coach Mike Budenholzer said. "Right now he’s being very aggressive, getting people involved, moving the ball, making good decisions." Expect more of the same in a must-win Game 6 on Friday.
Apr 26 - 9:29 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 18 points to lead the Hawks to a 111-101 Game 4 win over the Wizards on Monday to tie the series 2-2, adding three rebounds, one assist and two triples in 28 minutes.

He picked up three fouls in the first quarter and didn't even play in the second, but he won this game for the Hawks. Schroder notched all 18 of his points after the break including 10 in the fourth quarter, and he hit a few huge daggers down the stretch to put this one out of reach. These playoffs have been his coming out party so far, as he was averaging 25.0 points and 8.0 assists in his previous three games.
Apr 24 - 11:43 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 27 points with two rebounds, nine assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Wizards on Saturday.

Coach Mike Budenholzer said he wanted Schroder to be more like Kawhi Leonard and try to avoid the trash talk, but it's going to be really tough for him now. When Schroder found out that Markieff Morris called Paul Millsap a crybaby, Schroder had a hilarious reaction to the comment (video in link below). He plays with a lot of confidence and he'll likely have a little more after this game.

Apr 22 - 9:32 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 23 points during Game 2, going 8-of-21 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line with six assists, four rebounds and one steal.

Schroder committed one turnover in 38 minutes tonight, which is great, but he also went just 1-of-8 from downtown. The Hawks as a team shot 4-of-20 from deep, and 41.0 percent overall, which won't cut it against the Wizards' potent offense. Inefficiency aside, Schroder has been solid for DFS in the playoffs while averaging 24.0 points, 7.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals.
Apr 19 - 10:08 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 25 points on 8-of-16 shooting during Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Wizards, adding nine assists, three rebounds, one steal, three 3-pointers and two turnovers in 36 minutes.

Schroder's left foot was not an issue at all, so there's no reason to expect him to miss any more time moving forward. He was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in this one, giving him a sterling true shooting percentage of 67.1 on the evening, which was particularly impressive with how well John Wall defended him. It'll be interesting to see if this efficient trend continues in Game 2.
Apr 16 - 4:46 PM

Dennis Schroder (left foot) will play in Game 1 vs. the Wizards on Sunday.

He was listed as probable on the injury report and missed two games in April, but he will be a full go for the playoffs. As previously mentioned, Schroder had a tough time against the Wizards during the regular season with averages of 15.3 points, 4.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 triples on 38.2 percent shooting.
Apr 16 - 11:41 AM

Dennis Schroder (left foot) is probable for Game 1 against the Wizards on Sunday.

Schroder sat out of two games in April because of his left foot, but it was more of a precaution. He's listed as the probable starter and we'll confirm that he's in the lineup to be safe. In four regular season games vs. the Wizards, Schroder averaged 15.3 points, 4.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 triples on 38.2 percent shooting.
Apr 16 - 9:44 AM

Dennis Schroder (rest) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game vs. Indiana.

With Schroder on the sidelines, Jose Calderon will likely draw the start with Malcolm Delaney seeing a good amount of opportunity with the second unit. Calderon is really nothing more than an assists-specialist in really deep leagues, but Delaney does have the ability to produce some solid stat lines when given the minutes, so he's on the radar as a potential DSF punt play tonight.
Apr 12 - 1:56 PM

Dennis Schroder (foot) scored 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting Sunday, to go with three rebounds, five assists, one 3-pointer, one steal, one block and zero turnovers in 27 minutes.

Schroder didn't appear to be limited at all in his return from a one-game absence, so owners can expect him to be on the court for Atlanta's final two games of the 2016-17 season. With Schroder back in the starting five, Jose Calderon was only on the floor for 12 minutes, and Malcolm Delaney saw his playing time dip to 13 minutes.
Apr 9 - 7:23 PM

Dennis Schroder (foot) will start on Sunday vs. the Cavaliers.

He's back after a day of rest, meaning Jose Calderon and Malcolm Delaney will be irrelevant again in fantasy. Get Schroder back in your lineups. He will draw the start next to Tim Hardaway Jr, Taurean Prince and Dwight Howard -- the Hawks haven't decided who will start at PF yet because Paul Millsap might be rested.
Apr 9 - 1:59 PM

Dennis Schroder (foot) is probable to play against the Cavs on Sunday.

This confirms the Friday mix up was more about rest than a foot sprain he may have suffered on Thursday. It'll be interesting to see how coach Mike Budenholzer uses Schroder after that big win on Friday, but go ahead and put him in your fantasy lineup.
Apr 8 - 4:58 PM

Updating a previous item, Dennis Schroder (foot) is not starting on Friday against the Cavs and will not play.

The Hawks changed their lineup here and Jose Calderon is in the starting group. For now, Schroder should not be in any lineups right now. Meanwhile, expect Malcolm Delaney and Jose Calderon to split the minutes at the one. Both would be risky DFS plays.
