Phil Pressey's contract with the Blazers is guaranteed for the one-year minimum.
He will likely be competing with Tim Frazier for minutes at point guard behind Damian Lillard, but his path to playing time could be even more complicated if the Blazers decide to let C.J. McCollum play some point as well. For now, Pressey isn't worth a look in almost any league. Jul 25 - 9:38 AM

Blazers sign G Phil Pressey and F Cliff Alexander.

It's still unknown how the Blazers are going to address their point guard situation. We're hoping they bring C.J. McCollum off the bench to get a chunk of point-guard minutes, but he'll get his time regardless. As for Pressey, he has been a disaster as a scorer so far in his career, making just 33.3 percent from the field in his two seasons with the Celtics.

The Celtics have reportedly waived G Phil Pressey.

Pressey likely knew his time was coming to an end in Boston after the Celtics drafted Terry Rozier with the No. 16 overall selection in the 2015 NBA draft. Pressey will now look to sign a minimum-level deal elsewhere, but he's not going to be a fantasy factor regardless of where he winds up.

Phil Pressey will not play at the Las Vegas Summer League.

Pressey practiced with the Celtics during the Utah Summer League, but he never got any action. The Celtics have until July 15th to exercise their team option on him for the 2015-16 season, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Even if Pressey is retained, he likely won't be in the rotation for the Celtics.
Jul 11 - 1:33 PM

Phil Pressey will play in summer league.

It's going to his third year and he still needs a lot of work. With the Celtics adding even more backcourt players to go with Isaiah Thomas, Pressey is going to have to fight for his roster spot.
Jul 3 - 2:32 PM

Phil Pressey came off the bench for 11 points, five rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block on 4-of-6 shooting in 18 minutes.

The stat line was nice, and a bit surprising with the return of Isaiah Thomas, and it's hard to see him doing this again any time soon. Ignore him for now, as the Celtics were down 17 at halftime and Brad Stevens gave Pressey a look in hopes of getting back into the game.
Mar 26 - 1:01 AM

Phil Pressey played 18 minutes against the Spurs on Friday with four points, four boards, three assists, one steal and one turnover.

With Marcus Smart likely to be suspended and Isaiah Thomas (back) still out, Pressey could get some more run on Sunday against the Pistons. Still, he's one of the worst offensive players in the NBA and can be ignored in almost all formats.
Mar 21 - 2:16 AM

Brad Stevens praised Phil Pressey for staying ready despite an uncertain role with the Celtics this season.

"In our organization, he works the right way. If he doesn't play, he's the loudest guy on the bench; and if he does play, he's an energizer," Stevens said. Pressey admitted he's had trouble in the role and has faced some difficulties as a result, but he didn't offer any excuses and has offered a nice spark in Isaiah Thomas' (elbow, butt) absence. That all being said, Pressey belongs in the free-agent pool.

Mar 16 - 12:26 PM

Phil Pressey double-doubled against the Magic on Friday with 10 points, four rebounds, 10 dimes, two steals, one block and three turnovers.

He filled in for most of Isaiah Thomas' (back, elbow) minutes and turned in his best game of the season. Pressey is one of the worst shooting guards in the NBA, so making 4-of-5 from the field is a fluke. Unless you're really desperate, keep him on the wire.
Mar 13 - 11:32 PM

Phil Pressey was recalled from the D-League by the Celtics on Friday.

He's averaging just 3.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 11.6 minutes per game this season with the Celtics, so there's no need to consider him in almost any league. Leave Pressey on the wire.
Feb 6 - 1:29 PM

Phil Pressey was assigned to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA D-League on Thursday.

Pressey has averages of 3.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 11.6 minutes per game this season, but he won't see consistent minutes unless Marcus Smart goes down with an injury. Leave Pressey on the wire.
Feb 5 - 3:46 PM

Phil Pressey could get more minutes on Monday against the Suns.

It's unclear how much or who will lose, but it's unlikely to matter much in the grand scheme of things. Pressey is only worth owning in deep leagues while Marcus Smart (ankle) is out.
Mon, Nov 17, 2014 05:51:00 PM

Phil Pressey is expected to join the Celtics' rotation with Marcus Smart (ankle) sidelined.

Pressey was called an "energizer bunny" by Brad Stevens, and while it won't be a large role, Pressey will be in the rotation for however long Smart is sidelined. We would be surprised if he sees north of 15 minutes per game with any regularity.
Mon, Nov 10, 2014 11:44:00 AM

Phil Pressey played 13 minutes off the bench against the Pacers on Friday with five points, one rebound, four assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.

With Marcus Smart (ankle) and Rajon Rondo (hand) out, Pressey is going to start against the Bulls on Saturday. He isn't much of a stat stuffer, but he could have a decent game as a deep-league plug-and-play guy.
Sat, Nov 8, 2014 12:44:00 AM

The Celtics have guaranteed the contract of Phil Pressey by not waving him on Tuesday.

He'll have to fight for minutes behind Rajon Rondo and rookie Marcus Smart, but he looks like a lock for a roster spot this season.
