Glen Rice Jr. scored a game-high 24 points before being named the Summer League MVP on Sunday, adding nine rebounds, two assists and six steals in a losing effort.
The Wizards' offense sputtered and they finished with only 62 points on 35.2 percent shooting, including an abysmal 3-of-29 mark from downtown. Rice Jr. has been a step ahead of the competition throughout Summer League, averaging 25.2 points on 50.7 percent shooting prior to Sunday's outburst. He was also shooting 44.4 percent from downtown and warrants attention as a potential 3-point specialist while Martell Webster (back) is out of commission. Jul 20 - 10:23 PM

Glen Rice Jr. hit a 3-pointer to send Saturday's win over the Spurs to triple-overtime, finishing with 36 points, 11 boards, three assists, four steals and six 3-pointers in 39 minutes.

He set a summer-league high in scoring and also moved back into the top spot for points per game in summer league. Rice could get some minutes with the Wizards due to the Martell Webster back injury and he is a possible target in very deep fantasy leagues.

Glen Rice Jr. has been reassigned to the Iowa Energy of the D-League.

Rice averaged 24.3 points and 10.3 rebounds with the Energy back in January, so this move should help the 23-year-old get some valuable minutes with the Wizards' D-League affiliate. After his three games with the Energy earlier this month, Rice didn't see any minutes with the Wizards so it goes without saying that fantasy owners shouldn't have him on their radar for the 2013-14 season.

Glen Rice Jr. (wrist surgery) has been cleared to shoot and is getting closer to participating in full-contact practices.

Rice Jr. was given a 3-6 week timetable after surgery in Dec. 18, and it sounds as though he's recovering on schedule. The Wizards' second-round draft pick is shooting under 30 percent from the field in 11 NBA appearances.

Glen Rice Jr. (wrist surgery) no longer has a splint on his right shooting wrist.

Rice had surgery two weeks ago but he was seen taking shots during Tuesday's practice, which is a positive sign. The Wizards have no timetable for his return.

Glen Rice Jr. had surgery on his right wrist and is expected to miss 3-6 weeks.

He hurt himself during a celebration and was diagnosed with a fracture in his right wrist. Rice was not going to be in the rotation now that Bradley Beal has returned to the lineup and has no fantasy value.

Glen Rice Jr. is "unlikely to play" in Wednesday's game after injuring himself during a post-game celebration on Monday.

"He got hurt in the celebration. Don't ask me. I don't know what it is. We can't catch a break," said coach Randy Wittman. "He's had a sore wrist the last couple weeks but we've been able to take care of it enough where he can still play. He got it jammed or something in the jubilation." Rice has yet to score double-digit points in the NBA and his absence should go unremarked in fantasy leagues.

Glen Rice Jr. made the first start of his career on Monday with a line of seven points, three boards, one assist, three steals and one 3-pointer on 3-of-9 shooting in 29 minutes.

He didn't play too well tonight and settled for a lot of jumpers when he probably should have been attacking. Rice was outstanding in the D-League playoffs last year with averages of 25.0 points, 9.5 boards, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocks in six games, so he's capable of putting up lines at the lower levels. Of course, the NBA is a little different and Rice still has his work cut out for him to be a mainstay in the rotation.

Glen Rice Jr. and Trevor Booker will start against the Nuggets on Monday.

This just goes to show how bad Chris Singleton was over the weekend, and the team still isn't comfortable in giving rookie Otto Porter minutes yet. Rice is worth a look in very deep leagues, but the expectations should be very low. However, Trevor Booker could be a double-double threat tonight.

Glen Rice Jr. could struggle for minutes as a rookie with the Wizards.

Not a huge shock for a second-round pick, but Rice Jr. faces a logjam with Bradley Beal, Martell Webster and Eric Maynor all projected to log time at shooting guard. A lot will need to happen for him to be a factor this season.

Glen Rice Jr. signed his rookie-scale contract with the Wizards on Monday.

Rice rebuilt his draft stock with a strong season in the D-League, averaging 14.5 points, 1.8 threes, 6.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.0 blocks in just 26 minutes per game.

Glen Rice, Jr. was selected by the Sixers with the 35th pick in the NBA Draft and traded to the Wizards for the 38th and 54th picks.

He played 42 games in the D-League last year, scoring 13 points per game on 49 percent shooting. Rice had some character issues coming out of college at Georgia Tech, but his professional career is off to a good start. He should be a factor in training camp.

ESPN's Chad Ford says former Georgia Tech G/F Glen Rice Jr. is "firmly" in the first round.

The son of three-time All-Star Glen Rice, the younger version was dismissed from Georgia Tech after his junior season for multiple team rule violations. He then wisely opted to play in the D-Leage, where he averaged 25 points per game in the playoffs as the Rio Grande Vipers won the championship. With a rehabbed image, a sweet jumper and good size (6'6/215), Rice is climbing up draft boards.
