Glen Rice, Jr. is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg after he was reportedly involved in a fight with four or five other people.

According to this report, "After another man shot him, police said Rice tried to leave the scene. Police said he dumped the revolver, which came up as possibly stolen, in a staircase near the restaurant and got into a Porsche with another man. The driver of the Porsche took Rice to Emory Hospital, where he got out and laid on the ground. He was then taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. Police said a backpack found near the Porsche contained 240 grams of marijuana, about $5,900 and the revolver."

Glen Rice Jr. scored 28 points on 7-of-18 shooting (3-of-9 from deep, 11-of-11 from the line) with four rebounds, four assists and four steals over 34 minutes in Monday's exhibition against the Raptors.

Rice is picking right back up where he left off in last year's Summer League and we'll need to see a ton of hype out of wherever he plays this season to give him any fantasy attention. As we saw last year, he was a case where Summer League success didn't translate to the regular season.

Glen Rice Jr. scored 20 points in Friday's exhibition game, hitting 8-of-15 shots (including two threes) to go with six rebounds and one assist.

Rice was Summer League MVP last year as he knows how to put up numbers in the garbage time environment. He was waived by the Wizards last year and he'll need to turn a lot of heads before we pay him any attention in fantasy leagues.

The Washington Wizards have waived Glen Rice Jr. on Wednesday.

The move was expected, as the Wizards decided to keep Rasual Butler instead due to his recent play off the bench. Rice Jr. may latch onto another NBA team in the near future, but he is off the fantasy radar for now and can be cut across the board.

The Wizards will waive Glen Rice Jr. on Wednesday, sources told Real GM.

The Wizards have tried to shop the swingman, but have had no success. The team reportedly prefers an open roster spot over Rice (and his deal becomes guaranteed on Jan. 10), so it's possible other interested clubs just wait it out in order to force Washington's hand.

The Washington Wizards are shopping Glen Rice Jr. according to the Washington Post.

The Wizards lack financial flexibility and they have several options on the wing, so the move does make some sense. His contract will become guaranteed on Jan. 10 so he will likely be moved or possibly even waived before that date. Glen Rice Jr. does have some potential but doesn't project to have any fantasy value unless he lands in an ideal situation. We will continue to follow this story closely.

The Wizards assigned Glen Rice Jr. to their D-League affiliate on Thursday.

The Fort Wayne Mad Ants play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, during which Rice should get some much needed minutes after being inactive for the Wizards' past four games. It would take a few injuries for him to have a fantasy-relevant role in Washington.

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) returned to action on Thursday with 14 minutes, five points, one rebound and one 3-pointer in his season debut.

He backed up Garrett Temple, who played well tonight. Rice has too many holes on defense and issues with his shot selection, so he's not going to have fantasy value.

Glen Rice didn't play in Wednesday's opener for the Wizards.

He's got an ankle problem and while he was expected to play, he never got off the bench. He's worth keeping an eye on when healthy, as he could start at shooting guard until Bradley Beal is healthy again.

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) is expected to play on Wednesday night.

Rice, who has been dealing with a sprained ankle, is expected to get solid minutes and production with Bradley Beal out for the next few weeks.

Glenn Rice Jr. (ankle) will be available for Wednesday's opener barring a setback, according to Wizards head coach Randy Wittman.

Rice should see plenty of run with Bradley Beal (wrist) and Martell Webster (back) sidelined, but Otto Porter will likely absorb most of Rice's value as the starting shooting guard. We'll update Rice's availability after Wednesday's shootaround, but he's not worth starting in standard fantasy leagues.

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) went through a full practice on Monday and is hopeful he'll be ready to suit up for opening night.

Rice will see some extra run with Bradley Beal (wrist) and Martell Webster (back) sidelined to start the season. However, it appears that Otto Porter has won the starting shooting guard job, which will make it difficult for Rice to sustain any sort of value.

Updating a previous item, Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) is ready to go for opening night.

It's good news for the Wizards as a team dangerously thin at shooting guard right now. Rice could see some extra run with Bradley Beal (wrist) and Martell Webster (back) sidelined to start the season.
Mon, Oct 27, 2014 01:19:00 PM

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) remains questionable for the start of the season.

Rice's ankle injury has dogged him for about two weeks now, and the updates on his progress have been rather scant. We're not considering him likely for the opener, but it doesn't sound like he should be out too long, either. Even with Bradley Beal (wrist) out, Rice isn't on the fantasy radar.
