The Wizards assigned Glen Rice Jr. to their D-League affiliate on Thursday.
The Fort Wayne Mad Ants play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, during which Rice should get some much needed minutes after being inactive for the Wizards' past four games. It would take a few injuries for him to have a fantasy-relevant role in Washington. Nov 20 - 2:05 PM

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) returned to action on Thursday with 14 minutes, five points, one rebound and one 3-pointer in his season debut.

He backed up Garrett Temple, who played well tonight. Rice has too many holes on defense and issues with his shot selection, so he's not going to have fantasy value.
Oct 31 - 2:33 AM

Glen Rice didn't play in Wednesday's opener for the Wizards.

He's got an ankle problem and while he was expected to play, he never got off the bench. He's worth keeping an eye on when healthy, as he could start at shooting guard until Bradley Beal is healthy again.
Oct 30 - 12:38 AM

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) is expected to play on Wednesday night.

Rice, who has been dealing with a sprained ankle, is expected to get solid minutes and production with Bradley Beal out for the next few weeks.
Oct 29 - 7:41 PM

Glenn Rice Jr. (ankle) will be available for Wednesday's opener barring a setback, according to Wizards head coach Randy Wittman.

Rice should see plenty of run with Bradley Beal (wrist) and Martell Webster (back) sidelined, but Otto Porter will likely absorb most of Rice's value as the starting shooting guard. We'll update Rice's availability after Wednesday's shootaround, but he's not worth starting in standard fantasy leagues.
Oct 28 - 1:26 PM

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) went through a full practice on Monday and is hopeful he'll be ready to suit up for opening night.

Rice will see some extra run with Bradley Beal (wrist) and Martell Webster (back) sidelined to start the season. However, it appears that Otto Porter has won the starting shooting guard job, which will make it difficult for Rice to sustain any sort of value.
Oct 27 - 6:19 PM

Updating a previous item, Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) is ready to go for opening night.

It's good news for the Wizards as a team dangerously thin at shooting guard right now. Rice could see some extra run with Bradley Beal (wrist) and Martell Webster (back) sidelined to start the season.

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) remains questionable for the start of the season.

Rice's ankle injury has dogged him for about two weeks now, and the updates on his progress have been rather scant. We're not considering him likely for the opener, but it doesn't sound like he should be out too long, either. Even with Bradley Beal (wrist) out, Rice isn't on the fantasy radar.
Oct 27 - 11:47 AM

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) did "a few more things" at practice on Friday.

It does not sound like he'll be ready to start the season, so we'll get a chance to find out if Otto Porter's terrific summer league and preseason translate to regular season ball. Porter is worth a look in standard leagues. Rice can be left on the wire.
Oct 24 - 3:03 PM

The Wizards have been "totally non-committal" on Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) for the season opener.

He hasn't been moving much at practice and it would appear he's closer to doubtful. If the Wizards feel comfortable with Garrett Temple and Otto Porter at the shooting guard spot, there's no need to rush Rice back into the lineup. If you're looking to make a pickup from the Bradley Beal (wrist) fallout, Porter is probably your guy in deeper leagues.
Oct 20 - 11:56 AM

Glen Rice Jr. (ankle) is making progress in his recovery and was seen taking jumpers at practice Sunday.

We expect him back very soon but he should still be considered questionable for opening night. Rice Jr. has a great chance to carve out a significant role in the Wizard's offense with Bradley Beal out so he may be worth a flier late in standard leagues.
Oct 19 - 2:43 PM

Glen Rice was in a walking boot to protect his sprained right ankle after Wednesday's game and he's expected to miss time with the injury, leaving him questionable for opening night.

He doesn't sound likely to play on Thursday and we're wondering who will start at shooting guard for the Wizards. It could be Otto Porter, who is really a forward, while journeyman Rasual Butler will likely get some run while Rice is out. Xavier Silas' name has come up as well, and PG Garrett Temple started there on Saturday. The Wizards are suddenly dangerously thin at shooting guard.
Oct 15 - 11:18 PM

Glen Rice Jr. left Wednesday's game with a sprained right ankle.

He had 11 points and four rebounds in 11 minutes, and should be considered day-to-day for now. He's got a shot at winning the starting job at shooting guard as long as Bradley Beal is out, but his two-game tryout has not gone well so far.
Oct 15 - 9:06 PM

Glen Rice Jr. made 1-of-6 from the field for two points against the Pistons on Sunday, adding just one steal and one turnover.

He started in place of Bradley Beal (wrist) and is probably the favorite to do so in the regular season. This is obviously not the start Rice wanted, but he had an awesome summer as the Las Vegas Summer League MVP. The key to Rice's success will be 3-pointers and defense, so he does offer alluring upside late in drafts. Hopefully, he'll be better next time out.
Oct 13 - 9:42 AM

Glen Rice scored a team-high 18 points against the Bulls on Monday with three assists, two steals, one block and three 3-pointeres in 21 minutes.

He had three shots in the paint and was 6-of-8 from the field overall. If he's going to get minutes, it'll be for his 3-point shooting because the Wizards have to replace Trevor Ariza and find someone to fill in for Martell Webster (back). Porter was ahead of Rice tonight, but he may have closed the gap a lot.
