Phil Pressey will join the Warriors for training camp, according to David Pick.
Pressey finished the 2015-16 season in the D-League and will now attempt to hook on as a bench player with the Warriors. He could land himself a roster spot with a strong training camp, but Pressey won't have any fantasy value for the 2016-17 season if he's with the Warriors. Aug 16 - 11:14 AM

Date:

Phil Pressey is expected to play for Detroit's summer league team.

Pressey had been playing in the D-League to close out the 2015-16 season, and while his lack of size is always going to be an issue, he'll try to get at least a training camp invite with a strong showing this summer.

Phil Pressey is back with the Idaho Stampede in the D-League.

He had a decent stint with the Suns on two 10-day deals, but his chances of making the final roster were always slim. We will let you know if another NBA team gives him a look.
Mar 13 - 9:41 AM

Phil Pressey played just two minutes on Thursday with one steal.

The Suns went without a point guard quite a bit in this game and Pressey is almost a lock to not be back after his current 10-day deal runs out next week.
Mar 3 - 10:07 PM

The Suns will sign Phil Pressey to a second 10-day contract on Tuesday.

He is averaging 5.0 points, 6.0 assists and 3.3 turnovers in 22.0 minutes per game as Ronnie Price's backup, so there's not much fantasy value here. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 29 - 11:20 PM

Phil Pressey played 12 minutes with no points, two rebounds, four assists and two turnovers against the Grizzlies on Saturday.

He had a nice little run, but it's becoming somewhat clear he won't last long. Pressey could get a second 10-day, but it would be a major shock to see him get signed for the season. He won't have much value next month.
Feb 28 - 12:51 AM

Suns coach Earl Watson praised Phil Pressey for his defense.

"Small guys have to change the game," Watson said. "You can’t be small and not play defense. Otherwise, we can find somebody 6-5 like Archie [Goodwin] and just guard the ball. Small guys have to create tempo, energy, deflections and steals. Every fan loves to see a small guy play fast and aggressively. Phil just does it naturally." Pressey is averaging 6.7 points and 6.7 assists as the backup PG in Phoenix, and his impressive play may earn him another 10-day contract with the Suns.
Feb 26 - 12:41 PM

Phil Pressey scored 10 points with four assists, two steals and four turnovers against the Nets on Thursday.

He came close to splitting the minutes at the point and the Suns even with two-PG lineups at times. Coach Earl Watson has talked about wanting point guards running his offense, so Pressey may continue to see minutes close to 20. He's only worth a look if you are dying for a point guard because he is only on a 10-day deal.
Feb 26 - 12:03 AM

Phil Pressey handed out 10 assists in Monday's blowout loss to the Clippers, adding four points on 2-of-7 shooting with one board and one steal.

He saw 28 minutes of action as the backup point guard and looked solid, but he did miss both of his 3-pointers and had three turnovers as well. The Suns have moved Archie Goodwin to the two in order to open up minutes for Ronnie Price and Pressey, but keep in mind that Brandon Knight (groin) could return in a couple of weeks. Owners in deeper leagues should just put Pressey on their radar for now. Pressey is currently on a 10-day contract.
Feb 23 - 1:27 AM

Phil Pressey made his Suns debut on Sunday, coming off the bench for six points, five assists, two rebounds, one steal and a career-high three blocks in 28 minutes.

Earl Watson said his team needs a PG on the court at all times and that's exactly what Pressey gave them tonight, his four turnovers and five personal fouls notwithstanding. The blocks are an obvious fluke from the 5'11" point guard and he'll have a hard time helping fantasy owners while sharing minutes with Ronnie Price.
Feb 21 - 8:27 PM

The Suns will sign D-League point guard Phil Pressey to a 10-day contract.

This could be a sign that Brandon Knight (groin) still isn't close a return. The Suns are rebuilding for the future and may be looking for hidden gems considering they have already given guys like Orlando Johnson and Jordan McRae 10-day deals this season, but Pressey likely won't have more than a limited role in Phoenix. Leave him on the wire.
Feb 20 - 10:36 AM

The 76ers have waived guard Phil Pressey on Friday.

With Tony Wroten (knee) expected to return on Saturday, this was an expected move for the franchise. Pressey will either head to the D-League or test his luck overseas.
Fri, Dec 4, 2015 11:05:00 AM

Phil Pressey (illness) scored nine points with one 3-pointer, three rebounds, five assists and one steal in 19 minutes vs. the Pacers.

He also committed three of the Sixers' 31 turnovers, the most any team has committed since the Warriors in 2000-01. Pressey, Isaiah Canaan and T.J. McConnell all played 20 minutes or fewer tonight.
Wed, Nov 18, 2015 09:59:00 PM

Phil Pressey (illness) is doubtful to play on Monday against the Mavs.

That means Isaiah Canaan should get more backup point-guard minutes. T.J. McConnell should be in most weekly lineups this week.
Mon, Nov 16, 2015 05:24:00 PM

Phil Pressey (stomach virus) is questionable for Monday's game vs. Dallas.

Pressey is coming off of his best game of the season with eight points, three rebounds and six assists in just 15.5 minutes during Saturday's loss to San Antonio, so this is unfortunate timing. Pressey's playing time is an indictment on Isaiah Canaan, once laughably pointed to as Philadelphia's potential point guard of the future. If Pressey sits, Canaan will be the only choice to backup T.J. McConnell.
