Mike Muscala (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game vs. the Spurs.
He was originally probable, so maybe he didn't like how his ankle felt in warmups. With Muscala out again, the Hawks will continue to roll with a frontcourt rotation consisting of Dewayne Dedmon, Luke Babbitt and John Collins. Nov 20 - 7:22 PM

Date:

Mike Muscala (ankle) is probable to play Monday vs. the Spurs.

Muscala was available to play on Saturday but didn't actually step foot on the court, which could indicate he's not currently in the rotation. Whether he plays or not, he won't be receiving enough minutes to make a difference in any format.
Nov 19 - 4:50 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) didn't play vs. Boston on Saturday.

Muscala said he was available, so presumably coach Mike Budenholzer simply didn't include him in the rotation tonight. He's now missed seven straight games, having last played on Nov. 3, and his fantasy value is non-existent with Dewayne Dedmon playing well and John Collins soaking up the backup-center minutes.
Nov 18 - 10:43 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) said he will be available to play Saturday vs. the Celtics.

Muscala has missed six straight games. He had started five of the previous six contests he played in prior to the ankle injury and averaged 24.2 minutes per game during that stretch. His return will likely eat into the playing time of John Collins. Starter Dewayne Dedmon may see his minutes scaled back slightly as well.
Nov 18 - 11:09 AM

Mike Muscala (ankle) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Celtics.

The Hawks do have Ersan Ilyasova back now and they could always play John Collins at the four in some situations, so they may not need Muscala much. Collins is going to get almost all of the backup center minutes without Muscala as well.
Nov 17 - 4:56 PM

Coach Mike Budenholzer said Mike Muscala (ankle) participated in "70-80 percent of practice" on Friday "could be available" for Saturday's game vs. the Celtics.

Muscala, who has missed six straight contests for Atlanta, had started five of the previous six games he played prior to the ankle injury. Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins have logged additional minutes in his absence.
Nov 17 - 1:57 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) is doubtful to play Wednesday vs. Sacramento.

It looks like Wednesday will mark Muscala's sixth straight game on the sidelines, which will translate to more minutes for John Collins. Muscala isn't worth hanging onto in most formats.
Nov 14 - 4:12 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) won't play on Monday vs. the Pelicans.

This is Muscala's fifth game on the shelf and he could miss more time as well. Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins will have their hands full with DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis, while Luke Babbitt will see more minutes as well.
Nov 13 - 7:22 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) is doubtful to play Monday vs. the Pelicans.

This will be Muscala's fifth straight game on the sidelines which will translate to more run for Dewayne Dedmon, John Collins and Luke Babbitt. Muscala isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Nov 12 - 4:50 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) will not play against the Wizards on Saturday.

He did travel with the tea, but he'll be held out for his fourth straight. Dewayne Dedmon got himself into foul trouble on Friday, but he still managed a solid 13-point line in 22 minutes. John Collins should get all of the other backup center minutes and Luke Babbitt will likely start again.
Nov 11 - 5:47 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) is listed as doubtful in the game notes for Saturday's matchup vs. the Wizards.

Muscala is making progress and travelling with the team, but it appears he is not yet ready to return to the lineup. Saturday would be his fourth straight game on the sidelines. Luke Babbitt has started each of the Hawks last three games, and is averaging 12.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.7 treys in 31.1 minutes over that stretch.

Nov 11 - 12:56 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) is unlikely for Friday's game against the Pistons.

He is going to travel, but coach Mike Budenholzer said he plans to start the same five with Luke Babbitt at the four. John Collins should also get some decent run, but foul trouble has been a thorn in his side. Muscala isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Nov 9 - 5:35 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) will travel for Friday's game vs. the Pistons.

Coach Mike Budenholzer said Muscala may not be ready to play yet and added that he's more likely to return on Saturday vs. Washington. Coach Bud also confirmed that he will use the same starting lineup with Dewayne Dedmon and Luke Babbitt in the frontcourt. If Muscala is out again, John Collins could have a big night if he can stay out of foul trouble.
Nov 9 - 1:30 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) will not play vs. Cleveland on Sunday or against the Celtics on Monday.

Coach Mike Budenholzer wants to get him some extra rest, but believes he'll be back for Friday's game vs. the Pistons. The Hawks are thin up front with Ersan Ilyasova (knee) also out, so Luke Babbitt will enter the starting lineup.
Nov 5 - 1:50 PM

Mike Muscala (ankle) will not play against the Cavs on Sunday.

The Hawks are going to be very thin up front with Ersan Ilyasova (knee) also out. Coach Mike Budenholzer almost has to start John Collins here, or he could go small with Luke Babbitt or Nicolas Brussino. Collins will be a strong DFS play regardless. Muscala's fantasy owners can probably drop him.
