General manager Dell Demps said Solomon Hill can slide over to play some power forward.
This isn't surprising to hear whatsoever after the Pelicans dropped a four-year, $52 million deal on him. Anthony Davis has been more successful as a center, so Hill turning in good minutes at the four would go a long way. The former Pacer is inconsistent, but a new uniform could help him become fantasy relevant. Sep 23 - 2:39 PM

Solomon Hill said that he wants to expand his game on the offensive end as a member of the Pelicans.

''I want to expand my offensive game, but I'm clearly here to play and be our No. 1 defender,'' Hill said. ''I wanted to go somewhere that provided a place that I feel comfortable, a place that I can get better and allow me to grow." Hill will have the opportunity to start in New Orleans, and his averages of 12.1 points, 6.4 boards, 1.7 steals and 1.9 triples in 29.1 minutes through seven games in April are certainly intriguing. He's on the radar as a potential late-round flier in deep leagues.

Solomon Hill said the opportunity to start in New Orleans was a "huge" factor in his decision to sign.

Hill also said that he's comfortable playing the three and four and that he's looking forward to the up-tempo offense. Tyreke Evans (knee) likely won't be ready for the start of the season, so Hill will compete with Quincy Pondexter for the starting small forward role on opening night. Regardless, Hill is nothing more than a late-round flier and didn't really make any noise last season until the playoffs.

Pelicans sign F Solomon Hill.

Hill had already agreed to a deal with the Pelicans and has now officially signed his four-year, $52 million deal. Hill has some upside at just 25 years old, but he's been too inconsistent to be anything more than a late-round flier in 2016-17 fantasy drafts.
Jul 21 - 12:08 PM

The Pelicans have a verbal agreement on a four-year, $52 million deal with unrestricted free agent Solomon Hill.

He saw a big uptick in minutes during the postseason and he still has some room to grow at age 25. Hill is wildly inconsistent, he was out of the rotation earlier in the year, and he's just a career 40.9 percent shooter from the field. The Pelicans likely knew they couldn't get an expensive small forward, so they'll give Hill a chance. He could find himself getting minutes next season.
Jul 1 - 4:15 PM

Solomon Hill has been linked to the Jazz, Grizzlies, Mavericks and Bulls.

He's generating a lot of interest for a player who averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game last season. Regardless of where Hill lands, it's tough to imagine him having any legitimate fantasy value.
Jul 1 - 11:57 AM

The Jazz have reportedly "heavily scouted" Solomon Hill and are interested in signing him as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

The feeling is reportedly mutual, although he's also been receiving interest from multiple teams around the league. With the salary cap set to spike to $94 million next season, Hill should be able to earn a deal in the $9 to $13 million range, which the Jazz could easily do as they're currently well under the cap. If Hill does wind up in Utah, he'd more than likely backup Gordon Hayward, so it wouldn't be an ideal landing spot for him in terms of fantasy hoops. The Jazz will also reportedly go after Luol Deng, but Hill is their preferred target.
Jun 28 - 3:55 PM

The Pacers have decided to decline Solomon Hill's option for the 2016-17 season.

The 25-year-old will now become an unrestricted free agent and should have his fair share of suitors. "Like I told Solomon, the best thing ever happened to him was us putting a boot in his butt," team president Larry Bird said. While Hill only averaged 4.2 points in 14.7 minutes per game last season, he was able to finish the season strong and averaged 12.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.9 three-pointers in 29.1 minutes per game in April. He's not a must-draft player in standards leagues, but Hill will be a worth a late-round flier if he lands in the right situation.
May 5 - 11:31 AM

Solomon Hill scored two points with six rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes against the Raptors on Monday.

Unsurprisingly, Hill couldn't keep his momentum going from a nice 13-point game on Saturday. Hill is unlikely to meet value even as a punt play in DFS.
Apr 18 - 9:50 PM

Solomon Hill made 1-of-3 from the field and all 10 from the line for 13 points with two rebounds and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes against the Raptors on Saturday.

He was very good and the forward combo of Paul George and Solomon Hill worked out nicely. Hill was not very effective in his 64 minutes against the Raptors this season, but the Pacers ran a lot of different action with him. While this was great for Hill, it's still tough to trust him as a DFS punt.
Apr 16 - 4:11 PM

Solomon Hill scored a season-high 25 points against the Bucks during a 97-92 win on Wednesday, adding six rebounds, three assists, four steals and seven 3-pointers in 33 minutes.

He was great and basically stepped into Paul George's role tonight. Hill might be more important in the series against the Pistons because of how they like to space the floor. Of course, he won't be worth using in DFS or in postseason leagues.
Apr 14 - 12:35 AM

The Pacers clinched a playoff spot with a win on Sunday, aided by Solomon Hill's 13 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench.

Hill made 6-of-9 shots for his third consecutive solid game, as efficient shooting and active defense have endeared him to Frank Vogel. Indiana moved into a virtual tie with the idle Pistons and they control their own fate -- if they win their final two games, they'll earn the No. 7 seed regardless of how the Pistons' fare this week. The No. 7 seed is slated to face the Raptors in the first round, while the No. 8 seed will face the Cavaliers, so they'll be coming to play on Tuesday.
Apr 10 - 9:05 PM

Solomon Hill started the second half of Wednesday's game and finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, one block and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes of action.

Hill had 11 points and five rebounds in the first half and was effective vs. Kevin Love defensively, so his terrific play prompted Frank Vogel to deploy him ahead of Lavoy Allen after halftime. He gives the Pacers a versatile defender who can knock down sporadic 3-pointers, but his peripheral role in the offense makes him a non-factor in typical fantasy leagues.
Apr 6 - 10:06 PM

Solomon Hill started the second half of Wednesday's game in place of Lavoy Allen.

Hill had a strong half and coach Frank Vogel rewarded him with the in-game promotion. Check back after the game to see how he fares.
Apr 6 - 8:33 PM

Solomon Hill played one minute against the Nets on Saturday with no stats.

Paul George (leg) did play and looked totally fine, so there is little reason to stash Hill. Even if George did miss time, Hill would only have value in 16-team leagues.
