Solomon Hill (rest) scored three points on 1-of-3 shooting in his return from a one-game absence on Thursday, adding one assist and one 3-pointer across 13 minutes.
The Pelicans are gradually increasing Hill’s minutes limit, but it’s unlikely he’ll be a large enough part of the rotation this season to make a difference in fantasy hoops. Leave him on the wire. Mar 22 - 11:10 PM

Date:

Solomon Hill (rest) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.

The Pelicans are playing three games in three nights, so Hill will hit the sidelines for this one as he continues to work his way back into game shape following the hamstring tear. He's not a huge part of the rotation in New Orleans, so his absence will have a minimal impact in fantasy hoops.
Mar 21 - 12:17 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring) is starting vs. the Mavericks on Tuesday.

This will allow coach Alvin Gentry to keep his second unit together while Jrue Holiday (flu) is out. Hill will be limited to 8-10 minutes and can be ignored in fantasy.
Mar 20 - 7:55 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring) said he expects to play 8-10 minutes Tuesday vs. the Mavs.

Hill logged eight minutes off the Pelicans bench in his season debut on Sunday. He will likely be kept under 20 minutes for the foreseeable future. He should be left on waivers in all formats.
Mar 20 - 12:05 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring) returned to action on Sunday with one assist in eight minutes off the Pelicans' bench.

Hill was on a strict minute-limit in his season debut, and the Pelicans aren't likely to ramp up his playing time too quickly. In addition to his long rehab from a torn hamstring, coach Alvin Gentry is trying to shorten player's stints on the court, a move he felt "gave everyone more juice" during Sunday's impressive home win. Hill can stay on the waiver wire in any fantasy format.
Mar 18 - 9:15 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring tear) will play roughly 8-10 minutes on Sunday vs. the Celtics.

Hill will be making his season debut today, but we'd expect New Orleans to ease him back into things very slowly. He belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Mar 18 - 4:28 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring) will have heavy restrictions if he's cleared to play on Sunday vs. Boston.

The Pelicans play a whopping five games over the next six days, but Hill is safe to leave on the wire for now. "There's a chance that he might be able to play a few minutes tomorrow," coach Alvin Gentry said on Saturday. Hill has yet to play this season after undergoing hamstring surgery in October, but once cleared, he'll give the Pelicans some much-needed wing depth. He'll be listed as questionable Sunday.
Mar 18 - 9:36 AM

Solomon Hill (hamstring) could play on Sunday.

He's been out for the season, but he has been running since back in December. He'll have some heavy limits on his playing time, so he won't be a fantasy asset for a few weeks. He could take a few minutes from guys like Darius Miller.
Mar 17 - 5:34 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring) will remain on the sidelines for Tuesday's game against the Hornets.

Head coach Alvin Gentry hinted that Hill is on the cusp of his return, but Tuesday will not be the day. He'll be eased back into things anyway, so there's no reason to pay Hill any attention in fantasy hoops.
Mar 12 - 4:48 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring surgery) could return as soon as next week, according to coach Alvin Gentry.

"We’re so close to the finish line that we’re definitely not going to rush the situation now," Gentry said. "But I could see a situation where he might be able to play a few minutes here and there." You'd have to be in an extremely deep league to even have Hill on the radar.
Mar 11 - 6:31 PM

Solomon Hill (hamstring surgery) is not expected to play on the upcoming three-game road trip, but he has participated in a practice and Alvin Gentry called his progress "encouraging."

Remember this guy?! He tore his hamstring before the season started and we've heard very little in terms of meaningful updates, but it sounds like we're finally reaching a point where he could be close to a return. The Pelicans could certainly use Hill—even in a limited capacity—and it sounds like the first opportunity for a potential return would be on Friday, March 9. For now, just keep an eye on the situation as it unfolds over the next week.
Mar 3 - 1:49 PM

The Pelicans expect Solomon Hill (hamstring surgery) to return this season, but he remains out indefinitely.

"Have to let it play out," said coach Alvin Gentry, when asked about Hill's potential return. "He's still got a ways to go before he's able to get back on the court and actually play." Given Hill is only running, shooting, and lifting weights and not participating in any team activities, we're not expecting him to return to be any kind of fantasy factor. At this time, a return as early as February is conceivable, but he could also be out far longer than that. Given the uncertainty, there's no reason to touch him in any fantasy format.

Solomon Hill (torn hamstring) could be back on the court as soon as February according to Pelicans GM Dell Demps.

Hill wasn't a fantasy target before the injury, so he's safe to cross off draft boards since we won't see him until the All-Star break at the earliest. In Hill's absence, the Pelicans will likely use a committee to soak up his minutes that could include E'Twaun Moore, Tony Allen, Darius Miller and Jordan Crawford.

Solomon Hill underwent surgery to repair a torn hamstring and "could miss much of the regular season" according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Pelicans are already very thin at small forward and it's unclear how much Quincy Pondexter (knee) will be able to contribute after missing the past two seasons. The Pelicans may look to add another SF, but if not, they might give E'Twaun Moore and Jordan Crawford some minutes there. Hill averaged 7.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 triples in just under 30 minutes per game last season and wasn't on the standard-league radar before this news. For what it's worth, the recovery period on this sort of injury generally tends to be in the 6-8 month range.
Sun, Aug 27, 2017 12:59:00 PM

Solomon Hill played 41 minutes and hit 5-of-11 shots (all 3-pointers) for 15 points, four rebounds, a steal and a block in Tuesday's 134-131 loss to the Nuggets.

That does it for the Pelicans' playoff hopes, but while we worry about Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday being shut down, it's hard to imagine Hill being shut down. Maybe he'll build on this game and finish up the regular season on a high note.
