Carrick Felix (shoulder) is a game-time decision to face the Lakers on Thursday.

Carrrick Felix (left shoulder) is expected to miss the next month due to a Grade I sprain of his AC joint.

He can't catch a break after missing most of his rookie season due to a sports hernia. Felix thrives in transition and did look good in the 2013 summer league, but he's not going to be in the rotation.
Sep 30 - 9:13 PM

Jazz SG Carrick Felix injured his left shoulder during Tuesday's practice.

He's being examined and the extent of his injury is uncertain, but this doesn't help his odds of making Utah's roster once training camp concludes. We'll update his status once more is known.
Sep 30 - 2:37 PM

The Jazz have agreed to trade John Lucas, Malcolm Thomas and Erik Murphy to the Cavaliers in exchange for Carrick Felix, a future second-round pick and $1 million.

The Cavaliers gain flexibility with the move since none of the players they'll receive have guaranteed contracts, and this trade has all the marks of a precursor to a possible deal for Kevin Love. The Warriors appear to have fallen out of the K-Love sweepstakes due to their refusal to part with Klay Thompson, and the Cavs seem like the clear-cut favorites with only the Nuggets and Bulls explicitly rumored to be bidding for Love. As for Felix, he won't have fantasy relevance in Utah or anywhere else.

Carrick Felix is available to play against the Nets on Wednesday.

He's been out since January due to a stress fracture in his knee and this is a surprise. Felix likes to get his buckets in transition and had a decent offseason, but he has a lot of growing to do. He's no lock to play tonight.
Apr 16 - 6:32 PM

Cavaliers rookie Carrick Felix has been diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left knee.

He'll be out for approximately 6-8 weeks. Felix averaged under five minutes in a handful of appearances with Cleveland this season, so his unfortunate injury won't have any fantasy implications.
Jan 28 - 12:16 PM

The Cavs scheduled an MRI for Carrick Felix's sore left knee on Monday.

The rookie is having a tough start to his season after sports hernia surgery from earlier in the season. Felix was effective in summer league and in the preseason, but he won't have fantasy value this season.
Jan 27 - 3:37 PM

Carrick Felix has been recalled from the D-League by the Cavaliers.

Felix had been playing with the Canton Charge of the D-League, but he won't carry any fantasy value with him as he returns to the NBA.
Jan 21 - 12:23 PM

The Cavaliers have assigned SG Carrick Felix and C Henry Sims to the D-League.

Neither guy has any fantasy value, so their absence from the Cavs' bench shouldn't alter any lineups.

Carrick Felix made his debut on Friday against the Pelicans and failed to score in two minutes.

He went through Friday's shootaround, but this is a surprise to see him on the court so soon. In Las Vegas Summer League, Felix was an exciting player to watch and was able to get his own shot, so he could get a chance for minutes. The Cavs do have some issues on the wing, but Felix will have to put on quite a show to be a consistent factor in the rotation off the bat.

Cavaliers rookie Carrick Felix (sports hernia) practiced on Thursday for the first time this season.

Felix was impressive this summer and may squeeze out a few minutes behind Dion Waiters, Jarrett Jack and C.J. Miles, but he's not a fantasy option.

Carrick Felix was diagnosed with a mild sports hernia and he will be out indefinitely.

It's too bad for the rookie. Felix looked great in summer league and was getting a lot of praise from coach Mike Brown. He's not on the radar in redraft leagues.
Mon, Oct 14, 2013 04:11:00 PM

The Cavaliers signed SG Carrick Felix to a four-year contract on Monday, with the first three years guaranteed.

The Cavs drafted Felix in the second round after he averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks in his junior season with Arizona State. He's a 6'6" shooting guard with solid 3-point range and his defense caught Mike Brown's eye. The three guaranteed years prove Cleveland has plenty of confidence in him, but he's unlikely to make a dent in fantasy leagues as a rookie.

Mike Brown said that Carrick Felix has a good chance to make the Cavs.

"I liked what Carrick did," Brown said. "He’s a young guy that really doesn’t know quite what he’s doing, but he seems like a quick learner. He’s long, he’s athletic, he brings a lot of energy to the table on every possession. So he’s a guy who has a pretty good chance of making our team. Felix had an encouraging outing in Vegas and really like to get out and run in transition. The Cavs do have some depth on the wing, so Felix won't be worth drafting in fantasy leagues this season.
