Dennis Schroder netted 27 points on 12-of-23 shooting during Tuesday's loss to Spain, adding eight assists, four rebounds, three 3-pointers in 33 minutes.
Schroder did all he could to try and deliver the win for Team Germany, but the talent on Spain's roster was just too much to compete with and Schroder's seven turnovers didn't help much either. Aside from the turnover issues, Schroder played well at the EuroBasket tournament, finishing with averages of 23.7 points, 5.6 assists, 1.7 triples and 1.6 triples per contest on 47.9 percent shooting. He'll be the No. 1 option in Atlanta's offense this upcoming season, so feel free to look his way towards the later rounds on draft day. Sep 12 - 2:57 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 21 points and dished out eight assists on Saturday in Germany's victory over France.

Schroder has been stellar all tournament long for Germany. Through six games, he is averaging 23.2 points, 5.2 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.5 3-pointers. However, one issue has been ball security, as he's currently averaging 4.3 turnovers per contest. Schroder finished 108th overall in standard fantasy leagues last season, but should be able to leap inside the top-100 in 2017-18, as the focal point of the Atlanta offense.
Sep 9 - 12:42 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting in an 89-72 loss to Lithuania on Wednesday, adding two 3-pointers, three assists, three steals and two turnovers in 28 minutes.

While Germany suffered their second loss of pool play today, the team did enough with a record of 3-2 to advance to the single elimination round of the 24-team tournament. Schroder has lead the charge for Team Germany, and currently sits in the No. 2 spot in scoring through five games of tournament play at 23.6 points per contest to go with averages of 4.6 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.8 triples and 4.8 turnovers a night on 50.7 percent shooting.
Sep 6 - 1:42 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 17 points on 5-of-12 shooting during Tuesday's win over Italy, adding four assists, one rebound, one steal, one block and an unfortunate six turnovers in 31 minutes.

Efficiency and turnover issues are a constant hindrance to Schroder's fantasy game, and now through four games at EuroBasket, he's established himself as the tournament leader in turnovers at 5.5 per contest. He also tends to struggle to bring the defensive stats to the table, so while he has a decent shot of improving as a scorer and dime dropper this upcoming season, it could be tough for him to approach the top-50 equation if he doesn't improve those other aspects of his game.
Sep 5 - 5:05 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting during Sunday's loss to Israel, adding seven assists, three steals and four turnovers in 27 minutes.

Schroder is coming off a career-year in which he produced averages of 17.9 points, 6.3 assists, 1.3 triples, 0.9 steals and 3.3 turnovers per game on 45.1 percent shooting, which was good enough for ninth-round value in standard 9-cat leagues. He should see an uptick in scoring and dimes this upcoming season with Paul Millsap, Dwight Howard and Tim Hardaway Jr. no longer a part of the picture, but he'll need to really improve the defensive stats to have a chance at sniffing top-50 value.
Sep 3 - 4:42 PM

Dennis Schroder went off for 32 points in Germany's 75-63 win over the Ukraine.

He left the German hotel after midnight on Tuesday to get some extra shots up and it paid dividends, as Schroder buried five triples in the win with seven assists and five rebounds. With Paul Millsap and Tim Hardaway Jr. gone, Schroder will be the engine of Atlanta's offense and is poised for a career year. He's a career 43.3 percent shooter from the field, but his ceiling would raise significantly in fantasy if he keeps developing his jumper and keeps his turnovers in check.
Aug 31 - 12:12 PM

Dennis Schroder left the German team hotel Tuesday night for a workout and was shooting past midnight.

He's apparently putting in a lot of work and he is ticketed for a big role next season. Schroder had a 30.7 usage rate in his minutes without Paul Millsap, and it's not outlandish to think he could clear 30 on a thin Hawks roster. He figures to have some inefficiency as a scorer, but his upside is high for DFS and in season-long leagues, especially if you're punting field goal percentage.
Aug 30 - 5:53 PM

Dennis Schroder said he will play for Germany at Eurobasket this summer.

"I will definitely play this summer. Listening to the German anthem is a great feeling. I did not hear it for a long time and it is time to listen to it again," Schroder said. Schroder had an up-and-down regular season as the Hawks starting point guard in 2016-17, but stepped up in the postseason, averaging 24.7 points, 7.7 assists and 2.8 treys, while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor and 42.5 percent from downtown.
May 30 - 11:05 AM

Dennis Schroder said he believes the Hawks need to do a better job incorporating Dwight Howard into the team's offense next season.

Schroder was a stud in the postseason, averaging 24.7 points and 7.7 assists (versus just 1.7 turnovers) in Atlanta's six-game series against Washington. However, Howard averaged just 8.0 points. "It’s different when Dwight is on the floor. It was different with Al Horford," said Schroder. "We have to switch up the system a little bit. We have to get reps. We have to be together for a while... On the defensive end, he has to show more effort, I have to show more effort. On the offensive end, the same thing."
May 5 - 11:49 AM

Dennis Schroder scored 26 points with one rebound, 10 assists, two steals and three 3-pointers in 40 minutes against the Wizards on Friday.

He did put up plenty of stats in this series, but John Wall owned him through this round. Schroder was able to avoid the doghouse for most of this season with the exception of a handful of games, so he should go into next season with a significant role. Schroder was also able to put up better numbers after the break, so he'll be trending up heading into his age-24 season. His game just doesn't translate well enough to be worth reaching for early in fantasy drafts.
Apr 28 - 10:11 PM

Dennis Schroder posted his first double-double of the playoffs on Wednesday with 29 points, 11 assists and two steals, making 10-of-18 FGs and 4-of-5 FTs with a 5-of-6 mark from downtown.

Schroder was huge down the stretch and he committed just one turnover tonight, compared to his regular-season average of 3.3 per game. He's thriving in the postseason spotlight, which is critical since Atlanta's alternatives are 35-year-old Jose Calderon and undrafted rookie Malcolm Delaney. "All year we’ve expected so much of Dennis and he may have tried to do too much on occasion," coach Mike Budenholzer said. "Right now he’s being very aggressive, getting people involved, moving the ball, making good decisions." Expect more of the same in a must-win Game 6 on Friday.
Apr 26 - 9:29 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 18 points to lead the Hawks to a 111-101 Game 4 win over the Wizards on Monday to tie the series 2-2, adding three rebounds, one assist and two triples in 28 minutes.

He picked up three fouls in the first quarter and didn't even play in the second, but he won this game for the Hawks. Schroder notched all 18 of his points after the break including 10 in the fourth quarter, and he hit a few huge daggers down the stretch to put this one out of reach. These playoffs have been his coming out party so far, as he was averaging 25.0 points and 8.0 assists in his previous three games.
Apr 24 - 11:43 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 27 points with two rebounds, nine assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes against the Wizards on Saturday.

Coach Mike Budenholzer said he wanted Schroder to be more like Kawhi Leonard and try to avoid the trash talk, but it's going to be really tough for him now. When Schroder found out that Markieff Morris called Paul Millsap a crybaby, Schroder had a hilarious reaction to the comment (video in link below). He plays with a lot of confidence and he'll likely have a little more after this game.

Apr 22 - 9:32 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 23 points during Game 2, going 8-of-21 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line with six assists, four rebounds and one steal.

Schroder committed one turnover in 38 minutes tonight, which is great, but he also went just 1-of-8 from downtown. The Hawks as a team shot 4-of-20 from deep, and 41.0 percent overall, which won't cut it against the Wizards' potent offense. Inefficiency aside, Schroder has been solid for DFS in the playoffs while averaging 24.0 points, 7.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals.
Apr 19 - 10:08 PM

Dennis Schroder scored 25 points on 8-of-16 shooting during Sunday's Game 1 loss to the Wizards, adding nine assists, three rebounds, one steal, three 3-pointers and two turnovers in 36 minutes.

Schroder's left foot was not an issue at all, so there's no reason to expect him to miss any more time moving forward. He was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in this one, giving him a sterling true shooting percentage of 67.1 on the evening, which was particularly impressive with how well John Wall defended him. It'll be interesting to see if this efficient trend continues in Game 2.
