The Pacers have decided to decline Solomon Hill's option for the 2016-17 season.
The 25-year-old will now become an unrestricted free agent and should have his fair share of suitors. "Like I told Solomon, the best thing ever happened to him was us putting a boot in his butt," team president Larry Bird said. While Hill only averaged 4.2 points in 14.7 minutes per game last season, he was able to finish the season strong and averaged 12.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.9 three-pointers in 29.1 minutes per game in April. He's not a must-draft player in standards leagues, but Hill will be a worth a late-round flier if he lands in the right situation. May 5 - 11:31 AM

Solomon Hill scored two points with six rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes against the Raptors on Monday.

Unsurprisingly, Hill couldn't keep his momentum going from a nice 13-point game on Saturday. Hill is unlikely to meet value even as a punt play in DFS.
Apr 18 - 9:50 PM

Solomon Hill made 1-of-3 from the field and all 10 from the line for 13 points with two rebounds and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday.

He was very good and the forward combo of Paul George and Solomon Hill worked out nicely. Hill was not very effective in his 64 minutes against the Raptors this season, but the Pacers ran a lot of different action with him. While this was great for Hill, it's still tough to trust him as a DFS punt.
Apr 16 - 4:11 PM

Solomon Hill scored a season-high 25 points against the Bucks during a 97-92 win on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, three assists, four steals and seven 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

He was great and basically stepped into Paul George's role tonight. Hill might be more important in the series against the Pistons because of how they like to space the floor. Of course, he won't be worth using in DFS or in postseason leagues.
Apr 14 - 12:35 AM

The Pacers clinched a playoff spot with a win on Sunday, aided by Solomon Hill's 13 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench.

Hill made 6-of-9 shots for his third consecutive solid game, as efficient shooting and active defense have endeared him to Frank Vogel. Indiana moved into a virtual tie with the idle Pistons and they control their own fate -- if they win their final two games, they'll earn the No. 7 seed regardless of how the Pistons' fare this week. The No. 7 seed is slated to face the Raptors in the first round, while the No. 8 seed will face the Cavaliers, so they'll be coming to play on Tuesday.
Apr 10 - 9:05 PM

Solomon Hill started the second half of Wednesday's game and finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, one block and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes of action.

Hill had 11 points and five rebounds in the first half and was effective vs. Kevin Love defensively, so his terrific play prompted Frank Vogel to deploy him ahead of Lavoy Allen after halftime. He gives the Pacers a versatile defender who can knock down sporadic 3-pointers, but his peripheral role in the offense makes him a non-factor in typical fantasy leagues.
Apr 6 - 10:06 PM

Solomon Hill started the second half of Wednesday's game in place of Lavoy Allen.

Hill had a strong half and coach Frank Vogel rewarded him with the in-game promotion. Check back after the game to see how he fares.
Apr 6 - 8:33 PM

Solomon Hill played one minute against the Nets on Saturday with no stats.

Paul George (leg) did play and looked totally fine, so there is little reason to stash Hill. Even if George did miss time, Hill would only have value in 16-team leagues.
Mar 26 - 8:46 PM

If Paul George (leg, game-time decision) can't play on Saturday, Solomon Hill would start.

George is going through warmups right now, so we'll have word soon on his status. While Hill would start, C.J. Miles would be the more appealing play.
Mar 26 - 4:38 PM

Solomon Hill got a spot start against the Hornets on Friday with eight points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

The move was based on the matchup to neutralize Marvin Williams after Marvin dropped 26 points on them last month. Coach Frank Vogel already confirmed Hill will come off the bench and Myles Turner will start on Saturday, so this line can essentially be ignored.
Mar 4 - 10:00 PM

Solomon Hill will start Friday's game vs. the Hornets, shifting Myles Turner to a reserve role.

Frank Vogel feels that Turner has struggled to defend Marvin Williams this season, so he's deploying a smaller lineup with Paul George shifting to PF. In his only other start this season, Hill scored eight points with five rebounds, two assists and one steal in just 21 minutes of action.
Mar 4 - 6:51 PM

Solomon Hill had four points, one rebound, one assist and one steal in 16 minutes off the Pacers' bench on Wednesday.

Hill was mentioned in trade rumors earlier this season, connected to the Pelicans, and the Pacers may look to move him before the impending trade deadline. If he stays in Indiana he'll remain a fantasy non-entity while competing for minutes with C.J. Miles, Glenn Robinson III and Chase Budinger.
Feb 10 - 10:18 PM

Solomon Hill failed to do much of anything during his first start of the season on Friday, tallying just eight points on 3-of-6 shooting to go with five boards, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes.

Hill could head back to the bench as soon as Saturday with George Hill (personal) set to return to the lineup, so there's no reason to swoop him up in any leagues after he earned the spot-start tonight.
Jan 23 - 1:51 AM

Solomon Hill will slide into the starting lineup for Friday's game vs. the Warriors, sending Lavoy Allen to the bench.

Hill hasn't done much this season, owning meager averages of 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds on 39.3 percent shooting, so he's not a great play in most leagues despite the increased opportunity for playing time tonight. Allen, Jordan Hill and Myles Turner will get some extended run tonight with Ian Mahinmi (ankle) sidelined, with Turner offering the most upside.

Solomon Hill chipped in six points, six boards, two assists, one steal and two blocks vs. the Nuggets on Sunday, in a season-high 26 minutes off the bench.

The Pacers shot 9-of-19 beyond the arc tonight, with Hill going 2-of-2, which was a far cry from the 17.0 percent Indiana shot over their past three games. Hill was reportedly on the trade block earlier this season and he's not a fantasy option in any leagues -- he only surfaced in the rotation tonight because Rodney Stuckey and George Hill were both unavailable.
