According to general manager Tim Connelly, the Nuggets will be aggressive in trade talks as the NBA Draft draws closer.
"We want to be aggressive," Connelly said. "We're looking at any and all scenarios, and we've already proactively made a lot of those calls. We'll see what we can do to make it interesting and hopefully give Coach (Mike Malone) the best team possible." The Nuggets will have the No. 7 and No. 57 pick in the draft, but they will likely look at the possibility of adding another first-round pick. Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried have been in the rumor mill for a while now, and the speculation will only heat up as we approach the draft. Jun 21 - 1:06 PM

Mike Malone hinted that there will be some changes to the current Denver roster by the time that training camp begins.

"The roster we have today is probably not the roster we have in training camp," said Malone. Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried have heard their names float around the rumor mill for some time now, although Malone has already offered some praise for the way Faried plays, so it seems like Lawson may be the more likely candidate to be sent away from the Nuggets organization. If the Nuggets go with a point guard in the 2015 NBA draft that could be a sign that Lawson's days in Denver are numbered.

The Nuggets have reached an agreement with Michael Malone to become their head coach.

While it seemed the Nuggets hiring Pete D'Alessandro would have hurt Malone's chances, PDA is not involved in the basketball operations. Before DeMarcus Cousins had an illness in December, the Kings were one of the pleasant surprises in the NBA, but things went south quickly. Malone will take over for what looks to be a rebuilding Nuggets team.

Mike Malone's head coaching candidacy is picking up steam in Denver, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Malone has reportedly positioned himself for a second interview with the Nuggets, but Stein also adds that there is a strong possibility that interim head coach Melvin Hunt could end up with the job. We'll keep an eye on this story, but it's starting to look like either Malone or Hunt will be coaching the Nuggets when training camp starts.
Jun 9 - 10:57 AM

Mike Malone has reportedly earned himself a second interview for the head coaching position in Denver.

The Nuggets are looking to fill the head coaching position before the draft on June 25, and so far they have interviewed Melvin Hunt, Mike D'Antoni and Don Newman in addition to Malone. With Malone getting a second interview, it appears he's in serious consideration for the job, and this is a story will continue to follow closely.
Jun 7 - 7:07 PM

Mike Malone interviewed with the Denver Nuggets about their head coaching vacancy on Tuesday.

Malone joins interim head coach Melvin Hunt and Mike D'Antoni on Denver's list of candidates as it looks like the Nuggets are getting closer to finding their next head coach. Though Malone was let go by the Kings during the 2014-15 season, he had the support of most of the locker room and would be a solid hire for the Nuggets.
Jun 4 - 1:05 PM

The Nuggets have had conversations with Mike Malone about their head coaching vacancy.

It's not a formal interview just yet, but it could happen in the coming days. Malone's time in Sacramento went south all of the sudden, but he's part of the reason DeMarcus Cousins busted loose this year. He's a dark horse to take over in Denver.
Jun 3 - 6:03 PM

The Kings have fired head coach Mike Malone, with assistant Tyrone Corbin taking over as the interim coach.

Malone reportedly "didn't meet win-loss expectations of ownership," after the Kings fell to 11-13 without DeMarcus Cousins for the past nine games. Corbin will be "afforded [the] chance" to coach the Kings all year, and he's expected to be push the team's pace at the insistence of owner Vivek Ranadive and GM Pete D'Alessandro. Our own Aaron Bruski reports that the Kings have had internal discussions about and will target George Karl. In addition, Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Vinny Del Negro may be a long-term candidate for the position.

Mike Malone would like his team to run a more team-oriented offense like the Spurs.

"The reality is we cannot come back and play the same way we played last year," Malone said. "Changes have to be made. And the fact that all three of those guys [Ray McCallum, Ben McLemore, and Nik Stauskas] who are going to play on our perimeter played unselfishly [during Summer League]... they’re moving, they’re attacking, they’re playing with pace. Those guys can help set the tone when our veterans come back in September." Malone has made it a point to emphasize ball-movement, and defense as the Kings try to improve on last year's record of 28-54.

The city of Sacramento will spend $750,000 on lawyer fees defending itself against a lawsuit charging that city officials offered backroom "secret subsidies" to the Kings as part of the $477 million arena deal approved last month, according to the Sacramento Bee.

We probably shouldn't have passed along this item since the suit has been roundly decried as frivolous by multiple sources with a lengthy track record of success reporting on this item. But here it is if you're into that sort of thing.

The Kings are launching an analytics crowdsourcing program to help them make their draft pick.

This might just be for show, but the Kings have been on the cutting edge of their fan interaction. Their fan base had a lot to do with keeping them in Sacramento and they're hoping to make progress on their new arena. Although, a vote on the new arena will not happen on May 13, but team officials remain confident it will be built for the 2016 season.

The Kings hired NBA executive Chris Granger as their new team president on Wednesday.

As reported by Sam Amick, Granger was "heavily involved as league liaison" while the Kings fought (successfully) to approve a new arena deal and stay in Sacramento. He was the former executive VP of Team Marketing and Business Operations for the league, and his hiring represents another step away from the old Maloof regime.

Mike Bratz will join Pete D'Alessandro in the Kings front office as assistant GM, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Bratz will reunite with D'Alessandro after the two spent time together in Denver. The Kings have completely remade the front office under Vivek Ranadive and it's for the better.

Mike Malone says his father, Brendan Malone, will join his coaching staff with the Kings.

You may remember Brendan Malone as the first coach of the expansion Raptors. He also had a brief run as the interim coach in Cleveland before the Mike Brown era began. Brendan Malone most recently served as an assistant to Stan Van Gundy with the Magic. He'll now join former Ohio State assistant Chris Jent on Mike Malone's first NBA coaching staff.

The Kings have reached an agreement with Pete D'Alessandro to be their general manager, according to Yahoo! Sports.

D'Alessandro was the VP for the Denver Nuggets, who lose yet another key guy in their front offices. The Kings were even rumored to have interest in TNT's Kenny Smith for their GM position, but D'Alessandro has a solid track record and should help the Kings improve. Sam Amick previously reported that Nets assistant GM Bobby Marks would follow D'Alessandro if he landed the Kings job, but that has yet to be confirmed.
