The Nuggets announced Pete D'Alessandro will be the Senior Vice President of Business and Team Operations.
"Pete’s addition to our Operations team is a natural product of that evolution and his experiences over his professional career have put him in a unique position to assist me in multiple areas ranging from league operations to team budgeting," Nuggets president Josh Kroenke said. "All Basketball Operations remain the same and all Player Personnel inquiries should continue to be directed to Tim Connelly." That's probably a good thing after PDA's disastrous record in Sacramento -- including the worst coach firing we've seen in years and several unsavory leaks to various media that undermined the franchise. Former Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro "fought for" the firing of Michael Malone last December, according to Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee.

This report is full of information and is attached in the link below, but here are the main reports per Jones: Malone was fired against DeMarcus Cousins' wishes, D’Alessandro was the reason former director player pro personnel Shareef Abdur-Rahim left the team before this past season, D’Alessandro was stripped of his decision-making power this spring when owner Vivek Ranadive hired Vlade Divac, and D’Alessandro had told Cousins he didn’t want to hire Karl. Our own Aaron Bruski confirmed most of the details in the report except for the portion in which owner Vivek Ranadive forced the hiring of Karl, which sources tell him was a PDA push from start to finish.

Kings' general manager Pete D'Alessandro has accepted a high-ranking front office job with the Denver Nuggets according to Adrian Wojnarowksi of Yahoo Sports.

The deal hasn't been completed yet, but D'Alessandro is expected to take on an internal operations position according to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post. The Kings' front office has been in shambles for some time now, so the writing was on the wall for D'Alesandro. On a side note, Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee hinted that this hurts Mike Malone's chances of getting the head coaching position (Malone was let go by the Kings earlier in the season), so this will definitely be a situation worth monitoring.

Kings' GM Pete D'Alessandro, who has lost authority to VP of basketball and franchise operations Vlade Divac, may soon leave Sacramento's front office.

D'Alessandro has lost the room according to our own Aaron Bruski and this story is unsurprising to say the least. It sounds like the Kings would do better to move on so they can start rebuilding that franchise.

The Kings ownership group has asked Sacramento's City Council to threaten eminent domain in order to expedite the Kings' purchase of a building critical to their new arena plans.

A New York real estate firm owns the building, which will be vacant in the fall, and the invocaton of eminent domain is more of a negotiating ploy than an imminent threat. The Kings plan to build a new arena downtown at a cost of $448 million, supported by $258 million in public subsidies.
