Pierre Jackson said he loves the challenge of guarding guys "who think it will be easy to score" against him.
"Shorter guys tend to be strong and quick with a lower center of gravity. We try to be annoying, for the most part," Jackson said. His defense actually wasn't too bad at Summer League while he didn't perform well from inside of 12 feet on the offensive side. Coming off an Achilles tear in 2014, the 5'10 Jackson is only a late-round sleeper in very deep leagues Aug 17 - 4:34 PM

Date:

The first season of Pierre Jackson's contract is guaranteed for $750,000.

Jackson signed a four-year, partially guaranteed deal to start his NBA career with the Sixers, and the hefty first-year guarantee indicates he'll be on the roster. With a paper-thin depth chart at point guard and Tony Wroten (knee) uncertain to begin the season, Jackson is a name to monitor.
Jul 20 - 8:30 AM

Pierre Jackson struggled against the Rockets during a loss on Friday, making 3-of-12 from the field for seven points with six rebounds, seven assists, one 3-pointer and six turnovers.

That's three sub-par games in a row for Jackson, especially on the scoring side of things. Jackson made just 34.4 percent from the field in his previous three games and his lack of size is really hurting him. He can create space from mid-range and beyond, but bigs have been causing him problems around the rim. For now, he's not worth drafting in most leagues.
Jul 17 - 6:46 PM

Pierre Jackson will play against the Nets on Wednesday.

He just signed his deal and will be back after getting some rest on Tuesday. Jackson said he's looking to get an in-game dunk in today, so hopefully he can come through for us. Also, with Jahlil Okafor out today, there should be a bigger chance for Jackson to get in the paint.
Jul 15 - 3:38 PM

Pierre Jackson officially signed with the 76ers on Tuesday, inking a partially-guaranteed four-year contract.

Jackson missed Tuesday's game with a groin injury but it doesn't sound serious and he hasn't been ruled out for the Summer League tournament. It's unclear whether his contract is guaranteed for 2015-16 but he's squarely on the fantasy radar given the uncertainty and opportunity of Philly's depth chart.
Jul 14 - 10:10 PM

Pierre Jackson (rest) didn't play on Tuesday.

He has been playing through a groin injury and it sounds like Philly simply wanted to protect him from overuse. Jackson also said that he's confident in the health of his surgically-repaired Achilles, but he's not a lock to make a regular-season roster.
Jul 14 - 8:08 PM

Pierre Jackson struggled with his shot during Sunday's loss to the Celtics, scoring nine points on 3-of-12 shooting, to go with two 3-pointers, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and four turnovers over 30 minutes.

Jackson is playing for a contract, but he'll need to land in an ideal situation to have any fantasy value.
Jul 13 - 1:44 AM

Pierre Jackson looked great on Saturday in his return from an Achilles tear, scoring 15 points with two rebounds, one assist and three 3-pointers.

He created some really nice separation in his first game back in over a year. Jackson said after the game that he said he doesn't have any difference on explosiveness and he has been confident in his Achilles injury for six months. He also joked he's going to try and dunk in coming days. Jackson hasn't been signed yet and the 76ers will likely use this week to decide.
Jul 12 - 12:27 AM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) will start at point guard against the Lakers on Saturday.

This one should be fun and it'll be his first game since tearing his Achilles in the first game of summer league last year. Jackson can fill it up and even had a 58-point game in the D-League two seasons ago. We'll be sure to update him tomorrow. He's not signed yet.
Jul 10 - 9:02 PM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles, groin) did not practice on Wednesday.

Jackson has said that he will play in Las Vegas Summer League, but missing Wednesday's practice puts him in jeopardy of missing Friday's opener, as he'd only have a maximum of one practice before the Summer League begins. We'll continue to track his progress, but Jackson will need to land in an ideal situation to be considered a viable option in standard fantasy leagues.
Jul 8 - 11:47 AM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles, groin) said that he will play at Las Vegas Summer League.

Jackson has missed his first two mini-camp workouts due to a groin injury, and he is also recovering from a torn Achilles that he suffered during last year's Summer League. Jackson will try and earn himself a contract during Summer League, and it's been reported that there's mutual interest between him and the 76ers.
Jul 7 - 4:26 PM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) is not at Utah for summer league.

There was some hope Jackson was going to play in one of the summer leagues, so apparently that one event will be in Las Vegas. All indications are that he's healthy and over his Achilles tear from last summer. Jackson is not under contract with the 76ers, but they're the favorites to land him.
Jul 6 - 7:36 PM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) is not going to play on Monday and his status for summer league is up in the air.

He was one of the most exciting players in the D-League two seasons ago, but suffered an Achilles tear at summer league last year. Jackson has already been doing some work at practice and may just be extra cautious. Hopefully, he can get ready to play for Vegas.
Jul 6 - 5:00 PM

Sam Hinkie confirmed that he expects Pierre Jackson and Jordan McRae to play in at least one summer league for the 76ers.

The 76ers acquired yet another big man when they selected Jahlil Okafor during Thursday's NBA Draft, so they still need to find some answers for their backcourt. Jackson recently recovered from a torn Achilles, but he is an explosive scorer and he would be a really exciting player to watch in Philly. Both Jackson and McRae could potentially make the 76ers' final roster for the 2015-16 season, so they are worth keeping an eye on this summer.
Jun 27 - 12:42 PM

Pierre Jackson (Achilles) said he's planning to come off the bench as a sixth man next season.

He also said he's planning to play in Las Vegas Summer League. With the 76ers now having a bigger need in their frontcourt because of Joel Embiid (foot), the team may be undermanned at point guard and Jackson really could be a sneaky fantasy player to grab next season. He is a free agent, but Jackson has been working out with 76ers players at the team's practice facility and most signs point to him playing in Philly.
