Solomon Hill (torn hamstring) could be back on the court as soon as February according to Pelicans GM Dell Demps.
Hill wasn't a fantasy target before the injury, so he's safe to cross off draft boards since we won't see him until the All-Star break at the earliest. In Hill's absence, the Pelicans will likely use a committee to soak up his minutes that could include E'Twaun Moore, Tony Allen, Darius Miller and Jordan Crawford. Sep 25 - 1:41 PM

Solomon Hill underwent surgery to repair a torn hamstring and "could miss much of the regular season" according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Pelicans are already very thin at small forward and it's unclear how much Quincy Pondexter (knee) will be able to contribute after missing the past two seasons. The Pelicans may look to add another SF, but if not, they might give E'Twaun Moore and Jordan Crawford some minutes there. Hill averaged 7.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 triples in just under 30 minutes per game last season and wasn't on the standard-league radar before this news. For what it's worth, the recovery period on this sort of injury generally tends to be in the 6-8 month range.
Aug 27 - 12:59 PM

Solomon Hill played 41 minutes and hit 5-of-11 shots (all 3-pointers) for 15 points, four rebounds, a steal and a block in Tuesday's 134-131 loss to the Nuggets.

That does it for the Pelicans' playoff hopes, but while we worry about Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday being shut down, it's hard to imagine Hill being shut down. Maybe he'll build on this game and finish up the regular season on a high note.
Apr 5 - 12:38 AM

Solomon Hill (foot) scored seven points with four rebounds, one assist and two 3-pointesr against the Mavs on Wednesday.

With Jrue Holiday, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis just taking so many shots in the first unit, Hill won't have enough opportunity to produce on the stat sheet for fantasy owners. His foot injury didn't seem to bother him today.
Mar 30 - 12:57 AM

Solomon Hill (foot) will play against the Mavs on Wednesday.

He was questionable to play with this foot injury. With DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) back in action, there likely won't be enough shots to go around for a guy like Hill to have fantasy value.
Mar 29 - 6:25 PM

Solomon Hill (sore right foot) is questionable to play Wednesday vs. the Mavs.

This is the first we're hearing of a foot issue for Hill, and if both he and DeMarcus Cousins (ankle) can't give it a go tonight, Alvin Gentry will need to get creative with his rotations. It's possible that Dante Cunningham could move to the three, with Domantas Motiejunas starting at the four and Anthony Davis at the five, and if that's the situation that plays out, Motiejunas may be someone to consider as a deep league streamer or DFS punt play. Stay tuned.

Solomon Hill scored five points with five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 34 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Tuesday.

As expected, Hill has come down to earth after his 30-point explosion on Mar. 17. Hill hit just 1-of-7 shots from the field, and with only two more games on the schedule this week, he's more of a streaming option in deeper formats. He was averaging 9.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists and 0.9 steals in his previous 10 games.
Mar 22 - 12:00 AM

Solomon Hill followed up his 30-point eruption with 13 points, two 3-pointers, five rebounds, five assists, three steals and one turnover in 35 minutes.

Hill went off in the absence of DeMarcus Cousins, who was back tonight after missing one game, but he still carved out a strong across-the-board fantasy line. We're skeptical that he can keep up this level of play, or anywhere near it, but in fairness he's played well in four of his past five games. He's worth a look until he cools off.
Mar 19 - 8:58 PM

Solomon Hill scored a career-high 30 points against the Rockets on Friday, adding six rebounds, seven assists, two steals and six 3-pointers.

Those assists also matched his career high and he set a season high in treys. He has been one of the primary defenders for the Pelicans and he even had to guard James Harden for much of this game. Obviously not having DeMarcus Cousins was huge for Hill tonight, but this is shocking after a four-point Wednesday. Hill could be worth a look as a speculative add in deeper leagues, but most owners should want to see him do it again on Sunday against the Wolves.
Mar 18 - 1:21 AM

Solomon Hill went just 1-of-7 from the field vs. Miami on Wednesday, scoring four points with four rebounds, two assists, one block and four turnovers in 26 minutes.

Hill scored 16 and 12 points in his previous two games. He hasn't scored double-digit points in three straight games all season, however, so this was the easiest prop bet of the night. With Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins swallowing up all the usage, there's nothing to see here.
Mar 15 - 11:48 PM

Solomon Hill scored 16 points with three rebounds, one steal and two 3-pointers in 43 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

This was one of his best games of the season with some important defense. Hill scored a combined 11 points in his previous four games, so he would obviously need to do it again to even be considered as a pickup.
Mar 11 - 10:47 PM

Solomon Hill scored three points with one rebound and one assist in 40 minutes against the Spurs on Friday.

He managed a 5.9 usage rate and a 0.0 defensive rebounding rate in these 40 minutes, so that's pretty much all you need to know about the shots available when the Pelicans have their two bigs. Hill isn't worth owning in most leagues.
Mar 4 - 2:12 AM

Solomon Hill played 36 minutes with two points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal against the Mavs on Saturday.

The playing time will certainly be there, but the usage rate will not. He's going to log most of his minutes next to DeMarcus Cousins, Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday, so he won't be an option unless he's wide open or as a cutter.
Feb 26 - 12:00 AM

Solomon Hill scored a season-high 23 points with five rebounds, one assist, two steals and four 3-pointers in 37 minutes against the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

That's impressive against the Grizzlies defense and he was shockingly the game's high scorer. Hill clearly benefited from Terrence Jones (thumb) and Dante Cunningham (personal) not playing, so the needle doesn't really move too much here.
Feb 15 - 11:35 PM

Solomon Hill scored 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 34 minutes vs. the Spurs on Friday.

That's two solid games in a row for Hill after he scored 14 points with eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two triples on Wednesday vs. the Thunder. While his minutes are up, it's still hard to trust a guy who was averaging 6.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in his previous January games. If you don't like the guy at the end of your bench in a very deep league, give Hill a look.
