Sam Hinkie confirmed that he expects Pierre Jackson and Jordan McRae to play in at least one summer league for the 76ers.
The 76ers acquired yet another big man when they selected Jahlil Okafor during Thursday's NBA Draft, so they still need to find some answers for their backcourt. Jackson recently recovered from a torn Achilles, but he is an explosive scorer and he would be a really exciting player to watch in Philly. Both Jackson and McRae could potentially make the 76ers' final roster for the 2015-16 season, so they are worth keeping an eye on this summer. Jun 27 - 12:42 PM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) said he's planning to come off the bench as a sixth man next season.

He also said he's planning to play in Las Vegas Summer League. With the 76ers now having a bigger need in their frontcourt because of Joel Embiid (foot), the team may be undermanned at point guard and Jackson really could be a sneaky fantasy player to grab next season. He is a free agent, but Jackson has been working out with 76ers players at the team's practice facility and most signs point to him playing in Philly.

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) is set to suit up for the Sixers' Summer League team.

Jackson tore his Achilles during last year's Summer League, but he's now reportedly 100 percent healthy. He'll have a chance to land on the Sixers' regular-season roster if he can impress during Summer League, so we'll be tracking his offseason closely.
Jun 16 - 3:58 PM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) said his Achilles is "100 percent fine."

He still isn't scrimmaging yet, but is getting closer. Jackson had a devastating Achilles tear at summer league last year, which was too bad because he may have been looking at some heavy playing time. He's extremely exciting to watch and we're hoping to see him in Vegas.
Jun 10 - 5:29 PM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) was cleared for basketball activity.

He tore his Achilles in summer league, which was a really tough break for a guy who would have been in the rotation for the 76ers. Jackson is a very exciting player and even scored 58 points in a D-League game last season, so we'll be watching him this summer.
Apr 13 - 8:34 PM

The 76ers have waived PG Pierre Jackson (Achilles).

The Sixers gave Jackson a one-year deal with a $400k guarantee after his Achilles injury, which was essentially a gesture of goodwill from a team with plenty of salary-cap space. Jackson was understandably thrilled with the deal and there's a good chance he'll return with Philly once he's healthy, but he's expected to miss the entire 2014-15 season.

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) has started his rehab.

He had a gruesome Achilles tear at Orlando Pro Summer League back on July 5 and he's not expected to play this season. The Sixers signed him to a partially guaranteed deal and he could be back with the team in 2015-16.

The 76ers have signed point guard Pierre Jackson to a one-year, partially guaranteed deal.

He suffered a torn achilles on July 5th and is likely out for the regular season. Jackson has shown promise in his stints in the D-League, but his future in the NBA is now in doubt. It is a positive sign however, that the 76ers are willing to give Jackson a partially guaranteed deal despite his significant injury.

Pierre Jackson suffered a torn right Achilles on Saturday.

It didn't take long to confirm and sadly it sounds like it was a complete rupture. Jackson was acquired by the Sixers on draft day in exchange for Russ Smith and he probably would have been in the rotation, but he's likely going to be out for the season. He scored 58 points in a D-League game last year and it's unfortunate we'll have to wait a while to see him in the NBA.

Pierre Jackson left Saturday's game with a possible Achilles injury.

It did not look good. Jackson needed to be carried off the court by his teammates and could not put any weight on his foot whatsoever. The team will likely give him an MRI in the coming days, but it sounds like he could be out for a while.

The NBA announced the 76ers have traded away the draft rights to Russ Smith to the Pelicans for Pierre Jackson.

Pelicans general manager Dell Demps wouldn't comment on the trade and said it wasn't a done deal, so this is your official notification. Jackson can fill it up and even put up a 58-point effort in the D-League last year. If he gets 24 minutes somehow, he could have a high enough usage rate to be a factor in standard leagues.

Pierre Jackson will be traded to the Sixers in exchange for No. 47 pick Russ Smith, who was selected by the Hornets.

Jackson had a poor man's cult following after his 58-point outing in the D-League last year, and now he'll get a chance to cut his teeth in Philly where depth is still an issue. We'll have to see and hear a bit more before putting him on the radar in any normally sized league.

Pierre Jackson will participate in summer league in July and has been working out with the Pelicans at the team's voluntary workouts.

He was outstanding in the D-League last year, highlighted by a 58-point game. Jackson is a bit undersized at 5'10", but there's a good chance he'll be up with the Pelicans at some point this upcoming season. Plus, he should be a treat to watch at summer league.

Pierre Jackson was not traded on Thursday and will sign with Fenerbahçe Ülker in Turkey.

He's been the best player in the D-League all season and has a 58-point game to his credit. He will likely be back on the radar at some point and the Pelicans will keep his draft rights.

Pierre Jackson has been asked to be excused from Wednesday's D-League game on a chance a trade comes through for him, according to Yahoo! Sports.

He's destroying the D-League this season and has a 58-point game on his resume. Jackson is a dynamite scorer and has drawn some comparisons to Nate Robinson for his small stature and freakish athleticism. Owners in deep leagues might want to just take a flier on him on the off chance he winds up in a great situation. As a reminder, the Pelicans own his draft rights, but never signed him. Several NBA teams are interested.
